First case, Legendary Battles

5/5

Pros:
Prepainted miniatures, a ton of them. I got one case and now have enough goblins, kobolds, hobgoblins, bugbears and orcs to have a roving band for each.
The art is good for the most part. There's some flaws, especially around the faces, but the flaws are acceptable, and better than I'd do.
The price is good (though still high). Providing you're in the subscription (maybe save up coupons, too, I did get the holiday discount).
There's good guys, too. Elven rangers, dwarven rogues, halfling slingers, gnome sorcerers. They're really overwhelmed by the baddies but that's how most games are going to be (I imagine?).

Cons:
It's a ton of miniatures (128, with 32 large or huge ones). You're going to need some space.
The booster aspect. There's some rares and maybe even uncommons you may simply not get. Salt is rubbed in the wound when you end up with like 4 yetis (or another monster you do not need).

All in all, I like it, recommend it, for those who need it. Check the lists in the Product Discussion, or on WizKids, to see what's going to be showing up. If you want them, and have the money, pull the trigger. It's a good get.

Women are Cool!

4/5

In this day and age where it still feels like the gaming world is dominated by men, it's so refreshing to see a game publisher be more inclusive of women. I applaud the production of more female characters giving both men and women more options to choose from. I feel truly sorry for any individual who feels that a game suffers from the inclusion of more female characters.

Unbeatable Price, but not a Bargain

4/5

I'm a Subscriber and my second Case is on the way. If you intend to collect the Miniatures or play with them in your adventure Path the subscribtion is the best choice for you if following points seem to fit to you:
1. You have the Money to Spend 1000$ or a little more a year because you have to have in mind that there are 3 to 4 Cases coming out a year.
2. Getting Most of the Miniatures of a Set to below standard prices. Ordering a full case does not guarantee you to get all Miniatures to a set (though i have been lucky concearning that)
3. If you live in Germany....hell yeah ( A Case here costs roughly 700$ that is without the Premium)

After i got my first Case from the Toll collectors i can only advocate the Case Subscription if you are determined to get more than one Case just for fun.

Why no dudes?

3/5

The ratio for male characters is shrinking per set. Why is it that Paizo makes all the good sculpts female characters? I am a big fan of preprinted miniatures. I have not bought a single random set because there are so few useable male characters. All the knights and paladins seem to be female. Not to mention that the ratio of female pcs are way out of line with the amount of males that play games that play only male characters. Thanks for making an outstanding good and useless product!

It would be nice to get a product page for september's "Legendary Adventures" Pathfinder Battles set.

Now that we have a product page can we get a 'start subscription with Legendary Adventures'?

:D

Think I am going to start up a sub with the new kobolds and the goblin village? Really can't say no to this.

Should be fixed now! Turns out there was one teeny tiny lil' checkbox that wasn't marked correctly, but Legendary Adventures should be showing as a starting item now.

270 vs 360

So... Was starting to look at adding the subscription, and I think the prices are wrong for the Legendary Set to stat with?

If I 'Start' with the Legendary it says just under $360 for the case, if I start with Ruins of Lastwall it says around $270 which is what I expected.

Going to make a post in the customer service area too, but can you please check/confirm which is right and if it needs correcting? Pretty sure it should be the 270 price?

Thanks.

The new set IS more expensive than older sets.

That being said, the listed price is $399.99.
If i subtract 30% ($120), $280 remain.
The case incentive is $99.99 - $25 for subscribers.

That should add up to $304.98...

The price being wrong is a mistake that comes up EVERY SINGLE TIME a new set is being offered, though. ;-)

Yeah, I know the Incentive is a bit more, but the cost for the sub is what I halted on. Not wanting to agree to start it up at the wrong price :P

Any recommendations on how best to get Paizo's attention that the sub discount is applied at the MSRP and not the Paizo price for Legendary Encounters?

Hi Yoshua.

Were you able to get to the bottom of this pricing issue? I'd like to start with the Legendary Adventures case for a subscription as well but I'm curious as to whether we get charged at the higher rate and then have to work directly with customer service as to the difference...?

Have not yet, been busy with work and havent gotten home in time to be able to call customer service. My guess is that we will have to talk directly with customer service. I recommend doing it over the phone. They are really quick once you have someone on the line to assist.

Wound up subbing Lastwall. Just too many good minis and am thoroughly happy I did.

That being said, am I the only one seeing you can only start a new sub with Lastwall right now?

Glitch in the system? Doesn't affect me, I have my sub in queue, but I don't see LA as an option to start here now. Know I did when I subbed though.

Yes, I noticed that too, but like you I am a subscriber and thus not affected by it.

Of course, they are running the auths for orders that include Legendary Adventures today, so that could be the cause. If so, Legendary Adventures should pop back up as a subscription starting option in a few days.

What is the situation now?

Yesterday it looks like subscriptions were totally unavailable.

Today they appear to be available, but since I am already subscribed I can't test it out to see what if anything you can start a subscription with now. What happens when a non-subscriber clicks on that "Add to Cart" button at the top?

Looks like some configurations got a little out of whack, but Legendary Adventures should be showing as a starting option again!

For Small/Medium figures, fishing tackle boxes work great. Don't have as good an answer for larger figures.

I now have way too many for a tacklebox... I have moved on to Arko Mills storage solutions for the Mediums. I have 4 of these and I sort my mini's by alphabetical and I also made an access database to track them as well.

For larger mini's I pickup ArtBin storage cases from a local craft store.

Does anyone know when City of Lost Omens is actually being released? I've heard June, but haven't seen any production images or advertising for it. With everything going on, money is a little tighter than normal. So I need to know if I can plan my savings to get it, or if I need to cancel my subscription for the first time. I'm afraid they are going to remain silent, and then charge me out of nowhere for this. Thanks.

Hey Brell. Everything we know still points to a June release and WZK have told us that our cases and such are on their way to us now so that seems to match up.

Hey Brell,

i hope you are in good health.
Here is Wizkids official release schedule.

If you bookmark it, you can always see when minis products are going to be released. ;-)

Currently, "City of Lost Omens" has an unspecified june release date.
Diamond's Previews and another big online supplier list the set for june 24th, but Wizkids could still push the release date to a july date.
The fact that there is no definite street date for a june product in mid-may points to that being a possibility.

Normally Wizkids update their release dates on the first wednesday of each month, so we should have a definite date on june 3rd.
They are also adding new products now and then.

Hey Brell,

Paizo now lists the release date as july 30th.
Wizkids already started listing it as a july 2020 release on their new sales site about a week ago.
The official release schedule of Wizkids still lists it as an unspecified june release (it will be updated june 2nd or 3rd).

Wizkids already has the set in stock, so it may be that the official release date will be somewhen before july 30th.
There will probably be online shops offering minis before that date, but Paizo's price for subscribers is the cheapest option (depending on the additional shipping costs).

I'll keep you updated.

As of the release of Pathfinder Battles: City of Lost Omens, we are no longer treating premium figures and sets as case incentives. Customers will be able to purchase Pathfinder Battles: City of Lost Omens Premium Figures - Adult Red & Black Dragons and Pathfinder Battles: City of Lost Omens Premium Set - Thieves’ Guild whether or not they are Pathfinder Battles case subscribers, and quantities for subscribers will no longer be limited to the number of cases they ordered. As with all Pathfinder Battles products, Pathfinder Battles case subscribers will receive a 30% discount on any premium figures or sets they purchase on paizo.com.

For more details, please see the Pathfinder Battles Subscription page.

Okay, so I just added the two premiums for City of Lost Omens to my sidecart. The order (26536261) shows a (roughly) 15% discount, not 30%. I presume that will be corrected when the order is finalized. I hope.

Not logged in it shows 'our' price as 59.99 on the dragons and 53.99 on the thieves guild. Not sure what is going on but definitely not working right all the way around.

Since the deal for the cases has gotten worse since we are getting a much smaller discount on the premiums has paizo fixed the godawful pricing for case shipping? The last sets shipping costs were re dic u lous. And it was nearly enough to run my business off.

The Legendary Adventures weighed more because the premium set and the huge figures. With the removal of the case incentive the weight issue will hopefully be resolved if they do huges again, but I am sad about the loss of the case incentive as that was a big contributor to convincing me to subscribe.

All of that said, the 280 per case is still an insane deal vs buying the case in the wild for me.

Just got the email for the subscription order today.

I've had a case subscription since the beginning, but at this high price, this will definitely be my last case.

After the craziness with the shipping charges on the last case, and now what appears to be a very steep price increase for the case alone, plus not even coming with the large case incentive discount, I think I'm about done giving Paizo my money.

I got not one but two emails today correcting the pricing on the case.

I was going to get the new case (City of Lost Omens), but honestly the price point is a sticking point for me. I've got about half the minis paizo has put out one way or the other and I really like the premiums this time around. That they are no longer incentives makes it harder to justify. I might pick up the premiums off amazon if they are discounted. I also have zero use for the 'dungeon dressing' minis. Just my personal opinion there. But I thought paizo might want the feedback.

What would be nice is if Wizkids released more of their line as unpainted minis. If the paint jobs were spot on every time, I could definitely see investing in the prepaints, but honestly I can do as well myself (and I'm no great minis painter). Maybe their premium line they're hinting at will be better, but honestly i think they're just pricing themselves right out business.
