Sun Metal Spell: metal weapons only?

A recent campaign has left a few of us torn on how the Sun Metal spell works. The spell description does not specify if the weapon with this spell cast on it has to be metal to use it. One player wants to go by real world logic, and the name, to say it could only be cast on metal. However, the description says the weapon affected does not take damage from the spell, so it sounds as though it can be any weapon, regardless of it's materials.

Can someone help settle this matter?

The spells target entry is "one melee weapon". It does not specify only a metal weapon there or in the spell description. The spell's name has no mechanical effect. Sun Metal can be used with any melee weapon, metal or not.

The name of a spell is not to be used for rules text to determine how the spell functions. Wall of stone does not have to create a wall. Dimension door does not make a door in any way, shape, or form. Sun metal can effect any melee weapon.

However, one could argue that RAI is that it only works on metal weapons, which I would disagree with but would not be opposed to as a reasonable houserule.

Because it's f!*%ing metal, and first level divine spells kinda suck. I took the spell as an Oracle just so I could make the party Barbarian look really cool when he fought ice dragons.

He also roleplayed it like the Half Orc Barbarian had no idea WHY his sword kept bursting into flames, and would beat his enemies with it in a furious attempt to put it out. It was hilarious.
