The leader casts a nefarious spell, and The Carnelian Signet's vision dims as smoke fills her eyes. She comes to a rest as her rage gives way.

"What? You rescued me?" She pants. "Thank you, I was ambushed by a group of Infernal creatures. I cut their leader down only for a quadruped to heal him. And then an aquatic devil held me in place while the cursed wolf tried to trick me."

"Why is everyone looking at me like that?"

As the truth becomes clear, The Carnelian Signet gets on her knees and bows to Eltis. "Please accept my apologies, Eltis. I thought... Sortoz's magic was too strong for me."

Once the team recovers, Eando Kline gives the Carnelian Signet an excuse to vent out her frustration. "With pleasure."

"You wanted to hide, and yet..." With her flaming kinetic aura raised and at the ready, she bats a flame with her sword like a baseball, smashing the small fire ball through the window.

Bella maintains her composure when she's called a murderous hobo, blaming Imara's ignorance but admiring her honesty.

"Honesty brought me to the Pathfinder Society in the first place. I have much to learn about the world. For example, the ability to quickly improvise and put things together."

Bella quickly takes some of the spare gears and constructs them into a tower half her height. "If you hide in your home- which ours is quite elaborate, thank you- the world will move on without you. There is so much more to learn about your Beast Guns. Why not travel around the world and help people in the meantime?"

"Port Valen is on the way to Valenhall." Bella thinks. "I do remember the time the Ulfen diplomat spoke about when she mentioned the Mahwek interference." Bella rolls her eyes. "The Ulfen immigrated to the region and the Mahwek are native. If you are of Ulfen descent, be sensitive to local politics here."

Khiari clicks her hooves. "Yeah, this is supposedly on the way to Valenhall. A place where legendary Ulfen warriors get to rest in paradise. Might be real, might be a metaphor. But this is the former feasting hall of King Sveinn Blood-Eagle." Khiari waves her hands to indicate the room everyone is in. "See? I did my research. I'm more than a cute face." She grins.

Now with the entities destroyed, you can search the room.

Master Proficiency in Perception and DC 26:
Next to the notes you noticed a stone chest that seems to be untouched by the ooze. Inside you find a silvered quill and a greater clandestine cloak. You also find a collection of very rare and valuable metals.

The intact research notes are penned by Anaton Lasca.

Ooze Study:
Preliminary results are not fruitful. I had hoped to modify the ooze’s acid to affect only diseased or necrotized flesh. We could use the oozes to devour the undead. But the prototypes are split‑resistant, with a tendency to spit acid when agitated. No good.

Chemical Battery:
My harpy-deterring device runs out of power too quickly. They are such a nuisance when I travel to and from Ardis. They keep seeking goods within the manor, and our electric protections keep them out. But they are growing more bold by the day. I think I could develop a chemical battery that could power the devices remotely. I'll work on this after the oozes.

Trick Magic Item is useful for fire and forget spells, which is its main weakness. Besides good ol' Tailwind and Heroism there aren't many spells that have good long term effects that an item couldn't replace at a similar or lower level.

Otherwise you're trying to use it during battle. If you don't fight unarmed you have to spend an action to pull out the wand, then wait for next round to Trick Magic Item, and then you can spend 2 actions to actually use it.

Huh now that I think about it, that also means any 3 action spells are impossible because you need another action to Trick Magic Item.

TL DR; Trick Magic Item is heavily shackled in what you can actually do with it. May as well dip into a spellcasting dedication instead. Whistles Innocently

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you" Sal'era mumbles to Lokaloka. "Jiggs, I'm coming." She Strides up the stairs.

"Honey, I've got this."

◆Act Together: Sal'era takes 1 action, Jiggo takes a bonus action.

As Sal'era ◆Strides into a flanking position, Jiggo ◆casts >Shield< to protect himself.

Then he ◆◆Casts >Ignition< and swings again at Najid.

Spell Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 1 = 28
Melee Fire Damage: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 2) + 1 = 14

"See?" Jiggo's staff bursts into flame long enough to wallop Najid.

Sal'era sports a sly grin. "Love when he gets feisty."

Jiggo has +1 AC from Shield. Will use Shield Block for Hardness 10 if the attack deals at least 10 damage.

You had time to refocus. The enemies stay in that room until you approach.

The Roiling Incant is immune to "evocation", and it has abilities that trigger off of "non-cantrip evocation spell" effects.

We're in the wonderful world of Pathfinder 2 remastered, so I gotta play fast and loose with the concept of Evocation.

"Now then, a discussion about Gorum and godsrain. I doubt we'll ever see this happen again." Jiggo gets the audience's attention. "Now, if you pluck off my hair you get a piece of me. It's not fully me, but it is a part of me." Jiggo pats his orange hair.

"Imagine these shards are Gorum's hair. His nails, I guess. Do deities need to groom?" Jiggo is distracted by his own metaphor. "My point is, we're all dealing with pieces of War itself. We don't fully know what part of War we're utilizing, we don't know its full effects, and we may be dealing with dirty parts we should destroy and never use. We have to be careful."

Jiggo uses his Expert knowledge of Religious matters to talk about gods and Warshards.

"Okay, okay. I got this. Left foot, right foot, pivot. Left foot, right foot, pivot." Jiggo focuses on getting his feet in order and keeping up with Sal'era's rhythm.

"Jiggs, eyes up here." Sal'era's reminder causes him to look up at her face. He usually sees her vigilance, her paranoia. Always waiting for an assassin to try to silence her because she betrayed her family. Or an overzealous angel who decides once a demon, always a demon.

But dance lessons were innocent. Coveted. If a harpsichord were here Sal'era would play a few bars. Times she wasn't on duty and she didn't need to know the finer points of trickery. So he lets his dancing instincts take over and lets her lead.

Performance, Fine Clothing: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 = 30

They move as one, and Sal'era grips her hands on Jiggo's. It's enough to make her forget...

"Honey? Um, not to ruin things, but..." Jiggo's voice slips into her reverie. "The music stopped a minute ago."

"The music... stopped?" Sal'era mumbles before putting up her defenses. "I knew that. I figured we should wake up the crowd. I'm certain the previous lectures were boring them." She gives the audience a knowing look before turning towards the Dwarves.

Intimidation: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Jiggo manages to dress himself with the robes without needing Sal'era's help! He's so proud.

Once they leave the store, he catches up to the team. "I've been thinking about the warshards of Gorum. They are his essence, but these are bigger than the expected size of godsrain. Their power isn't predictable, but they all have a War focus. Being Gorum and all, this shouldn't be a big surprise."

Jiggo returns to the lodge, takes a seat, a scroll and a pen. He can't wait to scribe. "Sal and I did work on our dance moves... we could definitely do some performance. Maybe we can explain the moral ramifications and dangers with a dance?" Jiggo starts writing theories and copying pages from reference books.

"Everyone has an approach to the godsrain. Weapons, supersoldiers, interspace travel..." he sighs. "No one is asking how they can help the people who live here and now. Can we use Gorum's essence to protect out lands from invaders? To protect merchants on perilous trips to remote villages who need their supplies?" Jiggo shakes his head. "We have this power, we should use it for good reasons."

"Maroon. Burgundy. Dark red if you don't have them." Sal'era begins inspecting the dresses. "Must be flexible. At the least I'll need to dance with a... inexperienced partner." Jiggo finds a chair to sit down on, only to shoo off the attendants when they check his shoe size.

"Needs to be very flexible, by the way." Sal'era performs a split, dropping prone for a moment. "It shouldn't tear when I do this or stand up." She shoots up. "Jiggs is paying for mine." She points back to Jiggo, who nods and then stares at the outfits with a mix of confusion and curiosity.

He reaches for his coinpurse, "Um... do you have any you'd be able to donate? The Temple of Iomedae down the block is looking for coats to help people stay warm during the winter."

"The Grand Princess?" Sal'era's posture becomes much more formal and she shifts her weight. "Much more formal than the meeting rooms we've been dragged to before."

While Sal'era usually sticks to the shadows and keeps quiet, she's at the front now. It's Jiggo who is shrinking behind her.

"Jiggs, I told you we'd get fancy during a mission." She turns back to see his sweat and sighs. "Look, you handle the research, I'll handle the negotiations." Jiggo simply nods and she turns back.

"He's adorable when he's nervous."

Vardarel shoots the woman and projects beautiful thorns from his skin.

The Skulls' greed means their protection is gone. But they spin and wheeze around Meat Wagon. "HA! You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn! So how about you kiss my big, beautiful, shiny-"

The Skull's taunt is ruined under a hail of magical bolts. Bun Bun's ruler fizzles out, but it was worth it- the skull shatters and a pile of debris is all that remains.

You're the first table who destroyed the Skull first.

The woman sits down on the cot in the lower quarters,, thankful she saved up enough to afford a boat ride out of Hinji. If the leader finds out what she did and what she said... she shudders in fear. But then she suddenly relaxes. The bunny is down. I know it. She sighs and drifts to sleep...

Bun Helsing is badly burnt when the flames erupt in his face. Maybe Ketephys could have helped... but Vardarel needed help, too. Gotta protect the faithful. Dying 2. Initiative is right before Purple.

As Stitch tries to manipulate the Healer's Gloves, he sees the woman in White React to his movements. "Hey, no funny stuff!"
Gauntlet: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Bludgeoning: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

She gets in one solid punch before Stitch heals himself and repairs Meat Wagon. Meat Wagon responds by ramming her again. She's still standing but the injuries are piling up.

Nicole realizes it's really dark out here. She concocts an elixir and drinks it. White and gray emerge through the complete darkness of the night, and she can see a woman hiding behind the wagon.

Invisibility reminder: If it is undetected, you'll need to Seek to find their square and make it Hidden (DC 11 Flat Check to target directly.) You'll need another action to Point Out its location to the rest of the team. Vardarel knows exactly where they are, everyone else will need to guess.

Vardarel is certain Ketephys must have nudged him a bit to the side. How else can he explain his miraculous survival?

He uses the scroll of See the Unseen. It burns to ash as his eyes glow briefly. The purple skull floating in the air is much more obvious to him, the scroll must be working.

Oh man, this monster. Keeping my player knowledge separated from my character's knowledge has been a treat. There are a couple of spells I'd kill for right now.

Can someone Point Out its location? I'll try to Grapple it so it stops running away. Its Fort Save is the weakest.

"I WISH this was from Osirion! Ma said she got it from a friend and I was like this is a cheap copy." The woman in Blue starts chatting with the Professor as he weaves his magic into the team.

"Who cares about your scarf? Hey the goblin's jumping into his hog, don't let 'im get away!" The woman with Green greaves thinks Stitch is driving away, only for Meat Wagon to spin around and ram her with critical force. She steps back from the blades as Bun Helsing emerges.

"Hey, there's another stupid bunny in the back... wait, he's GOT A GUN!" She isn't ready for Bun Helsing's opening strike, but she avoids the follow up entirely.

The Red Hooded leader snarls. "Idiots! Just... surround one of them. Start with the goblin before he escapes!" She runs over to flank Stitch.

Gauntlet: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Gauntlet: 1d20 + 14 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 14 - 5 = 20

Surrounded, Stitch isn't able to keep his guard up as easily, and she finds a few vulnerable spots in his armor to pierce.

"Blue, hurry up and get over here!" She shouts.

Nicole sees an opportunity to act before the woman with Green greaves finally puts up her guard.

The bartender peers closely at Professor Bun Bun, raising a hairy fist... before laughing. "Let me see if I can make something for ya. A little light for a light bunny."

He starts mixing some of the lighter liquids. "Watch yourself, there's a lot of gangs who would pay big money for someone as fluffy as you. Take the Daughters of Cocytus. Their leader, Mother Forsythe, is offering money for unusual newcomers. They say she is an unnerving woman who’s accompanied by some sort of weird light that’s apparently alive. I heard they both thrive on causing terror in others, from their victims to their underlings." He shudders and drops a drink on the counter.

"Keep your ears open, alright? And don't drink too much."

Professor Bun Bun rambles on about Hinji and its criminal organization, threading together tales he's heard alongside theories and random trivia. If you can understand his words, it makes an entertaning lecture. Bun Helsing hangs onto every word. Eventually Nicole gets a summary from Vardarel.

Professor's Notes on Hinji wrote:

In addition to notorious gangs like the Sons of the Tear, a smaller gang is coming onto the scene of Hinji’s ice tears trade: the Daughters of Cocytus. Led by the enigmatic Mother Forsythe, this all-female group has a reputation for spreading fear, as well as being accompanied by a mysterious light that their victims half-remember.

The criminal underworld of Hinji almost entirely revolves around the production and illicit trade of a singular narcotic: ice tears. This ingested drug bestows visions of the past and “possible futures” to those under its effects, and its trade is largely controlled by criminal gangs that abuse those who become addicted.

The Sixwing Drake reaches the docks just after runrise. A pleasantly quiet trip is now filled with the hustle and bustle of crew and dockworkers loading supplies, taking inventory, and getting you out of the way. The Wayport Inn isn't too far off.

One Rose Witch is within sight, and Bella's cold iron dagger finds purchase. It doesn't bleed as much as she thought it would. Maybe she protected herself against cold iron weapons.

Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
A hand appears on her shoulder. She whirls around only to feel relief. "Father! Perfect! The Rose Witch, she is everywhere!"

He smiles. "No. Your enemy is over there. These are your allies. See? Your sister is over there." Bella sees the roses and leaves shake off of one of the fey, revealing animal fur and a familiar rose tattoo. "Sister?"

Bella checks her eyesight again as the garden walls fade and the witches wither back into her teammates.

"As for you..." Her fatherly apparition turns in the direction of the Yellow creature. ">GET OUT!<"

Bella blanches with embarrassment. "My apologies, Madam Greenscale! I was... assaulted with visions!" She frowns as she sees the blood on the dagger.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
And is not remotely paying attention and inhales a virulent puff of poison.

Bella sees the trees grow, the shrubs surround her. The leshy takes on a much more recognizable appearance and Bella hisses.

"I knew it! The Rose Witch! You deceived my mother and my sister, but not I! If they will not punish you, I WILL!"

The Rose Witch seemingly duplicates and tries to surround her. She prepares for the assault!

Meanwhile, Khiari keeps yelling. "Watch out! She's not in control anymore!"

Sickened doesn't stack - you just take the greatest effect. So Kazuki should be Sickened 2 since that's what Failing the Will Save does.
