![]() I've stepped away from Pathfinder a couple of years ago, but I'm curious about 2E and associated OP. The new website is horrible for understanding how the OP works. There needs to be a downloadable document. I also do not understand why this is now an offshoot, but this is all very unfriendly to getting new people involved. ![]()

![]() If you can no longer spontaneous cast heal spells and take away a base amount of channels, you've effectively negated combat healing of a cleric. Now, the cleric has to take heal spells if they are the only healer in the group, further locking in their choices. I know I'm way too late in stating this, but I'm just now getting a chance to play a cleric in this system. It is really terrible. ![]()

![]() It is my pleasure to announce that Jesse Davis (aka IronHelixx) is being promoted to Venture-Captain of Online Play. He currently serves as a VL in Houston, as well as a VL of Online Play. Jesse has plenty of experience and tons of involvement with the online community, even before the decision was made to have Venture-Officers of Online Play. His vision, as well as his deep connections with the online base, have been instrumental in realizing the rapid growth and success of Online Play. He is a natural leader and already fulfilling the duties of a Venture-Captain. Please help me in congratulating Jesse in his new role! ![]()
![]() I want to thank everyone who participated in this game day! We had 172 GMs & players (92 unique individuals) in 31 sessions. 6 of those Pathfinders have received PMs to claim their free Paizo Product PDF. They are:
25 more Pathfinders will be choosing one of 3 boons (folks should be receiving a link from me in a PM shortly). Once again, thank you all for your support! We look forward to the next game day! ![]()
![]() VTT Gameday Re-cap Hey everyone, I want to personally thank everyone who showed up to enjoy in this gameday. It was a rousing success! We had 31 different sessions (with 4 of those being multi-session events) over 5 different time slots. We had gamers from all over the world, and we even had a table run in French. A huge thank you to the GMs for running the games Without all of you, this gameday could not be as successful as it was. And thank you to the event staff who helped ensure the gameday ran as smooth as possible. It really was great to see the community come together that way. I know everyone is interested in the boons and prizes. In the coming days, I will post a list of folks who won and the boons & prizes they can choose from here in this thread. I will individually message each person to gather this information, and then start e-mailing out the boons. Also, by Wednesday, all GMs will receive their GM boon. Be on the lookout for an e-mail from me regarding information for that. Once again, thank you everyone for making this gameday a success. We look forward to seeing you at digital tables for the upcoming AetherCon and a soon-to-be announced gameday in December. Thanks everyone! ![]()
![]() Patrick Harris @ MU wrote: It could be auto-generated. Once a month, query the database. Anyone who has credit for every scenario in a season gets the boon. Anyone who has both player and GM credit for every scenario in a season gets the second boon. Watermarked and everything. Then there's no need for verification, no need to bug the VOs, and no need to even print out the checklist. That's under the assumption Paizo IT has the resources available to do this. But that's a Paizo issue, not one for us to figure out. But definitely a good idea. ![]()
![]() Patrick Harris @ MU wrote: Stuff That's fine, retired scenarios should be exempted. I also agree it should be retroactive and without a time limit. That means new players and old players alike can focus on playing / GMing in specific seasons to get a particular race boon. Also, you won't get the current Season's race boon until GenCon. So you can still keep track of all the scenarios included in the current season, and you will still get credit for them. I also like the fact it rewards both players and GMs for being active in the community. I still want VCs to sign-off, because they can look up your history to make sure you actually have played / GM'ed the scenarios in a Season. You can e-mail them a digital copy for them to review. This is important enough that I do not want just anyone to be able to sign-off. Now folks may complain about having to e-mail this to their local VC, but this is making the cost of this boon practically nothing besides playing / GMing games and finding some way to get sign-off by your VC. If this is too much, then I don't know how to help you. Lastly, if you don't play that much, you won't get much utility from a race boon to begin with. So this program just rewards folks who are more active in the community than those who are not. ![]()
![]() If you can play / run every 2 weeks, you can get a race boon every year. If there isn't at least some base minimum requirement for folks to meet, then there is no point in having race boons. You might as well just open up all races (which is something I am vehemently against). Just because you play the game, that does not mean you should get a boon. ![]()
![]() I would hold back on opening up races and limit the ones we have opened up on. To make things easier for all folks to access boons, each Season release a tracking sheet that allows the player to keep track of which scenarios they have played / GM'ed. After they get sign-off on all of the scenarios for a season (by your local VC so they can verify you actually did play those games), that sheet then becomes a legal race boon of one of two races. Each season could be its own separate race boons. Season 0 could be either a aasimar or tiefling. Season 1 could be an ifrit or undine. Season 2 could be etc. This makes it fair for old and new players alike, and circumvents needing to go to a convention for obtaining a race boon (but makes it easier if you do because of the # of games you can play). ![]()
![]() When will I get contact information? I will be sending that out tomorrow evening. How do I report the information? Either tomorrow or Thursday evening I will send out a reporting form. You will fill in your information there, and the Online VOs will enter in the information for you. What event code are we using? 32689 ![]()

![]() The benefits to GMing is the fact you can run multiple different scenarios at once. You can also take your character to gamedays and conventions (both in-person and online) and level up your character while GMing. You're actually at a huge advantage against your PbP players. /Side note - I do not like the idea of giving extra treatment to this because how can you tell if someone is being honest about doing PbP or not? I don't have time to check every single game entered, and neither does anyone else. ![]()

I have wanted to see weapon cords bite the dust even before the rise of overpowered gunslingers. And go ahead and buy a string, twine, or rope and tie your weapon to your wrist. As a GM, I'll ask you where in the rulebook you're getting that mechanic from. When you can't give me an answer, or refer to something that's banned, I'll then tell you it doesn't work like that and that will be the end of it.
