Female Orc

You are all in the village of Garethsford, a pleasant river crossing on the river Javan. But life has become difficult here. Large numbers of refugees from great troubles in Sterch to the west, across the river, have started to arrive.

Some of you may have been here before, but the place is greatly changed. Once it had a population of about 100 souls, including local farmers, but that has increased tenfold. Tents and shanties dot the area, with many people trampling to land around. A small military encampment is set up, with the lion banner of Keoland above it, and soldiers are policing the ford. People are being allowed out of Sterich, but not into it.

You have arrived in the middle of a slow-moving disaster. You are in the local tavern.
Please describe yourself and how you arrived. Note if you are here for a pardon you would likely have been brought to town in chains, before release (which you can describe). Not that they don't trust you...but they don't trust you.

The Tavern is crowded, but you have a table. A crown guard is stationed near the door. Drink prices are high (double) and of generally poor quality. The same with food. The mood is dark.

Hi all
It has been a while since have GM'd a game on PBP, and I have been nostalgic for some of the old games I played once a time. The against the giant series is perhaps one of the best of the old AD&D module sets ever (possible bias) and I thought I would see if anyone is interested in giving it a whirl.

The ruleset I am using will be pathfinder one or two. I will leave it up to a vote as to which ruleset I use. I have a lot of experience with P1, and prefer that, but I will give P2 a go if enough people say they want it.

Characters:

To give you an idea as to the characters
25 pt characters. This can be a rough adventure.
The party will start as a group of 5 to 6 7th level characters near the lands of Sterich in the world of Greyhawk. This is pre the Greyhawk wars (for those who keep count)
core books for character classes, including occult. No gunslingers (except bolt ace), no vigilantes, no synthesiser summoners. No third party. Some character classes will be handier than others.
No leadership feat, at least not yet. I house rule that feat to 9th level in my games. Item creation is allowed, but the chance to use it will be rare.
Traits, yes and one drawback.
The above is set for adjustment if P2 is chosen (obviously)

I am hoping to start the game on the 7th of December, with characters chosen a week before (the 1st of Dec). FYI as I am in Australia, I'm about a day ahead of most of you, so that would be the 8th for you. (and the 2nd for characters) :)
So, what do you say?

A meeting occurs
Is all in readiness?
Yes, my love. Our pawn will expose them, the goblins will do the task we have set for them. a male voice answered.
Hmm, yes, the goblins. You will supervise.
Oh yes. It will pay a great many debts.
It is the start, my lovely A hideous scrapping noise resounded. all those who wronged me...us will pay. In blood and fire.
Yes, my dark mistress
Elsewhere
A cold wind blew over rough terrain, on a great height. A stony hand crossed a glowing sphere, and a deep chuckle resounded. Yes, my pawn, loose yourself onto the world. You only prepare for my coming The chuckle extended into a maniacal laugh. Footsteps receded along with the laughter.
The sphere remained, and the image appeared in it, a yellow eye. fool, a cold voice said. The eye faded.

Hi to all. This is a call to all those excellent characters who weren't chosen in the rise of the Runelords Redux game.
Same conditions for characters, with first preference to characters from that thread. I'll note down character design basics (so we are on the same page), but this should go quick as your characters are done.
I would like to start play on Monday.

Many thanks to dm loup blanc for starting us on this path

Hey all
My campaign is looking for a replacement player for the Reign of Winter series.
We have at the moment

Sturion: a stone lord dwarf paladin
Thorn: a human spirit ranger
Rikael: an urban barbarian
Urga: a battle oracle
Also we have a NPC witch, Agatha (3rd level winter witch)

We have just lost our druid, AWOL, and are looking for a replacement.

Requirements
20 points for stats
No summoner synths
No 3pp please.
3rd level characters, so third level equipment budget.

They are about half way though the first module, and have thus far encountered two nasty (though low level) mythic encounters. See here for details

Looking for good roleplayers.

The characters are not yet mythic, but barring bad things should be soon.

Hi all. I going to start the Iron Gods AP shortly and am looking for players

character creation details:
20 points characters, any paizo classes or archetypes, except synthesiser summoner, and that includes the ACG.

Races include all core, asimar, tifling, android, ratfolk, orc. might be willing for other races with a GOOD argument for it. Kobolds might work.

two traits, one of which is a campaign trait. Please download the players guide on this site.

Story feats I am approaching with care. Best to discuss them first before using them.

No, and I emphasis this, no, 3pp. At all.

Alignments any non evil.

Background of about a paragraph. Your characters can be from Numeria or not. Please note that This AP is antagonistic towards the technic league, so designing characters towards joining that organisation is discouraged. Although a good "learn their evil ways, and reject them" story arc might be cool.

6 players, but several are reserved (three at last count) but this could change.

I would like a thug (BSF, lol), a skill bunny, a divine caster, a arcane caster and two others.

Adventure of the savage hills

Female Orc

Welcome

Female Orc

Welcome

Hi All
Welcome to the savage hills game. This is a game that pits the more savage races against the civilized ones. It's a continuation of the campaign started by Gadgeteer Smashwidget, who has dropped out of contact, after saying he wasn't well. I hope he is well, but it's been a while and he has dropped off the forums.

Anyway this game is one in which you play orcs, half orcs, kobolds, goblins, hobgoblins and so on. You are all members, honorary or otherwise, of the Wolftooth tribe. This tribe has just recently won a vicious war against another tribe called the Bearclaw, but now faces a new threat.

While myself and a few others (I hope) will determine the setting fluff, the GM duties will rotate. I will run the first adventure, then each player will have the opportunity to run one of their own. Any former players have reserved spots if they wish, with their former characters, but we have several open spots. Some players have already said they want to GM, and others have said they would rather not play. A desire to GM is not a requirement to be in this game. This is a way for people to try GM'ing if they wish, in either a small or large way.

setting info:
Since time immemorial, the Orcs and Half-Orcs of clan Wolftooth have lived peacefully in the Savage Hills, occasionally trading with the humans and rarely warring with other clans in the Savage Hills. Clan Wolftooth sees no honor in mindless warfare, only battling in defense of their lands.

Now, they must take up the Wolfhide Banner once again.

All manner of races that consider themselves ‘civilized,’ even the ones who are supposedly close to nature, have been destroying forests and smaller Wolftooth villages throughout their territory in the Savage Hills.

You are some of the best warriors in clan Wolftooth, having proven yourself in combat against clan Wolftooth’s closest neighbor, clan Bearclaw.

You will lead a small band of fellow savage races who have taken up your cause in defending the Savage Hills. You will face all sorts of dangers from both other clans in the Savage Hills and the civilized races.

Are you up to the challenge?

character creation:

-your backstory should connect you to clan Wolftooth in some way, even if you aren’t an Orc or Half-Orc. You also are a veteran of the war with the bearclaw.
-Races allowed are Orc and Half-Orc. Other races approved on a case-by-case basis. Greenlight to kobold and goblin. But ask and you will get a hearing. Please no created races.
-Characters start at level 3, putting you a cut above the average orc.
-Any paizo core or base classes. Note that while not specifically banned, a paladin would be challenging. But it could work. No 3pp
-Spellcaster notes. Most Shamans in the tribe are druids, with a few clerics. Bards are common, especially sound striker, savage skald and dirge bard archetypes. Sorcerers and witches are around, though wizards would be rare. No synthesis alchemists. I don't mind them but others may have issues.
-Starting gold for 3rd level characters
-20 Point Buy.

Questions?

Hi all
Had an issue with a game last night, and so I decided to see what peoples views are.

The party was fighting a nasty nest of Dark Nagas and their serpent-man minions. The fight was winding down at this point with just two naga left, and the party moving in for the kill.

Our cleric was under sanctuary after been hit by a pair of lightning bolts, failing against one, so he cast sanctuary. During one of the Nagas turn. It stepped five feet to line up the cleric and the paladin/monk with a lightning bolt and let fly.

The cleric immediately protested that the Naga had targeted him and so should make a will save to launch the spell. The reply was that lightning bolt is an area effect spell and so is not stopped by sanctuary. Discussion followed. Finally the GM, decided to make the save, which he did handily, and the lightning bolt went through.

After the session the discussion continued. The clerics point was that the GM had targeted him specifically since the Naga, being highly intelligent and observant would have known the paladin could completely avoid the attack. The reply was if that was the case the naga need not have moved as he could have blasted the cleric from where he was.

So after that preamble here are my questions

Should the naga make the save?

If a character is under sanctuary could someone hit him with an area effect spell if no one else is hit?

If the sancturied character is in a group and someone wants to hit him with an area effect spell, does the caster need to save?

Can an alchemist target the square of the sancturied character so as to splash him?

Thanks for your help.

Hi all
If, or should I say when, the brawler hybrid class becomes official, what happens to the fighter (brawler) archetype. Reason I'm asking is I'm playing one as a PFS character, and I really like it. Do we have two different brawlers, with the confusion that could make, does the fighter (brawler) get rewritten into the brawler, or does the archetype fade away.

Not an important question I suppose but I am interested in peoples views.
