Hi all. I going to start the Iron Gods AP shortly and am looking for players

character creation details:
20 points characters, any paizo classes or archetypes, except synthesiser summoner, and that includes the ACG.

Races include all core, asimar, tifling, android, ratfolk, orc. might be willing for other races with a GOOD argument for it. Kobolds might work.

two traits, one of which is a campaign trait. Please download the players guide on this site.

Story feats I am approaching with care. Best to discuss them first before using them.

No, and I emphasis this, no, 3pp. At all.

Alignments any non evil.

Background of about a paragraph. Your characters can be from Numeria or not. Please note that This AP is antagonistic towards the technic league, so designing characters towards joining that organisation is discouraged. Although a good "learn their evil ways, and reject them" story arc might be cool.

6 players, but several are reserved (three at last count) but this could change.

I would like a thug (BSF, lol), a skill bunny, a divine caster, a arcane caster and two others.

Envoy's Alliance

applying with this guy.

I would like to submit Vohnkar for the "thug" role.
Vhonkar
CN, Male, Oread
(I can go half-orc if that's not OK)
Bloodrager 1

Backstory:

Vohnkar was the captive of an especially vicious member of the Technic League who used him in countless terrible and agonizing experiments of science and magic. Vohnkar never knew the reasons for these tests for he had no memory of anything outside his dark cell or the bright agony of the lab. To this day he does not know if his memories were erased during his time in captivity or if he was created by the cruel man just to endure the endless torture. 7 years ago Vohnkar was able to escape his hell when a rival member of the League attacked the lab, laying it to waste. Crawling from the wreckage Vohnkar found his captor dying in the Ruins. Using a crude sword, formed, from a hunk of melted metal, Vohnkar ended the wretch’s life. Covered in rags and clutching the jagged blade, he stumbled out into the harsh lands of Numeria.
Vohnkar wandered the shattered lands until one evening he witnessed the flash of light in the distance that lead him to Torch. It was there he meet the Half-orc smith Claynack, who took him in and gave him his fist glimpse of a life not filled with pain and fear. While still naive to many of civilized society’s customs he has been able to integrate himself into Torch with the help of Claynack, hiding his stony, shard infused, skin to pass himself off as human to all but his closest friends.

Character Development:

Can’t decide between the Arcane or the Elemental [earth] bloodlines at the moment.
My idea is to develop Vohnkar from a bestial creature to a more “human” member of society. I’d like to move from CN to either CG or NG and even maybe move away from Bloodrager to a more refined class like Fighter or even Ranger.
I'd like to explore where my character came too from if possible like with flashbacks and/or dreams.

Thanks for your consideration.

Also a few other details

Drawbacks are allowed.

I like to modify the adventure a bit to suit my tastes, and to be a challenge to a larger group.

I would like two or more posts a day, but will work with the rate the group posts. At least one a day, though.

In your backgrounds I would like for you to have goals, and a personality description. Traits and drawbacks (if any) should be reflected in your background.

If you do not post I will bot your character. No response in a week and I'll drop you from the game, at a suitable point. Of course, this time can be extended for extenuating circumstances. Just let us know. I'm just a post away after all.

Any questions

@Rakdon. Interesting. A ratfolk who didn't start that way. BTW there are sizable communities of ratfolk in numeria. How do you relate to them. Also I take it due to your...distinct origin, you don't speak ratfolk.

@Vohnkar. You back ground is interesting, and oread is OK. I think the flashback, dreams idea is good and once the game starts (if you are chosen) I'll talk to you about it.

I'll dot in with an Oradin.

I'll get a background posted tomorrow.

Background:Elizabeth originally hails from Kaer Maga where she was born into the Ardoc family, a group of ruthless criminals who enforce their will through golems and other constructs. Elizabeth longed to be able to join her brothers in the golemworks but the Ardocs were male-dominated and Elizabeth was expected to be a 'good girl' and eventually marry for the benefit of the clan. Elizabeth rebelled against this and stole money to fund her journey to Numeria in the hopes of expanding her knowledge and eventually learning how to craft golems.

Argug of clan Gutwrencher, a full-orc Brawler (no archetype). 6'5, 300lbs of pure rippling muscle, covered with cuts, scrapes, gashes and scars from a battle trained youth, Argug is an impressive sight to behold.

Argug is in many ways your typical orc. Brutish, physically superior, mean spirited, and close minded. He's not a fan of technology, overall, and feels that automatons such as robots or androids are blights on the face of Golarion, a threat to "natural" creatures which should be wiped out. He just doesn't see the point of much of this new tech, when in his opinion, personal effort, dedication, and raw talent can accomplish so much in everyday life.

I prefer not to go with a huge backstory, but rather help develop my characters with time as the adventure goes on.

Argug is currently pending approval on another Iron Gods game, but I figured I'd give it a shot here too.

Argug left his tribe long ago, after most of them were wiped out by dwarves wielding guns in a raid on one of their outings. Ever since then he has been wary of technology, but he is also not ignorant of it's value. Though insistent that it is not necessary, he has carved himself a niche scavenging and selling various tech to others; though he draws the line at robots, androids, etc. He finds them to be absolute abominations. He isn't much of a fan of dwarves either, as a result of their role in bringing down his tribe, either, but then, what orc is?

Actually, Argug has a bit of a racial superiority complex, feeling that most other races are weaklings compared to orcs, but he has learned to live with them, mainly out of necessity to survive outside of his clan.

(I wouldn't PVP an android or dwarf player, but rather roleplay a disdainful attitude towards them, etc.)

Hey chill, this is Rata from the Barakus game. To the uninformed, I am one of the reserveds. I will most likely be filling one of the "other" slots.

As I mentioned in the other thread, concepts I am eyeballing at the moment are a ranger (galvanic saboteur), a slayer, or a dual pistol techslinger. I will look into things and get something up for you.

Hey rata

I'm thinking about a Summoner skill-monkey. ^^ Working on it now.

Presenting skill monkey Professor Anody Gearon. He is a bookish gear gnome more interested in academia than in his family's long standing project and left to become a respected Professor. His students call him Professor Nod but agree that he has a pleasing oratorical style and is a cheerful friendly fellow to boot. He grew tired of the books though and was in danger of starting to Bleach when his attention turned to Numeria. Fascinated he dove deep into his research and even tracked down Numerian refugees to interview them about the place and the technological wonders it contains. It took all of his considerable personal charm to convince these people to speak with him as they were understandably frightened of the totalitarian Technic League moving against them.

It is this research both social and academic and a surge of interest in his tinkering heritage that has allowed him to learn the Hallit and Androffan languages.

It isn't enough for his growing obsession so he's made the trek into Numeria itself and only shortly after his arrival the Torch goes out!

Taking the campaign trait Numerian Archaelogist.

Background:
Vudruk is a runt compared to his full blooded kin, but he is chosen by Varg. His tribe has sent him to train with the humans and others to learn the ways of their crafting so that he can better serve Varg, god of war and weapons. What they don't know is that he has been compromised by his contact with outsiders and no longer truly serves Varg. His allegiance to Brigh is a secret that he must keep if he is to avoid a gruesome death at orcish hands. Perhaps they even sent a minder to watch him...

I used the pfs standard of 150 gold starting, which thanks to the ridiculous cost of falchions, barely covered the basics. If that should be different just say the word.

On a side note, any chance of lumping weaponsmithing and armorsmithing in together? They really aren't different trades. Either way he is going to be able to work on both, just a matter of how focused he has to be.

Thanks

Let's see, I have this one in another recruitment that should be ending in a few days and if not selected I would like to have a backup plan. Here is Linpul the gnome hunter. She wields reach weapons while using her verminous companion as a wandering flanking bonus to anyone that needs it or teamwork feats to those who share any with the gnome. She is sort of a skill monkey only lacking craft (mechanics) and linguistics to have a majority of the skills for Technologist.

Here's an Inspired Blade Swashbuckler for consideration. OK skills, decent face, decent thief.

Before I make a super official submission, a couple question.

1: Would you allow the fencing grace feat at the start of the game? It's a feat to be included in the Advance Class Guide Origins to be released in a couple month.

Spoiler:

FENCING GRACE (COMBAT)
Your extreme style and fluid rapier forms allow you to use agility rather than brute force to fell your foes.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus (rapier).
Benefit:When wielding a rapier one-handed, you can add your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to that weapon’s damage. The rapier must be one appropriate for your size.
In addition, if you have the panache class feature, you gain a +2 bonus to CMD against attempts to disarm you of your rapier while you have at least 1 panache point.

2: Would I be able to use the Local Ties trait as mentioned to have Khonnir Baine be the characters adoptive father, or do you want to avoid that?

Fluff:

For two decades Talg and Jack were the best of friends in the village. The other children, the often receiving end of Talg’s plans, knew they wouldn’t be able to trick the conniving dwarf. Instead they focused on Jack. Having purchased a series of fireworks from a caravan passing through town, they planned to ignite them near Jack’s home. But when they set off the explosives, instead they veered off path, lighting the small house aflame.

Villagers came to see what had happened, and to help extinguish the house. But luck was not with them. The flames had spread quickly to the doors and windows. It didn't seem they would be able to get Jack and Tairi out. But Talg wasn't willing to give up. Quite nimble, he managed to climb a nearby tree and leap over to the roof. Sending a rope down the chimney, he had Jack and Tairi climb up through to escape the blaze even as the fire attempted to engulf the house. The two of them almost safely off, he had them leap to the villagers to escape but the roof caved in. Talg an Tairi fell into the blaze.

Jack ran to the house, ready to charge in despite the fire, held back by others to prevent him from rushing to his death. He fell to his knees, watching the house be consumed.

some month passed and eventually a traveling circus came through town. After some fierce negotiation by Talg’s father, eventually the circus set up for a few days instead of traveling on through.

He decided to join and travel with them. There is learn to practise the bulging magic he knew as well as to defend himself with a simple weapon.

He played mostly during the comedy show as a Samourai going on adventure where funny and trouble would find him. (Comic relief) He eventually earned the his stage name of Samurai-Jack

A few years have passed but the circus revenu started to dwindle, until it eventual broke apart. Each an everyone going their separate ways

Having ruffle one to many people. He decided it was time to leave once gain and therefore made his way into the port city.

He ended up a few month later finding a job at the prestigious Morgrave university as a replacement assistant librarian. He job was to find books asked by teachers and students and to re filed them once done. His natural easy going and charming self made him an easier person to talk to. Professor Dannigan took a special liking in him and from time to time in late after noon when Jack would bring him books to his office he would ask about the content, or question about the professor's research. And between working his ass of for two years (saving money) and a grant given by the University 5 years later Jack was not only able to enroll and to Graduate in Archaeology / History with a minor in Practical Arcane Magic , mentored by the old professor.

And hello again DM :)

Presenting Valt Skyddade, a long lost scholar that got somehow buried in a lost ruin, that survived thanks to the intervention of a mysterious angelic being:

Valt Skyddade

Would you be willing to allow a Changeling? Basic idea is for an Animist Shaman for whom the call of the spirits has drowned out the call of her mother (though she thinks they might have just drowned her).

Changeling would be a fit I think due to the proximity to the River Kingdoms where hags are aplenty and the fact that Numeria used to be a River Kingdom as well and there are no doubt still hags remaining there. That and I just really like the concept of the Changeling and Numeria, a land of technology, could be seen as a decent place to escape to if you're a Changeling from the River Kingdoms and want to escape from your mother.

Hmm, with so many people keen on submitting smart/intelligent characters, I think I might submit something with more of a charisma focus. Currently looking at an Eldritch Scion Magus, which, while it doesn't really fit into the initial "roles" outlined in the OP (Usually when someone wants an arcane class, its a full caster sadly), still sounds like a neat character to play!

Cuan I will accept a changeling.

Ginganinja a magus would be fine, as would a bard or bloodrager. I am easy on the role specifics. Also two characters can be any role.

This is sixteenbiticon's alias for this campaign. I have settled on playing an Android Slayer. I will probably go the dual-wield route, although that's not completely set in stone as I haven't sifted through the mechanics of the build just yet.

That's about as far as I've gotten. I will be taking either Robot Slayer (to be cool and ironic) or Against the Technic League for my campaign trait. And probably Reactionary (I know, I know) as my other.

I just wanted to get a post up to give a heads up as to what direction I am heading.

Hi, this is Morti from the Barakus game!

I'm looking at a ratfolk alchemist, possibly alchemist(grenadier)?, as skill-rodent & kaboomer; Will stat up tonight or tomorrow.

Shadow Lodge

Okay looks like we have Morti with a possible ratfolk alchemist, Rata with his android slayer, and whatever I end up cooking up this morning.
I'll see what springs to mind.

Any word on when you guys want to start up the AP and when a decision will be made? While my character is pretty good with the skills I also want him to be an able buffer/debuffer for the party.

@GM chillblame
what about racial heritage Variants?, i.e. Tiefling(demonspawn)
Alternate racial traits?

and since your allowing aasimars or tieflings, will you allow less powerful racial choices the opportunity to bolster themselves using the race building options in Pathfinder RPG Advanced Race Guide?

Deciding on either, Bloodrager, Brawler, Bard, or Sorcerer as a class.

Is this a crime?

No, but it's a courtesy that You should mention it to the GM before or as you submit your character.

I as a GM found this very annoying when I pick some players and then they mentioned they got in another game.

just double interested in the AP

Hey, they have the right to do overbooking in the recruitment, so we too :D

It's lucky you're keeping us honest then!

I doubt the GM will not give a look the profile of any character/player he thinks interesting for his game, like you did. And the way to put things, can be taken as pretty harsh.

What happened to you is rare, and only when both recruitments ends at the same day.

Sovereign Court

Introducing Valia, the Elven Fighter

Objective:
Skilled battlefield terror who will combine (Cavalier) brains and (Fighter) brawn on the battlefield to overcome the Magocrazies and their misrule

Background:
Contrary to common perception, the elves of Kyonin do train some of their young to be competent melee combatants. Tradition is very clear – the homeland will be guarded by not just Bow, but Blades as well. Often it takes some time for the elven body to adapt, but with conditioning exercises throughout his childhood, Valia’s body grew and changed.

Aratheus Valia’Ianaia, the only son of two elven envoys who had at long last returned to Kyonin to raise their child. The forests were idyllic, and their son grew up among his kind, climbing trees and eagerly devouring his lessons. When the family was ready to depart, they brought their son with them, educating him to one day fill their roles as traveling guides to the impatient and short-lived neighboring nations.

This time, he has travelled ahead of them, to Numeria. Valia’s been here for five years now, and he’s not happy with the shape of things. About a year ago, the rest of the family arrived to set up residence in Starfall.

Calistrian, soldier, envoy, and would-be liberator, “Valia” is all of these things. He has learned the balance of pain and pleasure, the value of death and liberty. He has kept his disgust and disquiet in private, so far.

Personality:
Easygoing but quiet, sensual, and creative. He thinks deeply upon everyday situations. Valia has a bone to pick with the Technic League for their misrule of the Kellids & Ratfolk.

yes to racial alternative traits. And no, no race building bolstering.

She didn't get picked for the other Iron Gods AP, so here she is for Round 2 ^_^

As a summary, Jean is:
- A technological fanatic. Loves tinkering with devices but practically a novice in exposure.
- Usually talkative when not tinkering, where she talks to 'it' instead.
- Main skills will be Disable Device, Use Magic Device, Craft (mechanical), and some Knowledge. Not much on other CHA skills though...
- Role is utilitarian, despite being an Arcanist. She'll only be picking up a few damaging spells.

EDIT: I'll update her ability scores when selected. She's currently at 15pnts only, but the general theme will remain the same.
EDIT2: She has the Technologist feat BTW.

It did not just happen once, but three times.

And one of them ended a day earlier and did not get told they got in another til a day after I pick them.

Recruitment is looking good. It will probably end after Sunday.
