Thorn Slivertip |

Dotting in. Thanks Agatha.

Urga the Ogre Prophet |

Assuming we purchased the gear that we listed in the previous discussion thread, I think we're ready to head back to the lodge.

Rikael Ashenstone |

Indeed. If Rikael is allowed to purchase the few items I listed then I'm good to go. We may want to invest in some more acid flasks or alchemists fire but other than that, Rikael is set.

Sturion Stoutheart |

What I'd like to do would likely take too long...so...
If there'd be a wand o' healin', I'd be mighty glad ta pony up a buncha my loot...if'n not...where d'they sell healin' potions in these parts?

Sildur Farwind |

Sildur steps into the smithy with Dru close at his heels, "Good day Isker. We've come to see if you've got anything new since we last saw you? I believe our swordsman Rikael is looking for something in the way of a well made cold iron longsword."
After seeing the other wears laid out, the ulfen pulls the blacksmith aside, "I was actually hoping to talk to you about a rather special project. Tracking these fey, we've seen more danger than I'm keen on...", he looks at Dru beside him, "Dru's as fearless a companion as a man could ever hope for but I worry about him. I was wondering if you might be keen to take on a commission? The armor I wear is sturdy enough and hold's to the tenants of my order. I know wood might be a little out of your comfort zone but I wondered if you might be willing to craft a similar set for the young bear? I'm willing to pay upfront as there is no guarantee we'll make it through what's to come but if we do I'm sure Dru will have more than earned it. What do you say?"

chillblame |

The blacksmith puffs his cheeks a little as he considers Sildurs request. I 'm sorry young fella, but I wouldn't know where to start with wood. I could fashion one of leather or hide though. That's ok for druid wear I have been told. Do the leather up in a couple of days. I would have to, ah, measure him. Won't object will he? It is a he isn't it?
Turning to the rest of the part, he says I have just received a few cold iron items, mostly common weapons. daggers, maces, long swords and arrow heads. Ordered them in a while ago. For that ranger group in the woods. Heard they will no longer need em. You can buy them if ye want.
Alas Sturion, the temple of erastil has no wands of cure, but it does sell cure light wound potions

Rikael Ashenstone |

Rikael looks over the cold iron wares and asks
Are there any rapiers in the shipment? Feybane he taps the longsword strapped to his hip serves well enough but a rapier is important to my faith...

chillblame |

Isker looks around, rapier? Not a weapon the rangers use in general. I do have this beauty here, crafted for a local noble who changed his mind. But it is not cold iron.
Isker pulls a rapier of the wall and unsheaths it. It is well balanced and sharp. He wanted a blade fit for enchantment, but then found a better one fighting in a crypt somewhere. Paid for most. my makin' costs, so I could sell it to you for, say 170 gold. Oh another thing. If you go to the apothecary, you can buy cold iron blanches for your weapons. That will give you a few hits as cold iron. Better than nothin'

Rikael Ashenstone |

Rikael takes the rapier from the man tenderly, and tests its weight and balance.
Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Well made indeed. It may not be cold iron, but it is well worth the price. I'll take it, and bring it to bear against the evil that is plaguing this place. My thanks.
He pays the blacksmith with his part of the loot money, and straps the rapier on his belt next to Feybane and Kegtap.

Urga the Ogre Prophet |

We previously discussed purchasing the following:
CLW wand - 750
Healer's Kit - 50
Cold Weather Gear (6*8) - 48
3 x Medium Tents = 45
Total: 893gp (1568gp remaining)
Are we still good with this? If Urga is the only one who needs cold weather gear, then we can add back 40 gp.
Subtracting 170 gp for Rikael's cold iron rapier leaves 1398 gp.
Urga will ask the blacksmith if a masterwork falchion is available.

chillblame |

There are no wands of clw in town for sale, but all the other gear is.
At Urgas request, isker sratches his head, looking around. ah here it is. he pulls out a scabaded falchion from out the back. this has been sitting hear for a long while. Used to belong to a ranger I knew. I'll give it a sharp up, and a polish. Good work this looking at the blade he says, two hundred gold, and it's yours.
divide out the purchased gear, and we will move on. Sturion are you getting the healing stuff?

Rikael Ashenstone |

After asking for directions to the apothecary, Rikael heads that way, to pick up some of the aforementioned cold iron blanches.
He knocks on the door, and when it is opened, he introduces himself.
Hello there, I am Rikael Ashenstone. Isker sent me here, he said you had some cold iron blanches for weapons? I am interested in purchasing some. Too many fey in the woods at the moment, I'm afraid... And my friends and I are headed right back out very soon. Also, have you any alchemists fire or flasks of acid we can purchase as well? I think we may be facing a troll or two in the near future.
He speaks with a merry tone and a bright look in his eyes, which may be confusing considering he's talking about going out into a frozen forest and fighting with deadly enemies.

Urga the Ogre Prophet |

Urga nods at the Blacksmith, "Yes sir, thank you. The workmanship is exquisite."
Urga pays the 200 gp.
Three cure light wounds potions, one cure moderate wounds potion, one shield of faith potion.
Also two scrolls of cure light wounds
Let's purchase all the healing available (200gp). Adding back the CLW wand cost and subtracting the cost for the healing and the masterwork falchion leaves 1788 gp.

Thorn Slivertip |

Thorn will await the rest of the party at his house.

Sildur Farwind |

Sorry for the absence guys, got hammered by my new job.
Sildur nods at Isker's words, "I had thought that might be the case. Some well sown leather will be acceptable in that case. How much would such an unusual set cost me?"
I agree about grabbing all the healing available. I'd say 4 weapon blanches should be reasonably sufficient if that many are available?

Sildur Farwind |

Ok, so let get this show back on the road!
I'd say we grab 5 cold iron weapon blanches for 100gp even, Sound good?
I'm assuming a set of barding for Dru will cost the usual double standard? 20gp in this case?
Sildur pays Isker for the commission and sparing a quick pet for Dru heads out to find the others so they might get underway.

chillblame |

rikael, ten cold iron and silver blanches, 3 adamantium blanches and one ghost dirt one
The party assembles at thorns pkace early in the morning. The sun is only just peaking over the horizon. Thorn is waiting for you, sitting on a wood chopping stump, looking a little uncomfortable in his new winter gear. took yer time. Sunlight is burning he says in a grouchy voice.
when you approach the area of snow and cold, you noticed that it has expanded it's reach by a couple of hundred paces. At this rate it will engulf heldren in a few days. The cold is bitter, despite the blue skies.
It takes you a couple of hours to get back to where you were. The forest looks cold and quiet, as if waiting for something, with no wind at all. It is quiet, broken only by the clump of snow falling off a tree.
Thorn looks disturbed as you travel.

Sildur Farwind |

Sildur seems emboldened by the night's rest and the brisk winter air, despite the unnatural bent to it. He moves with purpose as the group returns to the Sentinel's Lodge.
When they near the remains of the former bandit's campfire on the road, the ulfen moves up to walk alongside Thorn at little ahead of the party, "Is something troubling you Thorn? We head into great danger it is true but I feel there is more to your concern?"

chillblame |

Thorn shakes his head as he walks, as if trying to rid himself of an annoying insect. Sildur, Listen. There are no birds singing, no animals moving. And...The spirits are troubled. There are new ones, driving the old out. This cold is...not just weather. It's an attack. You're a druid. Look around you. (please roll a know nature)

Agatha, overhearing the conversation, says What you feel is the power of the winter witches. In the land of irisen, they keep it in perpetual winter. This is their work I fear. But how did it get here? Maybe that fey lord, izore will know. We must try to get him talking. Fey love the sound of their voices, and winter fey are a boastful lot.

Rikael Ashenstone |

Aye. He needs to talk. The biggest question is even why they are here? This is a long way from Irrisen... Rikael pipes in, keeping a wary eye on the trees.
This whole thing reeks of foul malice. I always thought that if I went into an adventure against foes like this, I'd feel like a hero.... But this just feels... Wrong.
His hand rests unconsciously on Feybane as he speaks.

Sildur Farwind |

Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Well that's just sad...
The ulfen shrugs, "The weather is wrong, no question. But still, it reminds me of my younger years, roaming the lands of my ancestors..."

Urga the Ogre Prophet |

"Regardless of why the witches are here, we must stop them. The supernatural winter will only end once the witches and their fey minions have been defeated."
Once back at the lodge Urga will cautiously watch for any sign that the bandits or fey have returned.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Sturion Stoutheart |

Ugh. I'm thinkin' we need ta get somewhere. This is lookin' ta get nasty.
Sturion will head for the bridge, listening for any opposition, but in a hurry.

Sildur Farwind |

Sildur raises a hand to stall the dwarf, "From the map we found, it seems at though Izoze is camped only a few hours travel down that path. We should prepare some of our weapon blanches for the fight. I will feel better Knowing I can strike a true blow on the fey if needed."
Is that right? It was a while ago but from what I understood, it seemed about the same distance to Izoze from the lodge as from the Heldren to the Lodge, yes?
Oh, what time of day is it now that we've arrived at the lodge?

Urga the Ogre Prophet |

Urga nods at Sildur,"Yes, let's continue down the path then. We can blanch the weapons at the lodge."
Urga follows Sturion across the bridge.
