I feel for you on the hectic life bit. I've recently had to step down from running my game on here, and am stepping out of the other games I'm involved in here for similar reasons.

Not having any idea on where to go from this point, and without knowing what waits ahead of them, Trusk becomes more wary of the situation.

In a whisper he says, "We should be careful. I didn't scout this area before, and I don't know what's waiting for us ahead. And opening that door might just make the zombie around the corner aware of our presence. So if you plan on opening it, do it quietly."

I'm good with my position.

This stream goes deeper into the cave. I didn't get a chance to follow it before, though, so I don't know what waits on the other end. Going away from the stream takes you to a small back entrance, and a few more zombies.

Well, that's both interesting and kinda disappointing. I didn't know Paizo had a profanity filter. While I can see why they do, since they try to be family-friendly and all that, I kinda wish it was an option that you could enable or disable in your account settings or something.

Kinda figured there was a reason. But I've had players disappear from other games that I'm in when posting just barely lagged for a week, and even had a GM disappear without warning before.

So i figured I'd check in and make sure it was known that I'm sticking with it.

I'm still here. You guys just decided to go on a posting spree while I was asleep. I was just going to cast Guidance again anyway, so that works.

Trusk continues to cast Guidance, offering the blessings of the Lord in Iron to Wylliam as he remains unable to enter battle himself.

You know, I really don't understand why Disrupt Undead isn't on the cleric spell list. It's just about the only damage dealing cantrip that really fits as a cleric spell, but we don't get it. Instead, we get a lot of cantrips that really don't help much in combat.

RL isn't playing nice with me either. I got hit with that snowstorm early yesterday morning and it dumped about 8 inches of snow over the course of 3 or 4 hours. Plow trucks didn't really do anything until about 3 hours after it stopped snowing, by which time I had already tried to drive home and gotten stuck. Putting chains on my tires didn't really help either, because my little econobox sits so low that I was pushing snow.

It's now been 16 hours since the snow first started and, aside from the interstates, the roads still look like they haven't been touched. A couple weeks ago, when we got warnings for 3-4 inches of snow, the plows were out two days beforehand, throwing salt. This time, when we got warnings for 6"+, they had a single truck out for the entire county and it didn't even come out until almost 3 hours after the snow started.

Sometimes, I really hate my state and how bass-ackwards it can be.

Just so I know, about how high is the ceiling in the regular parts of the cave, and how low is a "low ceiling"?

Trusk takes the blow from the first zombie in stride, though it hurt like hell. In retaliation, he swings at it with all his might and wrath. After it hits, he takes a step back to where the last zombie exploded.

Well, maybe with the charge it'll confirm, but I'm doubting it. Still a solid hit that should, hopefully, drop it.

I've placed myself slightly in front of the group. I didn't want to put myself at the original 15ft distance yet, since that would put me right beside the first zombie and combat would have been likely to initiate prior to that. Also, initiative seems to hate me. I'll post an action once some other people have, since I'm last in line again.

Trusk kindly declines Alexis' crossbow.
"Ranged weapons aren't really my idea of a good time, so you keep it. You might just need it more than I will. Besides, if we take things slow and careful, we should be fine."

Trusk will lead the way into the cave, moving in a defensive stance and ready for the attacks that he knows are coming.

Position me 15' in front of the group, that way I'm inside the light source, but I'm also still scouting ahead a little bit.

"I didn't hear anything. Well, at least not anything unusual for a cave full of dead kobolds. And that place is definitely full. We're going to want to take it slowly going through there, make sure we don't attract too much unwanted attention."

Trusk grabs a torch out of his pack and starts using the handle to scratch a very crude drawing of the cave into the dirt.
Basically single straight lines for the tunnels and circles for the caverns. Not enough to tell much about the actual geography or any real distances.

"There's one about 20 feet inside the cave and a second about 10 feet past him so we can expect to fight them together. Then it opens up a bit into a cavern, where I counted 5 or 6 total by a caved-in wall. A small offshoot tunnel heads into another cavern with another 6 or 7 in it, along with a small stream that flows deeper into the cave. In all, there's 15 or so in the areas I was able to reach."

"On the West side of the cave there's a small opening to the outside. There were also drag marks leading out of the cave there. I suspect that's where that false body was dragged out. I didn't check it out more because I was afraid of my spell wearing off and leaving me stranded in there."

Trusk stands up from scratching his crude map and packs his torch away again.

"I saw that cat skulking around in there too. I told him we were getting ready to come in and clear the place out, and that he should follow me so he could help. Since he isn't here, I'm going to guess he's still sniffing around in there for whatever reason."
