"Wonder all you want Bander, but if you try to satisfy your curiosity, it'll probably be the last thing you do."

Torin wants no part of the tower, and avoids even looking at it.

"No distractions. Let's get our business done and collect our pay."

"Well let's deliver this wagon first. I have no real interest in paying for it's storage. And perhaps delivering the books as well. Let's get the work done and then comes the rest and relaxation."

Let's divest ourselves of our responsibilities first. If I recall correctly, time was of the essence.

Thanks for letting us know.

We'll be here when you get your mojo back, and if you don't, no worries. You mental health is more important.

Linking up with Fuma, Torin leads the way back to the camp. Once they link back up with the rest of the group, he gives his report. "Seems like the road itself is clear all the way tot he city, but I did get another report of a floating mountain. This came from a dwarf. A stout fellow. Don't know what to make of it, but I guess we should be on our guard."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Rizzenmagnus:
I just spaced on the fact that Torin is a hill dwarf. Consider it a slip of the tongue, or ignore it.

If there is no more information to be had, Torin thanks the dwarf and heads out to find Fuma, before making his way back to camp.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

In town:
"A flying mountain, aye? A mountain of stone over my head is usually a comforting thought, but not when it's no longer attached to the ground! Which way was it headed?"

Torin nods to the response and takes a sip of his own pint, "Besides that, the road to Palanthus is trouble free? If any road can be said to be trouble free these days."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

In town:

Torin raises an eyebrow, "Did you now? If you had to guess, what do you think it was? Are we talking a floating rock here, or more like a building?"

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

"Aye, that would work fine. Not much of one for socializing, but I can keep an eye on Fuma while we try to get some word on the route ahead."

Assuming, no one objects, Torin will head into town and pop into a few inn common rooms, buy a few drinks for people and ask about the road to Palanthus.

Gather info: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

lol, looks like Torin is in rare form tonight.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin couldn't help but enjoy the simple monotony of uneventful days on the road. As far as he was concerned, this was the best of all possible outcomes. Any job that got you paid without having to bleed was a good one.

"Boring is good. Nobody ever died from being bored, despite common kender belief. That being said, there might be merit is sending a few of us into town to get some information about the road ahead. Forewarned is forearmed, and all that."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin gives the tired mules a good brush down. "You did good work today."

"Everyone who can, should take a turn at the watch. If we need Fuma sharper, then let her have the first or last watch, so at least her sleep in uninterrupted."

Watch order doesn't really matter to me, but we should just set an order and keep it day-to-day. If we can double up, it's probably a good idea. Torin's perception is +2, so it's not that likely he'll even see trouble coming.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

"Ugh, just roll it into the ditch. We can't waste time with every stray that we come across. We're under a tight time pressure here. Gotta save the world remember?"

Torin starts to get the team ready to leave.

Just to be clear, Torin is super anti-gully dwarf, but personally I think a gully dwarf sorcerer is truly inspired and look forward to seeing it play out.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin wrinkles his nose it disgust.

"Ugh. Don't touch it. They have fleas and carry disease."

At Aeleni's question he says, "It's a gully 'dwarf'," using his fingers to put air quotes around the word dwarf. "They're not dangerous, but if like any vermin, if you back them into a corner they'll bite."

"Shove it out of the way and let's get out of here, before it upsets the animals."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Overland movement for an unencumbered human is 3 miles and hour. I assume that for a dwarf/kender it's 2. So the mules aren't any slower than the party. The mules also have the endurance feat to help with their CON saves to prevent the nonlethal damage and I guess that in a pinch, we could always heal the nonlethal damage to remove the fatigue.

Torin pats one of the mules' necks. "Can't say that I'm any faster than these fellows and besides we can't just abandon the cargo. We'll have to push the team hard, but they'll get us there."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2
Duatha Sunshear wrote:

But if any part of this is true, we must get to Palanthas and warn Astinus, he may not be able to interfere but he can certainly put us in contact with those who can aid us!"

Torin furrows his brow.

"I thought you said the book tells the future. What is there to do? Hasn't it already happened? Or will happen?"

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin shrugs, "Seems a bit above my pay scale, but I guess I shouldn't make any long term plans."

"If the book is real, then the world ends in two years, so there's not exactly a rush. If it's a fake, then there's nothing to worry about at all. Regardless, we're under contract and should be about our business."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin takes to his bed and assuming an uneventful night, he rises just before dawn to prepare and make it down promptly for breakfast.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Ya it's a pretty neat kit. Won't be putting up big numbers, but bouncing around the battlefield, shoving enemies and knocking them over should be fun.

Torin leans over the man. "Go sleep it off and be thankful that you're living to regret your decision tonight."

If all the fight is out of him, Torin goes back to his seat at the table.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Normally they do, but the siegebreaker archetype gets:

Breaker Rush (Ex):

At 1st level, a siegebreaker can attempt bull rush or overrun combat maneuvers without provoking attacks of opportunity. When he performs either combat maneuver, he deals an amount of bludgeoning damage equal to his Strength bonus (minimum 1). If he has Improved Bull Rush or Improved Overrun, the damage dealt by the appropriate maneuver increases by 2 and he adds any enhancement bonus from his armor or shield (though such enhancement bonuses do not stack, if both armor and shield are magic).

This ability replaces the feat gained at 1st level.

which prevents Torin from taking AoOs from those maneuvers.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Not particularly surprised to see trouble brewing, Torin moves to intercept.

"That's far enough friend. Best go sleep it off before you do something you'll regret."

Ready a bullrush if the man steps closer the Bander.

Readied action:

Bullrush: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 3 bludgeoning dmg
If that hits then he'll try to smack the guy with his armor spikes and overrun him.
Spikes: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Overrun: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 3 bludgeoning dmg

Bull Rush:

If your attack is successful, your target is pushed back 5 feet. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD you can push the target back an additional 5 feet. You can move with the target if you wish but you must have the available movement to do so. If your attack fails, your movement ends in front of the target.

Overrun:

When you attempt to overrun a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack. If your target does not avoid you, make a combat maneuver check as normal. If your maneuver is successful, you move through the target’s space. If your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD by 5 or more, you move through the target’s space and the target is knocked prone. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

"Ale and the stew will suit me fine."

Torin is content to keep a low profile and not announce the party's business to the whole common room. He keeps his attention divided between the minotaur and the kender, watching for any serious trouble brewing.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin surveys the common room before taking a seat. He tries to keep his back to a wall and keeps and eye out for trouble.

"I don't expect we'll run into any problems here, but it's best keep the details of our business to ourselves. Oh, and everyone keep an extra eye on your coin purses. Double the kender means double the hands in pockets where they don't belong."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

I guess it depends if the roadside inns are situated every 16 miles, because if that's the case, it probably makes more sense to stop at the inns instead of roughing it.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

"Let's get this show on the road."

Torin packs up his mule and ties her lead to the back of the wagon.

Who's carrying our half charged wand of CLWs?

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

"That I can do." STR 17

Torin puts his back into it, but makes sure to lift with his legs... He lets out a grunt of effort, "Should have just had them move it right into the back of your wagon."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Just popping in to say that's still following along. Torin is just indifferent to what is in the box. Transporting illicit goods doesn't faze him much. He's done worse for less pay.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Personally, I'm a big fan of random, situationally useful magic items. So, that's a thumbs up from me

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin rolls his eyes,

"Zak, you should know that it is rude to pry into a lady's private matters. Does it really matter what's the box? Do you plan on reading the documents we're transporting as well?"

He gives Nareem a sly look, "Of course, if we were transporting anything unusual, then that might carry some extra risk. The type of risk that commands a premium."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin doesn't bother to look in the trunk.

"To be honest lass, I'd rather not know. In my line of business, it's best to avoid those kinds of details. Being paid to take the trunk from point A to point B is good enough for me."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin, That beard. is it to compensate for your short stature or are you actually proud of it?

"No lass, you've got your stereotypes mixed up. A dwarf's beard is a mark of virility and as you can see, mine is quite impressive."

Seeing the cargo, Torin is a little surprised. "I must admit, I was expecting something a bit more substantial."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

I definitely didn't catch the gist of the initial proposition.

Torin thinks over the full offer, "I can't really argue with the opportunity to make a little extra coin while traveling to where we are already headed. Not too keen on any liability we might have for lost or damaged goods that are incurred during travel though."

He shrugs and bows to the will of the collective.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

@Bander: I'm not overly interested in another escort job. The idea with the wagon was to ride in and carry our stuff, not walk beside, but that might just be me.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Ok.

We can get a half charged wand for 375+10%, or 59 gold each.

If anyone doesn't have it right now, I'm sure I could spot you.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

When information regarding the lack of wagon reaches him, Torin just says, "Odd that there's no wagon to be found, but no matter. I guess we won't be traveling in style."

With that sorted, he will finish some last minute purchases for the trip.

@DM: Looking to get a packmule(8gp), pack saddle (5gp), harness (2gp), Tent(10gp), Blanket and bedroll(6sp), 50ft silk rope(10gp), 2 weeks of dwarven trail rations (28gp), (Total: 63.6gp)

To Aelani:

"Yes, it would be best to be prepared. We can always sell what we don't use to recoup some of the investment."

The next morning Torin will work to coordinate the party's preparations.

Who wants to do a gather information check to get us a bead on a wagon set up for this crazy road trip?

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

We are getting a writ for a payment upon delivery. So unfortunately, no cash up front.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

I mean Torin can finance the whole thing. I only spent like half the starting coin kitting him out. It's more of an in game thing to chip in. So if people need to take out a loan, he's willing to cover them and his interest rates are reasonable.

On the other hand, part of me thinks it would be funny to have Torin charge people to use the wand. A literal mercenary healthcare provider.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

To Aeleni:

Dwarvish:
"Freely offered and Freely accepted." He takes the coin.

To Duatha:

Dwarvish:
"Well some people like to be in charge. It just makes life difficult if you're trying to protect someone who won't listen to you. Anyways, it sounds like we are in agreement. Hopefully this will be a milk run, but if not, I'll do my best to put myself between you and danger."

Torin will spend the rest of the evening discussing logistics and sizing up his new colleagues.

Ideally by the end of the evening, everyone knows in general what the others are capable of. If anyone is planning on keeping their skills, spellcasting, etc, close to their chest, let me know, so I don't assume that it's come up in conversation.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

For convenience I suggest we move the logistics discussion ooc.

If we wanted to get a heavy wagon and a couple of light horse to pull it, it will set us back 250gp. That's for a wagon big enough to hold us all. We could get a smaller one and one horse for 125, but half of us would have to walk. I think would be kind of hilarious, though we need someone with handle animal to drive.

In regards to the wand of CLW, that is just good adventure planning. Though I guess maybe a touch metagamy considering the nature of the contract. Still a partially charged one would be much cheaper than getting potions, even with Rizzen's 10% markup, a wand with 10 chargers would be only 165gp, which is like 3 potions.

Though, I guess this is all moot if you're all broke.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

To Aeleni:

Aelani:
"I hear what you are saying and I appreciate the information, but I don't betray my employers. A dwarf's word is his bond. Of course if you to outbid Duatha, then you would be my employer."

To Duatha:

Dwarvish:
"Standard rate for mercenary for is three silver a day. Cost goes up for dangerous work. Since we're already going to be travelling together, the standard rate seems a bit much. For a silver a day, I'll watch your back on this little excursion, but you don't get to tell me what to do."

To the group,

"Since we will be travelling together on this job, did we want to pool our resources for a bit of comfort? Maybe pitch in for a wagon?"

I usually get a baggage mule, but are people planning on getting horses?

@Rizzen: Is buying a wand of CLWs possible? Assuming people have enough coin to pitch in for one?

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin gives the Magistrate a nod of appreciation.

He looks at the pair of elves with suspicion, feeling like there was some sort of hustle being tried here.

Dwarvish:
"We'll actually, the court is paying me to transport the documents and book. They're not paying me to watch your back. True, you'll get the benefit of being in my general area, but if you expect me to take an arrow for you, it's not going to be for free."

Two jobs. Two paychecks. :)

"So you're willing to hire seven people to do the job of one person? That seems a little inefficient, but hey, it's your money. Besides, can't say I've ever been to Palanthas, supposed to be quite the city, so you can count me in."

With that decided, Torin starts planning what supplies he'll need for such a trip.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Torin lets out a snort of amusement at the old man being led out of the courtroom.

At the magistrate's proposal he cocks an eyebrow and runs a hand through his beard, pensively. "In my experience, when someone claims a job is going to be easy, it never is. But work is work, and a bit of a paid vacation away from that old coot sounds pretty tempting right about now. So, colour me interested, but let's hear the details first."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

With nothing to say that hasn't been said before, Torin just quietly follows the Magistrate's instructions. Still, he can't help but smile at the dressing down this Zifnab was receiving. Perhaps things would be different this time around.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

To Duatha, Torin says, "Aye true enough. I can keep trouble away, at least until your coin runs out. We can hammer out the details once we get out of here."

When the guard shows up, he gives a nod in agreement to the man's proposal.

"You've got my word guardsman. I've got no interest in dragging out these proceeding any longer than they already are. Let's just get this farce over with. Again."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

I would imagine that all the PCs know each other's names at the this point, if only from them being read out before the magistrate.

"Oh none of this is a coincidence. I don't know what it is though. A scam of some sort? Is this harassment supposed to be leveraged against us? For my part, I'd never seen that old man before. I don't know what I ever did to catch his ire."

"At this point, it might as well be called fate. I could even believe that crazy old man been touched by some cruel god of mischief, because this all has to be some kind of joke. Not that I'm laughing."

At Duatha's offer of employment, Torin raises an eyebrow. "Protection? Aye, I've done that kind of work before. What do you need protecting from? Heading into trouble, or trouble heading your way?"

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

I'm GMT-8 (NA: PST).

Combat rules seem fine. Do people that miss their turn get skipped or botted?

I would be fine with a discord server, through I'm not too concerned about the Paizo servers imploding again.

I'm fine with a R rating, but I guess it kind of depends on what gives it the R.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

A dark-haired dwarf stands rigid, arms crossed, his face a thundercloud. Through gritted teeth, he growls, "The Market? Oh no, not me. Me, I'm going to follow that daft old man home and put some fear in him."

He buries his fists in his beard and tugs it in frustration. "Six jobs. This nonsense has cost me six jobs. Every time I line something up, the next thing you know, along comes the watch and I'm in here again. You know what the word on the street is now? That I'm 'unreliable'. That I'm a 'liability'. In a matter of weeks that old idiot has ruined a reputation I spent years building."

"At this rate, I'm going to have to rejoin the army." He grimaces, "That's if I can ever get out of the city."

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Checking in.

Looking forward to some time travel shenanigans.

Here's Fanguar's submission.

The crunch is in the profile, but in brief, he's a Hill dwarf fighter built around bull rush and overrun. I envision him running around, knocking baddies over. A bit more battle field control, than pure DPS.

Brief background below. Hopefully, I've got my timeline correct.

Background:

Torin hails originally from Kayolin and was one of the dwarven soldiers that aided the Solanthus refugees that fled the city when it fell during the war of the lance. He also took part in the hit-and-run tactics against the occupying dragonarmy alongside the Solamnic cavalry.

Following the war, he retired from active duty and relocated to Solanthus to try to benefit from the post-war economic activity. For the last several years he’s been using the skills he learned in the army to earn a living, mostly doing protection work for powerful individuals, usually merchants, but as long as they are paying, he doesn’t ask too many questions. Between long term gigs, he signs up for caravan guard work, or serves hired muscle where needed.

Dark haired and stocky even for a dwarf, Torin cuts a profile like a boulder. Though pragmatic and mercenary to his core, he is still haunted by his experiences among the refugees during the war. He knows that you can lose all you have in an instant, so has a soft spot for the city’s downtrodden and tends to be much more charitable with this coin then you would expect from someone as seemingly menacing as him.
