correct. no money until you get to palanthas.
and yes, steel is gold.
ive read in the annotated chronicles that Weis and hickman wanted to try to do something different with currencies, to really help set krynn apart from other campaign worlds, and Hickman felt that this was another way to do it. unfortunately, it was a bit difficult to cement this concept into peoples minds, especially since almost everyone has steel blades, steel armor, steel implements, and so on.
Now, if they had said that armor and things were made of brass or bronze, and steel was truly rare, then it'dve been different.
although, as im typing this, i did have an idea. what if the steel coinage was a true unique item and only formed for currency. While steel is commonplace, what if the steel coins didnt rust? stainless steel doesnt rust (for the most part), and its a difficult thing to manufacture in a fantasy setting. iron, carbon, manganese, vanadium, chromium, molybdenum, an alloy strictly used for coinage. i could see that.
we could have copper, silver, gold, and steel. hmmmmm...i'll have to think about this.

We are getting a writ for a payment upon delivery. So unfortunately, no cash up front.
Ah, read that wrong then. So I will pledge that cash to you once we complete the delivery then.
Good news is that the 1 silver a day I can pay as we go ;-)

This is no back in the context of gameplay yes DM? :-)

Now. That W really changes the context...

Random thought for the adventure
Just a beta idea
Dragons toothpick.
Minor wondereous item
The somewhat talented red mage named Elderfran was somewhat of a health conscious wizard. His favorite item upon his body that he was most proud of, was his mouth. Especially his teeth. After eating some ribs from a cow, a morsel got stuck inbetween his teeth. This is mildly annoying by itself, but as he was working it free, him and his travel companions were attacked by hobgoblins. Elderfran survived, but was try vexed that this lone morsel of food would break his spellcasting rhytym. And thus he went about making a tooth pick that would help keep .outh clean.
Powers:
Daily use confires ability to user. Food that could get stuck in the mouth, doesnt get stuck.
Weekly usage allows user to have a dragons bite attack, based off of the dragon scale ussd to form the tooth pick.

ha ha ha ha that's one really strange but fun item.
I remember another campaign the gm gave us a Rod of Puns.
We got a near TPK from it.

i was just sitting in bed last night, looking at the stack of old AD&D magical items encylopedias, and i remember there being a listing for toothpicks. And then i thought about Bander always rooting through peoples stuff getting random things, and i thought "hey, what if he came across something magical? what would be the odds for that?". And then i remembered that under the listing for the rod of might was that it could be found, in a 2%, in the shape of a toothpick. So, i took 2+2, added the value of lumber inflation, minus the cost of a used flux capacitor, and viola: A minor wonderous item: Dragons toothpick.

D&D5 has a lot of such weird magical items which don't really do a lot. I think those are quite funny.
Only you probably shouldn't tell us first :D

Just popping in to say that's still following along. Torin is just indifferent to what is in the box. Transporting illicit goods doesn't faze him much. He's done worse for less pay.

no worries. from what you said in your prior posting, i figured this was the case. i was going to ping you to bring your attention back to the game as we are going to transition from city of solanthus to travel to palanthas.

I'm already half through Dragons of Spring Dawn by now^^
Reading this again as an adult is...different. Even though from a literate point of view it leaves quite something to wish for in character depth and development as well as writing style, it's still awesome and well written. Also does what it's supposed to do!

What? How so? Win10 is really better.
Except your some IT developer who wants to run whatever on their own, but i think you could still do that on Win10 or use Linux :D

That is a shame - Zak was having a good RP dynamic with Sheska.
Quick question - who is our... Healer? Or the person with the most healing powers? Is it Fuma?
Fuma, though I am also a Cleric, I have not revealed as much.

yep. Looks like it'll be me with the most Healing available for now.
Have fun with your camping trip.

Apologies, i'm very preoccupied with getting vaccine shots, moving house next week and work. On top of that i'm looking at a 3 week kindergarden holiday next month.
Will post as much as i can, but daily routine might be some time still.
