Earlier

Lakritze looks him up and and down and seeing the testing movements when the armour is finally don.

Looks more protective then your own armour and i can already tell you feel better in that one. Curious if there are more options to customize that kind of armour. I would pick a different colour. *wink*

Oh yes please always assume we 'Starfinder' everything. My local lodge is using that expression.

Which means looting everything and taking everyting that is not nailed down. It's nailed down? No problem someone has just the tool for it and we take the nail and whatever it was which was nailed down.

At least that's me in general for game characters.

Cletus really saved us! Glad we have a good team. Althoug not strong in Ship to Ship combat. Ron, do you think there could be carnivorous plants which are dangerous for us? Who knows how wild everything here did grow.

Slow and steady big one! Be extra slow... One step after another... Lakritze keeps herself calm by trying to calm Ronath.

I don't get it. Are we at half speed or encumbered? My character is not encumbered but should be at half speed for high gravity.

Keeping her balance Lakritze moves across the bridge as far a possible. Arms are stretched outwards.

If i remember correctly one of the fleeing Shirren was near my character and had to leave a threatened square? Must have run past me.

Rhys just punches the one trying to flee the moment she agressivly punches one of her gloves reveals itself as a weapon.

Now that at least one person can understand Common Lakritze gives her best to be a diplomat and feels the pressure and is a bit stiff. Basically smalltalk and in general improving the sprouting relationship with a new culture.

No Captain so gunner and gunner + Magic Officer? Even if our Pilot is faster then the Whelp our ship is two hexes slower... We can't outrun that living starship.

I am terrible not sorry and sorry. I named this character liquorice or in American English licorice when i had the munchies for said delicous treat... So food related stuff may become a theme for this character.

Antennae twitching and her unblinking insect-like eyes fixated on Von Junzt no word can be heard from her on the bridge.

Your doing a great job, Sisyar! Improvise and adapt from moment to moment. Basically point our weapons to the enemy and if possible to the arc who has the lowest shield. In our case nobody took any damage and we don't have a weak arc so far. A low shield from us should point away from the best enemy weapon.

No need for radical tactics there for those meetings. I will find the ones who dreamed of being artists as larvae although without any talent and now are making everyone's work a bit harder. With a bit of networking i will be informed earlier in the future about horrible scripts and don't have to stand up in a meeting.

In reaction to Ronath's discomfort on ships not designed for Dragonkins.
Guidance, if i recall the Drake class ships have a basic interior, which is not designed for large creatures like Dragonkins for example. Would it be possible to fit a couch like this one patting the couch she sits on onto the bridge at least? Better two one for the bridge and one for the crew quarters, we can carry them as a team i guess.

Eyeing the young Dwarf Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 5 + (1) = 21 Put Law Officer theme on top and it's crystal clear. Lakritze sees right through the obvious lie.

Privately to Cletus Remember you can answer telepathy back! As long as i intiate the conversation there is no need to use your voice.

Diplomay to hit the right tone: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 8 + (4) = 22 Cletus your mother will always see you in your larval stage, she has a hard time to remember you are a big boy now. I know you are a big brave boy you made it through Starfinder training and that drone is really unique. So if you don't want to have big scaly boy here, my Dragonkin partner, also watching you constantly to take your medicine and follow you everyhwere on the ship you better inform him like a doctor. Ronath, the big scaly boy, has studied Medicine and knows what he is doing.
Accidents due to medical conditons in basic crew quarters are no fun for anybody.
Arrgh i know why i rely on rolling Diplomacy. Still feels awkward.

As for naming the ship
"Why not Protector Karen or Mighty Karen or just Karen for our ship?" it's unclear what her intentions are. "Traditonal ships do have female names so why not Karen?"

Please be respectful i know someone who's realname is Karen and since it became a thing on the internet her low self esteem took a really severe hit! Just getting bullied for no reason at all is horrible. Imaging to be anxious about your name!

On the ship
Ron i don't think the Captain is someone who really socializes in a friendly manner. Seems to be one of those ruling with a a carrot and a stick and finding it easier to use the stick. *sigh*

Only if Sisyar makes a scene Lakritze wil interfere, knowing too well how stubborn and mischievous Ronath can be.

So i was searching for avatars on this board for Kasathas and Shirrens and then to find space elves and Ysoki although some Ratfolks can be found... Sadly something exotix as Quorlu is hard to find or non-exitent.

Normal users like me don't see the option for Kasatha under type althoug when i hover over a potential avatar when i have all avatars displayed for me to pick one i can see Kasatha mentioned as the type for specific avatars.

So my way to get an official implemented Avatar for a Kasatha or another Shirren then one of of the two (2!) Shirren you can see if you tick the box the the left to show all Shirren avatars is i don't tick any box and sort the avatars by date and select next again and again after i can see something i like.
I have to stare at tons of avatars and i made sure i wrote down the number of the page i found that avatar before i select it, because well it is time consuming and after a while you get logged out here...

Any chance the awesome avatars will be easier to handle in the future? Right now tons of users pile up using certain avatars because a lot of the avatars are not connected to the system to let's say show me Type: Elf.

I am using an avatar for my Alias Agrona Amabilis which does not show up when i select Type Elf but has the descripiton Type Elf when i hover over that avatar with my mouse when selecting an avatar.

Right now for some of the awesome avatars you need at least a few skillranks in using Paizo Forums to select one of the newer avatars.

Would love to see more users having an easier time to get a wide variety of avatars for Play by Post or just in general.

Answering Ronath:
I am fine just had to put out some kind of 'fire' at work. You don't believe how boring and stupid the script for the next safety for schoolchildren on Absalom Station vid would have been. *also that it is really cringeworthy expressed in non-words* I had to carefully make our superiors convince that only speaking in teen slang is a horrible idea if i do that in that vid. Then my comm-unit alerted me the meeting for our Starfinder mission is starting... How to run out of a meeting if they all want to talk for days? I managed to leave and that we are in no rush for now to shoot that now less stupid vid after i am back.

Politely greeting everyone in the room and giving the equivalent of a smile for a Shirren towards Ronath, a youg female Shirren dressed in a horrible mixture of different styles enters the room.
She is wearing a bright blue Second Skin armour under her clothes and her exoskeleton is teal to green.

"Hello i am Lakritze! pretty sure Ronath here already talked a bit about me. Right now i am one of the few faces in front of a camera for the Stewards. Not very entertaining i know, but a real Steward Officer instead of an actress in front of the camera is somthing else.
In general i prefer the diplomatic or non-violent solution to any problem. And i can be quite charming!"
Indeed she is a charming and dexterous Shirren not suited for manual labour judging by her build.

Ronath looks like you should carry part of my gear once we are there. Pretty sure i am not strong enough to carry everything on my own in high gravity. Right now i still have a lot of space left to carry more but in hight gravity that's another story.

"I do prefer a vessel similar to my own fighting style, more dextrous and quick on your feet. So the faster Pegasus is my preference and i could be the Captain, have training as a Pilot but i let other more qualified Agents take that combat role first. I am also a passable Science Officer and a terrible Gunner i assume. I am surely more dexterous then the average sentient being but we will see.."

Have a clarification or entry for all the races how many and which genders they have if they have genders at all.

I created a Quorlu for Starfinder Society and well i am not sure how many genders and which genders they have. I have no access to adventure paths and have not gamemastered or played every Society scenario with a Quorlu NPC.
That's just one example.

Would be nice to have that information in the statblocks for every race, be it available for PCs or for NPCs.
More important for PCs, because a player usally only manages one character and a gamemaster has so much to do that the gender usally has no meaning at all until the players make it meaningful.
A PC is usally worked out in detail, well at least after some sessions.

The little child's bodylanguage suggests the child is more at ease now, with Tara and Rhys in front and a group of adults all armed and just having climbed out of a building they casually broke into.

Seeing the discussion is set up and to my surprise six players and the fact i did not get a message, it's time to congratulate the concepts which were picked and move on?

Congratulations to everyone who offered a concept picked for this campaign!

May the dicebot be kind to you and that all of you players and gamemaster have the endurance to play the whole campaign.

Reminds me i should rewatch Babylon 5 witht the DVDs i have here.

CGI was not that great even back then, but the character development and thw whole setting and that everyone had a light and a dark side...

So the dwarves in this setting fulfill those stereoptypes for you?
Careful what you imply there, please.

Clearly every creator is a child of the culture and well zeitgeist of the moments before and during creation of a setting and adventures in that setting.

So let's not jump to conclusions early on.

Other themes in the player's guide were simply more to the taste of potential players, that's all we can say at this point.

I created two Aliases for the two potential characters and have found avatars and i realized we still need more avatars on this board!

I have not defined the age for either submission so Medeia Selene Vance will fall into the category of being an adult with no impact of the ageing rules.
Talis Lomond could maybe be middle age with an impact on the stats? But then i would have to rethink the way i spent my points.

So should the age of the character fall into adult area but not already middle age because of higher mental ability scores which are for casters and social character especially powerful?
Handwave and no adjustment of ability scores and age is flavour?

Well for Piloting i can say with a high rank in Piloting and most likely the highest Dexterity in the group you would be the either the best Pilot or the best Gunner for Space Combat.

Because Gunnery check is calculated like this:

Gunnery Check = 1d20 + the gunner’s BAB or the gunner’s ranks in the Piloting skill + the gunner’s Dexterity modifier + bonuses from computer systems + bonuses from the captain and science officers + range penalty.

So a campaign with a focus on Space Combat does need a good pilot and a good gunner! And keep in mind you can switch your roles at the beginning of Space Combat round.

Having seen fellow Operatives and planning to take that exploit too i can assure you that the exploit Uncanny Mobility can be a life saver!

Jack of All Trades is game mechanically very useful if your group as a whole does not cover all the skills especially those trained only skills.
If you play that character a lot in Starfinder Society you might end up with a group not covering all the necessary skills so Jack of all Trades is a nice backup to be at least able to roll at all for that skill with 1 (one) character on a full table! Because all the other players playing a PC have no rank in that trained only skill!

In a private group with friends you can coordinate who takes which skills and there might be no need at all to be able to roll for a trained only skill with the Jack of All Trades exploit.

On the other hand if Jack of All Trades fits the character for who he/she/they is then go for it!

So i hope i did not go too far and my story for my Technologist of a curious capable thief getting cought red handed and being recognized as a potential asset fits with the setting.

Not enough time to really change anything right now, because then the archetype would not fit anymore.

Well our characters do have to be of the age that is listed as being mature for that race!

Okay for Androids it is 0 years, but i don't think that means the soul inside that body is the sould of child and you should play a child.

In Society to quote the guide:

Quote:
Characters must be between the age of maturity and the maximum age.

This highly implements to me that playing a child is not okay!

And i agree that playing an Android like a newborn can lead to uncomfortable situations at a table.

So a friend asked this question but has not yet come to the forums.

We do have this Fighting Style since more then 2 years form the Core Rulebook and nobody dared to ask?

So starting as the level 5 Style Technique for Arcane Assailant Fighting Style a Soldier can imbue a weapon with the following fusions: ethereal, flaming, frost, merciful, or shock.

Let me go through the list. Of course it only works if i have attuned my weapon before any combat situation.:


  • Ethereal I found nothing so is this a leftover from Playtest and you mean Ghost Killer?
  • Flaming Making half the damage the weapon deals normally into fire damage and if i deal 7 for example i can pick if it is 4 fire and 3 other or the other way 'round. For a swift action only!
  • Frost Making half the damage the weapon deals normally into cold damage and if i deal 7 for example i can pick if it is 4 fire and 3 other or the other way 'round.
  • Merciful Transforms all my damage into non-lethal for a swift action. Nice!
  • Shock Making half the damage the weapon deals normally into electricity damage and if i deal 7 for example i can pick if it is 4 fire and 3 other or the other way 'round. For only a swift action.

So this Society Subdermal Graft states it is a mark to let others know you are an agent of the Society. Sure imposters do exists.

Is there an option for a character past level 2 to get this thingy that all Starfinder agents could have?
In Pathfinder Society 1E i could always buy me my Wayfinder.

I literally would forgo my downtime and pay and get in line for that thing. Be it the 150 Credits or 2 fame or so.

Just a suggestion and it's crazy to call this the ingame signature thingy for agents of the Society and normal agents only being out in the field not doing that evergreen never ever can get it.

I love your Technomancer!

I am deabting for starting gear at level 1 Utility Scattergun or Hunting Rifle. When i have one pistol then i have short range covered so Hunting Rifle gives me more options, on the other hand shotgun...

Handcannons seem to fit to that concept. Ouch maybe not at level 1, a bit expensive at character creation.

That really does look cool. Should that ever be legal for Society i will buy that Adventure Path just because.
Equilibrium... oh yes i remember that movie. :)

Well i think i will start with Soldier to be able to have pistols and rifles and my other Soldier which is themed a bit different and dexterity based is wearing light armour at the moment.
People told me to not have heavy armour on a soldier is a waste but i disagree.

I also asked around and a dip into Envoy and or going Operative was suggested. Envoy does sound great so possible my first character made out of two classes, for Starfinder!

In another sci-fi system there is the mystery about a very old species who took [insert widespread species and some others] and planted them into various solar systems and did who-knows-what to them or just abandoned them like the more grown puppy that the now bored child is abandoning at a random far away place.
