Deciding that the bugbear is sufficiently distracted, Mutaq circles back around Babs and attempts to deliver Glorzia two more magical stabs.

"A garment assemblage of the highest fashion," Mutaq answers Trig's exclamation. "In my opinion, at least."

At the bounty board, he looks skeptical but eventually nods in agreement. "Not exactly my area of expertise, but I suppose it'll provide a nice change of pace."

Entry into the tournament decided, Mutaq walks over to the bantering siblings and gives them a slight bow. "Greetings, Deka and... Demed, isn't it? I'm Mutaq, and my friends and I are out-of-towners looking to compete in the tournament. It seems the two of you are quite the accomplished contestants. Would you mind telling us in a bit more detail than that poster what exactly the competition entails?"

An idea suddenly comes to Mutaq, as if whispered by a benevolent deity.

"Aha! What about Valkus Isle? A bit of a hassle to get to, but I believe I remember reading that it's a very relaxing vacation spot."

Sort of. I'm going to college in Colorado but I grew up here and I'm back with my family while my school is fully remote for a while. I've only done a little bit of in-person PFS here, at Great Escape Games. I think I played Jasariel then, actually.

As Otova circles around the wereporcupine and draws its attention, Mutaq finally sees an opportunity to make good use of his enchanted sword. He advances quickly but quietly, retracing the monster's steps yet again, then pauses by a tree. At just the right moment he lunges forward and drives his blade into the creature.

I think I'll be sitting this one out, as I don't have a low enough level character or the time to make one right now, and I'd rather not use a pregen. Best of luck, and I'll create a new character at some point relatively soon so I can play in future 1-4s.

As Gruvok steps into the blast radius of her icicle Jasariel is about to warn him of the danger, but the heat of his fire spell accelerates the melting of the icy projectile and it explodes before she speaks.

"That was my spell, actually," she tells Farryn ruefully. "About as effective against the fungi as I'd hoped, but I did not expect him to... engage so directly. No matter, the creatures are dealt with and we are nothing if not capable of reversing injuries."

Jasariel walks up to Gruvok and channels green healing energy through her hand and into the patches of frostbite left by her more destructive magic.

Jasariel inhales the forest air appreciatively, feeling the power of such an ancient and expansive wilderness seeping into her.

She is watching Shrike's aqueous veil when Sapphire's question steals her attention. "With the same talents I am forced to employ on nearly every mission I carry out," she replies coldly. Jasariel closes one hand as if to grasp an invisible wand, then flicks her wrist downward. Water freezes out the of air to form an icy spike as she moves, starting from her palm and ending in a jagged tip about a foot away as her hand stops. After examining it briefly Jasariel hurls the spike skyward, where it explodes in a spray of freezing shrapnel.

As Jasariel sees Reast coming her way, she steels herself and mentally recites, Forgive this deception, o Gozreh. May my words be as the fading mist and my soul remain as the purest spring.

She then walks up to Reast and enthusiastically tells him, "I can hardly believe my luck at finding such a thriving congregation of Groetus' followers here! I was already an adherent of the Harbinger of Last Days, but in all my travels I have never encountered a Groetan community as large as yours. May His manifestation be swift and soon."

Yep. I've entirely rebuilt her as a cleric of Gozreh, though she should still be able to do melee when necessary.

A tall, broad half-elven woman meets the others at the lodge, the seashells braided into her long hair clinking softly as she moves. She carries a surprising amount of metal for a priest of a nature deity, with a sturdy breastplate under her dark green cloak and a round steel shield strapped over it. Most strikingly, she holds a trident ornately wrought and engraved so that its central prong resembles a jagged bolt of lightning and the other two are crashing waves, the surf at the their peaks forming serrated blades at the end of the prongs.

Jasariel listens quietly to the Venture-Captain's briefing. Perhaps if you had not been so arrogant as to build your city atop a swamp you would not be in this mess today. She can feel the the water beneath Admiral's Fen, moving almost imperceptibly through the mud like slow breathing.

After finishing her stew Jasariel stands, stretches and announces, "I'll go look for this Dalimus, see what he's all about." She heads off in search of the preacher.

Ferocity prevents the creature from dying, it doesn't give a retaliatory attack. However, I now realize that the minion trait prevents summoned creatures from using reactions at all, so the boar dies regardless. Won't be summoning it again without ferocity. Anyway....

Adalan speeds up Thorax's movements with a bit of temporal magic before snapping off a brief blast of force from his ram-headed ring at the large wolf attacking Bair.

Haste on Thorax.

Hobgoblins... not great fans of the arcane, if I recall correctly? Have to be careful with that then. These four seem like they'll be reasonably competent though, so hopefully there won't be much need for magical intervention.

Jasariel uses her reaction to Shield Block the first attack that hits her.

Jasariel grimaces as the skeletons' glaives shatter her protective disk and slam into her armor with bone-jarring force, but she manages to keep her footing. She steps back from the front line and pulls out the healing potion she acquired earlier before chugging it.

Having finished digging out the staircase, Jasariel and her crew spend the next couple of days cleaning the now-accessible dungeon.

Jasariel is quite apprehensive about the prospect of spending time in Razmiran and remains wary throughout the journey, though she tries to be diplomatic in her interactions with the Razmiris.

Once the party begins conversing with Narsen, she adds, "If I may ask, what motivated you to lobby your superiors to let us establish a lodge? We certainly appreciate the opportunity, but I'm curious what you see as the advantage for you and for Razmiran in general of having a Pathfinder lodge here."

Nyakala advances, floating atop her seemingly insubstantial legs. Stopping beneath a small tree, she exhales a puff of the misty darkness which currently makes up her body. Adalan decides to save his last acid attack until the caustic liquid still on the Amalgam stops burning it. A little groggy from his repeated knockouts and healings, he gathers his concentration and sends three small blue orbs of explosive energy flying up at the monster.

"...Thanks," Adalan tells Thorax, looking down at his stuffed wounds apprehensively. "I'll use more acid soon, but I want to try something else first."

With a melodic incantation and a series of dramatic gestures, Adalan creates a radiant humanoid form hovering above the opposite edge of the dais. The shape resolves itself into a small angel with eyes of molten light, who begins singing a piercing hymn which washes over the Amalgam with palpable force.

Casting illusory creature to seemingly summon a choral angel and then sustaining the spell so it can attack. Hopefully exploiting a weakness to good if the Amalgam has one.

Adalan moves past Deshacerla and into the bushes in order to get a clear line of sight to the boars. He utters a sibilant incantation and twists his hands in an elaborate gesture, causing a white-hot spark to shimmer into existence next to the foreleg of the lead animal. The spark rapidly expands, darkening in color as it grows until a reddish-orange ball of fire several feet in diameter engulfs the boar's leg.

Stride, Cast flaming sphere.

Fire Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) = 10 with a DC 20 basic Reflex save (but a success is no damage rather than half).

If only I hadn't wasted my acid spell back there I could have countered one of those! Adalan internally curses himself as Hannah falls. Hoping to distract the kobolds, he rushes out past the corner of the hallway and performs a complicated series of gestures. From the staircase behind the kobolds, a bluish, insectoid monstrosity wielding an infernal spear emerges. Straightening its legs to tower over the small reptilians, the illusory gelugon hisses menacingly.
