Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Posh whispers to his companions, "Galduria's true claim to fame is its arcane college, the Twilight Academy. The Twilight Academy has a reputation for undertaking many experimental and unconventional practices. You can purchase minor magical items here, some stores are legit, others exist to avoid the local taxes. I advise avoiding the unlawful locations."
Filona Fiorde |
Before
Filona replies to Gundar "Well, you see, he gave up his dreams to stay with her, but it all ended up happily for everyone."
In town
Filona spends the time in town visiting the scroll shops. She doesn't really buy anything, but she is intrigued by how this particular economy works. After inquiring about prices and sell tactics, it becomes clear she ins't going to buy anything and the vendors lose their interest in her.
She tries visiting the Twilight Academy to see how wizards are trained. She received training to get in touch with her magical side but it was all very intuitive and emotional, so she wondered what magic means in a more scholarly way. She actually tries making friends with some of the students in the Academy.

"I have no such reason to offer you" replies Caladorn, who's been almost hiding, studying his scrolls at all hours...

The next day begins and you continue your journey towards Brinewall.
Day 6: 1d100 ⇒ 94
Day 7: 1d100 ⇒ 4
The road to Wolf's Ear is well traveled as you spot fisherman on the Ember Lake. There are many other caravans on this road as the trade between Galduria and Wolf's Ear is substantial. Day 5 on the road passes peaceably and another caravan joins yours for the night.
You start Day 6 refreshed and ready for the day. The lake has narrowed and you see a large forest on the horizon. The town is ahead but you don't stop needing to press on. The road narrows as you follow the Lampblack River to your right with the Churlwood Forest on your left. The narrow strip of land is rough and your wagon improvements have been a great help.
During the night you hear strange sounds coming from the forest. They are disconcerting and your sleep is restless.
Day 7 comes with rain and your speed is slowed as the horses struggle to move through the deepening mud forming from the rain flowing from the forest into the river. Finally you decide to stop for the night as the road forks with one path heading to Ravenmoor and the other going into the forest towards Roderic's Cove.
Filona Fiorde |
Filona gets a little disappointed in the rain. She helps unpack and camp as best she can, but her size and lack of strength are apparent. Once they are all camped, she spends some time getting warm and comes close to Ameiko, trying to do what she does.
Filona Fiorde |
Filona volunteers for the first group. She will take a while to get sleepy anyway, so she gladly watches over the group, despite not being the most perceptive of people.
GM_Corwyn |
You agree on using five two hour shifts as follows:
A: Filona and Ameiko
B: Gundar and Sandru
C: Posh and Walnut
D: Shalelu
E: Caladorn, Galaditar and Koya
It is close to morning when the noises you heard from a previous disturbing night are noticed. Koya looks ahead and think she spots something in the forest ahead of them. She points it out to Caladorn and goes to wake the others.
Filona Fiorde |
Filona opens her eyes grumpily. She does not feel completely rested. Still she gets up and whispers "What's up?" She puts on her shoes and gulps some water, while waiting for the others to wake up.
Caladorn Estvial |
Caladorn puts an arrow on the string, and tries to spot what Koya has seen (and so does Galaditar)...

Caladorn dodges both bolts and realizes that they came too close for his liking.

Gundar: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
Koya: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Posh: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Sandru: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Shalelu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Creatures: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Everyone is up. Creatures have gone in this first round. I need to know if you generally sleep in your armor. Your choice here will take effect throughout the Adventure (unless you specify otherwise each time you sleep). Those on watch are considered armored and ready for combat (Caladorn and Koya).
Caladorn Estvial |
"Ware the crossbows!" shouts Caladorn as the bolts whip past him. He launches his own missile back (I am assuming I can see the figures that are on the map). Then he follows his own advice and ducks behind a horse's butt for cover.
free action - speak

Filona Fiorde |
Filona doesn't wear armor!
Filona yelps at the whooshing sound of the bolts and looks at the figures by the trees. Afraid there could be more, she summons a group of four floating lights towards the woods, trying to see if there are more.
Dancing lights into the woods trying to out more attackers.
She says "Stop attacking us! We've done nothing wrong!"

@Gundar: The Acid Bolt still requires a ranged touch attack.
Gundar Acid Bolt attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
The bolt sails wide to the left of the blue creature.
@Caladorn: The moon is full and provides a low level light source.
Caladorn's arrow pierces the creature. It does not make any sound and does not react to the damage at all.
Posh Stemtimple |
Posh doesn't sleep in his scale mail, but he DOES sleep in his MW chain shirt, which is kept for just this purpose.
Round 1 - Posh grabs his lance and mounts Walnut...
Ride: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
... as a move action.
Round 2 - Posh and Walnut double move to the front of the pack
GM_Corwyn |
The night sky is clear with a full moon, so the light is equivalent to a dim light source.
In an area of dim light, a character can see somewhat. Creatures within this area have concealment (20% miss chance in combat) from those without darkvision or the ability to see in darkness. A creature within an area of dim light can make a Stealth check to conceal itself. Areas of dim light include outside at night with a moon in the sky, bright starlight, and the area between 20 and 40 feet from a torch.
Since this is a full moon I am going to rule that there is no concealment/20% miss chance. You can see creatures within 30 feet with normal vision, 60 feet with low-light vision and 120 feet with darkvision.

Caladorn Estvial |
Sorry I appear to have lost a post that I thought I made yesterday...
With Low Light vision, Caladorn is within 60' of the attackers. Corwyn, could you please describe our assailants? The map shows wolf-men...( and they ignored an arrow, so as a player {not a character}, I have suspicions{were wolves?} right now).
Filona Fiorde |
@GM: Doesn't Filona's light help with that miss chance?
Filona gets her crossbow and shoots one of the enemies, wondering what is going on.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Caladorn Estvial |
"I hit that guy good! I didn't sign up for arrow proof wolfmen!"; Caladorn's voice betrays that he is unhappy with the situation. Having said his piece, he ducks further behind the horse and uses it for cover to break line of sight and starts sneaking up on the attackers... (Maybe a well placed sneak attack will do the job!)
Double move action , at 1/2 speed because of stealth, 30' of move, ending using the woods for cover

The werewolves drop their crossbows and draw their longswords. The Pink werewolf moves to engage Gundar and both attack him.

Pink attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
