Filona tries helping the couple with anything they need. On their way out, she winks at the birds who helped her, although it is more likely she winked at a random bird, thinking it was the same one.

Filona tells the others "We can come back later. We should make sure these two get home safely."

![]() |

As the group leaves the cavern, Caladorn burns the spider webs found in the first room they explored. You hear a tiny screech from the webs as the spider within burns.
Peter's health seems to improve on the journey home and both he and Wilma can't seem to stop thanking everyone for their rescue.
In Roderic's Cove, you meet an emissary of the Weatherly estate who insists on putting you up in the finest inn in town. The rooms are huge and the beds are softer then those at the Rusty Dragon.

Caladorn Estvial |

Observing Peter's apparently rapidly improving health, Caladorn has a whisper with Gundar and Shalelu (who identified the werewolves last time) "Peter was kidnapped by those werewolves, right... and he's apparently recovering extremely quickly from his ordeal. Could he have gotten infected? How would we tell, other than waiting for the next full moon?"

Gundar Ironbeard |

Gundar nods at Caladorn's concern. Hmmmm....Let me seeif I can find out.
Before arriving in town, Gundar will do a heal check to see if there are any signs of lycanthropy on Peter and Wilma and will look for any canine bite marks.
Heal (Peter): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Heal (Wilma): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Filona seems tired on their way back. Once they're well received and they see the family reunited, she thinks she'll go to bed early and rest, but then they're offered a stay at a wonderful inn, so she ends up in the common hall, drinking and telling a story to anyone who would listen of a gnome hero who freed two lovers.
In the story the gnome was actually a clever thief who tricked goblins into releasing the couple. The story otherwise greatly resembles the rescue of Peter and Wilma.
She eventually goes to sleep, but cleans herself with some magic prestidigitation before going into bed. She sleeps very peacefully.

Each of you are brought several bowls of hot water which is poured into a long wooden tub in a small room connected to the chamber with your luxurious bed. A counter contains small soaps which smell of lavender and various fruits. Handing from a rod connected to the wall are the softest towels you have ever felt. Your bodies revel in the cleanliness provided.
You find a wooden board next to the tub and are able to wash the dirt and grime from your clothes. Just after you hang your clothes to dry you notice fine silken nightgowns which seem to be the correct size for each of you. As you don the sleepwear and are about the go to sleep, you check the room and its surroundings for any threats - finding none.
The night begins with some nervousness; however, the peacefulness of the inn coupled with the pleasantness of the comforts of your rooms soon finds everyone fast asleep. You awake the next morning more refreshed than any of the nights you stayed at the Rusty Dragon.
A knock on each of your doors is followed by a voice saying
"Good morning to you. Master Weatherly requests your presence down in the dining hall once you are ready."
You quickly dress and gather your belongings and notice that they too have been cleaned although you are not sure how that was done. With a little bit of trepidation, you assemble at the dining hall. Peter, Wilma and Master Weatherly all smile at you as you arrive. Master Weatherly stands and speaks joyfully
"Ah! There they are, my heroes! I cannot thank you enough for what you have done. Please join us for breakfast."
You sit and are brought out plates of fruits and cheeses of all varieties even beyond what Ameiko provides at the Rusty Dragon. Coffee, teas of all kind, fruit drinks are available at another table close by and you are told to help yourselves. Dishes with eggs, fish and fried meats are placed at each of your table settings. Loaves of bread and chunks of butter finish the breakfast fare.
Your conversation during the meal centers around both the capture of the soon to be married couple and your brave rescue of them. The only strange part you can gather is that several of the Weatherly guards who were accompanying Hector's caravan disappeared during their travel through the woods.

The night before, Filona answers Gundar "Well it wasn't as much as stealing... But the couple didn't have much need for that much money after, right? I mean they got out alive!"
The next day, Filona wakes up very well rested and is quick to get ready. She didn't really care that her stuff was dirty and is somewhat irked that it was cleaned, but she figures it's a magical property of the inn. She quickly checks this. Cast Detect Magic in the room.
Once downstairs she eats with much enthusiasm, thinking she won't get much chance once the conversation underway. She notices the small hole in their story and, after thanking them for the generosity in arranging this breakfast, asks "So, who was it that arranged Hector's caravan? I love meeting caravan leaders." This wasn't entirely false, since she does have a curiosity for traveling.

Posh Stemtimple |

Posh was a bit caught aback at the ostentatious display of food and pageantry in this place. It was more what he might expect in Magnimar, but as a gnome with a big appetite, he wasn't going to miss the opportunity to properly feed himself.
"Heroes are creatures of myth and legend I'm afraid Master Weatherly. I am but a simple barrister-gnome, enforcing the law where there is lawlessness. With that said, I am a hungry barrister-gnome, and some of those vittles are calling my name. Would you mind if I pocketed some food for Walnut, my battle weasel?"

![]() |

After a few seconds Filona's spell starts going off.
In response to Filona's question, Master Weatherly replies
"Please, call me Simon. After what you have done, I think you have earned that privilege. Hmm, I'm not entirely sure but I think the travel arrangements were made by our wedding planner. I will have James look into the matter."
Turning to Posh, he smiles and adds
"Of course, feel free to take whatever you think your steed would like."

![]() |

Filona takes a sip from her coffee and says "Well, is there any reason why your wedding planner would want to hurt either Peter or Wilma?" She feels smart.

Gundar Ironbeard |

Gundar goes down to breakfast, his beard neatly braided. As he eyes the food, his mouth starts to water. He fills his plate generously and doesn't separate anything. He happily shovels mix-matched food into his mouth!

Caladorn Estvial |

Rather than listen to Filona's story, Caladorn spends the evening in his room, trying to decipher the magics of the amulet he found in the goblin lair...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 2 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 3 + 4 = 28

In the morning, he is exceedingly disgruntled that his gear has been gone through, without either him or Galaditar noticing... He performs the same experiment as Filona (Detect Magic) (Presumably with the same results).
During breakfast, he eats well but makes no conversation, his eyes darting back and forth suspiciously.

![]() |

Without realizing, Filona ends up speaking for everyone "We're actually accompanying my friend Ameiko. She has some family business to attend." As much as Filona would love to go on a new adventure, she cares too much about her friend to just leave her behind.

![]() |

You decide to accompany the Weatherlys back to Riddleport and arrive without incident. Peter and Wilma are seen discussing something with Simon who nods and comes over to the party as you prepare to continue your journey to Brinewall.
"Peter and Wilma have asked me if you would consider staying in Riddleport a few days so that you could be our guests at their wedding. If your schedule does not allow this, we will completely understand and wish you safe travels."

![]() |

Filona's eyes brighten and says "Of course! It's going to be soooo beautiful!" She looks at Ameiko with pleading eyes.
Ok, I'm confident this wedding planner is crooked. This wedding is bound to have some trouble.

Caladorn Estvial |

Caladorn is almost moved to oppose attending the wedding, on the simple basis of if a gnome likes the idea, it has to be bad... but holds his tongue. A couple of days in Riddleport doesn't seem a terrible idea to him; he might be able to buy a scroll or two from the cypher mages or find something else for itchy fingers to take to.
GM Corwyn, did I figure anything out about that amulet with a 28 spellcraft check (above)?

![]() |

@Caladorn The amulet is a Talisman of Beneficial Winds (lesser).
At Posh's query, Simon responds
"It is a religious one, there will be priests from three different faiths presiding. Peter and Wilma are dedicated to each other and neither felt the need for any prenuptial contracts, but thank you for your offer."

![]() |

Filona scowls at Posh and says "It is romantic!" She realizes that in some occasions with nobles a marriage can be used as part of a business transaction, but she is sure Peter and Wilma love each other very much.
