ive built boths orc and wizard dabbled with both, i find the sorc over shadows wizard, they get the same amount of spels, cast spontaneously, get the spells at the same level, can change spell list based upon bloodline. they use charisma as aprimary stat which is also the resonance stat. wizards use intel.and have to bite it on resonance. wizards get less skill points per level. less weapon pros.
from what ive seen all the elements that made the wizard different from the sorc in pf1e have been removed.

Sovereign Court

im content waiting, i like my thundercaller how it is. dont care for the nerf

Sovereign Court

before i reserve a room, anyone wanna go in halves with me. id prefer to save lil bit of money to buy stuff with.

Sovereign Court 5/5

the 8 spell levels never seemed that bad to me. at most ur looking at 8 1st lvl spells on the full plate armor. i think the biggest issue is the crafting rules that apply.

aye rosc i think that is the confusion, having looked at it ive seen instances where the base form grants a claw attack and the subtype grants a claw attack. so is this claw attack an overlap?
another example does a protean have a climb speed? the serpentine form gives it without mention of an evolution however the protean subtype does not grant a climb evolution.

the sections in unchained is a lil vague on how it is supposed to work.

Sovereign Court

Ill be there andrew

Let them take the "extra slot" feat and buy them muelback cords.

based on current rules for extra item slot that pfs put into play, your companion must have the slot on their list of available slots on the front cover of the guide.

Additionally, animal companions have access to magical item slots, in addition to barding and neck, as listed on the inside front cover of Pathfinder Player Companion: Animal Archive so long as they select the Extra Item Slot feat. The Animal Magic Item Slots table found in Animal Archive is not a legal except under the following conditions. First, an animal companion, familiar, or bonded mount, may choose one slot listed under its body type when taking the Extra Item Slot feat (this feat may be taken multiple times, each time selecting a different available magic item slot based on the creature's anatomy). Second, access to specific magic item slots may be granted at a later date by another legal source. If you do not own a copy of the Animal Archive, your animal companion may only use barding and neck-slot items.

notice that this faq removes the ability for you to get a slot not available to your companion such as a magical belt slot for most of them due to the fact the belt slot is limited to saddles only(clarified in animal archives below

Available slots followed by either “(saddle)” or
“(horseshoes)” denote that creatures of that body type can only wear magic items in the appropriate slots as long as they are either saddles or
horseshoes, respectively (for instance, a hoofed quadruped can wear a saddle of the sky-river, but not a belt of dwarvenkind).

while john says "A naturally invisible, flying, telekinetic throwing (based on its Hit Dice, which scales with effective wizard level) elemental makes for a delightful opponent but isn't necessarily an appropriate familiar for a PC."
he did not say it was not allowed, the additional resources legalized the feat as it is written, until a clarification is made i would assume rules as written is law. however keep in mind they may add a clarification making it illegal which will require u to change ur feat or ur familiar but till they do RAW is straight forward.

want: share the wealth

have tiefling, grippli, vishkaya, suli, all the elemental races
pathfinder apprentice and many other oddball boons

Sovereign Court 5/5

have- numerous race boons(tiefling, damphyr, sulis, all the elementals, prosperity and a few other oddballs(dont have list on me but can get hands on quite a few boons so.

want- share the wealth

Sovereign Court 5/5

yah that is what we kinda figured. its ok ill just have to use my corrupted ghoul boon and change bloodlines when i complete it

Sovereign Court 5/5

i have consulted with my local vc and we both found it to be kind of grey area on weather a bloodrager can be ghoul blooded. in the monster codex(which came out before ACG) it's specifically labeled as a sorc bloodline. also comparing the other bloodlines we notice the bloodragers has a different set of abilities from sorc, and it isnt called out that a bloodrager can use any sorc bloodline. taking all these facts into consideration my local vc has decided till we get some kind of clarification he is going to not allow it without the boon.

is there something we are missing that would clarify this better?

Sovereign Court

it is gonna have table variations, i know the standard at my lodge was raise dead rules.

Sovereign Court 5/5

i have all the tiefling, vishkanya, grippli, damphyr, undine, ifrit, sylph, suli. also have an oddball shadow lodge boon(cant remember which right now)

all im really looking to get my hands on is vanaran or skinwalker. willing to trade multiples

pm me if you have questions, i have alot of boons stashed in my box.

Sovereign Court 5/5

think im gonna make a halfling hunter on a giraffe now

Sovereign Court 5/5

campeign mode is not hard mode i am sorry. i sit down to play pfs its to play pfs, playing a scenario for no credit with changed encounters is not the same as hard mode.

i understand that people are worried bout a player being pressured into doing a hard mode. that is an issue to take into account but to say no without trying to find a way to make it work for all does not encourage everyone to have fun.

Sovereign Court 5/5

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Imo 7-11 should have a hard mode option. how to apply it to pre-existing scenarios will cause alot of conflict as many will not like it cause it puts their characters at risk, the entire point of hardmode is the risk tho imo. most scenarios are written for a average non creative player, the moment you add creative players or even new classes to the table there is almost no reason to play.

so in short i would support more hard modes but its up to paizo staff whether or not its feasible for older stuff. biggest thing to remember is hard mode is optional in all situations.

Michael Hallet wrote:
If that were the case, then the list in the AR serves no purpose. I would consider that list to be a specific restriction on the availability of poisons and thus overriding the general availability of nonmagical alchemical items.

the list in the AR calls out which ones are legal for pfs, not wether they are always available for poison use class's

Sovereign Court 5/5

wether or not a poison is classified as alchemical gear is the question. it does require craft alchemy to create, so id assume it is alchemical. if someone can find proof that it is not then please link where you found it.

Sovereign Court 5/5

as steven stated is how i understood it, they are alchemical gear and so are always available because they are not magic

Sovereign Court 5/5

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

you can never buy poisons unless you have the poison use class feature or it appears on a chronicle. fame has no regard.

I believe they should be able to buy myself, im ok if they risk contact on adding like a non specialized class but i think they would know where to buy poisons

Sovereign Court 5/5

actually due to the wording specifically saying class feature, vishkanya currently cannot until campaign leadership updates rules based on the race, ive had this question since gencon and tanya was working on it but has not dropped an official ruling.

Sovereign Court

i have a wizard that shuts combat down through enchantment, i enjoy it cause it allows for more roleplay, i know some do not like it as they want combat more than anything so im very selective bout playing it.
