In some cool (I guess? I'm sorry if it's not) knowledge I just found out, Emily Kaldwin, one half the protagonists alongside her father in Dishonered 2 has a lover named Wyman.

They intentionally do not use any gendered nouns when referring to them as Wyman is gender neutral.

I'm glad some devs are paying attention and making efforts.

I've been trying to train myself away from using male pronouns as the default for conversation (for example, the classic case of someone discussing doctors and automatically using male pronouns).
I think the thing that has actually helped me the most with that goal is applying that logic to inanimate objects and animals too - lots of people will use male pronouns when they personify inanimate objects, or when they see an animal. Swapping over to using gender neutral I think has been making it easier to do the same for people, because I get so much more practice retraining myself, and now I'm always actively thinking about what I use.

I came out as bi to my family in October, and to some circles of friends before then, but I've been finding it very hard to be motivated to share anything at work, especially now.
A lot of people I work with seem to be more the kind of people that say they support LGBT rights, but on a personal and one-on-one interactions aren't so great at being supportive. Support it when it's convenient, or because peer pressure.
I know I'm lucky for that at least, but when people were talking about Trump's win, and saying I (and the other 'straight' white guys) were the 'safest' ones, I just didn't correct them.

I've recently been spending more of my time trying to be active in the community online. Also consuming as much LGBT media as I can.

My go-to idea is that I really want to play my tiefling character - I made her for a Wrath of the Righteous campaign that died very quickly, but I loved her personality.

Was very bookish, a bit awkward, but tries real hard and is very genuine. I feel like she'd work really well as a classic "brains + brawn" style duo.

She was an alchemist, but it might better in this campaign as an investigator - can handle more skills. She was chaotic-ish, so pairing with a paladin might be fun.

I'll put some stuff together!

Could you tell us a bit more about the organization that hired us though?

Very neat! I'll think up a character that might be interesting

Ah darn, I was hoping to play through an adventure path. I'm not really one for PvP.

Neat! I didn't know this thread existed. I don't have any new topics to bring up, I just wanted to say hello!

I'm not going to get much into details - if it's higher than 15 point buy, I should be fine.

I do hope for WotR though, cause then I don't have to rewrite my old character story.

Hmmm, maybe I should swap to alchemist or investigator. I can still be the skill monkey, and focus less on the melee/martial, and have some arcane/alchemy we seem to be missing.

I'm thinking I might try to be a rogue. I had a character concept for a spellcaster, but I don't think they fit the theme of a horror style campaign.

Hey! Got the PM, I'll make my character tonight, and look over the other thread to see what discussions I missed.

Edit:
So, a warpriest of Pharasma and a Damphir cleric so far, neat.

I already have most of mine written up since it's an old character, it's just dependent on the character creation rules to flesh out the actual numbers.
I'll bookmark this thread for updates.

I'm having troubles thinking up interesting dungeon levels, so I'm going to drop this. Good luck to those remaining!

I would like to call dibs on an Unchained Monk//Warpriest Combo.. just saying.

A classic combo. If the point buy/attributes are high enough, I might go with a very odd combo of Alchemist/Inquisitor to fit a character concept I already have.

Parts of it work pretty well together, but for the most part it's just the best thing to fit the concept.

If it doesn't work out, I might just go big on the "huge nerd" and maybe be some sort of alchemist/wizard. But I'd rather go the more trickster-y route.

Well if you need a random player, I'm floating around.

Looks like there's pretty even preference for Wrath of the Righteous and Mummy's Mask. I'll have to read up on Mummy's Mask players guide if that's chosen.

Mummy Mask then as it is the only one I have not played. Book 3 for wrath and started book 2 in way of the wicked. Fun fact on Way of the Wicked. I have broke out of the prison 7 times. I sure would like to see where that game goes but I have been in book 2 :(
I'd estimate that only 0.00004% of WotW games ever get past book 1.

Compared to the average rate of 0.00005% for other adventure paths.

Only one I've played at all was Wrath of the Righteous (but we didn't even escape the caves). I do have a preference for Wrath of the Righteous, but I'm up for any of them.

I don't really know anything about Mummy's Mask or what setting or themes that path has.

I would be SO up for a high power WotR. I've had a character I wanted to play again for a literal year, since the GM of the last one vanished.

I've never played or read through any of Mummy's Mask though, so that could be really cool to experience all fresh faced and new!

Does this list ever get cleared, or is it just everyone who has put their thing up since it was created?

I'm probably going to slap a character up on the WotR section, because I really want to play that AP, and the character I made for it only got to be played a little before the GM disappeared :(

Edit:
Hah! Answer is no, I just looked at the list and it appears that my character link is still there from a year ago or something.

Either way, would still be super up for a WotR, or really any AP. PM me

Just don't buy a belt with "FAKE STATUE" inscribed on the buckle.

Oh woops sorry, didn't see that post. I'll find something else.

Probably not brawler though, since I don't think I'd actually gain much from it? Can't rake/natural attack with unarmed attack damage, as far as I know.

For my submission, char is done, just need to spend the time to describe lair.

Edit: Well, I mean I don't know what to do about equipment, but. Everything else on the character is good

Grats, have fun!

Mostly got char stats up, and have some ideas for lair. How specific do you need those encounter locations, or is it more ideas so you can stat out a neat encounter?

Did we get a due date for this section of character building? 2 weeks?

You're both right I think. Rake can be done whenever you would normally do unarmed damage if you were a normal grappler. Constrict just happens immediately when you succeed on a grapple, in addition to any other damage (such as rake).
Behir have both.

Monster campaigns are always fun. The one I'm sort of currently in is going almost nonexistently slow, the GM is very busy IRL.

I will say that the Kobold race is very very weak because of their -4, +2, -2 stats. There's only a few builds they can even somewhat be competent at, and even then they have to deal with -2 con.

I'd suggest that instead of just the extra racial trait (none of which would really solve their problems), you could give them a feat or two that has to be from their racial feats list. Then it's still restricted, but gives good flavor and maybe some neat ability.
Other option is just make them a more standardized stat like +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Str. Their racial traits wouldn't really make it imbalanced, imo.

I probably wouldn't play as one, but I love kobolds, so I just wanted to suggest a few things to make them more appealing.

I just realized that Brixton is a lot more dangerous than I realized if I give him Greater/Rapid grappler. As I understand, that would mean he'd be able to do Rake 3x per round if all the grapples succeed.

He's crap at changing targets though. Just very good single target damage.

Will get on making my floor and character soon.
When you say 10 point buy if we have racial HD, does that mean something like "buying 16 in a stat costs 10 points normally, so add +6 to a stat"?

Well it won't be random. They all have nametags that say 'Fluffy', since that is what you name pets. All of them. Brixton thinks it gets mighty confusing, but he's not going to complain if that's what you're supposed to do.

Haha I was just thinking about what kind of minions might reside on Brixton's floor.
I'm envisioning that, in his quest to impress the other dungeon lords, he got a bunch of magical beast pets to show how he can be responsible and manage minions as well.

He forgot about them since then, and they're just kinda roaming around the lair, amongst all his other failed projects.

Settling on a standard wizard, never played one before. Alchemists and Wizards are equally nerdy, so rewriting won't actually be too bad.

Question about familiars for writing up my backstory:

I never liked the idea of trading out your familiar to a new model when taking Improved Familiar. It doesn't make sense story-wise to me - if I have a familiar it seems like it should be the same one throughout.
But I also really like the faerie dragon, which requires level 7.
Would I be able to take Improved Familiar at 5 and take a faerie dragon with reduced stats/power/fewer abilities? Then at 7 go back to standard stats.

Specifics to be determined if I'm chosen - I just wanted to figure out whether I was writing a standard or improved familiar into backstory.

Question: any idea how min max'ed you expect players to be? I'm very familiar with pathfinder, but I see people grabbing 3.5 stuff, and just don't have the time necessary to learn years of splatbooks to keep up.

On a different note, I probably won't go with my tiefling alchemist. Didn't want to play the same thing, but most of her backstory is very alchemy themed.

Dot. I'll probably try to resurrect my tiefling Alchemist I made a while back - she was intended for Wrath of the Righteous, so I already had plans out for Mythic. GM disappeared though :(
Maybe a different class though, who knows.

Behir is probably on the weak side for CR8, but oh well

1) What kind of dungeon lord are you? Aim for something in the CR 9 range, whether that be a level 10 goblin shaman or a young blue dragon, or something in between.

Every big dungeon needs a big monster in it, and it just so happened that Brixton the Behir was the first to answer the wanted ad. Brixton enjoys the simple things in life - long walks on the beach, lazing about in the warm parts of the dungeon, and devouring all of the hapless adventurers that happen to wander through - and maybe a few more that the other evil lords need disposed of.

He tries his best to be as charming as the other dungeon lords, but it's a lot harder to hang out in the break room when you weigh several tons.

(Advanced Behir, or maybe a different template if it feels better)

2) What kind of dungeon floor did you lord over? (Those chosen will have to actually build this floor)

Brixton has a sprawling lair of half-finished or ruined projects, many of which teeter dangerously. It gives him many places to hide and surprise adventurers from, as well as somewhere to escape to when he grabs one. Any minions that hang out here are probably most likely 'officially' one of the other dungeon lords. Brixton's probably the easiest dungeon lord to make friends with, so they tend to come here for smoke breaks.

3) A sketch of your character's personality and goals.

Brixton doesn't have any goals of world domination or giant armies, but he is a very very hungry, and humanoids just seem to be so plentiful these days. No one will notice a town or two going missing, right?

Other than that, Brixton thinks the other dungeon lords are pretty cool fellas that have neat plans, and frequently tries to impress them - but without magic or much in the way of skills, life is hard for a behir. He can, however, do that thing with his tongue to make it look like a 3 leaf clover.

He can be lazy and scatter brained, especially compared to the more 'master mind' kind of dungeon lords. He starts many projects, and rarely ever finishes them. Other than this, he's actually quite intelligent for a behir.

4) Some discussion of what you, as a player, would like to do/see in this campaign.

It seems like, as a one shot and a silly concept, the goal of this story is more for humor's purpose than telling a grand story. Tongue in cheek improv is my jam for this more than heavy in character roleplaying.

Interacting with the other dungeon lords I assume it going to happen throughout

Is this at all inspired by the webcomic Steve Lichman?

Dotting this, will see if I can think up an interesting character later.

Agh, I can't think of anything that interesting that I want to play.

Dotting this, interested.

What are magical spellcasters and magic in general like in the setting?

You can't keep that watching up forever.

I'll get the eye drops, then we can.

Very nice! Maybe Sonya heard some paladins complaining about the existence of illegal fighting rings in Magnimar haha

Luckily if any crafting happens on my end, it will be the very simple magic item crafting - every 1000g value takes 8 hours. Some minor other things like using spellcraft to meet requirements, but that probably won't be too much of a problem.

But if anyone is doing normal craft with their background skills, the unchained rulesystem is a little bit simpler and easier to walk through

So here's a question: if Seraka and Rokan are both from Shoanti tribes, would they know of each others tribes?

I'm always a fan of odd/outsider characters, it's what I usually tend to play.
I might have a feat slot open for Craft Magic Arms and Armor in the future, so it might even be possible to take your backstory longbow from 1 to 15 or whenever we stop!

No preference on the three! I've never used Roll20 for a play by post, only online games.

Ah you're right on the initiative! Bad math on my part.
I suppose I could afford a crossbow now with the profession roll - but yeah they're very disappointing weapons haha. I imagine all of the Abadar worshipers probably just get really fancy crossbows to hang on their mantle (and collect dust).

I didn't expand too much on that, you're right. I had imagined that they sent out people to go track her down, and when she came back it was the kind of quiet disappointment. If she hadn't left she might have had a bigger part in the business in Magnimar, but instead it was a sort of "well until we can trust you a bit more, go make sure your grandfather has everything he needs in Sandpoint."

I always end up writing all sorts of a bunch of stuff for my characters and how I expect to play them, and then the game starts and I end up playing them differently than I expected. So now I'm trying to just focus on backstory and facts, and letting personality show up more naturally.

No worries! I'll probably flip between silly little decisions right up until we start haha

Profession (Merchant): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Cash money!

Reworking some of my answers to those questions - I realized that I was just kinda restating things I had already mentioned or explained in my backstory, instead of expanding in some way.

Also I'm torn between whether I should go for Ultimate Mercy. It's super cool, I have the stats to get it early and I love the idea - but it also takes 2-3 feats to get, and would probably be unused for most of the campaign. Plus we'll already have a cleric and druid, so pretty easy access to 'no wait, I don't wanna die' sorts of spells.

Edit: I suppose it won't matter until level 3 when I have to choose a new feat anyway which is a long ways off - I just always try to plan too far ahead of time. Back to writing!

Only thing I noticed is that the "Where would they like to be in 10 years" ends in a sentence fragment.
Looks really cool otherwise!
