Interest Check - Higher Level Gestalt AP

Hey guys! I tried to host a game, some months ago, but it didn't go too far - it was one of my homebrew, and some of the particular environment rules weren't working well for the players and I decided to pull it out.

Yet, I've been thinking about the possibility of hosting another game, but based on an existing AP. I would, however, bump the characters' level - probably start around level 10, instead of 1, and make them Gestalt. It would obviously affect the encounters as well, but the narrative of the AP would stay the same, as well as the environment.

Would we have enough interest? The adventures I could run would be Wrath of the Righteous, Mummy's Mask or Way of the Wicked.

if 3pp is involved, i'm interested.

I would be interested in Either Wrath or Mummy's Mask, I've started both but none of the campaigns have lasted. I've got character ideas for each.

Hmm! Interested, and rooting for Wraith.

I'm in dot.

My vote is for Wraith.

GM:

If you arw thinking of doing this supersize game could I offer up some views. Not everyone will agree with them and they are my views alone but...

If you going Gestalt, then you may wish to rule out templates and monster races.
If you do letting take up one side with NPC class in all none used CR levels seems to work.

I have Seen games like this get very broken with ether in play. But your call.

Also pregame Crafting, can brake thongs, you get some mighty crafter with mega kit blasting everything before a party gets close.

I mysele always go, 3ed party by GM agreement but that's me.

Some may ask about 'spheres of power' hero poibts and psinocs, even maybe the honor system. They are whole other systems and that's all you call.

I like SoP and psinocs so I'll ask about them.
Would you consider them?

Played in a Mummy's Mask, sort of, about a third of it. Went downhill.

Haven't played Wrath of the RIghteous.

If it's Way of the Wicked, I'll pass. :) I play bad guys all the time as GM. Would prefer to play a good guy as a player. :)

Only weird things I'd ask about are playing awakened animals or unfettered eidolons (basically a summoner without the summoner).

Sounds interesting!

I would like to try this. Wrath of the Righteous seems like the most fun.

I'm interested, although I wound up GMing wotr, and actually don't much care for playing it.

How would you deal with having more versatile characters than the module is written for? The starting plot of book 1 of WotR is pretty much rendered pointless by 1 casting of dimension door, for example.

I have never finished Wrath game always dies. Book 3 is as far as I have got to see. I love high level play so yep.

I would love this. My preference is way of the wicked or mummy's mask, but I would probably apply for wrath as well even though I'm playing one already (though with nerfed mythic rules).

I would be SO up for a high power WotR. I've had a character I wanted to play again for a literal year, since the GM of the last one vanished.

I've never played or read through any of Mummy's Mask though, so that could be really cool to experience all fresh faced and new!

Sounds like the kinds of questions I like to ask... though I sometimes include griffons. :D

Hey guys, Chess here!

I don't usually allow anything third party - I simply don't like it on the games, and I feel the official materials offer enough variety already. The same goes for unusual player races - more than likely I'd restrict it to the core races plus some of the uncommon and featured.

I like high powered games and would love to see cooler stuff into play - stuff the lowest levels wouldn't be able to do. The point is that I'll have, also, to adapt the journey to handle the higher levels, to prevent plots from being ruined due to a higher level spell or similar (like the dim door example). That's part of the work - while still trying to keep the essence of the journey there.

If you never played beyond book 1 of these adventures than it's fine, but I probably won't pick you if you went beyond that or are playing the same AP elsewhere. With that said... what would be the AP you guys prefer, assuming we still have enough interest?

Only one I've played at all was Wrath of the Righteous (but we didn't even escape the caves). I do have a preference for Wrath of the Righteous, but I'm up for any of them.

I don't really know anything about Mummy's Mask or what setting or themes that path has.

If you won't pick anyone who have played further than book 1, then I guess wrath is out for me. I would love either of the two others though.

I have no problem with not allowing 3pp. How do you feel about prestige classes? Is it fine to pick one as long as you qualify all on one side of the 'stalt?

I don't think you will have a problem finding interest. Nate Lange's 10th level gestalt rise of the runelords drew over a dozen applicants iirc.

I don't suppose you would want to include mythic in the non-Wrath paths?

Definately interested.... Any ap is good with me

EGYPT! That is all you really need to know. If it's an iconic Egyptian thing, it's in Mummy's Mask. :D

I'll bow out then. :) Good luck!

I am interested so much in this.
How would your Ability Scores get generated?

I am very interested. I'd really like to go beyond book 1 in Wicked, but I'm okay with Mummy's Mask. I'm already in a Wrath game that got to book 2, so that's out.

I'd love to try Curse of the Crimson Throne, personally.

Definitely interested. Wrath would be my choice, because I've wanted to try Mythic forever.

Still interested and I'd prefer Mummy's Mask then, WotR. I've no interest in playing the bad guys.

I'm always interested in Gestalt. Keeping an eye on this.

As for what AP I'd prefer, I'd probably take any. I think I'd be most interested in probably Kingmaker, Wrath of the Righteous, Hell's Rebels, Skulls & Shackles, Reign of Winter, Gianslayer, or Council of Thieves. I've played a little of some of them, but never at a high level.

Grand Lodge

I'm opting for mummy mask.

dotting with interest

voting Wrath of the Righteous

Dot.

The only AP's I'm not interested in are Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the crimson throne, and Jade Regent.

Oh! Mummy's mask is good!

Never played Wrath of the Righteous. Mummys mask started but did not last a week in RL stalled after introduction and dropped dead when GM moved Jobs.

1. Mummy's mask
2. Wrath of the Righteous

I could definitely be down with a high level, gestalt Wrath of the Righteous.

Though, I have a few interesting ideas for Mummy's Mask too, Wrath is one of the few games I dearly want to play, and get further than like page 5. Haha.

Thanks, guys! It looks like we have enough interest on both Mummy's and Wrath. I'll analyze your comments and ideas and see what I can come out with on the next weeks. Stay tuned :)

Will do.

Both sound interesting for me, with a preference for Wrath of the Righteous.

Gestalt AND mythic? Oy.

I have a fair amount of experience with mythic, very little with gestalt, but this does sound intriguing. Any of the listed APs would be good, with personal preference to Mummy's.

Just out of sheer curiosity Chess, but would you be willing to run any of the other APs with these rules, or just the three you listed?

I still would like to get through Wrath of the Righteous. I'd be up for that.

I'll have to purchase, and I prefer getting one of these three :)

Mummy Mask then as it is the only one I have not played. Book 3 for wrath and started book 2 in way of the wicked. Fun fact on Way of the Wicked. I have broke out of the prison 7 times. I sure would like to see where that game goes but I have been in book 2 :(

This looks interesting.

I have played Mummy's Mask well into the path. So if you play that you would likely not choose me:( We started Way of the Wicked some time back, but didn't get far. And Wrath of the Righteous I haven't played at all.

I'd estimate that only 0.00004% of WotW games ever get past book 1.

Compared to the average rate of 0.00005% for other adventure paths.

In an IRL game, played that one to book 3 I think. Pbp I could see that as a true statistic.

That high?

Looks like there's pretty even preference for Wrath of the Righteous and Mummy's Mask. I'll have to read up on Mummy's Mask players guide if that's chosen.

Sovereign Court

I'm very interested, I've made gestalt characters before, but none have been chosen for campaigns so I would really over to to play one. As for the campaign I haven't played any of them so I'm pretty for any of them.

The Exchange

Wrath of the Righteous and Mummy's Mask both sound pretty neat. I'm not particularly familiar with either other than the basic theme.

I would like to call dibs on an Unchained Monk//Warpriest Combo.. just saying.
