Grabbing hold of the ladder, the Elf tries to pull himself up and out of the rising water.

The queasy feeling in Rithon's stomach doesn't abate- but he has no choice but to press on. His light blue robes are now tattered and covered in blood though his wounds are much better than the amount of blood would indicate.

More pale than ever, Rithon produces a smooth, black wand and taps himself. The sickly dark energies flow over his body, and the familiar queasiness overcomes his stomach.

I'll end up doing two usages of Infernal Healing, +20 HP over 2 minutes. Anyone else who is OK with infernal healing, I am happy to give you healing as well, just let me know how many 'boops' to mark off

I was just trying to stay away from the negative energy blast. I am still a full round from having another magic missile- so I am functionally worthless, especially since he can keep healing himself while blasting us. I think that we need to hit the red guy with everything we have- or this risks being a tpk .

Grease:
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can’t move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature requires its bearer to make a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape a grapple, and to their CMD to avoid being grappled.

This casting of the Toppling Magic Missile would be my last one of the day, and I would still have 4 AR remaining.

For the AR, I wanted to increase caster level to increase the roll against spell resistance, and the roll against CMD for the trip (CL + Stat)

Regarding SR:
Rithon is a CL 5 for Magic Missile (Spell Specialization), +2 for being an elf. An additional +1 for the AR point should get me to 8.

Uncomfortable in the water, Rithon quietly complains to himself about the indignity of the situation. The ripples draw his attention and he soon sees a the worm that is causing all of the problems.

Reflexively, he goes to form an orb of acid only to realize that it will not work under these conditions. Instead he swings around his light crossbow and fires at the creature.

The slime on his arm snaps Rithon out of his trance. He looks somewhat shaken, and takes a moment to clean his glasses and piece everything together.

"Oh, sorry. I guess I did get lost in thought there, for a moment. Where were we? Oh right, the book. It definitely isn't a book on pottery. It looks like they hid their demonic rituals in plain sight. I gives me a better idea about what is going on, I think it may end up being helpful."

The elf pauses for a moment and nervously readjusts his glasses once more.

"I do believe that the mist producing one could be of use to me, if no one else objects" and he takes to scroll before anyone has a chance to object.

Setting the book down he looks up to the others, adjusts his glasses and slides the book forward. "This book of pottery is actually a manual for demonic rituals. I have a feeling we may be facing more of the same as we move forward."

"This one is meant for healing, and these two are to help endure elements. This one enlarges and this one shrinks as well, if anyone would have use for such parlor tricks" and he walks away from the table without so much as moving the potions.

Why can't I figure out this stupid monocle. It seems so simple yet...

A tall, awkward, elf greets the dwarf with an aloof stare. A moment passes, the elf blinks several times, before snapping out of whatever thoughts had occupied his mind.

"Oh! You are new here!" is his only exclamation. "Where are my manners. The name is Rithon. I was just contemplating what it might look like if I could leverage some of the magical energies associated with these missiles to perhaps de-balance these pesky goblins and the like we keep running into." With that, the lithe- almost sickly- elf extends a limp, un-calloused towards the dwarf.
