Hello again, sorry for being so quiet. "Gomen Nasai!" I've been expecting a trip to Washington and that happens tonight! My character is mostly fleshed out in NotePad, offline, and will be posted when I land and get adjusted to me' new accommodations. A little insight to him, His name is Tiel Exas Veredi and he is a sylph sorcerer whose bloodline is Starsoul. He will (hopefully) excel at being a Combative Caster while also supplementing his Spells known with a few widely useful spells (in my mind, this is how he will turn out). I will post with the profile here when i get the alias updated. I hope to join everyone soon,
Hello everyone. Sorry for, as Maestro had said, "Taking his time with it". I have had schooling and tutoring enter my life quite recently which has turned my schedule and extra time into, well, shambles. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Nehowshgen Min, Maestro's brother. I was intrigued about Reign of Winter and was thinking about introducing a sorcerer in order to fulfill that missing caster's position. It will be up preferably tomorrow if Time would lay off me a bit. So, hello everyone. I look forward to playing with you all.
Hello Everyone!
... That is, Official recruitment is finally up!
I will start pm'ing people here who haven't checked in tomarrow...

I was sort of assuming within discernible ear range with that, but I get your point.
Going back to Demons Souls with this one. "Sticky white stuff ahead." I always had to wonder 'Why?' whenever I played online.
Heya everybody! Its been awhile, I know. But I'm still fervently cracking away at character creation and trying to build the large... quite large, manse/building/structure/bleh that will be the main area of the game; a nexus if you will. In the meantime, depending upon how much stuff i'll be implementing to add-on to character creation, I thought it'd be best to present something for everyone to start thinking about for OFFICIAL RECRUITMENT so it won't take too overwhelming. So without further ado... Your Grey Piece and You!: Because of the nature of the place you have been brought to, all characters for recruitment will make a Grey Piece item.
GreyPiece:
1) Choose your Grey Piece's Shape; It should be no bigger than something that can fit in your hand or be slipped into a shirt pocket. 2) Choose your Grey Piece's Material. I don't care what it's made of as it doesn't matter. Any special benefits confered from that material are lost and hp and hardness are all the same. More on this later 3) Choose a single Cantrip/Orison. This will be endowed as a part of your piece and usable. More on this later 4) Choose a non-benefical aspect. Anything from "it glows green" to "it encircles it's bearers hand when held". This Aspect may BECOME beneficial depending on the situation... so choose wisely... but none of that "it sings when people lie" crap. 5) Take a little time to write your pieces backstory. It should be distinguishably seperate but can be included within your characters backstory. Have fun with it. I'm looking for something between 2 sentences to a paragraph... more if you feel like it. 6) Name it. (Optional) 7) Choose it to be a Wondrous Item or a Slotted Item. This has the following effects:
I'll continue working and will have OFFICIAL RECRUITMENT up in just a few days.

Alright... Yeah no problem. Instead of altering backstory, I will have it in a separate "Item Description" area where I will talk about the "Master Key" and the... I am going to go with the "Labyrinthika". It flights my flancy. Will have FULL CHARACTER POST later today.
Hello, a quick update on my character.
Backstory: Ushio has a family of two. His family consists of his mother and sister, Ritsu and Shiro. He had always been really close with his family, especially so since his mother fell ill with a mysterious disease. Ushio returned weekly from the city to ensure that his mother's condition wasn't worsening, paying the local priest to come every day to heal her. Though these daily healings worked to only recede the illness and could only help aleviate some of its symptoms. Having to pay the priest to come everyday was tasking, and so Ushio turned to a life of crime. He mostly stole and sold items in the underground and only killed if his targets were just as or more malicious and vile than himself. However, one day, he recieved a letter from the local priest that was healing his mother, Ritsu. It said that his mother had stopped benefiting from his healings and most likely wouldn't make it past the fall. Even as he read the words, Ushio was on his way home. Soon after that day his mother had passed but not before passing on the illness to Shiro. Ushio, hadn't wanted Ritsu to die, and now even more so with Shiro. And so every morning he went on his way to the church, to pray from morning to night while the priest continued healing shiro, coming by every few hours to check up on her. A month went by, and Ushio had barely eaten and barely slept; spending every waking hour devout in prayer. However, Shiro's condition continued to worsen. He could not understand what kind of God would allow his constant prayer to go unanswered; to allow his innocent sister to continue to die. And on the night the snowflakes had fell, autumn turning over for winter, Ushio in his weakened state cursed his god's name and left the church, a man no longer under Immortals. That night venturing home, the chill and cold seaped into his wasted muscles and collapsed him. Ushio lost consciousness... His last goal in life to return to his sister and make her well.... Ushio awakes in the Labyrinth...
I LOVE THIS! Ok, rolls...

Hmm... Hmm... Hmmm... 1) As of this moment, no but I may feel compelled to crack those spell lists out given enough time. My only concern is "Does it fit within the scheme of things?". So if I can make it fit, I'll have it up in the ACTUAL recruitment post.2) The being, "Creator of the Manse" (or whatever else I'm going to call him), has placed upon himself his own 'ground rules' and can only bid his servants/housekeepers orders and commands, in secret I might add. In doing so and among everything else he can have them do, he can have them relay his words or instructions if he so feels like intervening, though many of his servants do not even know who the man is nor if he is man. And to this point, again, he loves the idea of 'ground rules' or 'restrictions' and won't at any time claim every housekeeper in his domain just to TPK the party, even if he feels threatened; That's just a poor response when being 'taunted at' in his own 'game'.

I am still creating the ACTUAL game and will pm everyone that has posted here about it as well as upload a final post here relating where the actual recruitment page is once I'm done. And I actually have no idea what Tower of God is. I may need to look it up sometime... Gars DarkLover wrote: How would the place affect Divine Casters and their connection to their Divine Patrons? And Witches for that matter? In Long hand, Without giving out precise information on how the dimension functions or its true purpose, I can say that Divine Casters will still feel their connection to their deity but pretty much anything that requires communication to your deity will be worded differently as their will be no "Direct" communication. Not being too keen with the number of things that correlate with a divine caster's "connection" to their Patron, I'm going to try to keep everything in the wording that "Your patron cannot directly interfere or help in any situation though any powers, benefits, or effects will be upheld. In Short hand, communication is extremely limited though your connection is still upheld to it's fullest extent. As for witches, it is pretty much the same. Whether your all too familiar or ignorant of your patron, either way communication will be limited and mysterious at times but anything pertaining to them will still be upheld within game to the fullest extent. As well, I will have something up in a week for ACTUAL Recruitment. Things have been sorta hectic at work and some RL stuff at the hospital but no worries, I'm still cracking away and trying to get something tangible to bring come post day.
Heyo! So, after deciding to re-write my character from scratch to ensure I made the least amount of Errors, Faralen N. Ealdewood Is done... Mostly. I believe the only few things I am missing are Personals, Fate points (I remember now I forgot to put down the 3) and the Character Aspect. If I am missing anything else or I have errors, please notify me. I will get to work on the flavorful story stuff in the morning because I want it to be good and my brain doesn't write well at all at... 1:54 in the morning.

Hey, um Question.
Please let it be clear that I don't want this to become something that takes over this recruitment thread, its mostly directed at the Gm. Its rather sort of unclear whether these two archetypes can mix. There is a Forum that discusses it and brings up some rather good points. Though I will point it out, that, on the d20pfsrd under magus, it states that the arcane pool (the ability that is the conflicting problem), on the archetype table at the bottom, is CHANGED by both, not REPLACED which is the term they use to define what makes a archetype incompatible with another that as well has the term 'replaced'. Anyway, I'm looking for a house ruling since no official statement is on the issue. Is it ok to have a BladeBound EldritchScion Magus? AS WELL, the potions I rolled were wrong. I went for specifics, not their level. 1st and 3rd levels...
Absolutely Interested!!!
Magic items! Lets see here...
Hm... Slowly but surely people are coming by... Ok, I will start planning on specifics and fine tune/dust the story, setting, character creation set-up, "Game Rules", ect. I may have something up in a week or two, less if more people drop by. Not to say I'm greedy for interest or attention but much more just moral boosts that will keep me going at a faster and studious pace.
Ok, Faralen W. Ealdewood is Done. I tried going another route with background than I usually do and hopefully it is something that couples with 'Interesting'. One of my hands is buggered up from work today, got a wire stuck a few centimeters through it and its been in pain since which has made me make all sorts of errors in typing, then I have to redo it, and then it starts becoming strenuous and time consuming, and blah blah blah. Needless to say, I Blame my hand as I would have wrote more and in better depth. But, bleh, It's done. So, Huzzah.
It wasn't at all.
As well, almost done with Faralen. Have most of it completed on notepad but I will update it to the profile page when the backstory is done... have to work out a few things.
Alright, I'm back and there's more time, cool. I had a bit of overtime at work today so it is a bit later than I thought. But Faralen will be done tonight. "There's a door, it's locked on multiple scales involving both magic and engineering"
Not sure that 12 people have posted yet; dont have the time really, got to get going to town and stuff. But heres my character:
He is not completely done yet but when i get back home in liiikkkkeee 7 hours, i will do the traits and personals (description, backstory, ect.). Hopefully see ya then.
TheWaskally wrote: I am interested on your rules for character generation, allowed classes and races, stuff like that. I ideally, when and if this gets a bit of attention or I want to turn it into something regardless, Would be doing the popular 1-for-1 point buy system with 20 points available. All pathfinder races and classes would be allowed with 3rd-party being subject to presentation (maybe yes, maybe no).Money would be handled by me because of the system I have in mind. Starting level would be something like level 3. Otherwise, the works: 2 traits with the option of a 3rd w/ drawback, level 1 feat, yadda yadda yadda... Tarondor wrote: I am curious. I'd like to see this exact concept, but with a roleplaying-heavy focus. Well, that was just sort of what I thought would be the angle of the game. Now that I'm reflecting on it (now that its not 1:43 AM!) it would really be decided by the Players. Since every combat opportunity is right there lying in some portals in the house, the PC's would have the ability to wave off every single story arc or plot device I throw at them and just level all the way to revivification. So regarding the roleplaying aspects of the house, they will be there its just rather dependent on the party how much of it will be drawn into with depth.
The darkness that gripped me became thrown from my eyes. A greeting from an antique of a ceiling welcomes me. Where am I? What is this place? I recognize none of it; all of it feels abnormal... I hear footsteps? I raise to my knees to find a woman walking through the hallway towards me. "Another stranger means to visit us it seems. Pray tell, What is your name passerby?" She leans down, trying to look at my face. How full of concern it must be. I'm sure I seemed unsettled, disturbed, questioning, even to this a question to which I should readily know the answer. I searched for the words but none met my lips. "Hmm, don't worry about the name. Sometimes I forget myself; no one arrives here with a full mind. But you'll remember it in due time, every player does. Well now, Up Up! Come with me, we have much to discuss about your stay here... however long that will be, that is..." This is a thought I've been throwing around forever now and I thought I'd present it to the community to see how much of a response it gets before throwing it into full throttle as an actual campaign. (And yes, this is a modified, borrowed idea from another source. Good luck finding it.) The setting is of a structure overhanging a nigh endless cosmos of nothingness. This building inhabits a place between time and space that lies within the cleanly hands of its multiple servants that provide "players" with the services they require, enabling them a chance at escaping the boundaries they now do so find themselves entrapped in.
As the pc's would progress through the game, all the Dungeons will increase in difficulty as well as options that were previously unavailable becoming available. There will (most likely) be random events and hazards that befall each dungeon as well as quests that some of the servants issue for special rewards at the end. The campaign itself will be Combat Heavy but that's not to say that story purposes would be neglected. I hope to create unique backstories for every Servant of the house as well as one for the mysterious owner of it who will be continually though slowly revealed as to whom this person is and why they aren't out and about the house like the other servants. Feel free to ask questions. I hope that people find this interesting and please DOT if you are.
Still working on my character, but I thought I'd collect the character's that have been presented for ease of selection thus far. Frederik Kleinhammer - Freak Ranger (Trapper)
I may have missed some people. If so, I'm sorry. It was hard to find some because I was looking mostly for actual aliases. Though I found two that were posted but it is always better when looking for characters if they have an actual alias page. Anyways, Please post your Character below if I missed you.
Whoo! Almost done! Will post character tomorrow 'cause right now, it's like... no it's exactly 1:39 AM. Sooo, checking back in the morning. So far, I believe the only thing im missing is the majority of background, Feats, and a few small things like equipment and affected AC.
Newbonomicon wrote: Honestly, the underwater combat rules aren't that bad, they just happen to favor melee piercing weapons more than anything else. yeah, just looked at them. hmm, looking through the other psionic stuff to find something a little different. was thinking about soulknife focusing on throwing weapons but throwing weapons don't work.
Would you let any psionics from dreamscarred press in?
Beyond that, love what your doing here, I'll start up with two characters soon (one being "yes" to the above question).
Hey, I don't mean to impose. This isn't so much as a new application as it is one I posted but never got around to finishing because of being sick. But here's the finished product:
As for the RP sample:
RP:
Tiel looks awe stricken as she sizes up the building before her. People walking by have to sidestep around her as she pauses mid walk in the street. A women bumps into her. "Ah, I'm sorry miss. I haven't had my mind about me, is everything ok?" Tiel swerves her attention to the woman. "Oh, its nothing. All my belongings appear to be in well enough shape." The woman looks confused for a second. "But... No, I meant are you... (sighs) I guess it doesn't matter, have a fine day." The woman starts walking away. Tiel does a double take after her, and on the second, calls after, "Hey." The woman turns around for a second. "Excuse me, yes? "This is the Caravan Master's Office, yah? "Well, of course." "Good, bye." Tiel walks into the Office of the Caravan Master. The man behind the desk looks up and sits back in his chair. "My, My! What can I do for you lass? Tiel was slightly taken aback by the remark. "Um, I uh, I'm here to join an expedition down into the Stolen Lands." Tiel pulls a paper from her satchel and places it on the table. The man was then taken aback by this. "The Stolen Lands? What would a girl like you be hoping find in dangerous place like that?" "Is that really any of your business?" "No, hum, I guess it isn't", the Caravan Master stuttered. He started his look over the papers. "You sure your going to be fine miss?" Tiel cracked a smile as she held her hand aloft, tiny electric pulses jumping between her fingers and palm. "Surely." The Caravan Master went back to looking over the papers... I apologize for not getting it done sooner and hope I'm not being too much of a nuisance. Also, good luck to your computer problems.
Hello Again! Character creation took a little more time than expected and so I have not selected the 2 Traits, spells that would be prepped, and the background/description stuff is still not done as well. I just wanted to post a link for what I have done for view so if I made any mistakes they could be corrected or asked about. Character in the link below.
Yeah, I wanted to create an origin for Allan Daxton where the GM could have a something to use if he so wanted. So, you know, go nuts with it if ya think you could do something with it. On the monk note, I wanted to sort of evoke in the back story without directly involving such a powerful being that the whole mystic part came about indirectly because of the ash wolf. I know the entire story is a little rough on the edges but for his training, he is mostly self-trained. In the beginning, he was given the necessary teaching from the police but he did the rest on his own; exercising his muscles and perfecting his dexterity while practicing combat with other police members and on small time criminals. And as to why he IS a monk, he prefers fighting without weapons because he feels as though when Raina was taken, he was useless with or without them, and that in order to save Raina as well as defeat her kidnappers, he should rely on his own body. As well, in combat with weapons, it makes him feel more out of focus and less engaged than when he's using his own body. The monk class just seemed to fit him over most of the other fighting classes because of their focus on weapons. If there are still discrepancies, please feel free to inquire and I'll be happy to oblige and/or correct myself. :)
Alright, I have hit out a lot of what needed to be done if not everything. If you have anything I need to change or have questions, message me or post and I'll be happy to talk it out or oblige.
