Lvl 2 character here.

But, what do you mean by ABP: always be posting? I assume this is a posting speed, or a live chat client style? Once you get past 1/day, may availability is erratic and unpredictable. Some days I can post 2-5 times, others I have trouble posting once before the next day starts.

Grand Lodge

Oh, I see. Play Yumiki for one scenario, then bring in Naomi. Lol. I can't believe I didn't catch that. :)

I'm up for that.

If you fill in with a different character for one scenario then we will all be on three XP together.
It's not a big deal, just an idle thought.

That isn't what I meant.

You have two xp, so if my one xp character completes an adventure to become two xp, then you all would have completed an adventure and become three xp.

Basically, you all will be perpetually either one xp ahead of Lady Yumiki, or one xp behind Naomi.

If I had a gm that was faster or slower than yours, eventually the difference could be caught up, but that would require a couple adventures (I doubt either side will play adventures twice as fast as the other), thus by that time, the empty slot will have been filled.

Grand Lodge

Wouldn't you all be on lvl 2 by then?

Grand Lodge

I have this character to submit, she is at 3 xp, so is lvl 2.0. I haven't played any season 6, though have read through 2 of them, but I didn't see them in the list in the op post.

I also have a 1 xp character as well.

Was waiting on seeing the fifth player's character, so I exclude them, if they use a pregen, from rolling for which pregen they use.

If they don't show up by tonight, I'll probably just roll anyway.

Either way, I'll need someone to add me to the slide for table 1.

I'll challange myself by rolling from whoever remains. :)

I'd like to sign up, but I can't edit google stuff to put myself on the sheet.

Still here for table 2.

Good gming Kuey, definitely above the average. I would suggest though, that if you have a player in the future with issues with google stuff, to either make separate files, or overwrite the earlier maps. Towards the end the download time got to the point I never saw the final battle map. Hopefully though, you won't need to worry about it.

I have mixed feelings on the scenerio, it felt like like one person drafted an awesome design that rewarded the sort of wisdom that real warriors would need, but then felt like someone else tried to secretly punish any sort of wisdom or intelligent thought.

I.e. the rubies having a different (and less favorable) chance of activating than stated, as one of a few things.

Naomi wraps her tail around one of the master's arms, squeezing to keep hold and to hopfully break through next time the shield weakens. Assuming he doesn't do anything to prevent it. Either way, she waits for a shimmer in the shield to attack it hoping to overwhelm the shield. She is otherwise focusing on defense.

Fort vs stun: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18Success!

Naomi has been hurt before and so the monk's strike fails to phase her, denying the monk the expected opening. At the offending monk, "I am many things, but foul I am not!"

To all the others in the room, "The Emissary's defenses are tied to the disciples. Make your attacks simultaneous to make an opening!"

Despite thinking there is some mage armor type effect in play, Naomi looks closer in between dodging strikes, to determine if it really is a defense, or if the emissary and monks are merely illusions.

Naomi continues forward towards the emissary, dodging attacks and forgoing any offense just yet.

If AOOs can't be avoided, let me know. I'll make some tumble checks and might slow pace to keep the number down if it gets really bad. Then again, Naomi might just run over the top of anyone in the way. :)

As a spell-like ability, that's debatable, but your call.

In a defensive stance, Naomi moves past the monk, avoiding the reach and attention of enemies while aiming for the emissary.

Total defense and move.

Perhaps not the most team friendly move, but given the objective, there isn't a lot of room for teamwork except perhaps moving in a formation.

In any case, Naomi won't be stupid about moving up. She'll move, tumbling through threatened squares when they can't be avoided, then using total defense for the ac bonus.

Eyes on the prize guys, the elementals are a distraction, something to circumvent, nothing more.

My boon roll,
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Not like I'll ever get one, wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.

Naomi's delayed turn was from face palming, "We don't need to defeat, nor even fight these. Just get past them."

Putting her words to practice, Naomi readies a shadowstrike (as a touch spell, it'll hold as a charge until she gets touched) for the prep round.

From here on out, Naomi's focus will be on moving towards the platform, using acrobatics as needed, but taking a zig-zag route to avoid AOOs where possible. If she runs into a wall of folks (two or more AOOs each space), she'll switch to total defense and take 5' steps each round to get closer.

Grand Lodge

I can see how an uncontrolled slide with a wall at the end might be a problem, but not for a controlled slide. Though the glitterdust trap could turn a controlled slide into an uncontrolled slide if you were not expecting it. In any case,

Naomi carefully wraps up in the cloak when going down the slide so only it gets dusted and then she puts it in the bags.

"Azhagoth, this is a warrior's tourny, not a killer's tourny. There is a difference. Each round has had objectives, none of the objectives have been purely to defeat others with martial prowess. None. A warrior is always aware of the ultimate objective of the battle, and uses tactics chosen solely to achieve that objective."

As they get to the room and the elementals move in, Naomi sees whatever Tai and the elementals do.

Why was the assumption a fight anyway? Aside from my original plan of mage hand, a group can easily have one person beside gong, with others filling adjacent spaces and either taking total defense, keeping the gaurdian from reaching the pc who uses the gong, or they each can ready actions to aid another for giving ac boosts to the target of the guardian's attacks.

I honestly expected the gaurdian to be tougher precisely because this is exactly the type of test designed to punish those ignoring the objective.

Personally, I would have made the gaurdian even tougher than you described, though favoring a more non-lethal approach if it were my design.

"You attacked him. That was completely unnecessary. You also fought like you were trying to kill him. That is why people got hurt. We could have done it without any of us getting hurt. You are just lucky the guardian was not more powerful. And it matters because it means in the future, I have to consider how easily the enemy can draw you away from the objective in upcoming rounds, leaving us exposed where you should be covering us rather than chasing down enemies. There was no need to strike at the guardian. All that was needed was to prevent the guardian from interfering with whomever rang the gong, and that could have been done without even drawing blood. Instead, you chose to cause needless pain to someone who doesn't deserve it, opponant or not, and got yourself and your teammates hurt needlessly. That is what a thug does, not a warrior.", nodding to Tai, "And Tai, I did not hesitate. I fell back behind you as part of a deception. I wanted him focused more on the other pairs so he wouldn't see what I was going to do. The guardian could have been far more powerful, in which case victory would not have been achievable via hurting it but only by ringing the gong, and I had no reason to believe the guardian would be so easy to impress, after all, he was chosen to face a group all by himself."

When all others climbed down, she double checked for anything dropped at the top, then grabbed the gong and used it to slide down the slope.

Hmm, sorry it took me so long, but while I see the advantage of searching for other traps, why did we clean up the grease? It could have been fun to simply slide down. Unless I'm missing something, like it being our only way out. :)

"So Azhagoth, any particular reason you ignored the objective? I mean, we could have made it out without anyone getting hurt." Naomi sounds rather conversational and curious.

"I have an idea, Azhagoth and Bishop go round the left, Ouncius and Lox go right. Each pair will have one who tries to sound the gong, while the other stands between their partner and the guardian. Don't bother attacking, just focus on parrying blows. Tai, move up slowly, we'll take center." As Naomi says this she moves behind Tai.

Ready action to move with Tai, assuming he follows the plan.

Naomi, you do not need to use a separate standard action to activate Shadowstrike. You activate it as part of an attack. So you can go ahead and make your attack. Otherwise, I'll take it that you delay.

Quote:
Shadowstrike (Sp): At 1st level, you can make a melee touch attack as a standard action that inflicts 1d4 points of nonlethal damage + 1 for every two sorcerer levels you possess. In addition, the target is dazzled for 1 minute. Creatures with low-light vision or darkvision are not dazzled by this ability. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.

Timing is important in showmanship. I waited with a held charge intentionly, part of my setup for next round when I will unarmed strike (thus discharging the shadowstrike) and make a comment about them being dazzled by my awesome power. As for damage, I somehow missed that shadowstrike is nonlethal, but since it is, I'll not worry about the damage (though it is something to consider addressing in my own system).

Something to keep in mind. You can play the story with support from the rules, or you can play the mechanics like a game of chess with the trappings and appearance of a story. I do the former, not the latter. So don't worry so much. I'm not here to play strategy, I'm here to play story.

Naomi strides forward with an exaggerated and laughable swagger, obviously getting into the act. In an overconfident characterized voice, "I'm Lucky Panda, and I'll not be fooled by such trickery!" turning to the audience and pointing her broom at their opponants, "Very hard to mistake a smell like theirs." She finishes the sentance with with a wave in front of her nose with a face of smelling something horrid.

Naomi clearly knows how to work a stage, even projects voice without yelling.

Turning back to the opponants, she subtly casts Silent Image, ready to release it at the right moment.

If it is possible, I'd rather use my Shadow Strike's dazzling effect, if I can restrain the damaging aspect. The damage is cl based, while the dazzle is not, so I figure it should be possible to cast the ability at low enough power that the damage is effectively reduced to zero.

Naomi calls out to Azhagoth You mind if I shorten that to Az?, "You fail to understand. It is easy to kill or wound. To take someone alive and unharmed is far more difficult. To strike true, yet without following through, to prevent injury to your target takes greater control*. This, for all the fun it'll be, will be the toughest battle yet. Even more so, because not only do we fight, but we must limit ourselves in the fight to take unharmed as well as paying attention to the audience and making it entertaining. So do not for a moment think this an unworthy test of a warrior's skill, for this is the most taxing yet on your ability to focus and maintain control."

Naomi then asks the assistants about the costumes, their meanings, roles, etc. In the end she chooses the female chou.

I know this isn't mechanically accurate, but it is true (oftentimes missed by untrained folk because they don't know how to kill). I consider this aspect being off, a sacrifice the abstraction in the mechanics make to remain easy and fun.

Now that I think of it, it was a different pfs account that got the wayfinder, (the code on my card from the convention wouldn't work when I joined online) but I just never bothered really. Didn't seem that useful, of course, I don't remember them holding ioun stones back then, but maybe I just didn't look close enough.

In any case, Naomi recognized it, but she remembered that the people running the tourny are on the lookout for pathfinders, and thus she doesn't want to reveal her association to the pathfinders if at all avoidable, and is kind of doing a mental facepalm that everyone is so trusting of some random stranger just because he flashed a device that is feasibly, if not easily, obtainable by an enemy that is specifically on the lookout for contestants with such associations.
