Thanks for sticking around! It’s been a crazy week plus. We found out my wife is pregnant (woo first kid!), work’s been busy, upgraded from an iPhone 6S to 13 Pro (I’m in the future!) and now her parents are up to help me install a new outlet in our pantry. I almost had a post ready yesterday, but had to run off. I should have posted something in the discussion.

Tawg skips a breath when Araton says that Timeon sees the group as heroes. "We did try to save the cooks back at the prison! Maybe we can save Timeon, too!" Tawg pushes his way around towards Timeon. "Hey! You are in a cage right now. I lived a lot in a cage. It was small and not fun. Your master lead you in to this cage. How do you know he won't keep you from more cages? My friends," he waves his hand back at the group, "freed me from my cage. Upstairs are comfy cages with beds and servants! If you come with us, you'll get your own bed!" He gives another oversized smile, hopefully not freaking out the boy.

Thank you for bringing it up. The ground bits are fine, but the water areas are difficult terrain. For example, T7 is fine, T6 is difficult.

With the night looming, the party decides it's best to not stick around and attempt to find their way to whatever pillar the note spoke of.

Exploration Map
Exploration Rules:
• Each hex represents 1 hour of travel
• If you're moving stealthily, each person rolls Stealth and each hex represents 2 hours of travel
• When you move into a hex:
--- One person will make a Survival check with others aiding (I'll take the highest and add the aids)

--- The Survival and Perception checks will determine and influence what you find and what may happen.
• The map is oriented with north up, so when giving directions, you can move N, NE, SE, S, SW, or NW.

With a majority of the party without the ability to see clearly in the dark, Amestri's ioun torch keeps those members at least able to see their immediate surroundings as they venture north. After about 20 minutes, the party comes across a small stream. Looking over it, they see no danger and make quick work of crossing it without any trouble. Various nature sounds keeps the party on alert as they continue on.

After about another 45 minutes of walking, Johan pauses the group. He kneels and inspects the ground near some brush. He points out the tracks that indicate a group has been through here, travelling north. The night continues to get darker as any trace of sunlight has disappeared.

Tawg's eyes squint as a pain rushes through his head and locks him in place for a few seconds. When it subsides, he shakes his head and turns back to the group with a big smile on his. "This stuff makes your head feel good!" He pockets a couple pieces, thinking to snack on it later like candy, and follows after the party into the hallway.

If Gildevar doesn't spot any traps on the door, Tawg will approach and pick up a piece of the mold, giving it a sniff and a lick if his sniffing doesn't tip him off to anything bad.

The basement at my house isn't the greatest. Like, I can't stand up fully in it and it's got crap lighting.

But at least it doesn't have 9 seemingly deadly rooms with cryptic poetry lol The Cardinal needs to talk to a contractor.

Ramza and Druid, go ahead and give me more crunch for your characters. Cleric, Monk, Slayer, Witch should be a synergistic group!

Remember, we're doing Automatic Bonus Progression, so keep this in mind when you're building your character: "Items that only grant bonuses to AC, saving throws, and ability scores don’t exist in this variant, and wish and similar spells never grant inherent bonuses to ability scores. Magic weapons and armor do exist, but grant only special abilities, not enhancement bonuses".

Tawg trusted what Araton said. He grabs the dagger and cuts a clean spot on his arm, the pain not affecting him at all. He takes the quill, placing the tip in the stream of blood, and scrawls an X at the bottom of the page. Handing the quill to Araton, Tawg looks to the bald man. "This will be a special scar."

Yeah, I think the plan is:

Group A takes pot shots from the window. Group B waits at the door with tables until Group A returns. Then Group A and B move together towards the gatehouse.

The pot shots are meant to kill or at least distract some guards before storming the gatehouse.

So, those who are bow-capable sneak out the window and take a couple pot shots at the guards. Once they notice, we run back in, set the fire, then push forward out the front towards the gate.

You gotta start somewhere! The old man was our lemonade stand on a street corner. Soon enough we'll be selling our lemonade to local grocery stores and at fairs!

I'm not sure what the equivalency for that is in "people killing".

Tawg leans against the wall and looks around at the plaques and stuff. In the boredom of the moment, Tawg counts the heads in the room and he stands back up at attention, eyes wide and ears vertical, when he realizes they forgot the cooks! He reaches for the door but stops his hand just short, and slowly pulls back to his position. He doesn't know a lot, but he knows staying hidden is sometimes the best thing to do.

He takes a breath and wonders how it's going upstairs...

Regarding the AoO and grappling: Sorry about that. I don't think that changes anything if I substitute in an attack because my attack roll would be even lower.

Hey everyone! I'm sure we all know Paizo was down yesterday. I'm just able to log in for the first time and I'm in incognito mode, so I'm not sure what's going on. Full Round 4 Recap!

Shiv orders his Croc to move in and attack. The Croc scrambles across the slippery floor, not moving fast enough to dodge the oozy tentacle lashing out at it. (Rolled a 23. Croc takes 6 points of damage) Fighting through the pain, the croc bites into the tentacle. (Croc deals 3 damage to Slithering Pit)

Shiv then calls forth his spiritual weapon, which slashes down into the ooze creature. (Spiritual Weapon deals 3 damage to the Slithering Pit)

Lash stands as far back as the ledge and wall will let her and lines up two rapid released arrows at the Creeper. The first arrow falls short, falling into the far pit, but the second strikes true. (Lash deals 4 damage to the Creeper)

(Already did Kahli's, but will repost here) Kahli slides past the outstretched vines and slashes into the Creeper, green slimy water spraying onto the floor. (Kahli deals 3 damage to the Creeper)

Sim, after falling into the extradimensional pit, quickly composes himself, sheathes with weapon and shield, and gracefully climbs back out to join the party. (Sim just needs to choose a square to land on)

(Waiting on Marcos and Sim, then I'll finish out Round 4!)

Thanks Grengar! I threw some oversized Goblins at my PCs in my homebrew after they had gotten used to the regular Goblins and it was a fun change of pace, so I kinda built the character around that variant.

I love the idea of a Large goblin with a bite attack ripping people apart. We'll figure out a way.

Tawg flinches at the loud clanging and a hushes. His eyes fall on the fellow prisoner returning to the cell and his ears physically perk up at the mention of getting out. He gives a side-eye towards where the guards are stationed and leans towards the group as far as possible. "If she can get us even nicer cages where we don't have to die, then I want to join you," he whispers, careful not to draw any attention from the guards again.

He takes a look at the fancy piece of cloth, but doesn't see anything special with it. "That looks pretty, but I don't think it would offer much protection in a fight," he says in a somewhat confused tone.

Not one unaccustomed to being chained up in a confined space, the large-for-a-Goblin Goblin found a sort of comfort with manacles, metal bars and hard floors, enough so to have managed to fall asleep, at least for a short while. Sleep, Tawg learned, was a great way to pass the time. A deep voice wakes Tawg from a distance. Pulling against the manacles, he shifts so he's sitting back against the wall, his muscles bulging under his scar-covered skin to pull his stocky frame upright. The cold stone fully waking him from his dazed state and he looks to the left to see the others talking about...something, he wasn't sure what. I bet that large man in the other cage has the large voice. He yawns, his oversized teeth coming in to full view.

While the others converse, Tawg quietly scans the room, an almost childlike wonder in his eyes. As he does, the memories of the last few days rush back over him; the men in armor, the beatings, the name Markadian, the ruling, the abuse, Markadian, the chaining, Markadian. His breathing becomes more and more heavy and labored until the clanging from the large man snaps him out of it.

He blinks a few times before turning again to face the group. With a pale green expressionless face, the Goblin speaks with a strained voice in a tone that would almost be mistaken for innocence, "This would be a nice cage to live in if it didn't mean we were going to die."
