I updated the exploration map.

The diagonals show the line of sight of Lash through the portcullis.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to wish you all a happy weekend! I'm finally not busy so I can finish the first season of Avatar and start the second.

Aang or Korra? Both are great, but I like Aang much more!

Aang. The art direction in the season 1 finale was fantastic with the monochrome color.

Lash, you said you're going to jump down and roll.

When you deliberately fall any distance, even as a result of a missed jump, a DC 15 Acrobatics skill check allows you to ignore the first 10 feet fallen, although you still end up prone if you take damage from a fall.

Are you climbing down or jumping the full 20 feet down? How long is the rope?

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

Oh sorry, I was thinking about climbing down initially but changed it to a tumble when I edited my post before posting. I guess I forgot to change the dice title and the bonus. You can add 6 to that or take this one below.

Acrobatics (Tumble): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Sorry for the later than normal post! When your cat falls asleep on your lap, you're stuck. Them's cat rules.

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

I won't have time to post as it's my birthday. You can just bot me doing a flurry. I think that acid will miss too! Sorry!

Male NG halfling fighter 21 | HP: 235/235 | AC: 55 (25 Tch, 46 Fl) | CMB: +25, CMD: 50 | F: +25, R: +33, W: +24* | Init: +19 | Perc: +33, SM +3 | Speed 20ft | Active conditions: None.

Since Sim readied his action to attack using Fight Defensively, he never got the bonus to AC since the enemy never got within range to trigger his attack and defense. It was a hit on him if the acid attack targets Touch AC.

Now that he took the Total Defense action, the bonus are in effect with or without the enemy coming closer.

Sim, the attack against you was a 15. It's not a touch attack. Unless I'm way off, that doesn't hit.

Also, happy birthday Lash!

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

While I'm thinking about it- just want to point out to the party that I am wearing a weapon rack back pack loaded with 2 spears and a scimitar, so if anyone ever finds themselves short a weapon they can draw one off my back pack as a move action that does not provoke (just like you had it sheathed).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

That's really freaking cool lol

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

Yeah, it's just a pretty standard normal bit of equipment but not many people think to use it.

With the added shenanigan of making you roll 1s, it seems xD

I'll post the Chon Chon attacks after Kahli goes.

Also, while I'm here and thinking about it:

Natural 1s: Just an automatic miss. We won't do any weird "crit fails".

Leveling up HP: You can either take half HD +1 (example: d8 means 4+1=5) plus all your other stuff, or you roll against me and you take the higher roll.

Cleric of Calistria | HP: 30 (of 30) | Init: +2, MAB: +4/+5, RAB: +5 | Fort: +5, Reflex: +4, Will: +7 | AC: 19, FF: 16, Touch: 13 | Diplomacy: +10, Heal: +9, Know:Religion: +5, Perception: +13, Sense Motive: +10 | Selective Channel 7 (of 7) 3d3+ -3 to attack, Will DC15 to ignore the attack penalty | Bit of Luck 3 of 5 | Copycat 5 of 5 | CLW Wand Charges: 47 | 1 points INT damage

Done sorry. My action will take affect next round for one of Lash's attacks.

Note Lash. You decide what roll to use it on but have to do so before you know the result of the roll. Personally, I recommend waiting until your last roll unless you roll a crit and need to confirm....

No problem! I looked at your character and realized you had a ton of options, so I didn't want to assume anything and mess things up.

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

Alright, sounds good Kahli

I'm just letting you all know that for the next few days I'm going to be out of town. Afterward, I may have some crazy times to play catch-up with my store. Also, it seems like the laptop I use is on the way out, so it may be even longer if I get stuck without it working. I'll try to keep posting on my phone in the meantime if I have free time (which hopefully I should).

I messed up and didn't tell you guys that the Chon Chons are functionally Tiny, so they don't threaten any squares.

Not sure if that changes anything, but I figured I should tell you as your characters would know that.

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

Yeah, it's the acid that's keeping me back.

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

I'm back. Had no service so thanks for rolling for me

Random side question: My wife and I are picking up disc golf this weekend as we found out a park near our house has a course. Anybody play it and have any tips? I generally crappy at throwing a regular frisbee, but I'm hoping the more "engineered" discs will help me out.

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

Sadly I don't have any advice for you. My uncle is one of the largest distributors of them in the USA and has been for a long time, but I've never played it. :( It seems fun.

Don't know about disc golf. But for simple outdoor games I really like ladderball. Similar concept to horseshoes but no pits to dig or such. Amazon has a couple hundred different options for it.

My sister-in-law has a ladderball set. It is deceptively simple, but I like trying to get the rotation just right to land it on the rung I want.

We just got back from our game. 9 holes, par 29. I was 23 over par and she was 40 over. It was pretty windy for our first time trying it, so hopefully it'll be better weather as we get better at it lol

My right arm/shoulder is going to be sore tomorrow.

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

I'm not sure if its possible, but the theory here is that now that I am in position I can coup de grace it and my scythe does x4 damage which should get through the hardness.

Male NG halfling fighter 21 | HP: 235/235 | AC: 55 (25 Tch, 46 Fl) | CMB: +25, CMD: 50 | F: +25, R: +33, W: +24* | Init: +19 | Perc: +33, SM +3 | Speed 20ft | Active conditions: None.

Uhm... objetcs can't be the target of coup de grace, as it requires "a helpless opponent" and a Fort save, which objects will auto-pass. Even if they were able to be targeted, it would make no difference as objects are also immune to critical hits.

You are probably dealing just the normal scythe damage and that without considering the GM's imput if this is an adequate weapon (being a somewhat fragile slashing weapon, unlike an axe which is more robust), otherwise the damage could be reduced even further.

Yeah, no coup de grace, but you're dealing normal scythe damage minus the hardness.

To clarify the order of things, we're basically in round 2

Round 1 (surprise?):
Crossbow fired
Shiv ran

Round 2:
Crossbow fired
Shiv attacked
Kahli: Move to draw wand, move 30(?) feet into hallway
Lash and Sim holding back
Marcos left to go <-------We are here

Round 3 (to happen):
Crossbow fires (I've already rolled it and it will hit Shiv)
Everyone does their thing

So, I kinda played fast and loose with the measurements in the hallway. I was away from my computer and forgot how long it was. So I finally have the Updated Map.

The distances I gave were close, but not exact, so I put everyone into position based on what was said, not what the map said, so everyone got to move an extra bit.

The beams of vision are looking through openings in the walls and into other hallways. Soft edges means it goes on. Hard edges means wall.

Does that mean that Shiv has some room to move to his right?

No, that's a mistake with layering. The wall runs up to the crossbow. Marcos, you are standing next to an opening (M4 to M5) and there's one 30 feet ahead of Marcos (G4 to G5).

Would the opening be big enough to fit him? Or is it only a window?

Oh yeah, my bad. It's a walkthrough-able opening from the floor to the ceiling. Basically, thin walls separate the hallways and these openings allow you to walk between them.

Lol, okay :P

Shiv, in this encounter you took 8 damage, healed 4, then took 7, so you're down 11. I don't know what your hp is, but I think you're unconscious.

OK, I'm sorry y'all. I misread the hit points/hardness for the crossbow. Shiv, you took it out on your last swing. Luckily, the only thing that changes is Shiv doesn't take the extra damage, so he's only down 4hp from this encounter.

So, current state is: Shiv and Kahli are at the far end of the left hallway with a disabled crossbow. Marcos is in the middle of the left hallway, and has looked into the middle hallway and noticed the wire at his feet in the gap. Lash and Sim are at the doors (Lash, you get your arrow back).

Again, my bad!

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

I'll work that trap then

Disable Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

Sorry guys, these riots always just completely upend my week and on a short week already work completely ate my ability to post today.

INACTIVE Female Aasimar | HP: 48/48 | AC: 17 (T15, FF16) | INIT: +3 | Fort: +8 Ref: +6 Will: +9 (Acid/Cold/Elect Resist 5) | CMB: +4 | CMD: 19 | Ki Pool: 4/6 | Slowfall | SKILLS | Acrobatics +7 | Disable Device +12 | Perception +12 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6 | Survival +8 |

I'm sorry to hear that Shiv. I hope you guys are safe. As a media reviewer, I see a ton of these riot videos being put up on everyone's social media. They are crazy stuff. There is one in Louisville, Kentucky ramping up with fires and nonsense.

Yeah, stay safe everyone, no matter where you live. I'm in "middle of nowhere" Pennsylvania, and we've had our fair share of large protests in the last couple months.

Shiv, Could you put your HP in the Banner?

Do I need to use another charge from the wand before we move on? 1st level characters are too "squishy" to risk running at half HP....

AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 19/21 Croc HP 9/11 Samsaran Druid (Nature's Fang) 3

no- I think I was -4 so +9 takes me back to full?

I'll update the banner.

yeah, I'm safe where I am, I just work in emergency management for the National Guard so I have been scrambling figuring out how to feed/house Soldiers we sent off.

The Disable Device will be used for how well you apply the oil. It'll take a Stealth check to see how quietly you remove the bar. Someone can Aid.

Also, would a character recognize a language even if they don't speak it? I don't speak German, but I think I'd recognize it. I haven't found others asking that specific question.

That would depend on what's your linguistic formation and how many different languages have you been exposed to. I can recognise many different languages I don't speak, specially if they come from the Germanic family, but that's because I studied linguistics at University, I've been exposed to many languages in my home area and I love identifying languages and accents xD I wouldn't be able to tell Swahili from Lingala, though.

But yeah, it can be done. Maybe a Linguistics check.

I was thinking similar. If you've been exposed to a number of languages through your life, either in classes or travel, then you might recognize one even if you don't speak it. I speak American English because I grew up with it. I speak a little Spanish because I studied it in school and have heard several different versions of it through life. And as a U.S. Marine for 20 years I've been in many different countries and have heard a dozen or more languages there, and trying to be polite I tried to learn at least a few words of them....

But I wouldn't recognize Swahili from Klingon..... Well, maybe I'd recognize Klingon!!!

Yeah, I'm agreeing with what you two said. Basically, if a character spoke a similar language, I'd probably allow a Linguistics check to see if they could recognize what language it is. I think that makes sense and stays within the spirit of the skill.

I realised just too late that there aren't squigs in Golarion, but well... Marcos is a Chronicler of Worlds, after all, and his specialty is knowledge from other planes xD
