With a bit of luck, however, more airlines will begin to offer full refunds, regardless of ticket class, if trips are canceled due to coronavirus. Yesterday, we received an email from Alaska Airlines stating that's what they're doing for trips booked within a certain period.
Did they up it to full refunds? When I bought the ticket through them they offered that within a year after cancelling the flight I could change the ticket to a different location, they did not have a full refund option. That option was still useful to me so I bought through them. It helped that they had the cheapest tickets.

I got the email for my trip to Gencon since I'm flying East with Alaska. In essence, if you bought after Feb 27th, you can cancel or change with no cost for travel date. Feb 28th, 2021.

I know the rule was that GM could select any of the boons on their sheet, unless explicitly called out as not available to the GM. I was wondering if this was still the case in 2e.

Dark Archive **

Cheers.

Dark Archive **

Just a quick question before I start doing the legwork to resolve this: Does Origins of the Open Road reward 1 XP or 4 XP for completion? I think the GM made a mistake on the sheet, writing 1 by reflex, but I'm not 100% since it's a special.

Top 5 in no particular order:

1. Lore Warden Fighter: The idea of an educated Fighter really appeals to me.
2. Blight Druid/Swarm Monger Druid: I like dirty, vile nature, and these druids back that up.
3. Fated Champion Skald-Sometimes it's nice just to feel like a destined hero.
4. Tortured Crusader Paladin-Grim Dark paladins...I can dig it.
5. Mystery Cultist-Not an archetype, but I really, really enjoy a divine caster who gains spell-like abilities in lieu of class abilities.

So, will subscribers be able to pick up at Gencon?

In reply:
So, they really didn't seem interested in boasting or trash-talking the other teams during their self nomination, but they definitely wanted to antagonize them in other ways, like ordering the Ashen Leaves girly drinks and the ilk. This continued into the campgrounds, and since they were going about the groups trying to intimidate them, I called for the perception check to notice them sneaking off into the woods. The investigator noticed and stealthed to hear the conversation. Rallying the party, they were going to confront the Ashen Leaves, when I called for a second perception check to notice the map in the firepit. The party marked the spot on their map before handing it over to the officials who told them about the ruins.

After the session, I asked them what they would have done if anyone had animal companions. They told me they would have hidden them in the woods.

After action report:
I ran this low tier for an investigator 1, paladin 1, oracle 1, and arcanist 3. We wrapped it up in about 3 hours. The slow reveal of their shock and horror when they realized what no gear meant was great. I did strip a familiar from the arcanist. The party killed all their rolls through, so they eliminated the ashen leaves and found the ruins cache while still making excellent time and scavenging materials. Without that, I think things would have been a lot worse. The worst fight was the caterpillars, having made short work of the pirates with a sleep spell and the juju zombie with a smite.

I feel like once players understand both the race rules and the pursuit mechanics, they will really take to them. Just be mindful of the limit of advantages they can earn.

True, I didn't think of that.

I'm going to be running this tonight and, having reflected on it, I'm going to be disallowing AC's and mounts unless they attempt to conceal them. A gunslinger would otherwise be denied their gun, so it seems fair enough that a mount or AC should also be disallowed even if it is vital to the build. Phantoms, familiars, and eidolons are a bit trickier, but I think the justification is you (usually) can't ride them and it is a foot race. If that isn't sound enough reasoning, they're intelligent enough to be considered members of the team.

Without clarification, I think this scenario is going to be an odd duck that doesn't see much play. The in-world rules are too nebulous and it severely gimps a lot of classes, more than the standard low CHA frontliner in a social scenario.

Dat Azata. I love the design, the colors, pretty much everything about it.

I am having trouble with the Facebook link myself. I'll let people know how it goes(as much to my ability); I never minded a little bit of exhibitionism.

My girlfriend and I love to read the Cheliax missions for that exact reason. They're just dripping with over the top innuendo.

Dark Archive

I always liked harvesting bits from powerful creatures for benefits. I homebrewed a ranger archetype for it.

Dark Archive

I can has skald info please?

Dark Archive

Hey, thanks for reaching out to me. Right now things are a bit in flux. My partner and I are closing on a house in Kent and my work schedule is kinda up in the air at the moment. Once things are settled on my end, I'll be able to determine if I can commit.

With that being said, if you want to meet up sometime to talk the hobby, lgbt issues, or really anything, I am more than happy to make arrangements to see my way up there to Queen Anne. I'm in temp housing in Capitol Hill for the rest of the month, and most of my days/evenings/nights are free.

Dark Archive

Been out of the loop for the past few days. Glad to see how far stretch goals have progressed.

Dark Archive

Woke up extremely hungover this morning. I've been drowning out my roommates' soon-to-be poly relationship if only can overcome disrespectful tendencies drama with cheap rum. I'm just glad I have an monogamous but open relationship.

Living in an unofficial trans family is weird. The expectation that everyone will look out for one another as if they are family tends to rub when the two compositional couples or even the four individual constituents have differing goals. What is good for the goose is not always good for the gander. I can respect that everyone is different and approaches relationships differently, but I don't like the idea of poaching partners and then having them included in our financial budgets. It's kinda odd to see different levels of trans disadvantage and how they all interact with one another in a microcosm, especially when I am the only non-trans individual. I recognize they all have their own societal struggles, and I will support them through all of that, but it is a bit grating when the trouble they bring into their own lives also affect me.

On a more positive note, first star finder society character is going to be gay. Most of my characters are Bi (with my Skald being pan) so this will be a nice change of pace. Still thinking about race and class. The possibilities are just so exciting.

Dark Archive **

I'm so excited to hear this confirmed.

That is troubling news if there has been an anti-trans attack in Seattle. I will have to let my roommates and partner know to be careful. Luckily, they tend not to go out without me and I will defend them or anyone appears to be subject to an anti-LGBT incident.

*hugs**grumbles something about morning*

Girlfriend is going to be home tonight. First time in over a month everyone will be together in one place. I expect a bit of tension in the next few days as a result of a lot of changes. Personally, I am a bit of an emotional wreck; I just feel overwhelmed and abandoned. The rainbow flags and crosswalk really don't do much for me. It is great to know there is community here, but it doesn't hold up to bonds formed under adversity. I just feel so alone.

Dark Archive

More like a suspicious bag check. They searched 2/3 bags, and my minis would have been right on top. I made a phone call to the TSA and the airline. I'm waiting on call backs. I mostly miss my Mystery Cultist of Arshea since he was a steel one and one of my most fun characters to play since he needs to achieve release with a partner or by himself once a day for class features.

Dark Archive

*hugs back* Such is life. I am making phone calls to see my options.

Dark Archive

Really dig the idea of the pain bearer.

Sadly, I think TSA lost some of my heroforge minis, so I might have to downgrade my pledge.

*hugs to all* After a week of non-stop running and working, I finally get a break. My girlfriend's best friend andcher partner arrive in Seattle today. I haven't seen them in a month, and I missed having them around, even if we sometimes butt heads. I might lose them to the local scene nearby, but I will be happy to see them express themselves till we leave for the suburbs and then I will turn into the worrier again.

If anyone is local to Seattle and is willing to meet up, I would appreciate a local contact...or even just a friendly face.

Dark Archive

Prehensile hair is a clever idea. :X I really like all the oracle material. Of course, the class has a lot of potential to be sexy as hell to begin with.

Dark Archive

Calistra is getting a lot, but Arshea is having a field day. If this book was PFS compatible, there would be so much retraining on my Mystery Cultist.

I get the ________ of love dislike, but I think the back story helps sell it to me. I tend to look at things from a neutral/evil perspective, but it really works from a good point of view.

Dark Archive

Back story helps. I think champion might be swapped out for defender or protector or maybe justicar and you could get a better vibe while still hitting the target.

Dark Archive

Given that judgement, I might call it the Heartbreaker. ;D

Dark Archive

Shhh... Don't ruin the moment.

Seriously though, it's a great concept for the class. It makes me think of an inquisitor from the Pathfinder Tales series. My only critique is the champion of love name; it seems more paladin than inquisitor.

Zelgadas Greyward wrote:

The Flagellation inquisition grants the inquisitor a whip made of pure divine energy to punish foes and heal allies.

The Champion of Love gives up ranged weaponry to gain proficiency with whip-like weapons. The champion of love also gains a new judgement that erodes her foe's ability to fight or resist her.

Guh....

I am likely going. Just need to scrape together funds for a badge. Luckily, lodging will be free.

Also, I love when I can tell the exact moment the straight guy packing our stuff finds our toy drawer from 2 rooms over. Poor guy. Might be scarred for life. At least he dug the Pathfinder art in the living room.

A character who certainly has no problems with sex- but who doesn't, on the face of her, play into the book's themes. I'll get more precise when I have more of a handle on what's going on, but in keeping with the promising stuff I'm hearing from the team in this thread, I want someone who can sort of demonstrate how this book could be used in a "vanilla" campaign...

Right. In a similar vein, I am working on a villainous iconic that can insert topics from this book into a campaign, but really comes alive the more you embrace it.

This thread is getting a little dry. Let's see if we can get the juices flowing.

Isn't this basically the premise for the Care Bears?

I thought the premise was having your clique use death glares....?

Anyway, I'm heading back to Cedar Rapids for the last time today to supervise my move. Seattle is an amazing, incredible city and I can't wait to explore the culture. I think the entirety of my crew will be able to express who they are how they want without the social pariahness that tends to crop up in the midwest. Cedar Rapids was a lovely city, but not for a pack of LGBT 20-something geeks.

Is it wrong that I was hoping that there was a BDSM-themed cavalier archetype where you could ride your partner into battle as if they were a mount?

My mind went to a similar theme, but less mount partner and more honor guard for their charge.

Also, I want to give a shout-out to Wolfgang Baur's Midgard Campaign Setting Kickstarter. Wolfgang is one of the folks who inspired me to add tiers to give freelancers opportunities. I backed many of his Open Design projects, and participated in many Kobold Press projects because of it. I love having helped build parts of Midgard. I'd like to expand some even further as a publisher. If his KS gets 2K backers, he'll open up Midgard to publishers and writers. That is an AMAZING opportunity for publishers like myself. I've offered up some free PDFs from the Bite Me! line to promote backer numbers. It will be announced soon. If you've missed out on those PDFs, you could get several of them for free by backing Midgard. It is a wonderful setting, so you won't be disappointed in the book. I adore it.

I wasn't planning on backing, but I do love Midgard and I would love to see what an open Midgard could produce.

I can't help you on that choice. :) It depends on what interests you the most.

You can always help us find 13 $1 backers, though, to open up Margherita's freebie! Jacob did a great job on drawing the witch's sex scene. He said the witch's bottom was one of his best-drawn butts. It's a damn sexy scene. :)

Always a fan of witch butt; feiya is in my top 5 hottest Iconics. Sadly, the people I know most likely to pledge also share my library.
