Hey everyone, I'm in the process of picking up my games again. I have already posted in a couple, and will be catching up here.

Status update: mom-in-law was released to rehab and has been doing well, though she is back in with pneumonia. Her mental condition seems to be deteriorating right now and they are struggling to find out why. We'll see how things progress from here.

Anyway, glad to be back. I should have a post up today or tomorrow depending on the events of today.

On a fun note, I got an Asus MeMO 8 tablet. Linky.

Status update: she successfully had angioplasty and a stint put in. They checked for a stroke and found no signs of such. She sleeps for the most part, though she is not recognizing anyone and is not very coherent.

The surgery being a success was most welcome, though there is still more yet to come. We still have to see if her body rejects or accepts said stint, which will come with time. That's about it for now.

Thanks! I realize I was absent for a bit, it just took me some time to get back into the swing of things. I'm not going to drop from this one as I have really wanted to play it for some time.

I am here to stay. :-)

"I have no problems with that. Should anyone become hurt I can heal light injuries."

During one of the times in which they stop to rest, Malthu approaches Lalaru with a meek demeanor.

"May I speak to you for a moment?" Malthu looks like he wants to talk alone.

Apologies for not having posted recently. I have not been feeling well. Having a very harsh headache, feels just about like a migraine, but I am not sure. I can't get myself in the mindset to play my characters when I am like that. It's a push just to be able to be at work. I'll get something in the morning when I settle in at work. I plan on quality sleep tonight so I'll be back in my groove soon. :-)

How does it clash? I am just curious as my brain is much today and am not able to think that far.

Chaotic Good is about freedom and happiness and Sarenrae is about kindness and helping.

Your pseudo slavery threat kinda flies in the face of all that.

It was intended to be a motivator. He will not follow up with that. Intimidate is supposed to be a useful skill, is it not?

I apologize if I stepped on any toes here. I will make Malthu back down from it since it causes so much pain.

"Fine." he says as he flings the manacles back at Lalaru.

Malthu looks over at Yani.

"We are in a situation that warrants us working together. This isn't personal, it's survival. When someone works against the rest of us it is more than hard, it's untenable. When our continued living is at stake I will do what is needed. If that means keeping this little girl in line who should have been helping, I will do it."

"She doesn't have to stay if she doesn't want to, but she will help if she does. I am not working to feed someone who doesn't earn their keep. It's only right."

Having obtained the manacles, he heads over to Sasha. He keeps the locks hidden for the moment.

"Sasha, a word. You have previously exhibited no inclination to help with our survival. That is unacceptable. You have a choice, help or be made prisonor in place of Jask. There will be no more of this whiney attitude, and you will help."

He takes a solitary step closer to emphasize his meaning.

"Am I clear?"

Malthu watches and listens to the others interact while he takes a breather. After about 10 minutes or so he gets up and moves over to Lalaru.

"Lalaru. I have a small favor to ask. May I borrow those manacles for a few minutes? I have a small task that needs taking care of before it becomes a problem." Malthu has a sly look on his face like he has something interesting planned.

Malthu works dilligently at setting up the camp. He notices when Sasha refuses to participate while feigning sickness. He'll deal with her when the time comes.

When everything is done, he sits down to take a breather.

"Well done!" he says to everyone that helped out.

Malthu observes Sasha being loud about something as the party approaches the beach-goers. Once the chest is brought over, he will go about gathering what supplies exist for shelter. Tents, rope, food, and the like for getting a camp ready.

"We should move in from the beach. The tide can be nasty when it comes in. Although not too far. Maybe a clearing exists that we can use."

Malthu says to the others. He waits for a response before doing anything else.

On a completely unrelated note, does anybody know how to quote more than one person in the same post other than manually copy-pasting (and losing all formatting)?

The way I have been doing PbP for a few years now is to the notepad++ for everything. Let me link you a screenshot of the file setup I have. I keep each character in its own folder. Within that folder I keep text files. Take a look.

Normally, I click on the reply button. In this case, I mouse button click on the reply and it opens a new tab for me to look at. I copy the quote into notepadd++ and trim it down if needed. I then continue this process for each person I wish to quote until I have my post done. Once completed, I copy and paste back into the forums and preview. Then I submit once I am satisfied.

And Voila! You have a post that was far easier to construct.

If I may, I believe I know the reason for it rendering the desktop version. Check out the following:

What are the minimum requirements?

Apple Devices: You can use either Mobile Safari or Google Chrome -- Chrome is the preferred browser. We do all of our testing under the latest version of iOS, so please make sure that your device is up-to-date to ensure the best experience. You must be running at least iOS 5.1 for it work at all, but iOS 6+ is strongly recommended. In addition, Roll20 will not run on the 1st-generation iPad, due to its limited memory. However, iPad 2 and any generation of the Retina iPads, as well as the iPad mini, are all compatible.

Android Devices: Chrome for Android (latest version) is the only browser we officially support on the Android platform. We do all of our testing for Android on a Nexus 7. There are too many Android devices available to test them all, but in theory anything with the horsepower of a Nexus 7 or better should work fine. NOTE: Do not use the "Request Desktop Version" checkbox!

Nook devices as well as Kindles (including the Kindle Fire) are not compatible, as they don't have access to the Chrome for Android app.

Relevent text in bold.

You may have to clear your cookies and/or cache for your browser and start over. If you select the checkbox you will get the problem detailed above.

Malthu take notice of the halfling and his approach to the human. She is quick to defend herself from the verbal attack, though, he steps in for other reasons.

"She's good. That is going to be useful when we need to talk our way out of something."

Drawing up to his full height, Malthu marches over and places himself between the two. Facing the halfling, he speaks.

"No. She has not committed any act against you. We are stranded here and need to stick together to survive. The more we act in everyone's best interest increases our chances we have to live."

"No fighting." he says sternly in his deep, almost inhuman voice.

I do enjoy Roll20 a lot. I currently have the supporter subscription. Dynamic lighting is most fun and useful!

I plan on running a game at some point, but it will be PbP with Roll20 maps. Getting a quality virtual game is harder and more complex than it needs to be.

Move action, standing.

Magnimar. The City of Monuments. And great monuments they are. Malthu spent some hours studying the ancient statues and what inspiration brought someone to make them. While he didn't really learn much about their history, they were still fascinating to look at.

At long last, a messenger finally came for him. the high priest had some artifact that needed escorting to Eleder. As he was sworn to the service of Sarenrae and her church, he accepted this sacred duty and made way for the ship he was to meet.

The Jenivere was in port and getting ready to make sail. He made his way to the ship and met with Captain Kovack for any crewing needs. Malthu knew that his passage was paid for by the clergy, but that didn't stop him from applying as a rigger. That looked like it something he would like to try his hand at. The Captain seemed pleased at his level of willingness to be part of the crew since not as many seemed to have his level of eagerness for such a role.

The Captain accepted Malthu and put him to work. A day after he boarded the Jenivere, she set sail on her long journey.

It was discovered that he learned quickly as he applied himself to the tasks of being a rigger. He kept busy with his duties, and had a watchful eye when he was on deck. One never knew when something would happen.

It was during the second week of the voyage when he was up in the rigging as he usually was.

"One can see for miles! I can see why some people don't like such open space. Many want to feel big, and when out in nature like this they feel small and insignificant."

Anyone who casually observes Malthu is able to easily determine that he is enjoying himself immensely.

He brought his attention back to the ship and the crew around him. No sense in getting caught unawares. As he scanned the ship someone caught his eye so he focused on them.

"Something's wrong with that rigger. He is swaying just a bit too much as he walks. What in blazes is he doing with that rope? That knot won't hold the main sail!"

"Confound it. Make way below!" Malthu calls out as he quickly makes his way down to the deck. He quickly moves over to the drunken sailor and pushes him out of the way while retying the failed knot.

When he is done he turns to the man. "You. Come with me!" he says as he grabs the man by the collar and forcefully pulls him to go see the Boatswain.

"Boatswain! This man is not fit for duty. I just caught him attempting to tie off one of the ropes on the main sail, and not very well at that. I already fixed his blunder. He reeks of alcohol and can hardly stand. I leave him in your hands."

Malthu returns to his duties and climbs up into the rigging once more.
