Question: How did the copper dragon get past approvals at paizo?
I get the misstep on whizkids part I guess, but how does a dragon with a wildly incorrect breath weapon get missed by paizo QA? lol

Thanks for the reply Yoshua. This confirms my fears. I'll go order elsewhere, I'm not paying a hundred dollars extra or more. I was happy to support paizo directly, EVEN when it cost a little bit more to do so. But they've made it impossible not to go elsewhere on battles at this point.

For context, dragon + case was $487.44 shipped for free. You're prices are not competitive and it's not close. :/

Nevermind, I see the price in the account management. I see you're not doing the case price discount, then 30% off anymore. After your insane shipping costs (which will be worse with this dragon's shape) I cannot order directly from you anymore. I'll be cancelling my subscription and order elsewhere til you stop pricing yourself out of competition.

Not sure, I’m in Leander Texas, which is a suburb of Austin, so not exactly in the middle of nowhere either. Are you sure you are going for the cheapest shipping? I seem to recall seeing a price around $100 for the second cheapest option when I ran the miniatures items through the checkout process to check shipping prices.
The price I got does seem to match up with Pigraven's.
Sadly, it's just that terrible.
Options are:
USPS priority for 87.89
UPS ground for 162.86
UPS second day air 348.82
UPS Next day air 531.47
Absolutely bonkers.

Mark, I'd like to express serious appreciation for your consideration to subscribers. I love that you're working hard to have these fully revealed before subs charge, and that you're trying to be considerate of international buyers too, since that's a big ask, but an important one for them. Bravo!

I also experienced the portcullis issue, and am also in texas!
I recommend boiling some water and put the portcullis in it for a bit, and then rebending it and ice bathing it to relock it. It should fix right up, i tested the material to see if it was too rigid and it felt pliable enough to do so.
I've not gotten to do so with mine yet either, but I'm fairly confident it'll work well.

Good to know they'll be some for sale later though, it's a nice enough model to get extras of!

I've really liked the dungeon dressing incentives. However, as much as I like them, it doesn't make up for the fact that they occupy a spot that is the only way I can currently get Hughes or gargantuan miniatures. So it's not worth it.
The opportunity cost is too high.

Brace yourself. There's a whole lot more Reclamation Troops coming. Four more sculpts, from what I've seen out on the Wizkids site. They're going to make an excellent warband, so I'm pretty excited for them. Maybe Mike will choose to spotlight them next blog?
I'd be okay with that, I love the warband thing. :)

Erik Mona wrote: One minor sour note on the set. I was expecting the cage to open, but somehow (probably for stability, I dunno), the cage doesn't open. So it's still a cool set piece, but you can't trap Small and Medium creatures in it like I intended, which is a bummer.
Fair warning!
No worries, nothing I can't fix with a hobby knife!
I suspect if I just cut off the bottom it can be placed over smaller models like a lot of gelatinous cube minis. Will need to be a really clean cut though.

Erik Mona wrote: Lorian wrote: That seems pretty thorough Erik.
I'd get the most use out of the Donkey laden with gear personally.
If you need more dressing type ideas, a campsite set might be good.
maybe 2 tents in a case, 1 camp fire (or two, I could see that being a 2 per case too)
I've been trying to convince WizKids to do a campsite for years.
And they are finally doing one, only for that "other" brand. Victory, I guess? ;)
Anyway, all that means is that we had to try even harder to make the next set's dressing-heavy case incentive even more impressive! :)
But I'm getting ahead of myself, as usual. :)
Not that it'd be super affordable, but I can't stomach that "other brand" minis line.
That paint jobs are atrocious from every since one I've seen. Shame, because I'd have loved to have some pixies but the ones they made are....not good. So I don't have much confidence in them to do a good job :/
I don't know if it's you single handedly vetoing bad sculpts/paint apps, but thanks for any part you play in keep the quality up. If the pathfinder line looked like the D&D line I'd have bailed out long, long ago.

Kor - Orc Scrollkeeper wrote: Lorian wrote: Getting real tired of the delays -.- It is unfortunate that we have these pauses, however given how many other things Erik is involved with, to some degree they are inevitable. Add into that mix convention season, and the pressures on his time are even greater. Erik is also the point person on the miniatures line, so it may not be a task he could really delegate.
Given that Paizo's competitor has no set schedule for reveals, and appears to give little value in building interest and excitement around the release of a new set, I'd say we are still getting a decent amount of reveals from Paizo.
Sorry, I should clarify. I understand the preview delays. What I do appreciate is the huge gap between sets. Honestly, forcing a 10 month gap between sets because another company has a mini set coming out is stupid. They've had a release more recently, if anything whiskidz should have pushed back THEIR set. Rusty Dragon came out in JANUARY. this big a gap is absurd.

Yes, please fey!
We could really use a set with a number of these and plant monsters at common.
Pixie, Nymph, Dryad, Leprechaun, etc.
Shambling Mound, Shrieker, Myconid, Assassin Vine etc
Bonus points for tie-in npc/PC minis and thematically friendly minis like Unicorn, Pegasus, druids, rangers, hunters, animals.
Pathfinder Battle: The Great Outdoors has a nice ring to it!

I suspect it's a plant, it's the only common creature type that's been totally left out.
I'm hoping for a Tendriculos.
Wait, no, it's huge.
Shambling Mound, Assassin Vine, Vegipygmy, Myceloid or a Shreiker would also all be greatly useful, and are in sizes we can do in PFB.

On an unrelated note, on the line in general. We've kind of hit an over saturation point of Goblins. I know that won't be a popular sentiment, but between the builder series, the heroes and monsters one, runelords and the new ones in Legends of Golarion, we're good for rank and file gobbos I think.
Don't get me wrong, unusual ones like the warchief still work, just hoping not to see too many more going forward taking valuable mini slots since there's been more than their fair share so far.

Yeah, I love having a bunch of minis, but 3 major releases a year is one thing, but 3 in 6 months is another matter entirely.

Yeah, while I like the added build sets and evolutions, only two months between base sets, twice in a row is just.... overrsaturation.

A friend offered to build a ship for me for the AP, I see someone built the Man's promise.
To avoid any extra spoilers since I'm not sure who's going to run the game in my group, is this a boat the PC's will end up keeping?
Or is there another boat that has a map drawn for it that would be better?
I know spoilers can't be totally avoided on this one but minimal is best, thanks!

Ahh, that may be the difference in mindset for me, I use bookshelves, so they're pretty stationary when not in use. That's a large difference.
I'd prefer softer plastic for that as well.

I'm considering changing a few things to bump the difficulty up a bit.
Justice Ironbriar seems like a pushover with split cleric and rogue levels and minimal flank buddies.
I'm thinking about switching his levels to inquisitor and giving him some extra cultists.
For Xanesha, the anniversary edition seems a little weak, though obviously the old version was a TPK machine. What would be some fitting mooks to add to soak some pc actions?
Maybe just some charmed npcs?
