Still just get the "personalizing" message, with zero delivery. Eventually the system logs me out, and I have to start all over.

Have yet to get a single download. The new hardware didn't have an effect from my perspective.

IS there any way to download multiple pdfs at once? I've attempted to personalize files about 5 times now, and although I go through the entire list to do so, when I return, they aren't personalized or downloadable. There has to be some way to not have to click on every single PDF in the list multiple times to get these files. If you bought the $25 package thats ALOT of files to go through, especially when things aren't working. Hell, I already owned about 1/2 or more of the products in the bundle already, and those aren't even being added to the list and its a pretty large list even then.

Is there some way to "gift" someone else with the PDF files you already own?

We beat it tonight, last blessing. The only reason we made it is by closing the locations by defeating the villain! Thanks for the tips!

Hawkmoon, good point on the villain, we have been defeating the villain, and then have been attempting to close locations. That will definitely help.

As far as with combat, we are using the blessing (amri has 4, I have 0), we have been using them solely for checks. Unfortunately, its often for barriers, and not for combat. Ezren rarely has trouble defeating foes, but amri seems to have luck issues (low die rolls).

One of the major challenges we have been having is a mixture of bad luck rolling on amri's part, and back luck with the locations of the henchmen/villains, which tend to show at the bottom of the location decks more often then not. I haven't really found a good way to shuffle cards when they have less than 20 or so cards. This is a constant thorn. I do shuffle through other means, but its nowhere near as reliable. I know people are saying flay the cards out and pick them back up in some random order, but man is that time consuming.

I will consider re-aligning our skill feats and see what kind of difference that makes. We have been focusing on the correct locations for the right skill set as you suggested. Ezren does the Goblin Fortress and the Nettlemaze and Amiri does the woods and the treacherous cave. It can get a little stressful in the fortress with the goblins being possibly boosted twice, but its been survivable so far.

Hey guys/gals,

I have been playing the adventure path with my son without much trouble, but with Approach to Thistletop we have been stymied.

Background:
We are playing one character each, Amiri for him, and Ezren for me. After 5 attempts so far hes getting a little frustrated and I haven't been able to come up with a good plan.

Character progression:
He has modified Amiri by adding +1 to dex skill checks, +1 to wisdom skill checks and increased his hand size to 5 cards.

I have modified Ezren by adding +1 to strength checks, +1 to wisdom checks, and increased my hand size to 7.

One of two things happen:
1) We run out of time, simply because we either can't close locations quickly, or we end up losing battles, without really progressing the closure status on the decks. We get close, but not really close enough to be able to tighten it up much, if any.

2) We lose battles making it likely that one of the characters is going to die. Since exploring is optional, this basically causes one character to decrease the timer without having a positive result. Healing potions haven't helped (when we've been lucky enough to find them). We have taken risks, and although neither of our characters has died, it really hasn't paid off.

We have been splitting the party up because it hasn't been too helpful to keep them together. Party members have been focusing on the areas which they are most qualified to close after exploring.

Right now, I think the mix of these two characters simply might be too un-matched to the scenario, and I am considering adding one or two more characters in the mix (for a total of two characters each). I'm not sure I really want to go this way, and I would really be bummed if we had to start with new chars.

Any advice on what might help us out?

Pretty good footwork, makes planning for entrenchments much easier, especially since in some cases, using magic to do the work would take significantly less time that using hirelings, especially in a high magic world.

I am trying to figure out what you would make Phase Door permanent for, however.

I'm in. Grab a flagon and your rations, time to move it in!

Will there be hillbilly Ogres? Tell me that there will be hillbilly Ogres.

Awesome! That would be a big bonus in my box.

Virgil's soda for the win!

I wonder if dry erase or wet erase markers would work on the case plastic without causing damage...if so, you could have a slide in spell sheet or your encounter list, or journal on the things. Pretty cool idea.

Every "kinder" player I have played with (thankfully not for decades now, whew) stole from the party and was a general PITA. I know its not the kinder concepts fault...but its like the paladin, it takes a special player to play them without someone wanting to abandon them to rot grubs.

James, I haven't read any of paizo's stories, and although I enjoy fantasy and scifi, don't have much time to read them anymore. However, if you could suggest the book you think that would be the proper introduction to your novel line, I will happily purchase and read it, and tell you where it takes me.

Running, swinging, gawking, crouching, biting so many more actions :D

I like the art, but why is everyone always leaping?

Its quite strange that I have yet to find and adequate method for errata perusal in the wild. Its always a tough bet. The best process I have seen so far was for Advanced Squad Leader, but thats because of the "3 ring binder" release setup.

The worst possible place is to post them on the forums here, as it is already very busy. I would be happy if it was its own entity with a link over in the "links" sidebar.

How about an official 3 ring binder for errata with tag pages for each book as a product :D

You can use TokenTool from RPTools to generate these very easily if you have a PDF version of the Bestiary. That is what I use when I make my creatures.

Yeah, I have done that. Sniptool to copy the image, tokentool to create a token. Its laborious though, and I'm lousy at it.

If one/a few qualified people did it, and then sold it, everyone wins! They could make them look good and functional :D

You know, I would love to buy a collection of digital counters that I could use for pathfinder in a maptool environment. I just want them clean, of appropriate size, and something I can add to maptool.

Can this actually ever happen?

Sure I could just take the art and make them myself, but I'm not artist or even a graphics manipulation person, so if I could get large collections I would rather just buy them :D

What say you of Paizo?

#3 is an elf riding something it found in his cabbage patch this morning.

Although this is neat, I think the pool should get deeper before it gets a larger surface area.

Elsi Isle

Blahahahah!

NO Screen? Wow, hep!

This isn't a shield for an up and coming goblin?

Hey bud, do me a favor and sign these while I go get lunch...

Now I want hash browns. Damn the bad luck.

This is a lurker above. Its stats, along with those for several other beasties, will be in Misfit Monsters Redeemed.

I thought the Lurker Above looked like a ceiling and dropped down with big ghosty eyes then looking like an enormous manta ray, until it hits its victim, at which point it looks like gleep and glorp from the Hurculoids.

The following recipe is easy and it's fancy for PB.

Alton Brown's Peanut Butter
Ingredients

* 15 ounces shelled and skinned
* 1 teaspoon kosher salt
* 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
* 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil

Directions

Place the peanuts, salt and honey into the bowl of a food processor. Process for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Place the lid back on and continue to process while slowly drizzling in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Place the peanut butter in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.

Roast the peanuts first or you will be subject to the wrath of yuckitash!

I cancel my AP subscription because I have so much stuff and then you are releasing this?

Curse you Paizo! My closets, cupboards, shelves, armoirs, tables, desks, stools, garage and my hands will never be clear of debris thanks to you.

Its tough enough to get through adventures of appropriate levels with the proper number of people without having these kinds of problems.

I have played with people who intentionally attempt to disrupt the game, and to this day I still don't understand it. They always state "Well, thats how my character would act." Sure, maybe it would be, but there would also be consequences to acting in that way, and to be honest, the character wouldn't be in a party very long unless he was irreplaceable. In D&D noone is irreplaceable.

This is a DM-Player issue. Even if its an "in game issue" it needs to be solved. If people are feeling slighted, or not having fun, its only a matter of time before they find something else to do. Unfortunately, players are often conflict avoidant.

I think you speak to the other players, and if they have the same problems, you speak to the DM about it. Then either you can talk to the player with the whole group, or have the DM discuss the problem with them one on one. It really depends on which model you feel will be better accepted.

I have had this problem many times in the past. "My barbarian despises magic, and kills all magic users on sight!" I tell the guy, GREAT NPC, he won't be a player character in my game. The same can be said with the guy who says "I'm going to pretend to be a cleric trying to help the party, but secretly I'm an assassin trying to kill them all!" Unless the DM really has some purpose in letting this kind of thing go on, sorry, NPC, and NO, you can't play the NPC.

The world is full of jerks, but you notice, they only hang out with other jerks, or with people that can't get away from them. You don't have to game with them in-game or out of game.

If your tentative players are like mine have been in the past, I would pass on them entirely. They simply can't be relied on whatsoever, and this means that you can't prepare for them properly.

I would set up the game for 1 player, and leave it that way. If they want to show up for a session you have set up for them, fine, but don't let them pick and choose the events they show up to. This way you can make sure they have the best opportunity to have a fun time and then could choose to be part of your permanent game.

What I would like is just to be able to just download the art by month or even better year, with an option to have it segmented by artist.

Most of the art (if not all of it) is useful, and going through the entire wiki and right clicking takes FOR EV ER.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

IF thats the mock up...

I am awaiting the amazement I will have with the actual cover.

What's more of a moral dilemma is if you let them find some valuable art object of a rival faith. For example, an altar cloth beautifully embroidered with the unholy symbols of Lamashtu. And rather than have it be loot, have it be something a completely neutral merchant has for sale.

How is this a moral dilemma? They are paladins, they would have to follow the social law and buy the thing at a reasonable price before destroying it. The moral dilemma is on the DM who thinks the party needs to part with the cash for it. I guess its better than destroying items so they have to rebuy/rebuild them. :D

1) I am interested in a "Modern" Pathfinder RPG because:

B) I am excited by the idea of a "Pathfinder" Modern RPG, regardless of mechanics.

Personally, I would love to see more sci-fi/modern (more sci-fi than modern) RPG options on the table with only a modicum of rules changes so that transference between the PFRPG (fantasy) and the PFRPG (sci-fi/modern) would be a snap.

I think we often see barriers in translating a group to a new genre is solely based on having to learn new rules. I have M&M and GURPS and some other sci-fi oriented campaign rulesets, but because of the rules changes, noone wants to bother to learn them.

EDIT: I probably should have mentioned that if it requires a rules change to make it right, do it. If the mechanics change a little, but the overall system is basically the same, it works for me. Thus my choice of B over A.

Bridge the gap Erik, and I think we have a winner.

Now, trying to get a whole set of pathfinder minis painted without it costing $1000 :D

There must be somewhere that people can show their work and wares so prospective buyers can buy them. Kind of like deviantart.com for minis painters.

I don't know what to make of it. It would be awesome to have minis associated with the product line but unpainted minis are just not very interesting.

My wife is a very capable painter, and takes commissions ;)

Besides...we could use the extra cash to buy the final rules pdf...

If you really mean it tell me what she charges and I'll try it out :D

Anyone using Pathfinder RPG rules in Maptool? I am relatively new to Maptool, but my group has decided to use it for our next campaign. They also have decided to use the Pathfinder RPG rules and explore "Crypt of the Everflame" with the pregens just so everyone can get exposed to the new rules.

I have done some research and I found http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5475 which has a DnD3.5/Pathfinder framework for it, but it looks like its not complete (CMD really is a placeholder), and I haven't even found a charsheet for the tool suite for Pathfinder characters yet. Sure, I can just try to wing it with some limited electronic assistance, but I really want to automate as much as I can.

Experiences?

Look again. It says 'this BONUS to your reach increases to 10 feet.'

The bonus being the amount added to your normal reach.

Yep. This is what I missed.

I'm confused by something. The "Long Limbs" class feature for aberrant sorcerers is unclear.

Long Limbs (Ex): At 3rd level, your reach increases by 5
feet whenever you are making a melee touch attack. This
ability does not otherwise increase your threatened
area. At 11th level, this bonus to your reach increases to
10 feet. At 17th level, this bonus to your reach increases
to 15 feet.

At 3rd level isn't it the case that most of the races will already have 10' reach? Is it that at 11th level they ALSO threaten that 10' (not just touch attacks)? Is it supposed to state at 11th reach increases BY 10 feet, and at 17th increases BY 15 feet?

Please feel free to alter this message if there is a problem with posting the class feature intact, but I believe its in the reference document.

Not that I don't mind the art used for these, but they are more cartoony than what I would usually want.

This simply rules. Thanks for making sure my game will be smoother by giving me good tools and thinking about layout.

What do the little icons to the left of forum members names stand for? (Edit, ah, pathfinder society).

I think if you sign up for the subscription your beastiary will be canceled automatically and rolled into the subscription.

Is there going to be a package for all the iconics in one package, or at least groupings of them? I would like to get them all, but prefer to just get one shipping charge if its possible.

I'm personally hoping that this makes it in sep or my october bill will be $200, even it out to $100 and $100 or so. I have to say, its awesome that you are offering PDFs as well. I wish I got better results pulling the map images into maptool though.

Sooner is better for sure.
