From the ashes of Thassilon, an ancient power shall rise again!

The ancient empire of the runelords may be long dead, yet the legacy of Thassilon continues to haunt the frontier realm of Varisia. With the rise of one runelord only narrowly thwarted, Korvosa reeling after the curse of the Crimson Throne nearly brought the city to its knees, and Riddleport rebuilding after a close call with a falling star, the people of Varisia fear that the greatest threat to their land has yet to play its hand. When agents of the newest Pathfinder Society lodge in Magnimar learn of a fragmented artifact scattered throughout the lands of old Thassilon, it falls to a new band of heroes to step in and gather up the seven fragments of this Shattered Star. For if the greatest prize of Thassilon's first ruler cannot save Varisia... what can?

Balancing time against the lives of the myriad trapped Starfinders, nominated First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo authorizes a dangerous mission to return to the fated region of space known as the Scoured Stars. The might of the resurgent Society is finally poised to breach the formerly impenetrable barrier surrounding the trinary system. The galaxy pauses to watch if a new generation of Starfinders can save those once lost. A mission of exploration and a mission of mercy, this return to the Scoured Stars will undoubtedly shape the future of the Starfinder Society.

Feel Free to discuss in Character.

Sitting in the Main Dining Hall of the Almas Pathfinder Lodge you each received a letter from Venture-Captain Brackett. He is yet off gallivanting about with research in regards to your current search regarding the Irrca Family.

The Letter reads

"Agents of the Society,
During the Goblinblood Wars, Rutillo Irrica, the last patriarch of the Irrica line, was killed by hobgoblin raiders while leading a convoy. The family patriarchs always carried a symbol of leadership, a cold iron mace. Isgeri historians interviewed survivors in the town of Umok. I was able to uncover information from Eagle Knight records that indicates the Eagle Knights scattered these hobgoblins but did not recover the family heirloom. There may also be additional reports and information from Eagle Knights who fought in the Goblinblood War stored in Umok’s archives. Travel to Umok, uncover anyone who communicated with the survivors, and verify any reports or information from the war to track down the hobgoblins’ base."

Venture-Captain Brackett

With your mission in hand you have been sent off to Umok.

You may recall or obtain information about the town of Umok.

Know. Local or Diplomacy DC10:
Umok is a gnome town along the northeast of the edge of the Chitterwood. The gnomes here often clash with local goblin tribes.

Know. Local or Diplomacy DC15:
In order to deter goblin attacks, the town has banned fire within 500 yards of the city. Magic light and alchemical stones replace the need for open flame.

Know. Local or Diplomacy DC20:
Local animals have been befriended or charmed to help defend the settlement. Though friendly to the gnomes, they fight fiercely to defend Umok and its inhabitants from hostile outsiders.

You arrive outside Umok without incident, despite the occasional signs of goblinoid activity en route. Approaching the city, You all notice that the town of Umok looks oddly proportioned. The buildings are squat, and the streets seem too narrow. The walls barely rise 6 feet high and appear too low for an effective defense. Bright colors abound throughout the town, adorning both the architecture and Umok’s citizens, giving the impression that a fleet of chromatic dragons must have battled in the skies above, raining multicolored scales down upon the city. Wild and domesticated animals wander the streets, seeming perfectly at home amid the bustle of the town.

The pathfinders attract attention as you enter the city of Umok, with animals taking up defensive postures and gnomes gawking at the travelers and whispering to their neighbors.

Before your team makes it more than a few yards into the city, a female gnome confidently approaches.

Armored and accompanied by an apparently tame badger, a fierce looking female gnome eyes your group intently. Finally, a smile cracks her face. “Welcome to Umok strangers. My name is Trigi Neppo, peacekeeper and goblin-watcher. Might I ask your business in town?”

Hello all and welcome to my Outpost I Table of Assault On The Kingdom Of The Impossible. This will be a Tier 1-2 Playthrough in Classic (regular) mode.

Following in the great footsteps of HMM our VC for Online PbP I want to get to know you and your character while also letting you know some of my expectations as well.
__________________________________________________________________

About me
The names Gary Pepper and I wanted to let you know a little about myself, I am an avid gamer, father of two and love to “learn it all”. I am still relatively new to the PbP GM gig but I feel with each game my style grows stronger. I’m the Venture Agent for my local area. Covering two stores and a contact for other home games in my area, which as you can guess means that I have to handle VA things as they arise. If I’m stuck in something I will let you know. :)
__________________________________________________________________

Some Expectations
I prefer games to flow at about 1 to 2 posts a day during the week and 1 to 2 over the weekend. I understand work, life, school and Venture Officer duties come up from time to time and like me posting while at work is a no-no. If that is the case for you if you could please try and check in before and after work if possible that would be great. We can find the right pacing as we go along.

I tend to post around 8 AM PST/PDT Mon-Fri and again at Noon PST/PDT. The weekends are wild for me so I get maybe a chance to post once or twice at random times.

Please let me know about any absences or crazy work days expected. If you're headed to a Con for a few days, that's okay, just let me know. I'll tell you about my crazy days too, for example Tuesdays are very busy between work and Society night so I may not post until way way late or possible the next morning.

Speaking of Cons I will be running a Con the last weekend of April. Not that I foresee us taking that long to finish this but thought I would still let you know.

I'm hoping that botting won't be needed, but I ask that everyone try to have a 'bot me' spoiler in their profile with key strategies and pre-formatted dice rolls. Happy GMs are safe GMs :p

I'm hopeful we will all have fun. I want enthusiasm, silliness, sound effects, team chemistry... If you want that too, I think we'll have a great game together that you can laugh about later in the future.

Do not think it’s crazy to have someone throw the halfling at the enemy hovering 20 feet in the air.

SFS 1-00: Claim to Salvation

Your mercenary group has recently received a holographic invite to talk with Luwazi Elsebo, the First Seeker Elect of the Starfinder Society. Speaking of an opportunity to make a few creds and possibly opening up opportunities for even more accolades.

You arrived to Absalom station early, and decided to procure some additional provisions, recharge your blaster batteries and explore the inner districts of the station.  It's great for slipping in with out notice as there's such a large mix of races that come to sell and reside in the station.

The ring segment known as Drifter's End is one of the most diverse and raucous parts of Absalom Station. The district caters to alien ambassadors from newly discovered worlds, explorers, long-haul cargo crews, and spacefaring vagabonds of all sorts. Housing is cheap and temporary, bars are noisy and full of stories, and patrons looking to hire experienced scouts and first-contact specialists clog notorious “Drifter” hangouts such as the Hard Burn, Kristoff's, and the Last Good Run.

Here is where you come across a peculiar sight.  Unlike all the other shops and bars along the path you see a sign that is of carved wood looking as if it was gently and caringly taken from the prow of a sailing ship of old.  Scralled across it you see the name "Maiden's Redoubt". The sign hangs over the door of a bar it stands across from the Starfinder Society's soaring Lorespire Complex.

Upon entry you notice it is neatly decorated to look like the galley of a sailing ship.  Old wood and what you guess are replicas of nautical tools adorn the walls.  The place is empty however save for a sole person behind the large bar. Seeing you enter the man immediately perks up and heads your way "Greetings!!! Welcome to me fine establishment here.  The names Captain Garren Sundale the VIII. Pleasure ta make ur' acquaintance's." making a gracious bow pulling the very old tricorn hat from his head sweeping low.  Pulling back up affixing the hat once again to his head he continues "Please take a seat. First round is on me if ye be willing to tell a tale or two. 'Biggs!!!!' Fetch a tray o' 6 o' the good stuffs for me friends here." a little combat drone falls of the bar comically scrabbling into the back returning with a tray of what appears to be a well aged mead placing a pint in front of everyone then hurtles back to his charging port on the wall. "What brings ya in ta day?"

It has begun!!! Feel free to introduce yourself in character.

Hi everybody I will be running the new Starfinder Special, Claim to Salvation, here on the Paizo Boards on August 25th, 2017.

Description of the Adventure:

** 4th level characters provided.** A Starfinder Society Scenario Special designed for 4th-level pregenerated characters.

Following the disastrous Scoured Stars Incident, the Starfinder Society fights to remain relevant as the rest of the galaxy moves on. With surviving agents stretched to the limit, the First Seeker launches a desperate bid to search the false moon of Salvation’s End. Will the mission reveal a discovery that can stabilize the Society long enough for a new generation of Starfinders to come to the fore? To answer this question, the players play as 4th-level versions of the Starfinder iconic characters in the debut special event of the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild. Written by Larry Wilhelm.

Grand Lodge

As I am eagerly awaiting this amazing weekend of fun coming up; I wanted to see if there are any who are still in need of hotel stay. I have booked a double queen bed hotel room and will only be needing the one bed, although an awesome fort could be made... never mind on that.

Is anyone interested in possibly splitting the cost of the hotel stay?

I have booked for 4 nights from Thursday night with a check out on Monday.

Those interested please be non-smoking as the smell messes with me.

Direct message me or post here if interested.

I have been toying around with an idea since I read an article a while back about someone running games during a split shift break for himself and his coworkers/buddies. I'm trying to hash out something similar for my work friends and I.

What I am getting too is what pros and cons might you see ahead for this?

What scenarios might you suggest that could easily split in to "episodes"?

Specifics
gotta have those

Run time: 1 hour a day
# of players: 3 to 4 Max
Location: lunchroom/corner table or outside eating area

Thanks in advanced

Edited: I did think of using the scenario quest line like Honor's Echo

Grand Lodge 2/5 5/5 Venture-Lieutenant, California—North Coast

First Time posting a message and I'm sorry if I am asking something that has already been asked but what I am wanting to know when am i allowed to GM a Scenario? Is it the "street" eg. 08-01 Portents Peril on August 4th? or can I begin running the scenario as soon as it has showen in my downloads.

If you could please direct me to the original post if this is a repeat.

Thank you all for your help.

New GM in the making :)

Edited:
I think i may ask some more questions as they come up but in my local town PFS has not picked up much and I have only enough to make one table at a time so far.

Can I run a multi table even (The Cosmic Captive) as a single table? or must I have or more tables of players to run it?
