Team season 4 assemble!!! We never came up with a name did we?

Alright, here's what I'm seeing: You opened a door marked in red to reveal an empty room. You heard the sound of animals from behind the door marked in green, and are ready to open that door. Also, Ekkie ran off when you released her upon arrival at the entrance to this hideout. Does that sound right? We have a new maps deck, copied from the old one and cleaned up a bit. Gary was kind enough to link it at the top of the page, and I have linked it (as RotGG) in my tagline to make it easy to find. Anything else you want to do (or anything else I should know) before opening the door?

![]() |

All seems good to me.
Ebert, gripping his Longsword in hand, holds steady ready to defend his allies. Slowly motioning to the room with the baying Ebert whispers "Let us be prepared for what may come at us."

![]() |

Juis has his sword in his right hand, ready to assist and his wand in his left hand if he needs to heal anyone.

![]() |

Marianna slips to the other side of the door, and readies to attack the beasts within with her blade.

![]() |

Throwing open the door, you are struck by the odor of feces, urine, and unwashed animal fur. Gnawed bones, rotting chunks of meat, and filthy piles of rags litter the room. Inside, two dirty, mangy, and very hungry-looking creatures intensify their growl. They look somewhere between dogs and rodents, though one of them (green) looks bigger and tougher than the other.

Question for both, do that have a toxic (disease/poison) bite?

You have no available targets for daze, which can only target "one humanoid creature of 4 HD or less". Would you like to do something else?

![]() |

Marianna drops her blade into a waiting position, expecting the beasts to charge out. It's better to let them emerge to where more people can attack, then to jam up the doorway.
Standard action - Ready(attack the first target to leave the room)

With the hallway crowded with allies, Duncan takes a chance moving into the room as he draws his longsword. He attacks the orange rodent-thing, driving his blade deeply into it.

![]() |

No diagonal through the doorway, I'm afraid, but neither of them has acted, so no AoOs.
Duncan moves quickly into the room, striking with great precision at the smaller of the two creatures. His blow strikes deep, felling the creature with one hit! Crit confirmed vs. flat-footed.
Aconite follows, savagely biting the larger of the creatures. His jaws do significant damage, but they also come into contact with the rank dander covering this foul creature. Fort save for Aconite, please.
The green creature EDIT:yelps in pain, then turns and desperately tries to defend itself. remembers that it got hit by a javelin a moment ago and falls over, unconscious!

@Juis: Yes. It's the same effect whether it bites you, or whether you hit it with a natural attack/unarmed strike/grapple it/etc. It's a temporary disease effect that causes you to break out in an itching rash.
Out of combat! I still need one Fort save from Aconite, but the creature never got the chance to savage him in return.

![]() |

Did his javelin hit?
Yes it did! Sorry, I had missed that.

![]() |

Looking around in this chamber, you find little of interest. No more immediate threats. Anything you want to do before going around the next corner?

![]() |

Ebert, dumbfounded with the sheer speed within which his allies have taken the Goblin Dogs down he, will cautiously move up to the next corridor and look around down the hallway.
Sadly no Special vision capabilities.

![]() |

Juis looks down at the goblin dogs and speaks up, "These were actually giant rats bread by goblins."
With that bit of knowledge spread, he turns to Aconite and cast a healing spell.
Juis then joins the others, exploring the rest of the place.

Two rows of pillars support the arched roof of this long hall. At one end stands a makeshift throne constructed from the broken remains of a smashed statue and other cracked blocks of masonry. As you round the corner, a rough female voice rings out. ”Quit skulking about back there, intruders, and come in.” You see a large (medium sized), female goblinoid standing in front of a throne, and two smaller goblins skulking behind the pillars beside it.
As you enter the room, she says ”Alright, that’s far enough for now. Send an envoy forward to parlay, and we can discuss what it is you want. I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement. The rest of you, stay behind the first row of pillars, please.”

![]() |

Duncan recognizes the big humanoid. "It's a bugbear. They're a lot tougher than goblins." Knowing he's not the one to parley with anyone, Duncan steps back, his bow at the ready and raises an eyebrow at the rest of the group. "Who's it gonna be?"
Know Local DC 12: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Not sure who the face needs to be? Marianna?

![]() |

After a couple moments of debate, Marianna steps forward. She stops a reasonable distance back, distrustful of the bugbear, and gives her a serious look. "We are here to protect our own. You sent thieves to rob from our leaders. This action is uncalled for and we will have it never occur again. You would do well to not have the Society as an enemy. "
She waits, half-expecting her demands to be scoffed at.

![]() |

"Well, you know, we're all trying to get by in this world. Still, I am sorry if I've inconvenienced you. Everyone knows of the society, and I certainly wouldn't want you as an enemy. If I've taken something of yours, you're welcome to it. I have a pile of trinkets by the throne here, are any of them yours? You're welcome to come look through them."

![]() |

Juis whispers, "Too easy. It must be some type of trap."
He stays behind the first pillar moves to see if others are hidden behind the southern pillars.

![]() |

When Aconite bit into the goblin dog, his skin began to break out into a painful, itchy rash, particularly near his mouth. The rash was unsightly and persistently itchy, imposing a -2 penalty on dexterity and charisma. It disappeared, however, the moment Juis cast his healing spell. No lingering effects.

![]() |

That was too easy, Marianna repeats in her head. Before moving forward, she quickly scans the floor in front of her, as well as the apparent leader's demeanor.

Duncan watches the interplay without comment. It seems that goblins are either afraid of the group or playing a trick of some kind. The bounty hunter keeps his eyes open for a trap, still ready with his bow at the ready.

![]() |

Marianna suspects that the woman is not being honest with her. That suspicion proves wise when, as Marianna advances, she spots a cunningly hidden trap 10ft in front of the woman. When Marianna stops, the woman snarls and say "Fine, you're no fun! Get 'em, boys!"

go ahead with Duncan's post. He will fire at Red if it leaves the cover of the pillar. If not, the shot will be at the Bugbear queen.
An arrow already in hand, Duncan reacts quickly nocking the arrow while studying his target. Once he feels satisfied, he looses the arrow, sending it speeding on its way.

Aconite's shaken condition makes him tentative, causing him to pull up just short of connecting with Inoklar. Don't forget to subtract 2 from your attacks, saves, and skill checks while shaken. The -2 is enough to make you miss in this case.
Nylthe returns Inoklar's demoralization, causing the bugbear to taste her own medicine! She then casts a spell, further disrupting the goblinoid.
