Welcome everyone to my table to PFS 0-04 The Frozen Fingers of Midnight. As most of you know this is a Scenario that was requested by the amazing GM Lorenzo aka Larry aka Larry Smith VC of Washington-South west and I hope this will be a fun game. Let me know if any of you have any questions at all.

I plan to do the Kick off post on Jan. 2nd, 2018. Please feel free to do any idle in character Chit Chat is the Game play thread once it is available.

About me
Hello The names Gary Pepper and I wanted to let you know a little about myself, I am an avid gamer, father of two and love to “learn it all”. I am still relatively new to the PbP GM gig but I feel with each game my style grows stronger. I’m the Venture Agent for my local area. Covering two stores and a contact for other home games in my area, which as you can guess means that I have to handle VA things as they arise. If I’m stuck in something I will let you know. :)

Some Expectations

I prefer games to flow at about 1 to 2 posts a day during the week and 1 to 2 over the weekend. I understand work, life, school and Venture Officer duties come up from time to time and like me posting while at work is a no-no. If that is the case for you if you could please try and check in before and after work if possible that would be great. We can find the right pacing as we go along.

I tend to post around 8 AM PST/PDT Mon-Fri and again at Noon PST/PDT. The weekends are wild for me so I get maybe a chance to post once or twice at random times.

Please let me know about any absences or crazy work days expected. If you're headed to a Con for a few days, that's okay, just let me know. I'll tell you about my crazy days too, for example Tuesdays are very busy between work and Society night so I may not post until way way late or possible the next morning.

I'm hoping that botting won't be needed, but I ask that everyone try to have a 'bot me' spoiler in their profile with key strategies and pre-formatted dice rolls. Happy GMs are safe GMs :p

I'm hopeful we will all have fun. I want enthusiasm, silliness, sound effects, team chemistry... If you want that too, I think we'll have a great game together that you can laugh about later in the future.

Don't think it’s crazy to have someone throw the halfling monk at the enemy hovering 20 feet in the air.

In general I can post at least 1/day (often more).
I am in West Euro' timezone, meaning that when you "post around 8 AM and again at Noon PST/PDT" it is 5pm and 9pm for me.

I will be running our National Convention on Jan' 26 to 28, so might be a bit busy at that time (should be able to get 1 post / day out, hopefully).

Full plate and heavy shield, a filled backpack with a couple coils of rope and a grappling hook attached to it, and a pair of bandoliers with vials jammed into them, the half-orc (a Sandkin, from the desert) plods along with all his gear.
Just under 7' tall, and over 200 pounds, he is a towering figure, with bulging muscles, and two scorpion whips at his belt - long strips of black leather with scorpion stingers braided into them.

You see that his shield is painted with a large red scorpion, and he has a red scorpion tattooed in the middle of his face, as well as a Holy Symbol of a red scorpion, dangling around his neck.
His spell component pouch is decorated with a... red scorpion.
"Ptehp be a follower of Selket, the Mistress of dah Beautiful House. Selket tell me do this. So I do that. Hullo."

Seated at his favorite nook near the large hearth in the Grog Pit, a swarthy young Varisian bravo with dark hair and twinkling green eyes winks at a passing waitress, "Gitano Frallino, m'lady. Pleased to make your acquaintance. My rapier, my wit and my song are yours, if only you'll bring me a chilled glass of Kyonin absinthe."

With an eager, encouraging grin and a gentle tug on his soul patch, Gitano says, "You're welcome to join me at the end of your shift." His eyebrows dance at the double entendre.

As she flounces away in a swirl of skirts, Gitano calls after her. "Oh, if you happen to see a gentleman named Poblano Pepper, please send him my way. He has a mission for me."

He turns to the small crowd gathered round him. "My friends, let me tell you the tale of 'The Darkest Vengeance.' When a newly opened Ustalav Pathfinder Lodge went silent, it was up to your intrepid hero Gitano Frallino to investigate and report back to the Society as to the source of the disappearance. The mystery deepened when I arrived and found the house silent but infiltrated by an old threat now in control of one of Ustalav's most powerful artifacts... "

Sounds ok with me as long as the rest of the group is good with that.

I had planned for 5 players as well my other prospect is available with a lvl 5 UC Monk.

I know the Season 0 Scenarios were setup for 4 players but I feel 5 is a nice even number ;)

This should be my 2nd to last game! Since Ptehp is pure Scarab Sage I plan to have him go into Bonekeep, and probably croak there... instead of retiring.

And that is how my Warpriest are as well, either falling so another wont or teaching others to protect their wards.

Redelia what were you planning to use? Also I have been in contact with your recommended player she is interested.

That brings me to my next piece of information She does not have any characters in the 4-5 range but is wishing to bring a Level 1 to the party. I fully understand this when it comes to long term play like PbP staying connected to a character you didn't have your hands in crafting can feel like a disconnect.

I hope you all agree with me allowing her to play, her level 1 character brings the current APL down to a 3.8 from a 4.5 which is still legal 4-5 tier table.

Both games using my level 3 characters are taking longer than expected, so I will not have any in-tier characters available. I could bring my level 2 investigator, or else a level 4 pregen. The two pregens I most have developed a character in my head for (so they are almost like playing my own character) are Enora the arcanist or Seltyiel the magus. I also like Lem the bard.

I can take a lower level character to better fit if you wish.

As of right now we have a lvl 5 Warpriest (Eric), lvl 5 monk(Ietsuna), lvl 4 swashbuckler/Bard/Investigator (GM Lorenzo), lvl 2 Investigator (Redelia) and you Character Kalindlara. Looking like it's your choice on characters.

If bloodragers work like paladins and rangers in regards to wands (which I assume is what you plan to use), then the character I'm currently leaning towards should be able to help. I have another character who would be preparing it anyway - and who I wouldn't mind playing either - if you're doing the pearl of power thing.

In either case, I'll have Diplomacy more than covered as well. This is true for most of my characters. ^_^

If you bring your bloodrager, Kalindlara, I think I'll bring the level 4 Enora. She's a lot of fun, and I do have enough of a mental picture of her that she's almost like my own character.

Kalindlara, if you look at our profiles, we have a bunch of stuff jammed into the race, gender, and classes lines because those are shown under your name, and it's very helpful to the GM to provide stuff like AC, saves, and perception in that location.

I don't really like it. (Which I know is weird. Don't mind me, I'm just like that sometimes.)

I know it's helpful to you, though, so I'll try to work on it.

I have strong opinions about 'little' stuff like that too, sometimes. I left a game once partly because a GM required that we use his specific format for the header, and he tried to jam an entire character sheet into it. It really bugs me if the header has spoilers in it or is longer than a single line. Luckily, that single line easily hold everything that GMs seem to find really important.

I understand where you're coming from and yeah it's a lot of information.

Just to make sure you know I am not requiring you to use the template just asking if you could put a few things on the header. Like Redelia says AC, HP, saves are some of the basic things I ask. Instead of having to click through profile I can just quick glance when posting.

If you don't mind sharing it, I'd like to use it as a suggested/sample template for players in games I GM in the future. It's a lot better than the one I've offered in the past, not too much, not too little, and not too heavy on the spoiler tags.

It's also convenient to have a sample tagline and a sample character sheet template already pre-formatted and in one document. That should help new players a lot. A GM and player can tweak it as needed.

If I were going to add anything, it would be tracked resources, especially as they relate to class abilities, expensive expendables, etc.

It was very eye-opening during PbP Gameday VI to peek at some of the sessions and see how vastly tastes differ from GM to GM, and player to player.

Kalindlara feel free to ask any questions you have in here or OOC chat in the Gameplay thread. No permisson is required when rolling skill checks and some others. and its good to roll both your Attack and Damage dice in the same post. For example
