Everyone welcome to the official Skull & Shackles recruitment thread. Unfortunately, the recruitment happened in a different thread. This one is here so I can get the people I've chosen together to discuss things. There should be six of you here in this thread, but I have one more person to introduce. The username Hayato Ken will be here as Pai Song, a sylph crossblooded, wildblooded sorcerer. Now go ahead and introduce yourselves.
This is the third attempt on trying to do a Skull & Shackles campaign. We've had 2 DMs run the campaign and we were in the first AP before they bounced. I'm hoping that the third time would be the charm. I've talk with the other players and here's who we have that is willing to continue: Seadreamer Stonebeard Dwarf Ranger Madame Ming Kitsune Rogue Terry of Quent Half-Elf Rogue Destinie Nicholae Human Oracle We will probably need 1-2 more players to complete the set, but that can be left for you, as will whether you want to continue where we left off, start from the beginning or continue from a different point. The casting call is officially open.
Hey you people. We are in search for a new GM for our Skull and Shackles campaign. We had one who ended up doing double duty for another campaign that stalled, but he too got done in by RL. We have three people willing to continue, one who is said will return by the end of the month and another who hasn't been in touch for over a month. We hope that someone will be able to continue the campaign for us. We have only gotten to the first Day of the first section so it should be hard to continue.
I had always been interested in the nature of clergy within Golarion. I wanted to see whether head priests in a local church could be someone other than a cleric. Oracles can apply for any religion, though they may never know their true patron. Iomadae Seems like the clergy would usually defer rank to clerics, though paladins, inquisitors and warpriests may take over Torag Same as above, though there could be an argument for a fighter take that role Erastil I can see rangers and hunters having a high priest rank if a cleric isn't available. Sarenrae She doesn't seem to mind anyone taking that role as long as said person follows her beliefs. Shelyn Definitely see bards having equal say as they are most associated with love and the arts. Cayden Cailean Probably the god with the least regard with anyone taking the high priest role... so as long they adhere to his teachings. Desna This one's difficult. She doesn't have much of a hierarchy due to the nomadic nature of her followers. Abadar Most likely to only have clerics as the high priest role. Maybe an inquisitor, but that's it. Irori Monks have an equal chance as clerics, perhaps brawlers and unarmed fighters as well. Pharasma I can definitely see inquisitors and good necromancers getting high ranks within the clergy Gozreh Druids and Hunters definitely get as much say here as clerics Nethys Basically any arcane caster can get high ranks, though wizards, witches and arcanist would receive the lion share of that. Calistria Interestingly, rank here depends on their persuasion skills, so theoretically anyone could achieve this, though rogues, bards and sorcerers would have the greatest advantage Gorum This seems to be based on physical prowess, so any martial class can qualify Asmodeus, like Abadar, the clergy would likely defer to clerics Zon-Kuthon Clerics probably have high priority here, but I can see anyone adept in torture getting a role here Urgathoa Necromancers, witches and inquisitors would probably get as high a ranking here Norgorber Rouges, alchemists and slayers seemed apt for this role. Lamashtu I'm not sure here in this case. Rovagug Can definitely see fighters, barbarians and bloodrager take up that role
If Legacy of Fire were to get an anniversary edition, one of the things I hope the people at Pathfinder do is to incorporate geniekin into the region. Haleen is an excellent way to start. Her stats fit nicely into a Dervish of Dawn style and her personality fit that of a typical Ifrit. Her stats on her own would give her 18 Dex, but a pitiful 6 WIS. I switched the points distribution from CHA to WIS to compensate, giving her the same stats as her updated form. CR wise, there's only one issue with her. As an ifrit, she won't get an extra feat at 1st level. Bumping her up to 5th level to match Pathfinder standards cover her feats, but she would still need Dervish Dance to use a scimitar. With that, I got rid of Weapon Specialization to compensate. Lastly, I gave her Desert Mirage as she won't put Fire Affinity to use as a fighter. Haleen CR 4 XP 800 Female ifrit fighter (Dervish of Dawn) 5 CN Medium outsider (native) Init +4; Senses: darkvision 60ft.; Perception -1 DEFENSES AC 21, touch 15, flat-footed 16 (+4 armor, +4 Dex, +1 dodge, +2 shield)

While I think Strange Aeons is one of the better Adventure Paths for Pathfinder, there was one thing I was annoyed with. While most guides are rather detailed with important NPCs, the backstory of Winter was never revealed other than being chosen for her mission. With that said, I thought of how such a story would go and has written it as such: Like most changelings, Winter never knew what her father looked like other than the fact that he was likely Cheliaxian with black hair. Either way, she suspects that he did not survive the encounter with the hag that gave birth to her. Eager to make sure the future child would turn to her in "the call", the hag placed her in a notorious tavern which she would resent living in. Yet fate would have other plans. A Pharasman priestess oversaw the event and came by to observe the baby as soon as the owner left. Recognizing it as a changeling, she sought to change the baby's fate for the better by sending the child to the Maiden's Choir.
In combat Winter strives to preserve her spells as much as possible, staying back to heal others when they are low at health, only buffing when there is a great need for it. If in combat, she brings out her dagger, only bringing out her gloves at the last minute. She casts sanctuary and flees if reduced to 7 hps, but if survivors are threatened or when she is better acquainted with the PCs she fights to the death. I hope you like the back story. I would love to see what other backstories you have for the character. |
