Hi all! We won't get started until after Gen Con, but this space is here if you want to talk about characters. You will all make 5th level characters for this game. You get a lump sum of 270 gp to buy your equipment. You cannot be a human. Any other ancestry that has been published so far is on the table, including the new ones from APG. If you want another uncommon character option, let me know. The story begins in the city of Kibwe, where you have come to buy rare darkwood (perhaps for a weapon or perhaps for art). I'll let you decide whether you all know each other, or if you just all happen to be in the same shop right now.

About Elneth KyrollBackground:
Elneth was born to a wealthy Taldan mother and when he was born he was the subject of gossip for all the lower level nobility. The only thing which seemed to save Elneth from the life of one of those wretched half-elf outcasts was that his father actually acknowledged his existence a couple of times. Occasionally while his mother was alive, father would visit, though in the end both of his parents knew they were just saving face. Elneth had access to all the advantages of being born into money: education, good food, and not having to work as hard as the rest of those poor saps. Eventually he was apprenticed to a wizard. That way he could take up the craft of his dear father who would visit once every 7 years or so. Elneth became a respectable student, but he didn't seem too keen on going out into the real world. Some wizards would travel the world and promote their agendas, but he didn't see the appeal of that. That sounded hard. Elneth was eventually passed on from relative to relative. He continued to eat fine food, and continue his study of wizardry in the most laid back manner possible. He took to the field of Elemental Magic, specializing in water. He focused almost exclusively on theory, and rarely actually applied his powers. Though one time a rat startled him and he fired a blast of arcane energy at the thing. Besides that he never really did much actual work. Eventually, he was sent to live with his human nephew in Heldren. By this point, the family saw Elneth as an almost half-century old waste of money. They demanded he actually do something with himself. Elneth groaned, but then heard about the little weather pattern problem they had in the woods. From what his second cousin told him, he could show up, use his vast knowledge he had to solve the problem, and everyone would love him. He just had to find the group who was dealing with that problem, but that doesn't sound too hard right? Right? Description:
Elneth has white hair, pale skin and pointed ears, just like his father, but his build and manner of dress are much more akin to a wealthy Taldan man. The young man is of average height and build and nearly always looks extremely neat. He looks young and acts young too, even by the standards of his race. Elneth likes to dress in heavier clothing as he works in the field of water and ice magic and sometimes it gets quite cold in his laboratory. Despite his cushy upbringing, he adores cold things, he likes chilled food, cold drinks, and the way snow sometimes looks on trees. He shows this adoration in everything from conversation to his style of dress. Stats:
