Back, dealing with bears is annoying. But this time around my properties are going to be safer and a much better setup. Especially because a lot of my tenants have kids. :/ So yeah, bears and kids nope, no sir, not gonna let something bad happen. Money? feh, throws a truck at it. Get it done. Don't care, cost is pointless. DO it. Fast, now and safely.
There's a reason most of my tenants have been with me 10+ years. Because I don't mess around when it comes to them. I will spend my money, not raise rent and get s%!@ done. Period, Period, forever. Because at the end of the day/month/year(!) they pay the bills, they matter more then my bottom line, without them I'd be poor. SO yeah, money? Not a problem and it makes them all feel better.
That's about how my month has been. Working with an engineer, wildlife expert, city coordinator, trained animal control specialists (to knock out and relocate bears) and all of the above to make things legit, legal, paid for and no one can complain later. Should be back on track for regular posting.
She wakes with a start, part of her arm transforming as all her pent up frustration transformed part of her. To which she stared in shock before it reverted back to normal. Which left her really peeved off. She looked at Horsie mouthing at her in a rather unkind manner before realizing she couldn't speak.
Seeing them standing there she gave a soundless growl. What the HELL is going on now. She mouthed at them both wordlessly. She took stock and found their stupid silent elf man was nowhere to be seen.
Better have a good reason or I'm gonna KILL him! She mouthed it with enough force to shake stone, yet... Still no sound. She draws her sword then, noiselessly.
She didn't like being woke up early, nor did she like being deceived. He had much to answer for, by abandoning them here.
I'm still here, was waiting on Julina and apparently was undotted from all of my games. Like wth. But let me know if we want to continue. I'm game and have been trying to get my new class entered into herolab with limited no success. Apparently I am not a programmer, at all. -.-
If we are ending it then it has been a great, great time! I really loved your DMing style Rednal. :) But I really hope we don't end it.
As the Silverblood changed beneath her she too relaxed her guard, pulling away her massive hand and settling back down into her former position. "Not that that is settled, lets discuss how you will serve me."
She wasn't about to give an inch on such a useful subordinate. Silverbloods were very rare and surprisingly meek for their kind. Perhaps it came from how they were born or because they were a rather isolated lot. Either way she wouldn't lack from attention, so long as she didn't betray her new leaders trust. "If you never lie to me, I'll never hurt you. If you do as I ask I will reward you. My title is one bestowed on me by cowards, from now on you will call me by my name. Aslan, not mountain lord, not liege, leader and especially not Outcast. While I am away it will be your duty to defend this mountain. If you fail at that I will be displeased."
She doesn't let the thought of a threat sink in before adding. "If something occurs here you are to report it to me by any means you can. If any type of news that concerns my group comes across your snout you will send it to me post haste, not the next day, within the hour. Succeed and I will reward you greatly. Do you agree?" She left the question somewhat open ended as she hadn't gotten her name yet.
The bathes - Anyone following Tidus can read this, Aslan is anything but quiet:
Aslan was a giant among mice in the room, having to nearly duck down when she entered. When the decanter started to spray like a waterfall, she stepped into it and ran her hands through her blood filled hair. She had little regard for those assisting her, as she deserved the treatment by ensuring their lands were safe again. Especially now that they were back under her rightful control.
The woman's probing questions along with her piercing stare vexed her greatly. She ignored her once she was cleaned off, instead stepping into the main bath and taking up a large amount of the bath near where the decanters water was actively showering down. Her body was a testament to a hard life well lived, chisled muscles and rock hard abs. Though she had little in the way of assests, she wasn't about being feminine anyway. She didn't even flinch when Tidus entered the baths, instead she puffed up her chest and waved openly to him. "A man with some courage, my opinion of you has improved. Though depending on your sword it may fall drastically once again. So come on in and join us!" When he wandered past she gave a seductive growl at his departure.
Sitting in the bath with the woman, she had largely ignored up until now, she finally answers her. "Because they offended me, usurping these lands without properly killing for them is the act of the honorless. So they have paid for their stupidity. Besides, they were growing that pack of nuisance's. Eventually you wouldn't have been able to get supplies in because they would have overrun anyone coming near you long before. They only attacked us because I was there and perhaps because of horse-legs. add "- over there." if Rhavenna is present."
She took a large hand and splashed it over herself as she pointedly focused on cleaning the cracks in her muscles, bloodying the waters slightly as the water ran off the top of the tub regardless. [b][smaller]"Anything else?"[/b][/smaller]
So apparently the forum reset took away my dots. that's annoying. But my hands are rested, so here we go! Post coming up tomorrow. Currently retraining.
Aslan bites back a snappy remark about not bloodying up the Priory. She responds coldly, though plays it off as being tired which she partially was. It wasn't easy killing wolves, fun but tiring."That's fine, my feet hurt anyway." She moves over to the disk and tests it first, making sure it wasn't going to spill her to the ground when she attempted to sit on it. Seeing it was solid she does as asked and lays down, a welcome relief to a long and seemingly endless night. "Where to driver?" She quipped at the robed woman, hoping to maybe ruffle her well pruned 'feathers'.
Happy Late holidays, was taking it easy with my hands and they feel much MUCH better now. got some of the bandages off yesterday, so nice to be able to flex my fingers.
Also, Werebear's are tough as nails. The wolves didn't stand much a chance on their own. Being in her Hybrid form gives her great DR which makes them all but just tripping annoyances. The Worgs were markedly more difficult but Aslan had this in the bag. Since I made her with the lonely warrior, no allies build.
"Fair enough, didn't expect... it." She bit back her tongue, knowing full well that provoking these goodie goodies would result in the doors being locked when she returned.
She looks to Tidus then, slugging him hard in the shoulder. "Don't be rough on Rhavenna while I am away."
She doesn't even pause as she smirks and looks at Rhavenna once more. "Don't try and stop me, don't offer to go with me. Sometimes you must walk alone, its our way, the Ioberian way."
Aslan stood at the broad doors, exhausted and raging with anger, the haughty paladins and their beloved keep made her sick. She knew of this Priory, now that she was standing before it, she had passed it many times in her travels. This had once been part of her domain, until she went mad and the Fallen snatched it up from under her. It was a reminder of what it was like to hole up and hide, instead of facing the infestation like she had for so many dark nights and lonely vigils.
The pack leaders challenge made her guts twist, she wanted to tear that Worg's head off and shove it up its hind quarters for good measure. Rhavenna's cautionary word of advice made her smirk. Of course they didn't understand, they weren't from Ioberia, they were from the soft western lands of milk and honey. Aslan couldn't help but be like the mountain's she once ruled, hard and cold as she spoke. "I cannot ignore the challenge, for to ignore it means death either way. In the eyes of my celestial lord I cannot let this pass."
She looks to the Elderly paladin then. "Will you allow me in if I return later this night? I can pay in furs or gold if you require compensation." She towered over this paladin and begging like this made her want to hit something.
indeed, hospitals piss me off, the nurses come in every half hour to check my vitals. then they say, get some rest, the madness.... totally going to sleep when they come in and wake you up to ask if they can check vitals. Just strap it on and leave me be!
i eventually had Julian chasing them off, which worked for two hours before they over powered him. Ugh.
It is good not feeling like i've been kicked in the groin every second of the day. *not really but a similar pain/sick in the stomach sort of thing* I had forgotten what it was like not being in pain. Constantly. granted i did projects and gamed to distract myself. Sleep is when it was the worse, drinking helped some, but it is good to be back!
hospitals are boring, O.M.G. and they pester you so much. No rest. XD
So discharged finally, and happy as well. My hands are totally torqued at the moment. But another couple weeks and I start typing again. But it is nice not feeling like I am going to be sick every day, that was a welcome change.
So I will return to my regular postings, hopefully with minimal interruptions.
She barley held back the sadness that glinted n her eyes as she spoke. "Apsu is blessed to have her, please tell her we say goodbye." As the light fades she wipes away a tear. "She will be missed." She rose to her feet, kissing the scale before allowing it to hang from her neck once more. if my time comes, I will not neglect to return and do battle again.
She returns the Oil of Life to Meiyun's care. She was discouraged, but this great setback wouldn't stop them. She lets Irabeth know and retires for the evening, to a long and sleepless night.
Guildhall and Bunks cost 3060 GP to have constructed, if I am reading this right. It'll take about a month or more/less to build depending on the condition of the building she is taking over. Deducting it from my sheet now.
Day 8
Since the forge is Corrupted still she will work on getting that rectified. So she was probably helping Julian work on his alchemy lab. The 6 she was going to spend isn't expended yet.
Hiring a Bureaucrat/Accountant for 3 gp/d, a master Mason for 4 gp/d, an Acolyte (440 gp) 2x Drivers (180 gp) and 5 laborers (70 gp) Buying two Heavy wagons (200 gp) and two heavy horses (400 GP)(
Cost for Organization investment 1290 GP + (210 gp) 30 days of employment each = 1500 gp
Total investment = 4560 gp I put it in her wealth section
She spends the day recruiting more individuals for the Labor Union, just because the Guildhall was being constructed didn't mean it wasn't time to get the word out. This Union would make a big difference in Drezen's recovery.
A bureaucrat/accountant, a master Mason, an Acolyte, two drivers and a group of laborers. Ten in all, she looked into buying wagons or carts for the movement of materials across Drezen as well. She focused her recruitment efforts on those of dwarven lineage, aiming to start the Union off strongly and let it grow over time. It would be by no means be exclusive, she even tries to recruit half-orc laborers if possible.
As the day starts to darken she heads back to the Citadel and sends orders out to get others to help her with her side project. She researches how to change the forge over to their side, searching whatever notes they had salvaged from the Citadel and showing them to Sosiel and Aravashnial to look over when they arrive the notes. To hopefully to determine a way to change the forge or at least make it inert. "These notes were captured from the traitor Staunton Vaughn's room. Lets use this to try and turn this vile forge into something useful... Or destroy it."
If she can she will recruit Julian as well to assist her and the others in finding a successful way to deal with the Corruption Forge.
At the end of the day she spends time with her companions, officers or whomever appears in need or want of company. She always puts time aside to speak with her roommate Anathya.
Day 9
Work continues on the Forge, she willing to expend what money she needed to to make it work. Meiyun needed the area to be converted over to her and soon.
Let me know what happens with the rolls and what else is needed.
Once she reached a point of frustration she dismisses everyone so they can clear their heads, requesting they return tomorrow so that they can continue their research.
The rest of the day she spent time with the downtrodden of Drezen, reinforcing the presence of Iomedae's finest and the idea they were here to stay. She spent her time healing others and trying to reverse the perversions dealt to them by the demons.
Healing others RP +1
Day 10
She spends time on the forge again, seeking answers to its redemption.
She visits Soltengrebbe and spends time with the great Chimera, intent on ensuring it didn't think she had forgotten them.
Optional
She see's if they will let her fly with them and if they will she takes a fly over of Citadel Drezen. After a few passes around the Citadel she soars out across the ruins of Drezen, it wasn't just a simple pass over. No, she wanted to see what areas appeared most in need of her aid today and when she saw them she asked Soltengrebbe to land there. She thanked her companion and let them return or stay as she made her presence known as she healed people in need.
Healing others RP +1
Day 11
Continue work on the Forge, hopefully coming closer to completing whatever it took to cleanse it.
As work continued on the Guildhall she spent time looking at the ruins of Drezen and considering on how best to fix the battered Citadel. However the people of Drezen came first, as much as a defensive fortress was needed. Restoring faith, trust and reducing disease and suffering were paramount.
So she headed out again, providing aid, healing and faith to those in need.
Today Rowan spent every waking moment with the people of Drezen in Southbank. Combing through the broken ruins with the rod of metal and mineral detection. She was looking to uncover hidden cache, armories or anything of use to the Crusades efforts. As she looked she provided assistance as well, expending her Hospitlar abilities to heal those in need.
She visits the workers at the Guildhall, talks with those that she has hired and pays for any expenses that have arisen in her absence. After that she tours Paradise hills with the Rod in hand once more, looking for useful objects and lending aid as needed.
She spends today selling and buying items, mainly selling, to rebuild the coffers.
She selects masterwork equipment and starts storing these items down in the forge room, reloading the armory with items Meiyun would eventually craft into usable items.
She sits down and drafts a proposal, that she submits to Irabeth once completed of the officers and soldiers that were key components of each battle. Without them the battles could have gone far more poorly.
Note: At the end of the day she spends time with her companions, officers or whomever appears in need or want of company. She always puts time aside to speak with her roommate Anathya.
Assuming we are back at the heart of the camp and dually noted, will add the description into my sheet. Unless you are adding it to the campaign profile. ;).
Using Terendelev's Scale, of cloud walking, she rose up on a nimbus and presented the restored banner for the entire encampment to see. Holding it aloft as she addressed the Dawnbringers, her companions and prisoners alike. "Behold, Brothers and Sisters! The Sword of Valor is restored and back in righteous hands! Though we were given a perilous quest to recover the Citadel Drezen we triumphed over the odds! The sacrifice of our fallen was not in vain!" She was letting the Sword of Valor hang proudly in the chaotic winds as her voice rang clearly above the assembled army. "Today we are victorious over the minions of the 'Wound! We have struck a blow to the demon armies! We come away with new comrades, recovered that which was lost and more!" As she spoke she looked to Jestak, Soltengrebbe and Meiyun in the crowd. She held the Rosarious of the Inheritor as she said the rest of her words, a smile spreading across her face. "Let us give thanks to Iomedae and the gods of light for this momentous day, for the courage and resolve of all of you! For without you, this day would not have come! Be proud of your accomplishment, your sacrifice and your bravery!"
Diplomacy - Improve Attitude of those present:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32
She held her free arm out as she thanked them all personally from atop the Nimbus. Though her voice took on a personal and hardened tone. "We must keep the flame of hope in this broken land alive and preserve this victory for our children, for this is the last best hope for all of Golarion. If we falter now, we will be sentencing them to face the last step into a thousand years of darkness!" She thrusts a fist into the air then as she issued a Rallying call to the troops. "Together we will prevent this! Together we can hold the line and push them back! Mile after mile, through dark grottos and over mountains we will push them back my comrades! We will win! So Please continue to lend us your strength to restore this Citadel for the hard fight ahead!"
Diplomacy - Improve Attitude of those present:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
Rowan raises her head and embraces Anathya, holding her tightly and allowing her to have her vulnerable moment. She too needed a moment as the shaking in her limbs slowly subsided, though the battle had gone well the battle blood pounded in her veins. She looked back to the open doorway for a moment, looking for Nurah. Her heart skipping a beat when she didn't see her. So she called out. "Nurah, if you are there please come in. The danger has passed."
She continued to hold Anathya then, stroking her shimmering black hair, her cheek lightly pressed against Rowan's now dulled armored breastplate of the armor of the pious. Rowan turned her head and nodded slightly to Julian, silently willing him to go forward without them momentarily. Though they had defeated the demon, they hadn't fully won yet.
If he heads out she says.
"Check on Aron, make sure he is okay and find that caster. Don't hold back." The demons words stabbed at her heart, but she hoped that through Sosiel and her discovery that this was nothing more then a demon's desperate taunt.
Either way she the post continues with the below.
She continued to slowly stroke Anathyas hair then, her sobbing companions words echoing in her mind and giving her time to reflect. "Remember that above all, don't blame yourself. We came unprepared, you were injured spiritually and despite that, we won, you won Anathya." She spoke softly to her companion, recognizing the need for caution and empathy as she did so. "You did exemplary, you should be proud of that. Despite what happened you took back control and you will be stronger for it." She gave her a firm hug then, leaning her head onto the demon hunters shoulder. "I am so glad you are okay. This darkness will pass..."
As the demon faded into nothing she spoke to the dispersing ether that was once Eustoriax. "Hope will only be extinguish when the last life fades." when he was completely gone she sheathed her sword, cutting incorporeal creatures had its perks. No blood and that was all.
She willed herself to land on the floor below, she turned herself to face her companions before her feet were even touching down. Once on the floor she removed her helm. she hardly glanced at the banner before approaching Anathya. Nodding to Julian as she walked past him. "Thanks for your support, all of you." She steps up to Anathya, placing her hand and cupping Anathya's cheek before leaning in to touch her forehead to hers. She looked into her eyes as she spoke softly, obviously concerned for Anathya's well being. "Are you okay?"
Her hair was completely red like flames as her battle rage came into full swing in the presence of such unrelenting evil. The Armor of the Pious she wore into battle shined despite the clinging darkness, a testament to their struggle against the 'wound's control. Despite the demons words and actions, it only spurred her forward. She would not abandoned Anathya. "And you think I would just let you? You will fade into nothing Eustoyriax and I will drive you out." She had one means in her arsenal, but it was questionable if it would work against such a powerful demon. Iomedae, please help me to release his control over her. She gripped the Rosarius of the Inheritor in her fist as she casted a spell to protect from evil in celestial. "Iomedae protect her from this darkness!"
5ft step again as needed to get close to her. Cast - Communal Protection from Evil on Anathya and anyone else nearby. This constitutes a FRA IIRC, if not possible then just Anathya and normal PfE.

Rowan was astounded at Anathya's declaration, though upon seeing the path was not straight to a door she knew it wouldn't be as easy to finish this quest. Undeterred she raises her helm and gives Anathya a smile. "A fine ability indeed! Ragthiel is blessed to have one such as yourself to hunt for him."
She quickly follows suit with Julian's search and looks to the unknown doorway with unease. "Lets move quickly, we don't want them getting the time to rest."
She looks to her companions befre they press on, giving them both encouraging words of praise. "Without you two I fear our journey may have ended sooner then I had hoped. Thank you Julian for being the backbone on which this crusade rests on and thank you as well Anathya for bringing with you your devotion to the cause. Of which we will need both to continue pressing forward as we have. Before we move forward..." She presses her hand on her injuries, sealing them up before laying them on Julian's as well to ensure they were at their greatest fighting strength moving forward.
"Lead on Julian, be wary for the Shadow Demon we spoke of may lurk nearby." With those words she shuts her visor while readying her demon slaying blade and hoped she would not have to turn it on her friends.
Rough day for Rowan posted. As a hospitlar this will hit her hard, hopefully it shows in the post. I picture Paladins being brave and noble to a point but even they have weak moments and this is definitely hers.
As much as she tries to be a fighter she is more of a healer, something that has yet to fully dawn on her because of her staunch devotion to combating the demons of the Worldwound. Soltengrebbe is the perfect Teddy bear for this moment. As I don't think she could confide easily to someone else atm. I am hoping none of her officers see her state as she is effectively hiding under her large magical beast friend at the moment.
Take your time Anathya, better to get it right then play a character that is sup par for yourself. :)
@ Rednal
How is our pacing? Alright so far or do you want us to get further along before Anathya joins us? I assume that one battle a day is a bit slow for this type of campaign.
Gods are fickle lol At least Tarov is near full and Julian will just have to suffer for a bit lol.
Sounds fine by me Julian, waiting to see if my powers get stricken yet. Feel like I am breaking rules by NOT taking them prisoners but the situation isn't friendly to such lofty ideals. Not when we have so many to protect. :/ Sigh hard to choose sometimes. :/
A True Paladin. Especially by the 11 Acts of Iomedae would never willingly turn their backs on evil. She didn't right? Whether its under a rock or not doesn't matter. Its why they are the greatest warriors of the Mendevian Crusades, they fight relentlessly, even in the face of certain death they fill the breach and try to strike the mortal blow against evil. Even silver dragons have charged into battle when they could have so easily ran and possibly 'lived'.
To many they seem Suicidal, no one could fight so foolishly. But to them its their duty to be that armor in the gap, lest evil overwhelm the world, so it isn't foolishness but Duty that drives them. If the courage of others falters there's shall not and should not as they stand as the shining example of Courage and Valor. A symbol to rally others no matter the grim circumstances they face, whether mortally wounded or grossly outmatched or outnumbered. To hunt evil down and bring it to heel lest they harm the innocent, because than that blood is on their hands and they must seek redemption for failing to protect the many because the weakness of a few.
Paladins are heroes for a reason, they can be braggarts but Iomedae is the greatest example of what and how a Paladin should be.
:)
"Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul."
Seraph refrains from allowing her personal feelings to distract ehr from what she had to say. She is composed as she steps forward, standing at Queen Tatiana's side as she needed to be. She had a small detail of bodyguards near Tatiana as well, all loyal and upper ranked Dragonflight soldiers. One of which she whispered to, who then quickly saluted and left the chamber.
She set her hand on the table near where a tactical map of the Stolen Lands was displayed. She pushed the pieces on the board forward, indicating a push to secure the Stag Lands before she lifted the image of the Stag Lord off the board.
"Queen Tatiana, I have given orders to prepare the men to secure the Stag Lords fortress along with cleaning up his remaining forces lest another bandit lord try and take a hold of our new gotten gains. The dead have continued their attacks in our absense and its not good milady. I will redouble our efforts."
She turned then looking between Kiri and Halcorg, but her eyes moved between all of the assembled companions and barons. "We have kept in mind Lord Rupert's ideals when this kingdom was created which I thank all of you for seeing our accomplishments. But I will remind everyone that you are in the presence of the current ruler of Slobada, please show Queen Tatiana respect. This is not a request as I will not risk unrest outside this room again and the fragile moment our kingdom is the worst it has EVER been. We need tact and to ease the kingdom into this, not rapid changes foolishly pressed upon them."
"I apologize that some of you were ill informed as to what we have established but we have standing laws and a Justicar will be summoned to provided them for everyone's viewing within the hour. What we have drafted as the ruling notions of the Kingdom will be brought before you as well. We were unprepared for this meeting as it wasn't officially called but I assure you it will be orderly before its end."
"On that note I will say this as a point of caution. The Silver Dragonflight have secured the borders and we have been fighting for many months to hold this kingdom alongside our allies the Leventon's and Baroness Borgnok. We are far from Lawless and many have died to defend this kingdom. Please bare this in mind when you speak as many of us were close with those who have fallen. I personally will not stand a single insult to the dead."
Her voice was firm but respectful and she held back the emotion it brought to mind. She had buried far to many over the last few months.
"We have estates already built, at the moment expansion and securing our new borders is of the utmost importance. Not buildings that will be used as guildhalls, when we have options already in place. None of you were here to understand our current state of affairs, but if we show any weakness now. The creatures and countries that surround us will be enboldened to breach our lines. The dead have been showing increasing aggression, attacks are on the rise now multiple times a week and they are the next target we push them into lake Silverstep."
[saller]" In the mean time, if Ruperts child can be located then I promise to do everything to aid in rescuing or securing her here within Slobada. But the citizens are our top priority, as is this kingdom. Anando you are far more important then you give yourself credit and again I urge you to remain with us."[/smaller]
She was sincere when she spoke to Aanando as the Halfling had done a great service to the kingdom. Losing him would be a great blow for the kingdom as a whole.
Again looking at the new arrivals.
"You may not know this however we are not welcome in Brevoy, we are criminals. No better then the Stag Lord in the eyes of the Brevoyian Nobility as we stole from the Dragonscale throne itself. Any actions across their borders will more then likely be seen as an act of aggression, so I wish to air on the side of caution and not act unless we are absolutely sure we can succeed."
"I wish to avoid another Taldan and hope to model the kingdom around the upper class being representatives voted in by the people. It would ensure those who are given their position actually perform admirably for their term which I wish to be no less then three and no more then five. They should be allowed to remain in office as long as the people continue to believe they are worthy."
Danath looks at Seraph momentarily, his face remains composed as she continues.
"I also do not believe that the leading rulership should remain stagnant either, or in the hand of a monarchy. My proposal is that the official leadership of the country also be endorsed by the people, the best three among them needs to be selected by the barons and dukes. From there those three will vie for the position and must win the admiration of the populace. However, I agree with Kiri in the removal of those not performing in a way befitting the kingdom. The Ill Confidence should either be supported by everyone or by the majority. We can decide that later."
"Until we determined a new method it is my firm opinion that titles should fall in line as such. Depending on gender, Queen or King, Hands of the King. Which will be two individuals that help the king handle decision making and serve as confidantes. Followed by Dukes or Duchesses, Barons or Baronesses, Knights and baronets or knight errants. You must be of the rank of Knight or Baronet to run for a higher position within the kingdom. That is all I can say on this matter, thank you."
