Hopefully they're back, I wasn't able to upload my Troll. It crashed on me during creation.

Yesssss!!!

Looks like this forum is back up. I'll get things finalized and up here asap.

I can't seem to get the dice roll to take to generate my stats in building the Druid template. I'm going to try it on a laptop when I get home tonight.

I've included just a quick background on the character at least to get a sense (pardon the cellphone typo's that may have occured).

Gertzak:

Gertzak
“Deh Loa Bethekk guides us mon” Was a phrase that Gertazk heard over and over as he developed his skill in Atal’Dazar with Wardruid Loti. He had a calling, he ‘felt’ a calling, as a Druid of the Claw. He had once heard tales of the Druid Ashmane, the formidable honourable wild god who’d fought in the war of the ancients.
In the battle of the ancients Ashmane was credited with sacrificing herself to save countless lives during the great sundering. She fought off legions to save the lives of the innocent and Gertzak had always admired and looked to that. He felt that was his calling, to fight for the Horde and maintain his honour and the honour of the Horde.
Bethekk was the Loa of the panthers and always praised honour and loyalty to the pack. In his tribe, he grew up under that mentorship. He was always close with his tribe, always close with his pack and although yet hadn’t quite mastered the way of the Claw, he felt it run deep in his blood.
The Zandalar had only recently returned to the fold of the Horde, and as the most recent allied race, they were to send an emissary group to the capital. Gertzak being a promising pupil was selected to go with the group. As a younger Druid, his mind is filled with both the way of the forest, and the honour he so desperately wants to uphold personally, and tribally. Although he’s nervous to face new challenge, he’s steeled himself with traditions past of Ashmane and Bethekk, Druids and Loa’s he idolizes.

I've got the base template for the Druid written down on paper here, a Spirit of the beast build for polymorph. It's built as a mix between Feral spec and Resto spec (if we're talking WoW terms ha ha)

Hello there Mr Eltonj,

I've had some connectivity issues to the website and have been unable to upload the character for submission without timeouts, or errors or some kind of maintenance in the past 36 hours.

I understand I've missed the window to submit my character for selection and see you have 4 candidates already.

I'm on my way home from the office in approximately 4 hours, and was hoping to upload him from home (as I'm posting from my phone).

As a fan of the Horde and a WoW player, I had built a Troll Druid modeled after my character.

In short, asking for an extension of approximately 4-6 hours to get home as the website seems to be back up and functional.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I will put together a submission and build it as Core only. That is what drew me here in first!

Just wanted to know your thoughts in and around the Path as I'm unfamiliar with it.

Good Afternoon GM Eltonj,

Are you still accepting applications? If so I'll put one together today.

Good Afternoon GM RelicBlackOUT,

I've never played in a KingMaker before, and was just wondering, before I build my character, if you feel a Druid would be acceptable as a sumbission?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your consideration. Best of adventuring to the selected.

Happy Gaming!

Mr GM Wulfson,

I have certainly always been intrigued with the Iron Gods, and have always wanted to give the AP a shot.

I'm preparing my submission and certainly look forward to your consideration. The question that I have for you is would using an archetype such as Iron Priest for a Cleric be to presumptuous?

I'm looking at building a Dwarven Cleric for consideration in your adventure.

I've recently become more comfortable with the boards, and have been running an RotR on the boards for approximately a month. I'd have to say entirely enjoyable and lots of fun! In fact I see some of the players on this board as well!

Thank you in advance for your time,

Good afternoon GM DM Kaavek,

I respectfully withdraw my application for consideration in your campaign. I have recently undertaken running a game on the play by post forums and I feel that will require 100% of my attention.

Thank you again for allowing me to apply.

-Please remove Taurs 'Bull' Scipio

Happy Gaming

I've created the recruitment thread for this game.

Rise of the Runelords - Anniversary [Core Only]

Good luck! Happy Gaming.

Thank you to all those sending me PM's with help and outpouring support of the classics.

To all those in the thread, I'm super excited to see such love for the classics.

Regarding the Traits, confusion cleared up! I had made the mistake of looking at the Runelords Player's guide, not the Runelords Anniversary Player's guide. Clearly in the latter there is a section regarding traits.

To that effect, I'm going to revise the character creation stipulations, and we're going to simplify even further. It's going to be Core Rulebook only. After re-browsing the Chapter I of the AP, and my notes of the party that ran through it - I don't see it having any long term effect on the game.

Character creation guidelines will be coming out today. Stay tuned!

On another note, there is another Game Master who would like to run a classic game as well, same stipulations, so this may very well be a double recruitment which would mean instead of 6 spots, it may be up to 12! For the same AP on a seperate game. So for those that are looking to play, double the spots!

Wow! Such response I hadn't expected. Part of me though that with all the materials released there would be a drive for the 'exotic' builds and variant rules that are released.

As a more classic gamer, the base rules have always lent well to my story telling and narrative.

I'm going to put together the stipulations for building submissions and open recruitment. The recruitment will last 7 days, and we'll get the game started shortly after that.

I'll try and answer a few of the preliminary questions:

- Regarding the changes from 3.5 to PFRPG: The version from what I understand has become a little bit tougher, but not much. I'm not really looking to re-write the AP. I'm going to run it 95% stock minus the potential to have an NPC or two that I build in there. I'd like to see how the AP unfolds. It's as much a journey for me as it is for you. Like I had said I'm nearing the end of Chapter I, haven't looked past that.

- Regarding the Traits: I hadn't thought that system existed in CORE and the Runelords AP. I just went through the AP and couldn't find them. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, I see a few feats that are listed but not 'Traits' particularly. As of right now, Traits are off the table. I want to run with a minimalist view. CORE rulebook, and AP for flavouring. That is all.

- Regarding the point build: I believe the original AP was built at a 15-point for NPC's, but I'd rather the 20-point build for PC's. Gives them that little edge and heroic feel.

To all of you that have offered assistance both through PM and on this post. Thank you so much, I will certainly utilize that aid as I'm trying to figure the medium out.

Hello one and all!

I'm sending out this application to see if there's an interest in playing the Runelords AP as was intended. I'm currently running it at my table bi-weekly having started it last February. Other than a brief hiatus on that, they're about to finish the first chapter next week.

I'd be interest now running it online. I've never run an online game, or a play by post game - so keep that in mind when applying. I've been a game master for 18 year. So I'm sure they'll be some growing pains adapting to the medium, but my focus tends to be on narrative, so I'm sure we'll get through.

What I'm looking for is:
- 4-6 players (depending on level of interest) for this AP

- Running this AP as was intended. Minimal GM re-write on this one. I have a couple of NPC's that I may or may not interject but I think it would be fun to run it as Piazo created it.

- CORE Rules only. The only thing to draw on for players will be a combination of the Players Handbook Core Rulebook and the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide. I think it would be really fun to run it as Paizo built it when they launched their flagship AP.

More to follow depending on how much interest there is in playing the AP this way.

As for commitment level I would expect a minimum 4 post per week frequency.

I'd like to have this AP start as soon as possible. So if there's interest I'd open a recruitment that would last approximately a week and we'd get under way shortly after that.

Good afternoon Mr Valence Niels d'Geiger,

I'll be withdrawing my application, just as the character concept I'd been working on hasn't taken a life of it's own, and as I'm leafing through the Gestalt rules (Never played it) I don't believe I'll have the time to build the character.

Happy Gaming!

Good Afternoon Valence Niels d'Geiger,

I'm coming down to the wire, but I have a question prior to building a Fighter/Ranger concept, do you allow firearms as a general? I'm reading into the Feat Tax you have quoted, and it seems like a very interesting addition.

I've not played by post yet, so I apologize if the question was already answered and I missed it along the thread.

Don't worry about putting together the alias. Folks around here are just used to supplying that info. Also, given how character class heavy Pathfinder is, I think it just helps most people work through their character concept. The party will be selected based on the backstory, hooks that I have to customize the module, and whatever I think will make an interesting party.

Aok! Thanks for clairfying!

Looking forward to reading about the adventure weather selected or not!

This is an aside, I had completely forgotten to indicate the race of Human. I do have the write up mostly finalized, just haven't created the alias and such. Is that something you wanted ahead of time? I'm seeing all the builds pop up, and now am wondering (a little late indeed) if I should put up the 'alias' thing?

I would love to play in your game, I'm new to the Play by Post concept. Never have in fact. I'm no stranger to narrative and elaboration. Been playing D&D for 18 years (among other things), Pathfinder for probably about a decade in there. Most of it as GM. (For a quick background on me) I've never had an opportunity to explore the Sunless Citadel.

Any who - I would like to submit Bellion Caudex (Wizard).

The guilded mage towers of Cheliax is where Bellion spent most of his teenage years, and quite a few of his early adulthood. Learn, practice, repeat was the consistent motto of the Arcanum. Cheliax bred it's mages for power, conquest, domination, and ultimately subservience to it's Demonic rulers and Regency.

This however was not the life for him. His natural skill and connection with the Arcane distinguished him as far beyond the ability of his fellow mages. To this day, Bellion swears that he heard the Arcane energies speak to him, and guide him away from Cheliax.

He travelled east in his need to understand the Arcane, it was such a complex mystery. He joined in with a group of Mercenaries, known as the Warblades, traveling through the central lands. That year was by far the most 'fun' for Bellion. He had a chance to flex his Arcane muscle, and develop his martial skill. What shaped Bellion the most was the difference in life, from regiment to relaxed. He did some things that he was proud of, and some that he wasn't as much. He'd come to think of the Mercenaries as a family.

Which brings us to Taldor and the smaller city of Oakhurst. What was supposed to be a stopover became the end point for the Warblades. They were moving through Verduran Forest when an overwhelming group of Pirates set upon them. It was a battle of attrition. The Pirates fighting for wealth, while the Blades' were fighting for their lives. Only three of them survived, Bellion being one of them. The three survivors took refuge in Oakhurst.

The Arcane would 'speak' to Bellion again, a new chapter would begin from the unfortunate end of the last.

---

Should you accept me, I would build the character in full. This is a short synopsis of the backstory for Bellion. I had planned on elaborating simply to flesh out some of the more defining expereinces, but as he's a level one character, the majority of the expereince is minor. Theres nothing overly heroic or incredible.

I submit Caudex Licius , a Human Ranger (Battle Scout - 3).

Caudex is a former sergeant for the Chelaxian military. He was trained and tasked to operate in either small groups or as an individual, scouting out ahead of battalions and the regulars. His last assignment didn't go as planned, and the battle group he was scouting for suffered heavy losses, including the loss of several Hellknights and several officers of minor nobility. As always in failure there is always the need for Cheliax to find someone to blame, and this time is was Caudex. The Chelaxian military, not known for their compassion, dismissed and sent him off to the slave colonies in the next available transport ship.

I'm building him as an Archer Ranger to fill a ranged non magic spot. If I get the green light I'll build him in completeness.

Fantastic! What would you like me to submit? Just the concept?

Hello Mr Fuzzfoot! Are you still recruiting? Or has this closed. This seems like such an amazing concept to be a part of!

Roger roger! I'll get the Barbarian write up shortly then!

I'm just finishing up a write up for a Cleric, but if the Barbarian spot is still open I would just as much write up a Half-Orc Barbarian. I just wouldn't want to over-write someone who called it earlier in the thread.

@ MacShack - Great!

I've started, I created an Alias Goruk Stonemaul as a Test, eventually a Barbarian I'd like to play in the future, however haven't decided if I'll make him a PFS for the Con's I go to.

If they don't I'd gladly play really anything as my first forray into the PBP world.

Character Rolls:

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 2) = 11
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3, 2) = 11
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 4) = 15
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 6) = 15
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 3) = 15
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 6) = 15

9,10,12,14,12,14 - Array

Hey! Finally got the spoiler thing to work. Is there a way to see what everyone is playing? Just so I can put together a concept and backstory for submission to you?

Good day!

I'm very new to the PBP style of Pathfinder. I'm certainly interested in applying. I've been playing d20 games for just about two decades now and unfortunately it's been hard to keep a live table.

Still looking to game however!

How do I go about applying for your game?

Thank you in advance!

Ah darn! I just got home from work and missed the deadline. Oh well, look forward to reading of your adventures!

Tavarokk wrote:
You have something like 8 hours left to write up a complete charsheet. Also, half-orc maybe? I mean, we all know and love good ol' Sir Bearington, but for your first game something less conspicious might be prudent.

Aok! I'll write one up pretty quickly, and you're probably right, a full on Orc in a populated city-center would likely draw a heck of a lot of attention. The half-breed would draw marginally less.

I'm not sure I'm looking to play 'Sir Bearington' ha ha but definitely. So I would just post the write up in this thread as well? Or send that directly to the game master?

Thanks for responding. Pretty new to the whole online community for pen and paper!

Good Day!

I'm looking to apply for your PBP game! This sounds particularly interesting and playing a full on Evil Campaign just sounds darned fun.

I've never played by post before and I'm looking to break into it. With the day to day business of life it makes it rather difficult to keep up the ol'gaming schedule.

I'd expect to be able to post 3-5 times daily if needed, during my morning rountine, evening routine and one at work during the day while on lunch.

I've been playing pen and paper for just under two decades, and have primarily been the GM for things I've played. It would be my first time playing PBP.

In answer to resolving player conflict - The in character conflict goes with both the RP and the build of the character and the majority of them can be done just by understanding who you're playing with. Between actual PC's, it would be better if one, or both removed themselves from the action, settled their differences amicably, and return to the game rather than disrupt the active game. (Granted I'm sure that's different via the posting forum.)

Anyways, would like to be considered for the game. I'd love to play a Orc Barbarian (a little standard I know). Any feedback even if not selected in how to properly post/apply to games would be apprecaited.

Thanks in advance!
