Citizens from a number of settlements in the North and West of Golarion recently held council and elected to work together on Trade, Training, and Environmental Threats as "The Coal Road." The Road begins in the Bulwark Hills, and goes wherever the need for coal takes us.

Many of us will co-operate on a new place of socialization. We have begun gathering at coalroad.com.

Those interested in finding like minded gatherings are welcome to sign up at any time. Please identify yourself to the site as a resident of a Coal Road community, and which settlement you are in or plan on joining, or as a Friend, or Trading partner.

There are several administrators from each of the participating settlements so that new participants can feel welcome with all speed.

I'd like to have a get-together on the Golarion mumble with some of the folks from groups in the North-West to talk about the possibility of a unified group web presence with moderators from all participating Settlements.

Aiming for Saturday at server down 9:00 PDT / 12:00 EDT / 16:00 UTC

For any questions or suggestions you can put them in this thread, or PM me here, or email d20rpg@gmail.com.

Tavern Gossip is the tentative title for a community newsletter for the Crusader Road region in Pathfinder Online.

Articles, Art, Rumours and Innuendo are all gratefully received, as are people interested in helping put it together.

For the first issue, the first (or most interesting) recruiting messages/Classified Ads of no more than 200 words that fit (at the editor's sole discretion) will be run free of charge, be they Settlements, Nations, Companies, or individual purveyors of goods and services.

Volunteers, content, and threats of lawsuits for slander may all be forwarded to tavern.gossip@gmail.com or you may reach me via PM here: PM Caldeathe Baequiannia

I left Ozem's Vigil a long time ago, including resigning my leadership position. None of my toons are part of Ozem's Vigil in any way (though I might occasionally do some training at our friendly neighbour in a pinch). I am still friendly with several of their citizens, but I have no authority of any kind nor sway on their actions. The other Irregulars chose to follow me to Stoneroot Glade, where I have made some new friends. I do not have a leadership position in Stoneroot Glade, nor have I requested one. Because I am in Stoneroot Glade, I am no longer a member of the Free Highlanders, nor do I speak for them or have any sway over their activities.

Greetings, folks. We've received more than enough donations to bump the Golarion mumble to 75 users. On the other hand, we've also received some advice that we'd get more bang for our buck by using the money to purchase time on a virtual server and install our own murmur server (mumble's underlying engine). That would allow us to set our own limits, and simply pay for additional processor power and bandwidth as needed, while still leaving the engine accessible to multiple people. It's even conceivable (I haven't checked) that we could run both Teamspeak and Mumble, so that groups with a preference one way or the other could use what works best for them.

For now, I'm holding the new money until we can have a conversation and the community reaches a preferred decision. I've requested that the existing time be shortened to convert to 75 users (haven't heard back yet) I'd like to hear from anyone with facts or opinions one way or another.

I'm copying this from Goblinworks to avoid missing anyone, but would prefer that the conversation happen there.

Hi folks, a generous donation to supporting the Golarion Mumble on behalf of the Emerald Lodge came in this morning. It is almost enough to:
1) increase users from 50 to 75
2) stretch the mumble from two years to three with the existing users.

Whatever EL members feels is most useful, I will probably underwrite the extra unless more donations come in.

Hi Folks, trying to do some tracking on PFO Song Book list.

Please link here to other things so I can add them as well, thanks.

This Thread was created in general discussion of the Pathfinder forums, because it isn't about Pathfinder Online, it's about finding people who backed the kiscktstarter but are not planning to play. Moving it to the PFO sub forums ensures that no one who is actually intended to see it can see it.

If so, you might be sitting on some money.

There are lots of people looking for the PFO kickstarter accounts (I'm not one of them, but some friends are) and some would happily pay more than you did for just your characters, with you hanging on to all the other goodies.

There are almost always "want to buy" threads open in the sub forum, and you are welcome to create your own offer to sell if you prefer.

You could make yourself some money while making someone else happy.

Blue Skies
Toon has gone blue sky
Like a deep blue screen
On a blue blue day
Blue skies
Toon has gone blue sky
When the reset comes
I'll be far away
And I say

Blue sky waiting for reset
Holding back the pain
Toon has gone blue sky
I’m alone
Again

Blue skies
Toon has gone blue sky
Like a clear blue sky
Looming over me
Blue skies
Oooh I hate blue skies
When I'm out of game
So impatiently
I will see

Blue skies filling up the screen
Laughing at my pain
Toon has gone blue sky
When reset comes,
I will be far away

Blue skies filling up the world
Laughing at my pain
Toon has gone blue sky
And I am lost,

The Golarion mumble now has a sub-group for companies that are not attached (permanently) to a settlement. I've moved Wilderness Wanderers in there, along with a new room for Dreamless.

The Pathfinder Online Developers have officially moved their presence to the Goblinworks Forums.

Any developers that appear here do so out of their own interest, or as a courtesy. They are not looking for ideas here, and are not generally checking these boards for people that need assistance.

I am in no way connected with Goblinworks or Paizo, and this is not an official message from either company.

Are you tired of not being accused of using exploits? Is it weeks since anyone's accused you of doing weird stuff? Maybe you belong in Stoneroot Glade.

Stoneroot Glade, where having fun is always in vogue.

These claims have not been evaluated by the surgeon General or Goblinworks. Results are not typical. Many of our members go weeks without being accused of anything.

The Golarion mumble server is available to anyone in the game for either individual groups or co-operative ventures. Any settlement or company that wishes a room for their private events is welcome to request one, and anyone that manages a group can be given access to the server for looking after spaces.

Currently supported mostly by me, it is provided to the players as a open space for cooperation. Donations to support he costs are appreciated, and anything above a minimum will be used to either extend the server (currently covered for two years) or expand the number of slots (currently 25) as appears most useful to people.

I have a DT account set-up with the backdated XP that I am not currently playing. I put some basics on each one, a little BAB a little armour, some basic stuff with a focus and staff and a level of gathering (x4) that would let me build a few achievements as I wandered away from the starter settlements. Male, Humans, for flexibility.

At the moment, they have approximately 90,000/91,000 XP in the bank.

I don't actually have any interest in Selling them, but I'm only human. If you offer to throw enough at me, I would certainly get along without them. The account is attached to an existing Gmail account that was created during alpha for no other purpose, and would go with them if they sold.

I've always been a fan of Hex "G," so when it started to look like half the board was going to be empty, and like Guardheim was one of the teams that wasn't planning to show up, I decided to see if I could keep the settlement alive. I wrote to customer service and asked (as a former holder of Hex G as Elkhaven) for permission to act in loco parentis and be able to accept company memberships for it for the War of Towers. I was vague, deliberately so I admit, but did nothing to hide who I was. I said flat out that if anyone with a better claim or interest turned up, I was happy to turn it over. That was, in fact, always my hope and expectation. I was approved to control a tower-permissions company for Guardheim. My choice, in my thinking, had nothing to do with Ozem's Vigil, and I deliberately did not inform Ozem's. Nobody knew but two of my friends, and I treated Guardheim as a special, and separate piece of my PFO life going so far as to try to work out deals with Gale Windswept (of Blackfeather Keep) and the folks at Alderwag to try to build a single strong crafting team with its membership spread across multiple settlements.

People inside OV found Guardheim convenient to use for crafting, and started trying to help it be a better crafting settlement, offering to take towers and turn them over. All of this by email, as I avoided talking to anyone live because they all knew me as part of their team. Eventually the interactions became humourously impossible, as we were unable to co-ordinate and ended up repeatedly killing each other in an effort to help one-another. At this point, I decided it was impossible to manage on that level. I informed the OV members present that there was no one else to talk to as it was me. I also wrote directly to Ryan, to make sure there were no mistakes about what was happening. He reviewed things, and decided that it wasn't appropriate to transfer management of the settlement's companies, and InGuard (along with Guardheim's current participation in the Tower Wars) was dissolved.

Some of the other leadership of OV generally felt that I had put them in a difficult situation by not informing them in advance, but that a commitment not to take such actions in future without talking to them first would smooth things. While acknowledging the potential for fallout to the group, I disagreed with them on the relationship of my actions to the group, and was unprepared to promise I'd never do anything like it again (I take promises very, very, seriously), but didn't want to cause a strain within the group, so have chosen to give up my leadership position (and probably any ties at all) .

I'm not posting this out of any need to clear my own chest, but because I'm looking for another group in which to participate, and don't want anyone that takes me in blindsided by this down the road. If you take me as a citizen, you'll be getting someone who's committed to the letter and spirit of the game, but will not always necessarily agree about how much control other people have over my personal actions.

Our Settlement manager has asked me to act in this capacity, pending a decision of our full council. I am also prepared to liaise with other groups in Northern Golarion for those that have difficulty making contact.

I welcome contact with other settlements about trade, and want it made clear up front that having been recently decamped in Golarion, I consider nothing that happened on these forums in the past relevant to any future decisions.

My preference is for direct email contact, which I can be certain I will notice several times a day. d20rpg@gmail.com

You can also switch things up and add or subtract single items from the stack to get different numbers. So after the count is 4, you could add just 1 to make it 5, then drag and drop to double it to 10, 20, 40, 80, whatever you need.

TLDR: If you have an interest in the North, please contact Bringslite (preferably) or myself as soon as possible.

We would like to have a meeting to discuss the new realities of life in Golarion (generally) and the North (Specifically). Said meeting might involve expanding, contracting, replacing or dissolving existing alliances and will happen no later than Saturday Morning Server Downtime.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

We had some discussions last night, and lack clarity on how the window works for the towers

Is it first past the post, then the window closes. Or first past the post but you can still keep fighting for the fun-of-it, or last person to hit the counter wins?

i.e., the day after an already held tower is taken, when the window reopens, can the owners (or attackers) get their 1000 points, then be safe in their control until the next day, or can others continue to work to take it (and/or take it back) right through until the original window closes?

If control is secured by the first past the post, I presume the hex still remains free-for-all-PvP for the window's duration?

Since the GW staff is going to be extraordinarily busy for the next 48 hours, I'd like to suggest a clean (as celan as we can manage) thread here for questions we'd like to see addressed before it goes live. Fewer places to look and less chafe might improve the Signal to Noise ration and actually get us the answers we crave.

Or less then polite, I hope nobody takes it personally. My wife started a new chemo drug ten days ago and it has been unexpectedly effective in wiping out her immune system. She's been at the hospital since Monday evening, will be there for at least 2-3 more days, and I'm far, far behind on my sleep. I say this only because this community has become important to me.

I was looking for a suitably old thread to necro (in honour of the day) and instead came across one that I thought deserved a resurrection.

I'd appreciate if anyone who felt like it would offer two things. 1) What you'd say if you could only say one, honest, thing to try to get someone to try PFO. 2) What you'd say if you could only say one honest thing to try to stop someone from trying PFO.

Most of the following items are going to be banked and abandoned in Blackwood Glade, to clear up a character to run to Brighthaven later in the week. Let me know if you want them. I'll try to hang out there at least until Thursday night. Bringslite gets first dibs, so an of them may come off the list if you aren't the first to speak. Sorry about the odd characters, I used OCR (ABBYY Screenshot Reader plus manual tough-up for quantities, if you care) because I was too lazy to type all this.

Per Ryan's request that we attempt to get a bunch of people together to check a town with no Thornguards, I'm suggesting we begin a slow migration of as many people as are interested into Rotter's Hole. It need not be your primary character, and need not have any armour or weapons. The point is to get a bunch of people together in one spot to see what happens.

With that in mind, instead of encouraging people to go East to the mountains between Callambea and Freevale, we'll spend some time in the escalation at the monster home near the centre of a triangle made by Stoneroot Glade, Guardheim, and Rathglen.

Hopefully, instead of trying to get a bunch of people into place at one time, over the course of this weekend we can slowly fill the vicinity of Rotter's Hole, so that by Sunday we can have a large number of people there to test. Ideally, a large number of people who aren't worried about having a low reputation by the end of the night. ;-)

Indicate here if you plan to help test Rotter's Hole this weekend.

I propose we all get on mumble or teamspeak and get separated sometime this weekend, and try to get killed as often as possible.

We can use it to help Harad and his minions populate the shrine location data for the Unnoficial PFO online atlas, by reporting our resurrection locations in an open document of some kind.

Any takers?

Goblin Squad Member

I'm not rogue inclined, but even I can see a lot of dismay in those who are. I suggest that rather than complain about what rogues can't do that they could in tabletop, people outline a new Rogue for PFO. Identify specific things Rogues could do in PFO that would make them sufficiently different from the other roles and at the same make them useful. It may, if nothing else, provide an idea pool for the GW staff to draw from.

I want to thank those who turned out for the escalation event last night. It wasn't nearly as organized as the previous one, but I think we still had a lot of fun, including getting a couple of first-time players involved and showing that they can be useful.

I also want to thank TEO for finding enough people on a Saturday night to drag a company across the map. I know most of my own crew where involved in real lives, so I can't imagine it was easy to get a bunch of people to devote an entire evening to a PR event.

Thanks again, everybody, and I look forward to seeing more of you all soon.
