Doc Evil was a great GM when he had the time for it. But like a lot of us real life intercedes. He has dropped us twice now. I reluctantly agree that this game is likely dead. I would have loved to play it out to the end. Thanks everyone for a great run.

Cadas intended to kill the laughing giant to get it out of the fight because she believes the fight could last longer than Robin's spell. I'd have liked to see how it played out as well. Cadas has a few standard action summons to help and distract and lots of healing channels, some of which can be done as move actions. She finally was able to cast her Righteous Might spell and with that new trident is the best fighter she has ever been.

I hoped the wall of force would at least cause the lamia matriarch to use her standard to get around it and maybe be even leave her stranded for a few rounds.

We seem to have paused. Can we pick back up?

How about a 20+'high wall of force splitting off Barl Breakbones? Yes, I recommend that. Then a defensive move, maybe back.

Cadas casts Righteous Might and closes on the laughing giant.

I had Cadas at full - I think she channeled enough to bring her up. Was certainly my intent to be full. And so much for divide and conquer. :(

Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Cadas avoids most of the fire damage, but now seeing how this fight will likely do decides to divide things up in hopes of taking one enemy at a time. She casts Wall of stone just to the east of Adolina, hopefully blocking the group from sight from all but the closer giant. she adopts the +2 to hit and AC from her deities blessing and advances.

The wall will be 10-12' high and 20-25 feet wide, following that contour line on the map.

Wall of Stone:

Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF (a small block of granite)

EFFECT

Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect stone wall whose area is up to one 5-ft. square/level (S)
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw see text; Spell Resistance no

DESCRIPTION

This spell creates a wall of rock that merges into adjoining rock surfaces. A wall of stone is 1 inch thick per four caster levels and composed of up to one 5-foot square per level. You can double the wall’s area by halving its thickness. The wall cannot be conjured so that it occupies the same space as a creature or another object.

Unlike a wall of iron, you can create a wall of stone in almost any shape you desire. The wall created need not be vertical, nor rest upon any firm foundation; however, it must merge with and be solidly supported by existing stone. It can be used to bridge a chasm, for instance, or as a ramp. For this use, if the span is more than 20 feet, the wall must be arched and buttressed. This requirement reduces the spell’s area by half. The wall can be crudely shaped to allow crenelations, battlements, and so forth by likewise reducing the area.

Like any other stone wall, this one can be destroyed by a disintegrate spell or by normal means such as breaking and chipping. Each 5-foot square of the wall has hardness 8 and 15 hit points per inch of thickness. A section of wall whose hit points drop to 0 is breached. If a creature tries to break through the wall with a single attack, the DC for the Strength check is 20 + 2 per inch of thickness.

It is possible, but difficult, to trap mobile opponents within or under a wall of stone, provided the wall is shaped so it can hold the creatures. Creatures can avoid entrapment with successful Reflex saves.

I hope this is ok, since we are up at the same time and you can speak out of turn.

Before Adolina can move Cadas casts Blessing of Fervor on the group and moves up herself, accepting the bonus to movement from the spell. Stay close if you want to be in my circle. She advises.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

First, back from travels and jet lagged but here. I got home after a 24 hour day of travel at around midnight and then had to get up to work today. Ugg.

I did a quick look at the character Avdol. I personally have no issue with the prestige class feats and have used them before myself in a home game. I am a little concerned how low your melee damage is, but then again its higher than the wizard you are replacing. lol. Same with AC I guess. Just do not get too confident and thing you can tank. :)

My one real concern is your skill point distribution. you have a 20 int but only two solid knowledge skill (and Spellcraft of course.)

Now we have to survive this fight so that you can join us.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

I will be traveling home tomorrow. It’s a long day for of travel and I doubt I will be able to post until Monday.

Doc. Evil’s call of course but if you wanted to come in as an arcane caster I would be down with that. But how about you slightly Retool Marcellano to your liking and play him. Makes for a easy fit. I did this in another game, taking over for a fighter, and it worked great.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas cautiously follows.

i cannot fix the negative level until in the morning (still before it has a chance to become Permian) but can fix the damage.

Cadas sacrifices Summon Monster IV to heal Adolina.

Cure Critical: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (8, 7, 3, 3) + 10 = 31

That seems reasonable Marcellano. Cadas nods If we are successful we can later decide what is best. she adds, careful not to mention putting down the undead in front of it.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas her magic but continues to close. If you truly control this creature perpahs we can use it against the giants. How strong is your control?

I think you get a save later, to prevent it becoming permanent. But I can fix it, out of combat.

After 4 rounds of double moving I am still not close enough to do much! This is what I can do.

Cadas moves again, but only 20'. When she stops moving she calls upon the energy of Gozreh to smite the undead. Captain Bayden, we came to rescue you at the request of your lover. Does that still mean anything to you? If so, stand down.

Burst of Radiance.: 5d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 2, 3) = 12 Damage only if evil. And DC 17 relfex or be blind for 1d4 rounds.

Well, my issues are not yet settled but I am back home and should be able to post daily until I leave for a vacation on October 29. Back Nov. 10. Limited internet while traveling but I will try to check in every other day or so.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas is forced to double move again to see what is going on. Seeing the undead she tries to recall details of what it might be.

Cadas moves again with Robin wondering about the wisdom of letting the scout get so far ahead.

Cadas runs along with Robin as well, concerned about the noise they are making.

Earlier

Cadas sacrafices healing flames to cast a cure critical on Adolina, saying Blessings of Gozreh as she does so. She also recommends Robin cast some heals from his spells or wands.

Cure Critical: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 6, 6, 4) + 10 = 33

She will also mention to the hags that should her mission be successful there is a chance she might be able to raise their sister from the dead, if they can help with the material components.

I wanted to note that some family stuff has been pulling me out of town and away from my computer. I hope all that is settled and I can get back to daily posting.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas offers healing before Adolina takes off.

Frontal Assault? Cadas is not subtle. Also Cadas "could" restore the dead sister IF she was properly motivated. Not gonna bring that up at the moment. Perhaps that would be an evil act? Lets see how this plays out.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Was off line this weekend unexpectedly. Sorry about that.

Satisfied with the hag's responses Cadas waits for a final answer before accepting their dead and moving to take care of the stone giant.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

you spoke of aid, and yet you offer none. Cadas notes I think we would find adi against these ogres and giants among your possessions if we should finish you. You must offer more. Tell us of what we will face goin forward.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

LOL

Cadas waits to hear the answer.

It is true that we did not come here to fight you. We look for ogres and giants, and a human man. A soldier. Perhaps a prisoner. Perhaps dead. Do you know of such a man? And if you can help us against the ogres and giants then perhaps we can be allies.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

A good skill to have, especially with me carrying Liberating Command.

As soon as the fog clears Cadas' spell goes off and Adolina can make an escape artist check at +20.

Need to know if she gets free or not before Cadas speaks.

As the fog lifts and Cadas has line of sight she will cast Liberating Command on Adolina as an Immediate Action. I do not think immediate actions provoke, but if you say they do she will do this defensively IF she is still threatened.

Color me interested. I have played exactly one game of 2E and have bought the book. Still learning. How much time do we have to apply? On a related note to that question:

I wanted to give an update that I'll be at Dragon Con this weekend and will not be able to post much if at all. And this weekend starts Wednesday for me. :) I'll be back and on a regular schedule Tuesday.

Then do you want to place us on the map? It is the end of your turn but I think we should get to act.

Earlier - did not see updates until this morning...

Speaking through the message link Cadas ponders <<Slaves. I wonder if they would fight against their captors...>>

Now

Cadas advances. <<They?>> she questions as she moves.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Or strait? I see three ways to go. Cadas notes. But I am thinking left.

Not willing to give away their scout, Cadas resists the urge to investigate the statue until her return. She tests the connection of the Messsage spell speaking a brief word to the party's wizard. Are we still connected? she whispers.

I recall. Was thinking it was more of a reincarnation. But since she is a ghost I am not sure how all that is gonna work. :)

As promised I went back to review what resources were used so far. But it seems we are not repeating the first combat but may be repeating the second? So I have broken down what people cast for combat 1 and then Combat 2. Can we get a clarification about combat two, which I think was two ogres and a giant.

And certainly did not know we were cold Good job on the description. I got a chill reading it. :)

Cadas stands shivering but only just and enjoys the break from the wind. She turns her back to the cave and conjures a small light on a coin but covers it before it can be seen.

I am good restarting as you suggest. But also I do not mind reviewing the buffs, hits and spells cast for the group and summarizing it for all if we do not.

Glad you are back at the helm. I already feel more connected to the story.

A quick point - Cadas did activate the devise at the dam, costing her a level and destroying the pit fiend (from memory). But I bet you got that already. And destroying is likely not the right word - sent home maybe?

I played through this game with my home group years ago so some of it is familiar and I confuse what happened to Cadas with what I recall playing a ranger 5 years ago. I do recall the fight with the Black Magga but was not sure when it was to happen. Sorry to hear we missed it.
