"I......" the imposing hellknight speaks and pauses as if wrestling with what he has had to say...

Instead he undo the clasps of his full helm and removes it, revealing a rather boyish looking man with an obviously broken nose that healed badly.

"Milady Zarta, I have risked body, mind, soul and Honor for you. Even when you were captured did I risk to rescue because you. Not your heritage even revealed as of now, would I have changed my mind. You have made your own mark with the Society. You and not House Davian. This is more of your own talent and despite what Thrune has attempted to do, you have thwarted their plans and will continue to do so, I have no doubt." the hellknight scratches his chin as he looks rather sheepish.

"Staying in the society also means you are protected and should Thrune should send attempts on you, they'll not only have to contend with me but also the society. I am a hellknight sworn to Oath but that Oath also binds me with chains that cannot be easily broken. Stay with the Society I ask Milady Zarta, so that despite these chains....I too can aid and protect all that you hold dear."

Diplomacy 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 <---the dicebot really hates me.

"I thank you for the honor shown to me but I must politely decline your kind invitation as I am already foresworn. A hellknight must hold to the oath made and not break its sacred trust. While my patron may not see eye to eye on things beyond my ken but I can aid where it does not imfringe on my oaths or be against them." Alden bows as he finishes his speech.

As they are dismissed, Alden turns to the man.
"Tempting as it is. Oaths sworn are Oaths to be kept lest we might end like the unfortunate knights caught in a cycle of betrayal. Our lord is powerful and it'll take more then the Queen of Dis to match a fraction of his might."

"Then Milady Zarta, allow us to finish this business with Rowane. It would be ill of us to dispatch an oathbreaker and be one ourselves." Alden makes his request directly to Zarta.

"My thanks Nella for that timely reminder." he gives a formal bow to the cleric.

A few minutes after you finish interacting with Kirash, the imp returns and escorts you to the norn Rowane. Artylyget and Tholvinus preen and gain a jaunty step in their stride, enjoying their vicarious status as honored guests of a senior handmaiden of the Queen of Dis.

Wide corridors through darkly beautiful foliage wander far enough from the iron streets of the city to be insulated from the omnipresent noise and heat. The journey concludes at a three-tiered gallery displaying armor, weapons, relics, and framed woven swatches, all built around a wide-branched blackwood tree with leaves of gold. A black-haired woman standing 14 feet in height looks away from a skein of thread and rises in greeting, gesturing toward seats around an intricately carved oaken table.

"Welcome to Eleusys, travelers. Take respite and refreshment as guests in the home of my queen, Erecura. I, Rowane, greet you in her name."

The norn asks each Pathfinder’s name in turn and offers food and drink.

"My queen knows of your investigation and wishes to take up the matter. Leventi made certain promises in Hell’s name, the details known to him alone. She asks that you retrieve his personal records—should your investigation prove successful—so that she can see his obligations fulfilled and no one else suffers for his alleged mistakes."

"For my companions you have struck down! For those you have cheated of their rightful dues."

I'm fine to wait. This is a thrilling conclusion and I want to see if Alden visits the floor again.

Alden rushes the contract devil moving with magically hasted speed but even with that, he's only able to just reach him.

"Prepare yourself." he intones.

Alden nods as he steps through, wounds and all.
"We'll have to chance it. We can't give him time to recover. After all Obtrivi there scares him."

Alden's breathing is labored as he once more forces his way through flying parchment and his wounds worsens.

"I'll much appreciate some healing and while it may seem a good idea, Spitting up may not work to our favor. We too won't be able to communicate with each other." Alden points out.

"I have wands of healing if it helps."

Alden weathers everything and the smoke clears with parts of his armor glowing red and yet he advances.....

His goal was clear. Striking the devil down was the all important goal.

Unfortunately....maybe one or two members are zealots so his proposal backfired spectacularly.....

I'm curious though.. Was that written in the scenario?

"have you forgotten whom we are dealing with? He says he could be persuaded to grant a wish. Have you forgotten not too long ago all those souls he had obtained and used? His attempts to have us killed with mere sophistry which was foiled only by stalwarts like yourselves?" he indicates Ciri and Erlathan.

"My Lord rules over all denizens of hell. Why would I want to see it weakened?"

"We have found evidence of his duplicity and even now he tries to work his charm on us!" he brings out his flail.

"No more I say. I am with Obtrivi here. He should face our steel and he must be desperate for why would he attempt to send us against a mere osyluth as he claims? He could have easily dispatched of him as he infers." he pauses.

Nay my friends, if you accept his terms, I Alden Darkcrown Thelas will not accept this and if I must do battle against him alone.........." he brandishes his flail proudly.

"Then I shall..."

Player wise. That is tempting indeed and accepting the wish is both lawful and evil.

However....Alden is likely to risk death in refusing.

"You did almost everything by bending the law as much as you can. Your gains mock the very laws that you're suppose to follow. You enslaved hellknights that were not yours to enslave. You have much to pay." Alden Growls.

"Who knows if this sale of yours is gotten lawfully or via other means.:

"Grant me the power of flight. I shall have no complaints on that." Alden grumbles..

Alden returns the Longbow to its rightful owner and joins the rest muttering darkly to himself....eavesdropping on him reveals the man intends to either buy out a shop of its fly potions. get a flying mount or purchase an aid to flying.......

Alden strides over to the dropped longbow and checks his quiver, stuffing his weapon's haft in his belt.
"I can and shall but tell me if there's something that I can destroy if it's an illusion powered by something!" there is a hint of anger and shame in his voice.......

Having no ability to fly, Alden realises with dawning horror that his honor was being smirched because he couldn't fly.

It was an insult beyond anything he could endure.......He had to resolve this somehow......but he couldn't.

Alden can only look in envy at the midair combat taking place above him..

"I can wait for you to bring him down!" he calls back.
Sounding perhaps a little hopeful........too hopeful maybe..........

"Or is the big bad devil afraid of facing one who champions a lord of hell!" he attempts to provoke the devil.

GM Alden has the Ring of the Sublime equipped.
This ornate gold ring is set with a single round sapphire and platinum stems. When worn, the ring of the sublime protects its wearer from fear effects as if constantly under the effects of remove fear. Wearers of rings of the sublime in Taldor often believe the ring’s ability to combat fear also removes social anxiety, making the wearer a more confident and self-assured member of high society.

He takes the items from the hidden compartment.
"Evidence we can use and let others more learned identify their uses."

"Honored one, We have turned up various evidences implicating Leventi in several Law Breaking matters. Such has also drawn..." He shows the pin affixed to his tabard.
"Others of interest to look into the matter as well. Gellius Throne Contract which is in your possession is also likely one of Leventi's machinations and likely Unlawful as well. In the interest of our current patrons, hell and one I served, we require your assistance in allowing us to review said contract."

Alden attempts to look through for more evidence that those hellknights he's met are innocent of the verdict but doesn't get very far.....

"We go to bring a miscreant to justice and you all have suffered enough." Alden looms in his armor, its darkened highlights catching the glow of his surroundings enhancing the already menacing effect of his armor.

"Go meet your friends as you wish but know that for this, joining the society to redeem yourselves would be a good start. In this I''m sure my companions will be willing to acccept such a compromise, wouldn't you agree my Lord Alexander and Milady Zarta."

"We have someone I"m eager to meet and I would appreciate we be on our way now. Afterall.........." Alden pauses as he shakes out his flail.

"Someone has taken all these trouble to waylay us at every turn." his grip tightens.

"We mustn't keep our expected host waiting."

"Teena Forester. Hellknight of the Order of the Pike. I am Alden Darkcrown Thelas of the Hellknight of the Order of the Crown. Recognized Representative Armiger of the Pathfinder Society and Order of the Gate. I call upon you to remember your oath and stand down!" he brandishes the Order of the Pike insignia taking no care to show any attempt to defend himself.

"Your companions has being freed from unlawful imprisonment, your oath found to be given unlawfully to one who has deceived you. As such for the honor of the Order that you represent, Stand down!" his voice thunders once more down the streets.

"There is no Honor in continuing this battle. Especially one which tarnishes your very oath and order to do so. Stand down and submit to the law. Receive fair trial and redeem yourself." he pauses to let her absorb his words.

"Stand with us to see that the law is served and the guilty punished." he ends his speech as he looks to see her reaction. Should she resist, then it shall be by his flail she falls. The oath demands its.

"Aye. The more evidence we can gather, the sooner this Leventi can be made to feel the full force of the law for his actions. Let us go meet this Ophelia and when we are done with her............" he pauses.

"Leventi is next."

Being in the home of a greater devil and one that has had requested their presence, Alden returns the greeting.
"I am Alden Darkcrown, myself and my companions have arrived at your behest."

Upon hearing her intentions, he laughs as he sees that once more Hell has not disappointed him.
"I see that this particular's devil deeds did not go unnoticed and since our goals aligned, we should have no objections to doing what you have requested. What's more it can only be more evidence against his many mistakes and willful persistence in making them. We already have uncovered evidence that points to that and are in the midst of our investigation to uncover more."

Alden watches understanding at least that his intrusion might make it far more worse if they were trying to wrangle fresh information from this man.

He had nothing against the Aspis. They were all around a well organised and lawful group of merchants except for a few blackhearts but those were spending some time pushing daises or some form of it.

Alden meets the rest as per normal though he seems to place his tabard more prominently then usual. Its symbol depicting his order seems more pronounced as if the proud Hellknight had spent extra time cleaning it.

"Aye. Meeting this Rowane may turn up extra evidence we can use against that Leventi, Law breaker, he maybe. I support this motion."

I'll like to explore as much as possible simply because Alden is a hellknight and we're in Hell!!!

It's a dream come true for Alden to actually be in hell. lol

"Indeed. My order would find fine use for one with your talents, Milady Nella. I understand if you have prior commitments though." Alden adds on.

"Now to find our objective and it's clear that this Leventi has gone against the nature of the Law if even the night hag is willing to help us."
