A masked elf walks in and announces in his loudest voice, ”Attention all you adventurers! The esteemed Venture-Captain Juberto Savarre requests the assistance of those brave enough to scout out his future home - the Dralkard Manor - to do some house cleaning … if you will. I warn you there might be ghosts, goblins, and those of a similar sort at play. As some of you might know the legend, the place is said to be haunted. Doubtful, at best. But if interested, report immediately.” This is 00-10 Blood at Dralkard Manor (Tier 3-4). You can sign up here.
You realize this scenario is retired, right? You can run it, but it would essentially be a home game, and not for credit.
The best way is to post conditional instructions, such as "Use misfortune if enemy X rolls a natural 20 on anyone in the party, or rolls 15 or higher on a save from the Wizard."
I'm potentially interested in running Weapon in the Rift after my current play-by-post of the Temple of Empyeral Enlightenment wraps (probably in a month or so). Is there interest for that?
"I would say the undead got the worst of it, Miss," replies Aksum, holstering his gun. He takes a look inside the carriage to see if there are any clues regarding where the zombies came from, or who they formerly were.
Aksum steps up and takes another shot at the zombie he'd injured.
Move action: Move to 20 feet away from Zombie 2.
Standard action: Shoot it
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 vs. Touch AC
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Aksum takes a shot at the nearest zombie when it bursts through, sending a slug of iron through the rotten flesh. He then backs up to reload his pistol.
Surprise round:
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 vs. Touch AC
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 B/P damage Normal round:
30 foot movement back, standard action to reload.
"The boulderman is right. If the creatures wanted the Lady dead, she would be here with the others. We can spare a few minutes to make sure we are as prepared as possible."
He holds his gun at the ready as Larma prepares to open the door.
Aksum raises his Everburning Torch in one hand, and his pistol in the other.
"I volunteer to recover the Lady. If anyone here knows the woods, or has the heart and weapons to face these creatures, I ask that they join me. We cannot afford to lose any time."
With that, he pushes his way through the door and into the street.
Aksum strides over to some nearby farmers when he hears mention of evil magic.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I overheard talk of fell forces upon this land. I knew of wicked ice magic in the frozen North, but could it have really spread so far?"
Aksum cuts into one of the potatoes as he eagerly devours the warm stew. After swallowing, he calls out. "Another ale, to ward off the chill of the night!"
I'll go ahead and submit this character, a Mwangi Spellslinger wizard I rolled up for another campaign. I could easily tweak his backstory to fit RotRL. What are you doing about HP and traits?
Posting with my Mwangi Spellslinger wizard. Details in the profile.
I made the following assumptions in building him. Let me know if I need to change something:
-Starting with Common plus a bonus language based on human ethnicity
-Max HP at first level
-Crafted starting ammunition and acid flasks, rather than purchasing at full price
Aksum cautiously steps out of the fog, and is taken aback by the chaos of the battle that has sprung up. He launches into a song to inspire his allies, while preparing his bow to assist in the attack.
Spoiler:
5-foot step forward out of the fog. Standard action to start Inspire Courage performance. Move action to draw bow.
Aksum hurries forward through the fog, eager to help his friends. He inches his way through the obscured path as fast as he can, hugging the mountain cliff on the right.
Double-move action, reaching the top-right corner of the block of fog.
Aksum plucks his krar and sings a short ballad, telling of their quest and what they had encountered so far. "We had hoped to seek news from your tribe, and advice and direction regarding our task."
Wow, that combat was really confusing. People were posting out of order, and while I waited for my turn to come up, Wareagle took my turn for me. Can we try to do it a little more structured next time?
