Shoot to survive in the Pathfinder One-Shot: Head-Shot the Rot!

Friday, October 15, 2021

Taking a much-needed relaxing break in between escapades, four gun-toting adventurers post up in a dingy bar in one of Alkenstar's entertainment districts. Right across the street at a theater, people flood inside to catch the premiere of a highly-advertised play, but what comes out of the theater is far more dangerous. As people scatter to safety in the dusty streets, its up to the group of gunslingers in the bar to set things right.

This short Pathfinder Second Edition adventure written by Michael Sayre is intended to be completed in a single session and includes four pregenerated 3rd-level gunslinger characters who make use of the exciting new equipment and rules found in Pathfinder Guns & Gears, and whose backstories and motivations tie closely to one another. This adventure can be easily incorporated into various virtual tabletops, run off of digital devices, or printed out and played at a table.

About the Pregenerated Characters

Pathfinder One-Shot: Head-Shot the Rot is designed to be played with the four pregenerated characters previewed below. Each comes with ready-to-play game statistics and backstories tied to one another. These four gunslingers are looking to make a name for themselves in the deadly Mana Wastes that surround the gritty city of Alkenstar. Despite their shared talent with their unusual weapons, each of them plays a unique role in the group, lending their skills to help the party achieve its goals and protect each other’s interests.

In addition to the standard abilities presented in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, these characters utilize abilities found in Pathfinder Guns & Gears. Rules from this secondary source are presented for your convenience in the Rules Index following each character entry. In addition, there is a quick reference for traits and common terms.

No, it’s not Jason. I’m planning a blog with more cast and GM details, headshots (the photo kind) and biographies.

when is the oneshot available in pdf?

Such a beautifully diverse cast!

Ohh... the Crash when looking to find the link to order it... and when I finally realized it said Unavailable. And then looking around to try to find out when it will be available. If I understand correctly, that will be the 27th.

Well, I will have to wait. Sounds like it would be fun, and especially good for a one-shot, letting players who might otherwise not think of firearms in their fantasy setting, give it a try without having to commit to creating a character on their own!

And it sounds like it could be a fun take on a pretty common genre.

I’m hoping Zindarel gives us a crumb of local elf lore. We known pretty much nothing about the non-Mualijae elves of Garund.

We are so happy to have her. As part of our first Troubles in Otari show, she and the rest of the cast have first right of refusal on additional shows. We wanted to develop a core of Paizo Players who were charismatic, diverse and the audience could watch them become more skilled in the Pathfinder rules over time. We've had a lot of fresh faces due to the limited availability of influencers and other factors. We are fortunate to have them.

I am intrigued.

It would be my first one to follow, cause not really into watching other people playing games, but I really like the 4 gunslingers idea.

Since they are lvl 3 I guess there would not be a chance to see gun weapons ( the first one is the drake rifle, which is a lvl 4 one ), would it?

I also wonder whether they will all be gunners or well'also see some crossbow user.

Good job there.

That's good to know! She is really good, as well as London Carlisle, Xander Jeanneret and Katie Wilson too!

I'm sad Xander couldn't be in that one, as I have *really* liked Ingot, and Xander's way of RPing is really close to my own preferences. :3
But I have yet to be disappointed with every new player either.

Gabe is in the original four, but he is super-busy now. Good on him.

Also super-busy. But this one-shot uses pregens anyway. Maybe Ingot can next be found in Geb, a la Book of the Dead? He was on the right continent...

Change of cast. Adam Conn for Matt Acevedo.

Adam Conn hails from the many corners of The DaT Network. Starting way back in the days of Walking in Circles Season 2, Conn has now stepped out as one of the new co-online content creators of the DaT Network. He appeared in past adventures as Kimbulton and Castriel on Dragons and Things, Mooktin in Rise of the Runtlords and Kanon Featherbee in Department of Mysteries. You can currently find him on Harbingers as the best local fisherman Hadrian (Hadi) Marth and over on Norse Foundry's Twitch stream in vods of Fenrir Rising as Nix and their current live show, Alien Connections as Sergeant Trenton Barclow. And premiering Nov 14th he will be in the GM seat for his Pathfinder show "Voyage of the Siren's Song", a pirate adventure set in the Skull and Shackles AP!

Looking forward to this almost as much as the Guns & Gears sanctioning. This one-shot is making me want to get a Gunslinger & Inventor into those society games even more!

As a player that often struggles with a good name, these four all seem to have got it going on.
