Kingdom Management screen: is this system-neutral? I already have Ultimate Campaign (and am planning on running Kingmaker with PF Classic) - will the screen support those rules, amend them, or be something entirely different? If there is a difference, will there be a conversion guide?

Flip-Mats (both the Noble Manor and the Campsite multi-packs): which previously-published flip-mats are part of these sets, and which parts are new? I have a number of flip-mats, and would be annoyed to find out that there was a lot of duplication between what I already owned and what I just bought.

Crowdfunding: how easy is it to change one's level of support? Add an add-on or remove one? Does this cause any difficulties with regard to one's chosen payment method?

Also: if I move in the time betweeen the end of the crowdfunding campaign and delivery, who should be notified and how easy is it to change my address information?

Hey Bellona,

The Kingdom Management screen will be 2E but shouldn't be any harder to use in 1E as the adventure and bestiary.

All the Flip-Mats in this campaign will have NEW ART (as in never used on a FM or MP before...some might be right from the pages of the adventures though) so no need to worry about duplicating already purchased FMs and MPs.

It's easy to change between pledge levels but if you are going down in levels, then you may need to contact our CS team for a refund.

Address changes should be simple to handle between when the campaign ends and when we ship. There will be complete instructions on Game On and on the Paizo.com FAQ on how to handle this.

Jeff, is the Poster Map Folio going to be new maps or just the same ones from the original? Just curious if I have it already or not.

Jeff,

I think Bellona is asking (and I am wondering the same) is can you use the Kindom Management screen without needing to convert. Although by you saying the screen is '2nd edition', it doesn't sound like that's the case.

I mean honestly, it's difficult to say right now just how hard it will be to use the 2e adventure book/how much converting is needed if you want to run 1e.

I'm hoping as little as possible. Would it be possible to have at least a 1e adventure book done if enough money is brought in? Maybe have it as an an add-on with a higher reward level unlock?

Currently I believe that the Poster Map Folio will be a reprint but there is a stretch goal that adds new content to it so let's hope we make it there.

Its really hard for us to definitively answer some of these questions because we won't know until we're tearing things apart and building them back up. The main focus of this crowdfunding is to bring Kingmaker to 2E, so most of the content is aimed at supporting 2E. We've added in the 1E and 5E Bestiaries to support those game systems (as fan requests) but the main system is still 2E.

Right now I'm thinking about going from Ruler 'down' to General and adding the Management screen and Poster Map Folio to that.

Like Zaister I don't much care for the Faux-leather.

I don't know what will be added to the Ruler for free after that and I might not care for that. If the Poster Map Folio is cheaper than $33, (which I think likely, as the art is already done, it's a simple reprint, and the Noble Manor Multipack with 4 sides is $20, so the Map Folio with 6 sides should be no more than $30) I'm even saving a bit.

The Poster Map Folio add on is at $18. So, unless something else pops up for free for rulers, I'm switching down to General.

Hey Franz, there's at least one more awesome freebee planned for the Ruler level that might help you reconsider dropping down.

Well, it helps.

But for now, the math works out to this:

(Ruler Level + shipping to Austria)
is one dollar more expensive than
(General level + Kingdom management screen + Poster Map Folio + Kingmaker Dice + shipping to Austria)

So, it very much depends on what that freebee is, and how much it costs as an add-on (and what the shipping adds up).
There has been some talk about a management-related add on. If it's like a Kingdom-character sheet folio, or such (a handful of pages to mark down the Kingdom stats, City buildings, territory improvements...) I might even pass.
(I'm pretty sure Chemlak or someone will build another automated excel-sheet or something that will help with that.)

FWIW, the Kingmaker Poster Map Folio isn't showing up as an add-on for me on any device (iphone, safari and chrome apps, or macbook pro, safari and chrome apps).

Since purchases of the Map Folio could help us reach further stretch goals, I hope this gets fixed soon!

(@Franz Lunzer: how are you getting the Map Folio to show up as an add-on?)

I did nothing special. I just see it listed as "Kingmaker Map Folio" for $18, in the Accessories-Section on the Add-On page [2]. I'm using Chrome on Windows though.

Windows 10 and Chrome here and it does not show in the add-on list for me. It shows as unlocked but I do not see it in the list or with a price. The vagaries of modern technology.

If you already backed the campaign, click on "Your Order" (top right, green-ish button), then on "2" (Add-ons, top left-ish, blue-ish button), then scroll down to the "Accessories" section.

Ah, interesting. When I go to modify my order, it does show up as an add-on possibility, just as in your picture. But it doesn't show up as one of the add-ons on the front page.

Probably worth fixing the front page, since it wouldn't have even occurred to me to try to add it to my order, given that it didn't show up on the front page...

Yay, we got to the map folio, ordered 3 extras in addition to the one my Spymaster pledge gets.

Not super excited about any of the upcoming stretch goals, hopefully we still burn though them and see some new things. The companions were fun in the CRPG, but I feel distracts from the party stories in a multi-player tabletop rpg, so most of those stretch goals are much less important to me. Campfire map pack likewise is feeling very redundant -- I have a large assortment of maps already, and can plop either a campfire map tile down on almost any of them, or use a few bits of 3d terrain. Oleg's fort, the varnhold fort would have been much more useful/reusable/distinct.

If Barony is more than folding Ultimate Campaign kingdom building updates into Chapter 2's verson, that could be cool. But if its just Ultimate Campaign's version that fees like it should have been included in the baseline.

I was all set to order the Marshal reward level plus add-ons ... when I realised two things. One, the Marshal level doesn't include the KM Companion Guide, and two, the Companion Guide is not available as an add-on (either as PDF or print editions).

Is the Companion Guide really supposed to be gated behind specific reward levels?

If "yes", then I find the system frustrating. I'm not into the extra frills of slipcases and faux leather special editions, I just want the standard books and PDFs, plus the add-ons that I want.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The "General" Level would be your best bet. It's just $20 more than "Marshal".
Yes, it has the slipcase included, but I think would the Companion Guide be 'sold' seperately, it would be at least $25, at it's current size of 48/64 pages (Tristian is close, hopefully growing even bigger).

@ Franz: yeah, I guess that that's the solution.

(Goes off grumbling about "unnecessary extra frills".)

When will the PDFs for "People of the River" and "Guide to the River Kingdoms" land in our Paizo digital assets?

(I'm assuming that our e-mail addresses are being used as the connecting links between Gameontabletop and Paizo.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Here's a thought about the Noble Manor Flip-Mat pack: put the two noble manor maps on two different flip-maps.

If the two maps are on the same flip-mat, then it becomes very awkward to run an on-going combat when the party is divided between floors. One ends up either flipping the map constantly (with associated delay) or drawing one of the maps anyway (which defeats the point of having a snazzy flip-map in the first place).

$5k to reach the next add-on: Tristian & his sidequests will be added to the "companion guide".

Suggestion: The banner ad on Paizo's front page could be a bit more informative. I had no idea what "Game On Tabletop" was when I first saw it, and I assumed at first it was only related to the computer game - so I almost missed out on this opportunity.

Mentioning that it is an Adventure Path Compilation right there on the banner ad might drive traffic from clueless* folks like me! :)

Not long after the campaign ends, you'll be sent an email with a unique redemption code. You'll go to a redemption page on paizo.com and enter that code, and the associated PDFs will be added to your digital content. (The email you use for Game On does *not* have to be the same as the email you use for your paizo.com account.)

What is the "Kingdom Tracker" supposed to be?

Is it a boardgame with little buildings?
Is it a special multi-page sheet?
Is it a magnet/sticker set?

I also think we will see the "Bandit Outpost Flip-mat classics" in late 2020 independant of the gameontabletop campaign.

Hey Marco, the description for it lives on the "Product Previews" tab and here's the text...

Running a kingdom is a complex task, what with the monsters eating your peasants and the supernatural spies creeping around in the shadows and the constant disasters that seem to loom at every tomorrow, but tracking your nation’s statistics couldn’t be easier with the Kingmaker Kingdom Tracker. Just as each player character gets their own character sheet, so too does their kingdom in this 16-page folio, with plenty of room to track each and every settlement your PCs establish or conquer. In addition, the Kingmaker Kingdom Tracker comes with a loose double-sided sheet with a coated surface that can handle any dry erase, wet erase, or permanent marker, suitable for tracking building placements within your kingdom’s capital city!

Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

So basically what a character folio is to a regular character sheet, this is the more in depth version of the kingdom & settlement sheets from Kingmaker Chapter 2/Ultimate Campaign?

I'm not sure a deeper treatment (what a 16-page folio implies to me) is useful. People were asking for tools ot streamline, especially when you get into the larger kingdoms with multiple settlements. This sounds like it doubling down on more detailed bookkeeping.

I'm also a little worried about the 'tracking building placement', you need that for more than one city at a time, and the capital city often ends up needing multiple settlement grids

This is definitely an area of Kingmaker that needs some innovation/improvement for larger kingdoms, but I'm not sure that description indicates its targeting the common problems we hear about.

Dark Archive

1,300 backers surpassed.

Only $8,6k to reach the hardcover "barony" 608 page increase add-on.

I can say for sure now that the hardcover add-ons are reached much faster than the companion guide add-ons, which seem to be the slowest reached add-ons.

I wish those would be left out, personally as companions only slow down actual play and sidequests distract from the main campaign.
This is different in pen & paper than in a computer game.

On the other hand, the companions could add to the "sandbox" feel of the AP.

There was a definite acceleration in pledging yesterday. I think this was because Owlcat sent out an update on their own KS project pointing to this one.

As for the companions, I'm all for them including sidequests. After all, what is a sandbox, if not a large pile of sidequests for players to choose from? Even if not used for such purposes, the companions provide color and depth to the Kingmaker world, which is always welcome.

Wish there was an option at the Ruler level to just receive the standard book instead of the faux leather.

So how do you choose add-ons after you've purchased your original reward level?

I went with the General (may go with Ruler, depending on what it ends up getting), but I do want to add on the Noble Manor flip-mat right now. I already paid for my reward level the other day and now trying to add the Noble Manor flip-mat but it won't allow me to do so.

Hm, did go into ‘My Order’, but didn’t go through ‘My Account’, first. I guess that makes a difference. Thank you.

Does anyone know if anything else that may unlock will be included as part of the Ruler reward?

Reason being if there is going to be other things included as part of the Ruler reward, I will just go ahead and upgrade to it now. But if not, it’s actually cheaper to not get the Ruler reward, even with the Kingdom Management screen and map folio add-ons. (Unless you view the faux leather as a bonus).

They haven't listed anything else yet. But I would have assumed the Kingdom Tracker bit at the 325k stretch goal would have been included. However the other ones mentioned "Included in Ruler Level" and it doesn't.

Going from their pattern I think we expect the 350k stretch to be a 16 page main book increase. the 375k another map pack and the 400k another companion. So I don't see another Ruler add-on being announced soon. (But the pattern is fairly weak, so they might change it around)

One side of this Flip-Mat Multi-Pack depicts a wilderness campsite, while another features the Thorn Ford bandit camp. With PaizoCon beginning next week and UK Games Expo the week after, Paizo and Game On Tabletop have decided to extend the campaign through those events to allow more time to unlock greater value for backers—and to give everyone more time. The campaign will now end at midnight Pacific on June 4th.
