Not being familiar with the AP, can anyone give a non-spoilery description of what Rasputin does when he's not fighting the PCs? Obviously, based on history, he does a lot of healing and manipulating Russian nobility. But what else is he up to behind the scenes?
Acquiring Power—political, magical, spiritual.
By any means necessary.captain yesterday |

And giving me a hard-core cardio workout on Just Dance, of course.

What exactly constitutes "cover credit" on a hardcover RPG book (since so few of them actually list the designers/writers on the cover)?
I'm listed in the "writing and additional design" credits on the new FFG Force and Destiny core book, does that rule me out? It's my only RPG design credit on a released product thus far.

"Cover credit" means: Is your name on the cover of the book? If it's not (and you meet the rest of the criteria), you can enter.

I have to say, the stitched soul ability is awesome. Who ever came up with that must have been cackling all day after writing it up.
All day? Hell, I still chuckle every time I think of the looks of despair on the faces of PCs, once smug in their falsely-assumed victories, when Rasputin returns to life. It's what I wake up for in the morning! ;-)

Hmmm. I'm uncertain between two.
Do you think astral spells are very important for him? Also, does he actually worship some deity?
There's no indication that Rasputin follows a specific deity. As a oracle, he doesn't need to.
In my mythic RoW game, I made him a champion of the Horseman of War. (As in, Szuriel was the source of his magic and actively backing him.)
(I also gave him divine source and made him the Anti-Christ, but that's a different can of worms.)
Pathfinder's Rasputin's a very, very blasphemous man by the time the PCs run into him.
He may have been faithful once, but now?
Statues of saints weep blood at his presence.
Man, this contest might actually make me learn the Occult classes =P

I've been wondering how some of the spells Rasputin has won't be a TPK for many parties...

Perhaps though the party would have to pick the right resistance ahead of time... and even at high levels that's only so many points...
the damage output on that spell is pretty high (average of 90 I think - so won't kill everyone but will definitely sting - and that's average could be higher). Actually given the party's likely level (14 or possibly 15) Blasphemy would likely leave most of the party paralyzed for at least one round, weakened and dazed. Plus would banish any extraplanar creatures for 24hrs (eidolons, some familiars etc). Lots of really nasty possibilities with an 18th level caster.
Looking at the current spell list I can see any number of ways for a TPK...

Do we have to assume that he's in the same location as in the AP? He has some circumstance bonuses from being near *********. Are they preserved?
Also, what about his equipment? The Cassock of the Black Monk is supposed to be used by an oracle, which he isn't going to be. Do we have to just refund it to buy other equipment or we should build a new magic item?
Last question: archetypes are allowed?

I have two headscratchers about this.
Do we use a regular 15-point-buy for his stats (CR = character level -1), a 20-point-buy (CR = character level), or what? Because I cannot match his ability scores with any common generation method. At best I get a 26-point-buy. Unless I am missing a major boost source for Con or Cha.
The second issue is gear. By-the-book 96,000 for level 18 NPC? Ol' Ras above has about 115,000 worth.

I'm going to say "yes."

Refund and buy new relevant equipment.
Last question: archetypes are allowed?
Sure!

"As long as his CR meets 17" is my ruling.

Available money is equal to the value of his equipment in his original stat block.
