For GenCon, should volunteers plan on arriving Wednesday night? I ask from an airline reservations point-of-view. Basically, if I fly into Indy the day before the convention officially gets underway, will there be a room to check into at the hotel already? I'm guessing yes. But I don't want to lock-in an airline reservation unless I'm sure.

Show up on Wednesday and you should be fine. Give you time to unwind before the fun begins. :D

you would think so, last year after a very long flight in from Germany, as soon as I got there I ended up at the get together then went out drinking with a bunch of you guys ;). This year I am only flying in from San Antonio, Woot!

Hey Josh have you come up with ideas on how we are going to be doing the updates for advanced players guide characters from the playtest? Good chance that most the GMs and players will not have the book yet for the Con.

Bella Sara is easily the deadliest, most addictive, tainted rpg collectible card game out there.
Ahha, that's why I've never heard of it. Not much into card games that don't involve poker chips.
You get to share a room paid for by Paizo with three other people.
Wow, not a bad deal at all. I guess depends on the size of the room, but still...The Marriot is one of the hotels right across the street from the center right? Going to have to plan on doing this next year.

Updated volunteer needs as of yesterday! Still need volunteers for both shows!
For Gen Con specifically, I need two female Tier 1 GMs as I currently have a room with 2 and have space for two more in that room. If you know any female Pathfinder Society fans headed to Gen Con or wishing they could, let me know! I've got a room for them if they'll GM eight slots. :-)

BTW Josh, I won't need my room slot. The Mrs. will be accompanying me so we'll be getting our own room.

Gah!!
Just looking over the draft schedule for GenCon. Just got a happy notice in my e-mail about GM badges.
Who's dumb idea was it to put all these months in between now and August 4th!?
How am I supposed to make it that long?
Don't think of it as waiting, think of it as planning and scheming...punctuated with rubbing your palms together and giggling like a madman.

Managing over 100 volunteers means I can't take requests. :-(
Quote:Keep in mind that you're volunteering for a slot, not a specific event. I'll assign people to events inside the slot they've volunteered for and I won't take requests.
How soon until we know what we are running? I bought some PFS event tickets, but If I am running one of the events I bought, would like to get into an event that I am not running before it is sold out!.
I know you're busy Josh, but last year by the time we got our schedule all the events I could go to where sold out (Though I did get lucky on Generics), I would love for that not to happen again this year.

How soon until we know what we are running?
Soon-ish, I hope. I haven't filled all of the GM seats yet, but I might send out my selections before I fill all of the GM seats.
Please keep in mind that I'm nearly 5 weeks ahead of where I was last year, so I've planned for the fact that I wrapped the schedule rather late last year and hope to have everything to you guys much sooner than last year.

I'm going to try hard not to be a pest, but how far behind are you on processing GM requests? I sent one over the weekend for one additional slot and I'm hoping it didn't get lost out somewhere in the matrix.
I too like Dragonmoon may need to swap out events, but there still seem to be plenty of seats open, so I'm hardly worried.

Volunteer slots updated for both shows! Paizo Con volunteer slots are nearly full, Gen Con still has a few openings!
I have (1) more spot open for male Tier 1 GMs for Gen Con and (2) two more spots open for female Tier 1 GMs for Gen Con.
Hey Josh,
I sent a reply to your latest email about judging. Thanks!

I desperately need additional GMs for both Gen Con and Paizo Con. I need 1-6 GMs for every slot at Paizo Con. I need GMs for every slot of Gen Con.
For Paizo Con, I'm now dropping the 2-slot requirement to volunteer for Pathfinder Society. If you want to volunteer for 1 slot, you won't get any rewards for doing so, but you may volunteer for 1 slot.
If you've got space in your schedule at Paizo Con, please pick up a Pathfinder Society GM slot! :-)

Josh I sent you an email. Please consider me available for all slots at both events. Nevermind my official schedule, PFS is priority 1.
I wasn't planning on attending GenCon unless I could run PFS til my eyes bled. Please contact me asap.

That's dedication!
Or insanity! I've been traveling so much for work lately, I haven't gotten a chance to GM for a few months, and I've got a big itch to scratch.
Not sure about not having a room available for Indy though. Josh, is the problem no $ for a T1 GM, or no physical room?
How's Talisman been Yoda?

While you are at it, try to get some more "Classics" DMs signed up, I was really looking forward to getting in one but they were gone fast!
I had 1 table each slot and do not plan to extend that. This is a test this year to see if those work well since I'm basically asking that GM to run something he may not have ever even read. :-)

I have Tier 1 slots available, but I no longer have Tier 1 slots that include a hotel room for male GMs. I have 2 Tier 1 slots remaining for female GMs that include part of a hotel room.

Would you say that since every session of this is full, and the rest of the Pathfinder slots aren't yet, this experiment would be successful?

I did that last year at Gen Con when the table was ineligible to run the scenario they signed up for. They were all friends so we found a different scenario they could run but I hadn't seen it yet. We all found out what would happen at the same time!

Going over my GM slots vs. our pre-sale information, I'm desperately in need of GMs in the following slots:
1: 3 GMs
5: 4 GMs
8: 3 GMs
If you know anyone attending Gen Con who can grab 1 or 2 slots to help out, that would be great. If you have already volunteered for slots and can grab 1 or 2 more, that would also be great.
Thanks!
