Have You Seen Me?

Monday, March 31, 2014

The Grand Lodge has been positively humming with rumors that some of the Society’s infamous rivals are once again on the loose. Initiates have busied themselves printing fliers to alert agents that danger is afoot. Can you identify any of the faces in this rogues gallery?

The Year of the Demon continues with Pathfinder Society Scenario #5—16: Destiny of the Sands, Part 3: Sanctum of the Sages and Pathfinder Society Scenario #5—17: Fate of the Fiend. But will the return of familiar faces from the past help the Pathfinders, or do these personalities portend difficult challenges ahead?

Happy gaming

Spoiler:
Is that Nefti and Kafar on the right?

Scarab Sages 4/5

Spoiler:
That's what I'm guessing too. And I'm assuming the woman is Pasha Muhlia. I can't figure out who the Hellknight (?) is.

@Gm Lamplighter, yes.

Maybe reading too much into them, but I got a 'more than friends' vibe from them, which was kind of disturbing.*

Spoiler:
From The Devil We Know, I imagined Nefti being like 13-17 years old.

Excellent. (Rubs his hands together)

I think we need a deck of PFS face cards.

Spoiler:
I was assuming the guy on the left was Damian Blakros, though I dont think Im right with that guess.
As for the other two males, I appreciate how you could now have a new character play through DWK 1-4, and then DotS 1-3 right in a row. Seems fitting to me.

uh no idea
which reinforces that this whole Destiny of the Sands arc is just not for me

Young + 4 years = still young.

I don't recognize any of them, but I presume...

Spoiler:
That the hellknight type is the one that had the Paracountess imprisoned. May his good name be ever praised yet unspoken on our lips.

I try to block out anything to do with The Devil You Know series.

Edit:
Terek: that's what I thought.
Doug: who?... (ah - thanks!)

I think he's talking about the relative age difference between the two, which wouldn't really change in four years.

Fury of the Fiend. Primo Ambusta (LE male human cleric of Asmodeus 7/Hellknight 1) Ambusta is a scarred bear of a man, clearly adorned with the symbols of his patron deity—Asmodeus.

I remember every detail of the faces of EVERONE I have ever done damage to! (...Well, other than when I'm working at my day job, and then they are paying me to hurt them... but anyway...)

I look at that face often, every time I look in the mirror!

11th level bard - only damage she's ever done is to herself - twice from Confusion effects)

I'd go so far as to request a set of Pathfinder Battles pre-painted miniatures too.

Spoiler:
I could see the Hellknight maybe being Lictor Boneclaw DiVri, as he's described as having a scarred face as well, but he wasnt exactly an enemy of the Society. Keeping it in the "of the Fiend" series would make sense.

zefig:

Spoiler:
I considered him as well, but I went with the longshot. I'll also suggest that the female pictured is Talia, the traitorous Pathfinder turned Aspis Consortium agent from Fingerprints of the Fiend. This is also a stretch, but it'll be all-the-more amazing if I am right.

Problem is [some/many?] of the faces already are on cards. I know at least a couple Venture Captains (perhaps all the ones in Seekers of Secrets?)

Dark Archive

That guy was supposed to be an enemy in that adventure? I just talked to him and he very orderly let us do what we wanted. I guess privledge comes with rank...

That makes it creepier though. In a Woody Allen, Soon Yi kind of way...

Yes, that would be totally rad. I've printed out a few photos of the VCs, which has been pretty helpful.

Speculation on identity:

If those two on the right are Nefti and Kafar then I'm gonna flip out. I remember being super mad (and my players being super mad ;) when they pulled the rug out from under the party!

@Mazlith- you know you're gonna need to run that for us if it's true!

Grand Lodge 4/5

I've never met the two on the left, but I know all about the two on the right.

5/5

I just have to say, I see three across (abc: scar, dark/sly, innocent), and one below (d: turban) {letters from the image file names}, not two left two right.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

the answer to the op's question is a yes. In that order.

Ever since I heard the rumours, I have had a first-level PC in waiting, to run through the Devil We Know series (I'm only ever GM'd it). Can't wait to be able to face all of those storylines in-character!

The Exchange 5/5

When will the answers be revealed? When someone guesses the last identity?

Paizo Employee 4/5 Developer

Their identities are spoiler-ed below. If you'd prefer to meet these wonderful NPCs in person, see the second spoiler to see where they're showing up this season.

Who are these guys?:
From left to right, they are:

Paralictor Primo Ambusta (Hellknight who appeared in #2–10: Fury of the Fiend)

Marianix Karn (Chelish archaeologist who appeared in #2–10: Fury of the Fiend)

Nefti (Chelaxian youth who first appeared in #29: The Devil We Know, Part 1: Shipyard Rats)

Kafar (Kelishite agent of the Aspis Consortium who first appeared in #29: The Devil We Know, Part 1: Shipyard Rats)

Where are they now? (minor spoilers):
The first two pictured return in #5–17: Fate of the Fiend.

The second two pictured return in #5–16: Destiny of the Sands, Part 3: Sanctum of the Sages.

Old wounds indeed, when I ran Part three, <redacted> went from full to -36 in two rounds. Needless to say, there was much rejoycing.

Luckily for them my character had not participated in that debacle and was much less hostile than I was.

This is so cool! Maybe I'm biased as I've written about all four of these NPCs at one time or another!
