I am sorry, I am blanking on "Vanessa" outside of a "bell-ring" too vague to place in- or out-of- game.

Yes, Lady Vanessa Reisende - a very fun character to play with! ;-) And she'd fit the theme very well, I think.
Here are a few of her posts: Example #1, Example #2, Example #3

OH, yes, we had like 3 things to talk about at once, I'd forgotten that one despite my bringing it up!
Anyway, EXTREMELY sorry for leaving you high and dry again; this was not the best week for me.
@Walks with Giants: I just noticed those slashed-out repeats of your defensive stats; what are those for?
Walks with Giants

Those are unmodified or unused values so I remember what the base is. Since I have no heroism or anything up they are really pointless at this time. Just force of habit. But if I were to cast heroism, for example, the fort/Ref/Will would show as +4/+5/+8 +2/3/6.
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Oh, well that makes sense (I keep track of my characters' base stats by just leaving them on the "character sheet" portion). Would you object terribly to removing them for the time being? They kind of bug me somehow.

Sure, I can do that. In fact, done.

That ball is now impaled on a leafblade, slowly deflating... ;-)

As stated many times, I am very sorry for the mollassian pace of this.
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Again, I apologize for being so slow to get back around to you, but this time, I also THANK YOU for being so patient and understanding yourselves.
I've had several things going on right now, and the fact another player and I in a couple of other games seem to have just sparked some sort of personality-conflict hasn't exactly been good for morale either.

I was just thinking: A Necromancer of some sort could make this adventure very interesting...!

Sorry; it's been another less-easy week for me.

I hope next week will be better for you. :-/

I hope next week will be better for you. :-/
When I say "less easy", I don't necessarily mean in a "feel-bad" way (though it's not like there's been none of that), but also just busier/more complicated than normal. I meant "less easy" literally, not euphemistically.

I'm not a native English speaker, so I hope my use of "better" was still gramatically correct.
Anyway, I still wish you a better time next week, in whatever context! ;-)

It's an incredibly broad term (one almost may as well say "up" or "plus"), so yes. Keep in mind you're talking about a language that is not only of Frankenstein-esque composition to begin with, but also is mostly spoken by people who suck at doing so to start with, and currently seems to be dead-set on devouring itself alive.
Try to learn Chinese and/or Russian, is my advice; I just wish I were better at learning languages. Spanish and Arabic aren't bad investments, either, I suppose - and trust me, I don't know if Latin and Classical Greek get as little respect in Austria as they do in the Anglophone world, but anyone who thinks "dead"/static languages aren't worth learning is a fool! Etymology is one of the most valuable things I ever learned (someone at a live Pathfinder table I once sat at once mentioned to others that I have "real-life Linguistics ranks"!).

"Used to be"??? What happened? I didn't know that was something you could lose....

lack of use..I haven't spoken much french at all i the last twenty years...my french right now is horrible...i can read it fine, but if i tried to have a conversation, i'd struggle...especially if the other speaker is talking fast. i could get by if you drop me off in the middle of Montreal or Paris...

...Port-au-Prince, maybe not so much, huh?

Sorry; it's been another less-easy week for me.
I get the feeling that this week wasn't very easy for you either... :-( *hugs*
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
True enough, unfortunately, BUT ALSO I was kind of under the impression that I was still waiting for more of you to chime in.
EDIT: Don't get too schmalzy on me, though: I went with the term "less easy" for a reason, e.g. the reason I didn't post yesterday was for not worse reason than that I was out of town all day making purchases for 3 other people's birthdays!
i could likely get by there...
Incidentally, this was more meant as a dubious-taste joke about the relative state of that place.

I'm sorry - it seems that I'm unable to connect the dots in this situation. That's a little embarrassing, as I've already played this scenario once years ago... :-/
Let's list what we know - maybe someone else can make sense of this:
- There's a wanted killer named Cladara who is head of the Ghostknives - a new secret organization of assassins. Their hideout is in the city sewers - Timinic found it, a byproduct of mapping the sewers.
- The Arcane Amplex is the substance that created the white foam that hardened and finally killed the VC and the dwarf. (Ramyla died of the initial poison - see below).
- We were able to figure out the character of the initial poison: Dark reaver powder laced with aconite root and several other adulterants to enhance its potency; this was an intricate and customized recipe that is not available on the market.
Aconite root in particular is known for its association with Daggermark’s Poisoner’s Guild.
- Ramyla had a purse containing quite a lot of gold. Did she take a bribe? Maybe from Ilchok? The shapeshifter's purse was nearly empty - that could be the reason why they returned to the distillery.
- According to Pemak, in addition to the Arcane Amplex a few other things were stolen from her as well.
- When Pemak paused her statement about the robbery, it was because she saw something (or something missing) on her top-shelf (see spoiler).
- Rosla asked about it ("Why did you pause when you looked at the top shelf? Did you notice something unexpected on it? Is something else missing - or was something returned that might implicated you as the poisoner?") but no answer so far.
- Pemak is the last name on the list. Looks like the final murder that will tie up all loose ends after eliminating Timinic.

Thanks for the summary. I am at a loss as to where the go from here too.
Rosla el Func
|
Well, we could always use Timinic's maps and knowledge to go full murderhobo and attack/kill Cladara and her Ghostknives in the sewers.
Might be the final encounter of the scenario, anyway...
But I hope we can get some more information from Pemak. Maybe she answers my questions soon-ish?

Anyone else got an idea?
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Part of the delay on my end (in addition to external impediments/distractions) has been that this particular scene is much more complicated than it appears from where you're sitting; my wanting to make sure I get it right while being fair to you in doing so appears to have helped short the game out entirely.
I'll see if I can't get a move-on.
Rosla el Func
|
Cara? You have any ideas?
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
Hmm, are we waiting on me, or on Rosla at this moment?
Once again, all of your patience is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated in any case.
| I'm DMing In Your Closet |
OK, I've allowed this all to take WAY too long; it is chiefly my own fault, of course. This encounter is important, but I will need to cut it short and move on if you can't make anymore progress with it sooner; it seems like Rosla's the one with an idea.
My question to the 3 of you, therefore: How much longer should we wait for Rosla?
Her player's most recent post appears to have been on the 11th, which of course is concerning in its own right.
I shall try an off-site E-mail.

Posted, though I have no idea if it will help.
Just for information:
Rosla has terrible Charisma, so she is bad with face skills. Can someone else make the Diplomacy/Intimidate rolls, if we need them?

Nothing special here, just a +5. So not a face, but not a hindrance either.

So you're back! Great! Please allow me a bit more time, things have gotten extra-busy over here recently.
