"We should search this room. Perhaps by catching him unaware, and with his hurried escape, The Rahib left some clue behind. We should keep watch for that panther, too." suggested Egspen.

Always. Be. Pushing.

The birdman agreed, and the heroes carefully studied the rooms contents, discovering notes of one of Whitestave's ciphers - something involving wine bottles and their coded labels.

A further search revealed studies on a mystical artifact - an ornate medallion of silver with a dark jewelled center.

The searches also discovered a second secret door built into the far fireplace - though where it led remained a mystery.

Always. Be. Pushing.

"He is wounded with one panther slain and another in the wind. This is our best chance to finish the evil of the Rahib. What should we do?" Redclaw Squawked.

"We must follow him. Though the secret passageway is blocked perhaps this far fireplace leads to his location. A rat doesn't rely on just one hole." said Albur.

The party will examine their treasures on the way through the fireplace. Perhaps the medallion is paired with the ring?

Always. Be. Pushing.

Renewed study revealed the ring to actually be two - a silver band and a golden one bound together with a thin divider of dark wood. Worn runes too faint for human eyes marked the central band.

Armolas and Redclaw worked together to force the mechanism of the fireplace open - aware of the minutes passing as they shoved and pulled. At last it shifted enough for the companions to squeeze through into a torch-lit hallway beyond.

A torn scrap of the Rahib's dark robe spoke of his flight forward while a few drops of blood hinted he had fled in the other direction.

What do you do?

The runes may be too faint for the eyes of a human, but I travel with an elf and a bird-man. Perhaps their eyes may be of use thought Egspen.

"Ho! Armolas! There is faint script on this ring that I cannot read. Do you or Redclaw see what it may say, or the shapes of the script?"

Always. Be. Pushing.

The elf studied the ring carefully. "The runes are old indeed but their meaning is clear enough. In the ancient tongue of the Woldenvell, they say. "By Moonlight's Silver and Sun's Purest Fire, bound by the ash of Islandroot's pyre. Fear not the touch of shadow or the kiss of fell flame, even the beasts serve when you utter my name."

The elf held out the ring.

"A potent talisman. Though it does not reveal it's name."

Does Egspen recognize any of the names mentioned in the script?

Welcome back, stranger

sorry. was on vacation.

Egspen knows the Woldenvell to be a group of four powerful nature spirits, one for each of the four main elements. Enemies of all that would disrupt the natural order of the life-death cycle.

The markings indicate the ring is attuned to The Red Lady, a figure associated with animal summoning and control. A drop of blood typically creates a bond between ring bearer and any natural beast - at least if the host is found worthy.

All good! I hope you guys had a good time!

"I thank you, Armolas. We may be able to turn the tide against The Rahib with this ring. It is attuned to The Red Lady. A drop of blood typically creates a bond between the ring bearer and a natural beast. Perhaps The Red Lady will see fit to free The Rahib's pet from his evil clutches." said Egspen.

"I can think of no better legend than that of an elf and the panther he freed from an evil spellcaster. Let us continue the chase."

Always. Be. Pushing.

Armolas nodded. "The wounded panther could not have wandered far with its injuries." The ranger knelt and inspected the floor. "This way!"

The elf led to the wall of the passage, the drops of blood leading to what must be a secret door. The ranger searched the panel, revealing it to simply pivot on a central spoke.

"Be ready with the ring. A wounded beast can be unpredictable."

He put his shoulder to the secret door.

What does Albur do?
