As of Tuesday the 25th, we only have two sign-ups for this adventure. I will leave it up to you if you wish to play it with two pre-gens (that you may control).

![]() |

Still a few days away -- but if we don't get a forth, start thinking about which pregen you would like to bring along (and also if you are up to running them for the group as well...)

![]() |

We have two rogues and a cleric? I say we get either a Barbarian or Champion so we have a front line, or commit to the bit and get the cleric pre-gen.
Since two of us are 4th level, would we qualify for having a level 3 pre-gen?

![]() |

Yes, you are currently at 6+6+2=14 CP, so after adding a level 3 pregen (per the guide), you would be at 18 CP and play high-tier (so Jozan would get a level bump).

![]() |

Sounds good to me. I haven't played any PFS2E before, so I'll be relying on everyone for more general knowledge.

![]() |

Well, I'm fine with about any choice. As long as we have some healing rogues should be able to handle frontline duty.

![]() |

Last minute sign up here. I've played this one before so I was waiting to give anyone new a chance to sign up. I have a level 4 bard.

![]() |

Alright we have four players now, so 6+6+6+2=20 challenge points. High tier and thus Jozan will get the following level bump:
LEVEL BUMP for Jozan
*Increase every DC the PC has by 1.
*Increase the attack modifiers, attack damage, spell damage, saving throw modifiers, skill modifiers, Perception modifiers, and AC of the PC by 1.
*Increase the total hit points of the PC by 10 or by 10%, whichever is higher.
The other characters may also be able to provide mentor boons to Jozan that may be add to or increase some of these bonuses. Feel free to discuss that here.
Also, let me know if any of you have GM glyphs for additional hero points...

![]() |

I have 3 glyphs.
Red Roy has both the Rugged Mentor boon and the Protective Mentor Boon. Protective Mentor gives you an addition 3 HP. (So 13 total). Rugged Mentor increases your Saving Thows by 2 instead of 1.
You can have up to 2 mentor boons at a time, so the other members of our party might additional option

![]() |

I have 1 glyph.
Zenobia might have enough reputation for some boons, but I haven't checked because it hasn't come up yet. She has been Dark Archive since her first chronicle.

![]() |

Great. Everyone will start with two hero points. They are shown next to your token in the handouts...

![]() |

Granting hero points to the two rogues for the ~first half~ of the adventure complete.

![]() |

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, I just don't feel like giving this thing what it wants will be good for the long term health of the school.

![]() |

To summarize what I'm seeing...
Zenobia and Bun Bun would pursue the homework route.
Red Roy wouldn't mind the subterfuge check to help the dimissal.
Jozan is unsure about the homework route, and would tend toward the dismissal route.
------------
If we go the dismissal route we would need a succesful Deception check from one of you (it could be aided by another of you). A failure on the check would let the creature know it was being tricked and could lead straight to combat.
Then someone else would need to do a Religion check to attempt the dismissal (could also be aided). If the Religion check succeeds, there would be another check after that but I'm keeping that close to the vest for now (no way for you to know what it is at this time).
--------------
If we go the homework route as a group, it will be a series of checks by everyone to gather enough knowledge points to "succeed".
--------------
Unless anyone else wishes to change tack, it looks like its up to Jozan to decide...

![]() |

Zenobia has a boon from Escaping the Grave that lets an ally to reroll a failed check that Zenobia aided. But we have lots of hero points, and I don't know if you can reroll twice the same check? The boon is a consumable fortune effect.
I don't have any other reason for homework than that sounds richest storywise.

![]() |

Since using a hero point to reroll is a fortune effect, it can't be used on the same roll that another fortune effect was used on.

PBB is intrigued by the homework and still wishes to see it through.

![]() |

If someone can provide a distraction for me, I'll go for the dismissal. Jozan is not exactly well versed in deceiving others...Otherwise, PBB and Zara can get started on the homework to feed that thing's ego.

![]() |

If you are going that route, it will start with a DC 21 Deception (Create a Diversion) check from someone (can be aided, too).
