Trutzburg slashes himself free of the web. There is no longer web in that square
Nor'scrik rushed into the room and, in his haste, gets caught up in the web for a moment before quickly remedying the situation.
Sana throws a guidance on Shard who claws at the web in front of him tearing apart the unusually tough webs. Damage (2 hits): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11
Fire Damage on the web: 1d6 ⇒ 5
The web continues to burn and starts to spread. I'll mark where the fire is spreading when I get in front of my computer tonight.
A now familiar mist of fog fills the room. obscuring mist

Map is updated. Red is on fire. Orange is catching on fire. Black is free of webbing (you can move in and out of these squares freely).
Room and Sana's square is filled with obscuring mist. You can't see past 5'. Anything you attack has concealment. The location of the spider on the map is the last known location of the spider.
@Trutzburg: Where do you move to attack the spider? From where you are at you can only see the web burning next to you, and Shard.
@Antikas: You cannot see your target, so magic missile will not work.

Nor'scrik thinks about his options again. Getting through the web seems like the only option so he moves past Shard and over next to the wall. He tried to find a safe spot int he web to attack the spider from.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
That looks good but i'm not sure if it passes or not. I'll do an attack in spoiler in case it is needed.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Nor'scrik and Trutburg move to where they last saw the spider, but have found, the spider is no longer in that spot. I'll treat Trutzburg's attack as a readied action.
The spider on the map was the last known location. It must have moved after casting.
Fire Damage to Web: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The mist seems to be slowing the fire down a bit.

Nor'scrik is a little worried about where the multi=legged enemy could be. His small creature instincts kick in and motivate him to make a hasty retreat and find something or someone big to hide behind.
Nor'scrik double moves back out of the room. I've put a line on the map to show his movement in case it triggers a spider attack.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Both Sana and Antikas cast spells.
The fire continues, burning out one of the webs and it continues to spread.
Fire Damage to Webs: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Stepping into view of Trutzburg is the spider. Your readied action to attack goes off.
The spider bites at Trutzburg, but his bite doesn't penetrate his armor.

Trutzburg 20% Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 66
Trutzburg, startled by the immediate presence of the spider swings and misses, but follows up with a more accurate attack, striking the spider solid on its back.
@Shard: From where you are at you cannot see the spider. Due to the Obscuring Mist, you only have 5 feet of visibility, and even that within 5 feet has some concealment (20% Miss Chance).

![]() |

Not sure what Nor'scrik can do right now that would actually be helpful. The webs, mist and fire make that room really dangerous for all of us.
Nor'scrik is worried for everyone's safety.
"Maybe you should come out of there? If you do maybe the spider will follow you."
Nor'scrik will delay until he can find something useful to do.

Shard backs out of the room and holds position at the doorway.
"Trutzberg! Get out of there!"
Ready action to attack the spider if it comes to the doorway. Same for Antikas.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Everyone seems to step out of the room to regroup, waiting for Trutzburg to follow suit.
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
The spider takes a bite at Trutzburg that catches nothing but armor and then quickly moves away into the mist. It's current location on the map is the direction you saw it go.

Qildar looks puzzled as he wonders why anyone would run into the burning web room. "We really need to work on communication if we want to survive this place," he thinks to himself.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Letting the web burn, and the obscuring mist run its course, you find the room empty of webs, and spiders or spider corpses.
A desiccated shriveled corpse lies on the floor, along with rusty swords, daggers, and axes which just previously clanged to the floor. A small coin purse lies on the floor in the corner.

Shard slowly walks with Trutzburg but keeps an eye out for danger.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

![]() |

Qildar carefully steps into the room, looking for the remains of the spider. He looks confused and concerned that he doesn't see any. "Where is it? I wasn't aware they could open doors. Be careful, it has to be here somewhere."
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
How high is the ceiling?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

The Ceiling is 20' high in most of the rooms (including this one) and 10' high in the hallways.
The group carefully reenters the room, looking around for any sign of the spider or anything else, but the room is void of any threats or webs. There's nothing of any use in this room. The room's only contents are those listed in my previous post.

![]() |

What corner is coin purse in?
Convinced that the spider has to be hiding in some trap door like the one in the hall, Qildar searches every area for traps as he slowly moves over to inspect the purse and then the doors.
Not sure how many checks that will require so you can roll as needed at +9 for traps.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Qildar takes a few minutes and searches the room for any trap doors or secret entrances and doesn't find anything. He then checks the coin purse and finds 23 copper pieces in it.
If you assume the trap door is 10 feet square, I think you could systematically search the room thoroughly in 5 minutes.

![]() |

Qildar shakes his head in disbelief. "I can't say either. There is either some passage near the ceiling that I can't see or it can open doors." He moves up to the door in the north wall, first checking if he hears anything behind it, then checking for traps.
Perception (listening): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Perception (traps): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 1 = 19
Assuming he finds nothing, he does the same at the south door.
Perception (listening): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Perception (traps): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18

![]() |

"I don't hear anything. Let's go this way," he says pointing to the north door. Waiting for everyone to get ready, he opens it to let Trutzberg enter.
