Qildar follows Nor'scrik and Sana into the hallway. He watches them start down the hall to the left. He is about to turn to search the other end of the hall when the floor drops out from under his companions and Sana disappears. "What the ... another trap. We need to be more careful in here," he thinks to himself as he moves up to the edge of the pit to see what happened to Sana.
Not sure if Nor'scrik's action re-opened the trap door or not. If it did, I'll cast Acid Splash at spider. If not, I'll ready it for when I can see it.
Acid Splash(touch): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
He reminds the group what he knows about these types of spiders.
Special Attacks: Strength draining poison from bite attacks, and it has a web attack.
Spell-Like Abilities: Obscuring Mist 3/day, Gaseous Form 1/day

Antikas moves forward and tries to use the wand again.
Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
And off goes a magic missile from his want. The energy formed like a bee flying straight for the spider.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Nor'scrik, seeing the spider attempt to lock itself in with its prey, jumps on the trapdoor to release it again. He jumps gains his footing just in time to jump back. I gave a +2 on your save, since you knew it was there already. DC is 20.
Sana taps herself with the wand again, healing herself up to about three quarters of her health.
Shard comes bounding in to see what's going on as Trutzburg moves into position and attacks. As Trutzburg slashes into the spider's body, the creature takes damage from Qildar's and Antikas's spells.
The quite bloody spider then moves to the ground level, out of reach of the fighter (5'step), and a dense fog pours out of the pit. Obscuring Mist: Cretures 5' away have Concealment (25% Miss Chance), creatures 10 or more feet away have full concealment. Area is a 20' Spread; so entire pit, plus 10' outside the pit.

"We hope we injured it enough that it leaves," Qildar says as he drops his longspear and draws his Elven curve blade while scanning the mist in front of him for the spider prepared to attack if it gets close.

Nor'scrik decides that taking a chance with something alchemical is probably worth it. He hurls a vial of alchemicist's fire at the spot where the spider stepped to before the mist appeared.
alchemist fire attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
I'm guessing a blind throw at a space would be 50% miss chance, but looking at the preview Nor'scrik rolled a 1 anyway.
alchemist fire damage, class bonus: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 or 4 splash damage.
Underground Chemist gets Int bonus to splash weapons direct and splash damage similar to Alchemists.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

While most of the party freezes and readies themselves for the spider to run by them, Nor'Scrik blindly throws an alchemst fire into the pit below. Though not a direct hit, fire splashes everyone in the pit slaying the Moon Spider.
Sana took 4 points of fire damage as well from the attack.
The mist lingers for about 5 minutes.

Nor'scrik checks his pack. He can be heard mumbling as he does.
"Why no pack rope? Stupid, stupid Nor'scrik."
Somewhere on Earth a human checks his Ratfolk character's sheet and face palms at forgetting to buy rope for his PC.

![]() |

Qildar removes the rope from his pack. Holding one end he tosses the reat down the pit. Not seeing anyplace to tie it off, he looks to the others for some help holding it. Once ready, he signals Sana to climb up.

'I think this place just hates everyone yeah. I mean how crazy do we have to be to do this whole spelunking a monster infested wound in the earth." Shard says with his dry sense of humor.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

After letting the mist clear Qildar throws a rope down to Sana, who easily climbs out of the pit.
You still have the door on the other side of the pit and a door to the south in the entry room.
I believe Sana is still at 13/17 hp from Nor'scrik's splash damage.

Qildar inspects the pit trap to see if he can reset it and then disable it so the party can walk across the floor safely.

"Based on the number of traps we have come across so far, it would seem prudent to be more careful," he says as he crosses the pit trap, stopping to inspect the hallway before the door and then the door itself for traps.
Perception (hall): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27
Perception (door): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 = 20
"Do you think both of us should check for traps going foward?" he turns to ask Nor'scrik.

![]() |

"These traps are very sneaky and well made. If they weren't causing us pain and annoyance i'd be impressed. I guess we're already going this way so may as well keep going." says Nor'scrik as he heads for the door and looks it over for traps.
perception, trapfinding: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24
If Nor'scrik thinks the door is safe and at least one more person is following him he'll open the door and look what is there.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Both rogues check the door and the area around for traps, neither rogue finding any. As Nor'skrik goes to open the door he pauses for a moment as he hears a faint, intermittent clinking sound, as if two small pieces of metal are striking each other softly on the other side of the door.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Not taking any notice to the noise on the other side of the door, the rogues move open the door:
The walls and ceiling of this room are hidden behind a thick, gray-white forest of spider webs that blocks all vision beyond ten feet. Webs are everywhere, creating a maze of vertical sheets. Gray, furry dust clings to the sticky, white webs. The desiccated, shriveled corpse of a long-dead man hangs spread-eagle across one of these layers of webbing, and rusty swords, daggers, and axes hang securely from others.
As the door opens, the clinking sound stops.

![]() |

Nor'scrik takes a slight step back as the webs begin to burn, though as an amateur alchemist he does enjoy the fiery display and claps his claws together with glee.
"Pretty fire is good. I hope it clears the room. Getting web stuck your fur is no fun at all!"

![]() |

Qilday pauses at the sight of the webs and nods in agreement with Sana lighting them on fire.
"We should shut the door so a spider doesn't come running out at us trying to escape," he says as he clutches his long spear in preparation for such a situation.

![]() |

I thought the spider webs were all the way up to the door. So I could stand basically where Trutzburg is. To be fair I didn't look at the map before posting. I Would most likely have reached between Nor'scrik and Trutzburg.

![]() |

Antikas Lays his hand on Shard and casts magical armour upon his eidolon companion then holds up his wand in a battle stance facing the doorway. Silent but waiting should there be any rushing spiders.

![]() |

"Another spider? No pit this time so that's good. Maybe that spider wants to be set on fire like the last one!" says Nor'scrik as he fiddles about with a vial on his bandolier.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

As everyone gets ready for the spider, Sana reaches between Nor'scrik and Trutzburg and lights the web on fire. As the fire starts to burn the web, the spider screeches in anger and starts to go on the offensive.
It'll take a round for the fire to catch. The fire will do damage to the web on Sana's turn.
The orange square is where the fire is started. Once the fire does damage, I'll turn the square red. Anyone in a red square at the beginning of their turn will take fire damage. Anyone moving through a red square must make an acrobatics check to avoid taking damage.
