Fury of the Tempest |
Going to throw up Tinker. I'm pretty sure I've got mechanics done, so I just need to finish up the fluff which shouldn't be too hard.
Backstory should wait until we know who is in the party, right?

Okay, I was wrong, through the magic of Pathbuilder I can throw together a level 11 dual-class character in an hour. XD I'll post the link later this afternoon, but the idea came together as a minotaur fighter/investigator (I saw there was another monk so I switched to fighter), starting with a linguist archetype and then picking up cleric archetype at 6th level. His name is Omiros, and he left Iblydos at a young age in search of greater intellectual stimulation than he could find in his small minotaur community. He traveled for a while even before meeting up with the party, picking up a number of skills (from what I've got of his build so far he's going to be at least trained in every skill) before falling in with the group. Experience with other societies softened his cultural distaste for gods, and once he discovered a taste for decorative metalwork he started worshiping Shelyn (somewhat to everyone's surprise, not least his own).
He's made his weapons, armor, and even his horns into works of art, etched and inlaid with complex designs that look labyrinthine but are actually a single continuous line. Omiros is usually surprisingly soft-spoken for someone who's 8'7" tall and built like a mountain, preferring diplomacy to violence, but when his wrath is roused he takes to battle with a calculating, efficient brutality designed to end the fight as swiftly as possible.

Yay!
Hmmm, party wise we have...
Armor Inventor/Supusition Barbarian/Wrestler (with a dabble of Medic)
Weapon Inventor/Diabolic Sorcerer/Bard (maybe I should have noticed you were going a buffing route before I went Supusition...)
Rogue/???/???
Monk/Barbarian/Wrestler
Fighter/Empiricism Investigator/Cleric
Me and the Monk/Barbarian are decent tanks with grappling lock-down and Whirlwind Throw to toss b%@$+es around. Our Fighter and Inventor bring close-range DPS, while the Rogue seems to be an archer. The Sorcerer/Bard brings both healing, buffing and some CC, while my dabble in Medic also gives me some decent healing too...
Seems pretty balanced, though I am quite wary of the fact that our highest Diplomacy check is a mere +14. Unless there is something I'm missing?

Thanks for the update!
I suppose there's nothing stopping us from starting discussion of how our group got together here in the recruitment thread. I'd been toying with the idea of Omiros not being with the group from the very start, but rather joining up partway into their adventure. Perhaps he stumbled across the party fighting something, or possibly the other way around.

Sounds like a plan.
Jadis is hard to fit if she wasn't the first or the first of the group. Perhaps she got the whole thing started.
She is rather good at disguises and seeming like someone else.
Want to ask the group. Her regular guise and her actual appearance should be split. Do you think her more exotic self should be the face of the Troupe?
Fury of the Tempest |
I was thinking something similar to Omiros in that Tinker wasn't part of the team originally?
My idea was that they were awakened by a white dragon (who is also her sire) to be the leader of an army of awakened animals they were making, only for the white dragon's cowardness and lack of morality to disgust her whilst the technology and teamwork of the squad fascinated her until she turned on her sire and helped the team defeat him and joined them from then on.
And yeah, White dragons aren't in the remake, but we aren't just using remake material, so I figured it would be fine to use them still.

1. HOW DID YOU MEET?
The classic answer here is that you all first met in a tavern,
but other locations might help to build your group’s unique
history from the outset.
You might have met after...
• ...being shipwrecked on a dangerous shore far from
home.
• ...being captured by enemies and escaping prison into
a mysterious ruin.
• ...you all enrolled in school and decided to investigate a
strange local legend.
• ...the ship or caravan you were traveling with was
attacked, leaving you as the sole survivors.
• ...one of you inherited or discovered an old deed or
treasure map, so you gathered friends to investigate.
• ...deciding that since you all grew up together, why not
form an adventuring group?
Maxx Trix will be an 'Original' character then, part of a circus with a undercover thieves guild. Moving from town to town, righting what once was wrong...and stealing...lots and lots of stealing.
Next question:
2. WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST ADVENTURE?
Every story starts somewhere. You should decide what part
of the world your adventures began in, as this decision can
help you answer several questions to come. But perhaps
more importantly, what about your first adventure was so
memorable that it was an unforgettable experience?
Your first adventure’s memorable location might have
been a...
• ...haunted house perched on the edge of a crumbling
cliff.
• ...mysterious shipwreck lodged on the rocks below a
long-abandoned lighthouse.
• ...long-forgotten alchemist’s or occultist’s laboratory
under the town mayor’s home.
• ...notorious ghost town in the wilderness whose
mysteries could no longer be resisted.
• ...confusing underground network of rope bridges,
mine carts, and twisting caverns accessed by the town
well that recently went dry.
• ...strange temple that suddenly appeared in the
nearby swamp when no such structure was there
before

It might be fun if one or two of the characters sought out the others to put together a team for some purpose and that's how we got together for our original adventure.
I agree. That's why I'm thinking the Temple thing. Getting people together to go and explore something exciting and new

3. HOW DID THIS SET YOU ON YOUR PATH?
From small beginnings, the greatest stories emerge. Your
first adventure may have seemed like a little thing when
you started, but something you uncovered during it drew
you into a complex and dangerous series of events that put
you in the immediate path of dangerous foe.
The unexpected plot twist you discovered in that first
adventure could have been a...
• ...sinister conspiracy of cultists or criminals who were
using the adventure site as a secret headquarters and
who have hidden agents in your hometown.
• ...trap set by someone you thought was an ally, and who
in fact was working for a dangerous enemy who no one
knew was active.
• ...place with a hidden room that revealed information
that, upon researching further, pointed toward an
imminent threat to the area.
• ...battleground where you had to negotiate between
bickering factions, one of which served a much more
powerful creature whose plans for the region must be
thwarted.
• ...dying prisoner or hapless soul whom you rescued from
a terrible fate and who, as they perished, set your group
up as the agents to finish their quest.
• ...mysterious map or poem that leads the way to a great
treasure or powerful weapon that, if you don’t find it
first, will fall into enemy hands.
OK I'll start the story and you guys finish it
The mirrored maze used emotions to move walls. The solution was a group effort, but Maxx would take full credit in stories told. At the center of the puzzle was a gem. Free floating, The multi-colored sparkler seemed blurry from it's constant reformation. Unknown to Maxx, the gem was shifting in and out of different dimensions.
