Radiant Oath

Welcome everyone to Breachill and to the Age of Ashes campaign.
Feel free to ask any questions or discuss in this thread. If you rather pm me for some reason, I will also answer that way. Have fun.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Hello All!

We appreciate the invitation!

Now, which goblin gets to go on this adventure....

Mosquito

Grandpa Gobbs

Radiant Oath

You should be the only Magus in this group. Having said that, I don't believe there is not much healing to go around.

Jakub Thorn's player here.

Looking to choose a single "friend" from among the party, who would have come to know the ghoran (and his peculiar behaviors) these past couple weeks or months.

Jakub will take a Lore skill corresponding with the ancestry of his "friend".

Ideas?

Excited to be able to be here!

I was originally going to go with a Shoanti Fire Kineticist, but I think, given the group make up, I will shift the Ancestry & Heritage to a Goblin, because that seems more fun, and with the Ancestry Paragon in play, more fun feats!

I know I said Half-Elf Aerokineticist, but I would be happy to pivot and develop a healer if that would be helpful.

AP-E, I might actually have the right concept for being Jakub's weird friend! A Pixie Druid (obsessed with being the same size as his friends)! We will just need to see what Delta-A think about allowing an initial fly speed per the Ancestry Guide Rules if nothing else, it is consistant with using Ancestry Paragon.

Radiant Oath

It is consistent with using Ancestry Paragon, I'm just not sure how ready I am to handle a flying character. Although I do have some leeway from the extra players to adapt the encounters to it... Any opinions from everyone else?

Thanks for the invite!

I have very little knowledge of the 2e system. I'll prepare my character later today, but I would greatly appreciate feedback on my build and play choices.

Oh, I'll be the emancipated wizard btw.

Hi, this is Veniir's character. I still need to write my familiar's stats and buy equipment, but I'm getting there!

Radiant Oath

Any questions just let us know.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Thinking that Mosquito will be joining this bunch....

I see Vrosi and Markus going their own way.

And the Pixie concept non-concrete yet - if you want input, consider committing to the character no matter how the GM rules on 1st-level flight

Of the remaining players, Jakub's player (me) is still looking for a "friend" to tie our backstories together. Which would entail little more than such a friendship developing over a short term (weeks or months) with, perhaps, a single skill in common, a shared interest!

=)

What do we currently have in the group? I am happy to fill niches, if required.

Radiant Oath

We have a fighter, a wizard, a cleric, an investigator, a druid and a kineticist

I liked the pixie concept, but the execution barely works WITH 1st level flight, and kinda doesn't without it. At least at 'Small' characters like halflings and gnomes aren't severely size-challenged, but at Tiny along with being move-challenged too, it's a little much. The druid was a great way to mitigate that AND add some healing to the party, but I feel like we have that now.

Kiilo will be a Bard; a Songbird Strix with the Emancipated Background, very very far from Cheliax and Devil's Perch (and totally okay with that after having been enslaved). His Free Archetype when it comes will be Eldritch Researcher.

And here we have Vorgon Bludksar, the Goblin Dromaar Kineticist, who is plagued with troubling dreams of fire and destruction at night, and so prays to Glimshyne, who the longshanks refer to as the Dawnflower, for guidance.

When their kinetic gate first activated, in the middle of a haunting vision brought on by Dahak's visions, Vorog burned his clans supplies that were supposed to last them through the winter. So he is currently clanless, following his dreams to Breachill, hoping to find a way to silence them.

I'm getting really excited for this game. I don't know if it's because I'm on a wizard, my favorite class concept, or if it's the coffee.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Probably both because everyone knows that Wizard's rules as does coffee!

I will be cleaning up Mosquito this week.

@ Gm I am really considering this Dedication for Mosquito's Free Archetype. Thoughts?

Dandy

He is a Cleric of Cayden Cailean...lol.

Coffee always helps.

As for Mosquito's free Archetype. Dandy could be of some use during the second adventure but generally speaking it might not be super useful.

Dotted - preparing long intro post now ...

Dandy gives expert in two skills, and for that alone is a strong dedication.

If you are already trained in them. But yes, that is a good point for the dedication feat itself.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Yes. That would also be a factor that I need to decide on fast....

Radiant Oath

Is using roll20 for maps and images okay with everyone?

That works for me!

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

I do use my phone 99% of time to post so viewing/using Roll20 will be sparingly done but I will try.

Roll20 is a dealbreaker for me.

=)

Certainly not a fan, but I can live with it for maps :)

Radiant Oath

We could handle it through theatre of the mind as well. But, if anyone knows a tool that could help with asynchronous maps, that can be accessed on the phone, that would be welcome as well. What works best for phone users? I'm basically 50% on phone myself.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

The majority of my PbP games use Google slides. I am not proficient although much more accessible on phone.

My techy skills suck.

About half of my games are Theater of the Mind. All PF2e.

I enjoy those.

I am good with both.

I frequently say that my last "real" job was at Dell Software ... so I could certainly offer to help making and sharing some slides.

But let's hear what everyone thinks :)
If there's a bunch of people who are down with R20, then we can do that.

My vote is for Google Slides - it's the most accessible, hence it's prevalence here in PbP.

That said, all though I am initially biased against ToM, I'd be willing to try it (if outvoted, for example), as long as every most-recent GM post during encounter mode has sufficient logistical descriptions / shorthand that we players could properly reconstruct the "battlefield" by reading that single most-recent GM post.

=)

Radiant Oath

Google slides would work well for me as well.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Perhaps a bit of both TotM and the ol' Google maps would be a nice mix.

Spoiler it is and has been in 6 to 8 of my games...lol.

I'm ok with any tool. I don't know enough about 2e to say how (in)effective ToM would be.

Cleric gots sum skillz ...

I do enjoy the fact that every Class has opportunity to have Skills (although I would have liked to see Class Skills automatically increased).

Not sure why you can't see Vorgon's skills, but he doesn't really excel at anything. However, he's not bad at Diplomacy or Stealth, at +5 each. Though his armor check penalty brings his stealth to +4, other than that trained in Athletics, Nature, Religion and Society.

Male Teifling Welcome players! Roll20 Map

Some of us don't use Pathbuilder, so not easily accessible perhaps?

It's a fair point though, sorry. Heh.

An hour later, a small, but wiry green goblin is seen passed out under the back row when the ceremony begins. There seems to be a newly (or not so newly) empty bowl lying reverently on his lap....

Am I understanding correctly that you are staying at the Wizard's Grace Tavern while everyone else goes to the ceremony at the town hall?

I don't think his intent is to opt out of important Encounters, GM, just that he is last to arrive.

Enforcing an opt out would seem severe, no?

Glimshyne is just his name for Sarenrae, it's goblin gobbledygook.

Yeah, that's why I was double checking whether I was understanding the post correctly or whether I was missing something.

Ah, that makes sense, thank you for clarifying that.

It’s a better name, honestly.

I do feel that we are quite lacking in Medicine being Trained in this group. With only 4 Heals, Mosquito will be in Combat only.

Any plans for secondary and out of healing?

I was thinking Hell Knight Armiger dedication for FA, but none use a rapier...
