Clara is snapped out of her thinking by the sight of a goblin armed and even more dangerous than usual with a wand of some sort.

"Woah, woah, woah there Briney! That stuff's like, totally magical and the like! We should put it down on the table where Rainy is so that like no one gets blasted with something weird!"

She looks at the 12 coins of indeterminate value and resists the urge to pocket them. She instead does the good thing by pointing them out to Briney.

"Phew! I'm glad I'm not the one dealing with the talking skull. Never was any good at the diplomasizing myself - are you?" She asks Briney.

Inspired by Briney's success in finding magic items, she seeks out magical loot in the "Assorted Items" (No. 3) pile, using her keen eyes to perceive loot.

She notes the poisons piled high upon shelves.

Maybe I can get these down for the group. Someone else will have to analyze them.

Ray and Felinzi gather around the table and try to talk to the skull. Ray starts the conversation by lifting the cover off the skull and accidentally knocks the skull of its perch with her arm. With a strangled yelp, Felinzi dives forward and grabs the skull before it falls. The skull pulses slightly, as if acknowledging the kobold's act.

"Thank you, scaled one. Call me Zykyryz! No, it isn't my name, but it's shorter than 'all powerful wizard.' That's right, I can do magic! Just wait. Hold on to me. Keep me close, and I'll prove it to you. As for you, " it snaps at Ray, "I prefer to talk to those of my level. I don't need to deal with butterfingered oafs like you!"

Randomness: 6d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3) + (4) = 17

Inspired by Briney's find, Clara heads to a table piled high with an assortment of stuff. Rummaging through it, she finds a vial marked "oil of mending"

Endra heads to the highest of the shelves and climbs to the top. Rooting through a shelf she finds a horrid mask, which Rain identifies as a demon mask.

Rain sighs in satisfaction as he sees you all hard at work, though he's a bit concerned about Felinzi talking about talking to frogs and a cat. He's also mildly concerned about Briney tapping coins out of his ear.

"I'll be back in a bit. I'm going to use the facilities and bring us back some snacks."

You hear him move towards the Vault entrance, but you pay him no mind and keep on working. You suddenly hear a scream coming from Rain by the Vault entrance

"They're not real! They can't be real!" The panicked voice of Rain in Cloudy Day precedes his rapid footsteps as he races back into the vault. "I can't… I don't… help! Please, help! They're after me!" Rain collapses just inside the vault, clutching the sides of his head and whimpering in fear. A hideous snarl from just past the entryway causes Rain to go completely still.

When Ozul hears Rain-in-Cloudy-Day shout, he figures he's too far to be of help. He casts a spell which makes the ground warp beneath him, and he's able to traverse a good distance in one go. When his spell peaks its power, he steps behind a wall and takes cover.

Felinzi looks warily at the skull. "Can taking then?" He tentatively and cautiously picks back up the skull. He considers slipping it into a pocket of his robes, but decides that might be somewhat rude.

So he is just standing there holding this skull when he hears Rain shout. Felinzi instinctively cowers for a couple of seconds.

Felinzi picks up the skull. As soon as Rain screams in terror, the skull's eyes suddenly flare. "That's better! That's what you get for using your head!" Suddenly, Felinzi feels more heroic!!

Briney:

You identify Pink as some sort of shadowy bugbear thug. It's a common monster that is skilled in sticking to the shadows

Pink charges Briney, though it doesn't quite get to the goblin. Clara hears a growl and another shadow creature rushes around the corner and tries to punch her.

Fun fact - I've only done what you wanted to do once. I was using a stuffed poppet that would suffer no damage regardless of how high he fell. It makes it way easier to get down, let me tell you! :)

Feeling just slightly in over her head and mentally cursing Arn for making her think she was in any way suitable for all this Pathfinder business, she also makes the three strides (◆◆◆) to get herself away from the shadow creatures. For what it's worth, though, she does put herself in between the creatures and Clara and Rain, getting ready to cast.

Pink quickly runs up to Briney "You fast!" he panics, but only momentarily, as in the tiny mind of his large head, the shot is clear - he has simply to take it!

And so, our goblin hero reaches over his shoulder and with a whipping motion ~ jumping up and down and up and down to generate additional inertia ~ which raises the strange alchemical device high enough that he can with some strain point it at the now-point-blank shadowy bugbear thug!

"Surprise!" he squeals with glee as if he were at a child's birthday party being suddenly served cake with freshly lit candles!

Ozul casts needle darts towards the pink opponent. Then, he pops back into the corner to hide.

Briney pulls his crossbow and shoots Pink between the eyes, grievously wounding it.

Before Felinzi can move a Blue shadow monster suddenly runs around the corner straight at him. Fortunately, the creature can only close with him.

However, Felinzi suddenly feels a hand reach out from under the table and grab him. Before he knows what's happening, another shadow monster has him in its grip and attempts to pummel him with a meaty fist.

Athletics to Grapple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

The monster snarls, giving Felinzi a faceful of meat-scented monster breath as the creature can't even hit something in its grasp.

Unfortunately, he's not able to free up his hands to cast.

Ozul sends a trio of needle darts at Pink, striking it in the same spot Briney hit it, almost removing its head. The monster dissolves back into shadowstuff. Ozul returns to his hidey-hole.

Stealth to hide is a secret check. You're not going to know :)

I modified Felinzi's turn a bit. I changed the stride to escape instead. I had to put his turn here or the dice rolls will change.

Felinzi attempts to break free.

Felinzi Acrobatics, Frightened 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

He manages to squirm free and Felinzi attempts to send a fireball into White's face. The fireball connects and singes some of White's fur.

Felinzi's attack still hits even taking into account MAP and Frightened 2

Yellow snarls and runs after Clara.

Another perfect shot - even with the distance "Hold on!" slamming the heavy crossbow down, he jumps on top of it and pushing with his feet, pulls with his tiny arms, cranking the entire mechanism just enough to load another deadly bolt...

While she initially hoped that Rain-in-Cloudy-Day would help take some of the threat of her, the image of the mushroom leshy in the fetal position dashed those hopes.

Clara takes out the very sharp and clean shortsword hung loosely off her side.

Clara turns and faces the Yellow monster. She draws her shortsword and tries to slip between its legs. Unfortunately she doesn't quite make it through. Undeterred, she attempts to stab the thing anyway but doesn't connect.

Endras sets her feet and fires her longbow right at Red's chest. Unfortunately, Red manages to twist out of the way that the arrow grazes it instead of burying itself in its chest.

Snarling, Red pulls out a spear from the quiver on its back and attempts to poke Endras twice.

Felinzi, rather startled by the sudden appearance of two new enemies at close range and being grabbed by one of them, manages to wriggle out of the grip and re-aims his half-cast spell into the new monster that previously had him pinned. The foe then retaliates with a couple of vicious punches to Felinzi's nose.

Current

Seeing that the shadowy creature didn't grab him again, Felinzi scampers away from the first enemy and past the second one trying to go hide behind someone else. As his fear and surprise starts to dissipate, the magical effect that Zykyryz cast on him starts to reassert itself. Felinzi stops and turns around, seeing Rayleigh rather injured.

Felinzi has to make a decision though, and healing friends won't do any good if the enemies just hurt them again. He inhales deeply as though he is going to shout at the monsters. But instead of a shout, a long blast of fire erupts and covers the two shadow creatures.

He looks over at Ray and wimpers, "Running is still best plan."

Felinzi moves away and breathes a line of fire that catches both Blue and White. Blue dodges away but is overwhelmed just the same. It dissolves into so much shadowstuff. White appears to be made of sterner stuff. It doesn't get out of the way in time but is singed by the flames.

Endra's arrows bury themselves into the monster's chest up to the fletching. The monster dissolves into shadowstuff. Clara again tries to slide between Yellow's legs but again doesn't quite get through. She thrusts upwards anyway and is rewarded by a scream as her blade bites deeply into the creature's thigh. Ray places herself between Clara and Yellow. She tries to send a magic dart at it but the loss of blood causes her to send it over its head instead.

Clara attempts to slap a battle dressing on Felinzi but is unable to. She manages to bury her sword deep into White's innards, causing the shadow creature to dissolve.

COMBAT OVER

With the shadow creatures gone, Rain begins to regain his composure. He takes a few deep breaths, then describes what happened when he tried to leave the vault.

"I took a few steps, then a few dozen more, but I couldn't reach the door! I shouted for help, but nobody could hear me! Or nobody was there? I don't know, it was like something out of a nightmare. I turned around, and there she was! I've never seen her before, but I knew it was her. Aslynn! Tall, dark, and hideous. She was dragging something, and singing… no, more like reciting poetry. That's strange, right? And terrifying. Something about my nightmares coming to take me away. I tried to run, but she touched my mind! She took my nightmares right out of me… those things! Just like she said. Right out of my nightmares. I hope she isn't still over there. I… I can barely think. It feels like the world is ending. I'm afraid I won't be much use. Could you take a look, see if she's there? Could you also take a look, to see if you can leave the vault to get help?"

You find the hallway is impossible traverse—no matter how many steps you seem to take, the door at the other end is always the same distance away, as if in a stressful dream. The group is trapped!

Looking around, he notices that some of you are hurt. He also notices Felinzi lying crumpled on the Vault floor. "You're hurt! Here! This should help!"

Reaching into his satchel, he pulls out several healing potions.
